WPATH sued for deceptive practices; big critical mineral find | Hour 3

Okay, I have another example of how the parties are not the same, this from National Review. The Federal Trade Commission filed a lawsuit against the World's Professional Association for Transgender Health, or WPATH as it's called, that is the world's leading medical organization devoted to transgender healthcare. The FTC is accusing the group of miss leading parents into seeking dangerous experimental medical procedures to alleviate their child's gender dysphoria. WPATH, an international nonprofit that claims to be dedicated to quote promoting evidence based care, education, research, public policy, and respect in transgender health, publishes highly influential guidelines for physicians on the efficacy and necessity of gender interventions. The lawsuit filed by the FTC and four Republican led states, those being Alaska, Iowa, Nebraska, and Texas, claims that wpath's guidelines violate the FTC Act, that is a consumer protection law that protects against deceptive acts or practices. Yes, see, these law already exist, and so would Democrats file such lawsuits? Will will the baby Jesus Jeff Jackson, our Attorney General of North Carolina. Do you think that Democrat ag is going to sign on to this? Of course not, of course not. Would a Republican attorney general? Well, had Dan Bishop won I suspect he very well might. Chances are he would today the FTC fal lawsuit. This is not today. This is from a couple of weeks ago. FTC Chairman Andrew Ferguson in a press release the FTC final lawsuit against w PATH, alleging that the organization made false and unsubstantiated claims regarding the necessity, effectiveness, and safety of puberty blockers, hormones, and sex change surgeries. According to the complaint, WPATH misled consumers by removing moving all age restriction suggestions for breast amputation or penis removal from its standards of care document clinical guidelines. The Standards of Care document are clinical guidelines that are supposed to guide healthcare professionals in providing safe and defective care for gender dysphoric patients. The complaint also details conversations between doctors and patients parents in which clinicians would ask the parents if they and we've talked about this before too, if the parents would rather have a live daughter or a dead son. Right. It forces the parents into a decision that is a deception they because they say that, oh, you have to do these things or else your child's going to kill themselves. And there's no other way except doing this thing that we are recommending you do based on WPATH. In twenty twenty four, the nonprofit Environmental Progress released internal communications which revealed that members of WPATH had admitted privately that gender transition surgeries and hormone therapies are largely experimental and that miners kids struggle to give informed consent before undergoing the life altering procedures. Which, yeah, that's always been obvious to every rational thinking person, right when you're transing a seven year old, of course, the child does not comprehend what long term consequences even are let alone these specific ones that are related to these procedures or or drugs, and the fact that the WPATH members, we're talking about this and the experimental nature of these quote unquote therapeutics, that is at odds with what they were publicly saying in support of all of this stuff. WPATH said in a statement, this is the second time this year the Trump administration has abused the authority of its agencies to interfere with Americans' right to seek and obtain the healthcare that should be decided between a patient and their physician. See again, they talk about these things in language that masks the nature of what it is we are discussing. Right. This is why they've adopted the women's healthcare quote unquote, after trying various euphemisms for abortion, they now frame it as women's healthcare, and that's what they're saying. That's what they frame this as as well. This is just healthcare. The FTC also alleges WPATH failed to disclose potential side effects, including mood disturbances, vocal pain and limitations, pelvic pain, other pain in the pelvic region. I will say, lack of sexual function for the rest of your life. In continents. Yeah, there were a lot of these really nasty side effects to this stuff that they never told the patients about, or the patient's parents if they were minors. You'll recall this year. Earlier this year, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons became the first major medical organization to come out against pediatric gender interventions, suggesting all related surgeries and procedures occur after a patient is at least nineteen years old. Once again, this has always been the rational approach to this contagion. Like I have become convinced that this is a contagion. It's a social contagion propelled by various things, probably mostly social media, especially TikTok. So another example, there would a Democrat administration do this? Would Democrat led states do this? Would they go after a wpath? I don't think so. Here's another. US President Donald Trump's administration targeted more universities yesterday over issues like race and diversity in admissions, as well as anti Israel protests, marking the federal government's latest crackdown against American schools. This from Reuters. The US Justice Department alleged admissions practices at Duke University School of Law were biased in favor of blackened Hispanic applicants. They cite the findings of a federal probe. The DOJ alleged the law school emphasized racial diversity and admissions, and that a black or Hispanic applicant has a substantially higher likelihood of admission to Duke Law than a white or Asian applicant with the same academic credentials. The DOJ said it sought a voluntary resolution agreement. Quote. Duke is committed to complying with the law and will continue to do so in a manner that's consistent with our academic mission. That's the statement from Duke. The US Supreme Court rejected affirmative action at colleges in twenty twenty three when it struck down race conscious admissions programs at Harvard as well as the University of North Carolina, and then earlier this week on Monday, Education Secretary Linda McMahon called on universities to commit to reforms by the end of twenty twenty six, but the NEA, the Teachers Union, urged universities to reject that call. The NEA is sort of the backbone of the Democrat Party. So again, do you think that the Democrat Party would be doing something like this, or would they be doing like the exact opposite of this. Yeah, I mean there are many examples of this same sort of timeline for procedures or practices, right. Lobotomi's is one of them. Electroshock therapy as. Another one like that was used way more widespread than it is now. As I understand it was the other one. That's just. Oh the cutting out of people's tongues, burning holes through their tongues, you know, for cussing. No, I'm kidding, that's not a medical procedure. But still, like, there are a lot of there are a lot of these things throughout history. Oh uh, Eugenics was the one, right, Eugenics that was all the rage. So here's a fun fact. Charles Kurralt, the famous broadcaster, right his father was here in North Carolina, if I recall correctly, right here in Charlotte, and was like the public health official whatever, and he was all about the eugenic stuff because they thought at the time, coming out of the progressive era in the nineteen twenties, that that timeframe they like, oh, we figured this out, and look at us. We're going to be so smart and we're going to be able to like tease out the problems that afflict people and then we'll make you know, perfected humans. And if that. Sounds like it is kind of sort of you know, master race kind of thing, if it's given off those vibes, well, it should not surprise you that the Nazis were also very big into this same area of study. So yeah, there were medicine, and you know science has a lot of these examples over the course of human history. Here's another one, another big win. Sorry for all you black pillars out there, but this is a pretty big deal. A US critical minerals company has discovered, or sorry, has confirmed the nation's largest known tungsten resource. Tungsten is a mineral. Okay, I haven't taken any kind of like geogra geology or rock science whatever rocks for jocks. Like, it's been a long time, so I don't remember what all tongue is used for and whatever, But apparently they found a metric or standard buttload of it at its Railroad Valley Minerals project in Ni County, Nevada. Slight problem. NASA uses some of this property, so they're going to have to sort some of this out. But in its updated resource report, the company three Proton Lithium it's the name of the company, three pl as they go by, said that the project hosts an inferred resource of one point seven to eight million tons of tungsten. The company revealed that the deposit is part of a mineral system that also contains world class resources of lithium, potash, and boron. Per the company, the deposit is reportedly five times larger than the biggest tungsten resource currently listed in the US. Five times bigger. Right, So here we are, right trying to do this stuff with like the rare earth minerals. We're like looking to invade Greenland and all of this, right, and all of a sudden boom we got we find a massive, massive resource pit. In our territory. It comes at a time when the country relies heavily on imports for the strategic metal. I don't know what this term means. It's in situ or sit tow anyway, it's in sto. Value is estimated at about one hundred and fifty two billion dollars based on current market prices. However, as I mentioned, might be a bit of a problem that we got to work out with NASA because exploration across about seventeen square miles of the project is still restricted by a NASA land with drawal. The Space agency uses the area to calibrate satellite instruments, and it says mining could interfere with the facility's operations. So I'm kind of torn, like, can we move the NASA thing because I mean, if there's seventeen square miles, like, I don't know, have they fully explored that seventeen square miles or could there be even more? Maybe we find even more tungsten right, or boron or potash. I don't even know what potash is. It sounds like a food, but you probably should not eat it. I don't think you eat it. Combined, the resources feature an estimated in ground value of three point five trillion dollars. That's what they just confirmed. At current consumption rates, the resources could provide the US with tungsten for roughly hundreds of years and we don't have to now buy it from China, which is awesome. Ten of the basins thirty seven identified geological layers have been fully evaluated so far, so they're only about a quarter of the way a little bit more than a quarter of the way through. They got thirty seven layers. They've fully evaluated only ten of them. The reported measured resources located within these sections. Additional resources could be identified as the remaining layers are assessed. Like, I'm excited about this. This is great. It's like, you know, if you're playing a video game and the map is all dark and you have no idea. You're running around looking for like iron so you could make weapons, and then the map opens up and the fog lifts and you're like, oh my gosh, I just found this huge iron deposit right next to my base. This is what. This is what they just confirm. I mean, I don't again, I don't know a lot about the tungsten, but it seems like it's important because everybody's very excited about this. So NASA's land withdrawal continues to limit development of this project. Though about seventeen square miles of the site were withdrawn from mining and exploration. Okay, so this was apparently this area was originally allowed to be explored in mind, but then in twenty twenty three NASA requested that it be removed withdrawn from the map. So you can't mine and explore in twenty three. So it's a pretty recent thing. So I'm hoping that it doesn't mess up the NASA stuff too badly, because I do think, you know, calibrating your satellites seems kind of important too. So three pl is seeking to reverse the NASA land withdrawal and argues that the restriction was imposed before the full extent of the tungsten resource was understood. I kind of feel like they should they should reverse it. Three point five trillion dollars worth of resources. Yeah, I kind of feel like they should reverse it. From the text line, Gary from Boston says, I don't think eugenic stopped. I thought it just changed form right into women's reproductive healthcare. They use tungsten for men's wedding rings in construction or end construction especially. I have one tungsten wedding ring. Are those the black wedding rings? Those are all the rage? Now I've noticed in C two is a Latin phrase that literally means in place or in its original position. Thank you, Tom, Tom. C seven oh four number says the government is selling a ton of land in Nie County right now at auction. Interesting in situ means on site or as it sits, meaning it will be much more valuable after it is mined. Rob also gives me the definition there, and also it's pronounced pot ash. Pot Ash fertilizer is a potassium rich agricultural and gardening amendment used to strengthen plant roots, improve water retention, and boost overall crop yields. So it's dirt, so they potash. Well, if it's potassium, shouldn't be petash because I don't call it potassium. Trent says, are you talking about Age of Empires to pete? That's one game. Yeah, there's a lot of a lot of those types of games. I forget what they're called, but like a lot of those games operate the same way they for non gamers out there. It's like you start off with a little base or something, and the whole map is dark or it's cloudy, so you can't see the whole map, so you don't know where enemies are, you don't know where resources are, so you have to go out and explore in order to open up parts of the map. And that's when I was saying, like, oh my gosh, I found this deposit, this resource, you know, right next to my base. That's awesome, because the worst. Thing is being really far away from a critical resource, you know, Da says potash or yeah, or potash is like suck atash just different. Okay, thank you, potash. Think k in NPK fertilizer concentrations. Tungsten is used in lamp and vacuum tube filaments. Interesting so well, so if we see a revival of the vacuum manufacturing sector, that tungsten is going to become way more valuable. Hi, Pete, were you able to discuss the guy beating up women in Dilworth after fourteen trips through our fantastic court system. I have not. I just heard the story on the news today. But yeah, here is my shocked face. You can well you can imagine. It's radio. Brandon is Brandon Dixon, our news guy is leaving, like literally leaving right now because he just did his last newscast. Give me the give me the. Uh well, first, I want to get your blow by blow. Give me a guess. Why would SpaceX have to write a report for the government, a historical report proof of uh learning? How about that? I would guess that you have you got to do something to get something? Is that is that a possibility? Well, that part is correct. They had to do this report in order to get something, which was approval for a memorandum of agreement for their Texas launch site. Oh out in West Texas. Uh huh. So when they're entering into this agreement, they are required to hire a consultant with relevant professional qualifications to prepare a historical context report of the historic events and activities of the Mexican War and the Civil War that took place in the geographic area associated with the launch site. The primary purpose of the report is to identify, to the greatest extent possible, the locations and layout of all Mexican War and Civil War activities in the area. These include military encampments, troop movements, engagement sites, et cetera, et cetera. The report will include images of historic and cultural landscape, beaches. Is their agreement. Is it any wonder why we don't build stuff in America? Well, because you have to get everything SMITHSONA sized or whatever it is, right, I mean, everything's different from the Smithsonian, and you got to do that. And you gotta look at this shaker. It was a shaker once upon a time, there was some salt in it. We should definitely get it, get a you know, get a setup for that. I mean yeah, I totally believe it. Oh yeah, this was part of their their MOA. And this isn't even the most egregious. In my mind. Okay, what's the most Okay? Another So, Elon Musk talked about this on a podcast. So, the government wanted to know what happens when a rocket launch occurs to seals, Navy seals, no, the the water mammals, right, So they were forced This is how Elon tells it. They were forced to kidnap a seal, strap it to a board, put headphones on the seal's ears, and then play the sounds of sonic booms to see if the seal would become distressed. I thought, really they did that. They also did it to a shark. And then my god, and then they had to go get another seal. So they did two seals and a shark. Two seals and a shark. Yeah, walk into a bar and so he said. Yeah. He says that they asked for the data to calculate the odds because they were worried about the probability of hitting a shark. The government refused to give them the data because they said shark hunters might get a. Hold of it. Shark hunters, And then there was. Another division and they were like, well, what about hitting a whale And they're like, well, it's very unlucky whale if a whale is going to be hit by this rocket or whatever. And they're like, well, do you have some data there, like that's usually your department. You're like, yeah, no. But the second agency they're like, we don't like those other guys that we're not giving them the willow. It's just nuts what these guys have gone through. That's fantastic though, Like in some ways it is kind of fantastic that you've got some loser in a Cuba gole having to come up with stupidity and at the end of his life he'll say, God, I wasted my life with a shark and a spoon and all this sort of stuff.
