I'm kidding. Um, Look, all I attempt to do here is to give you a different perspective because if you are on the right, on the political right, you are probably most accustomed to being fed a constant diet of black pills, doomerism. All is lost. Everything is terrible. Why? Well, for a long time, the political right did not have much, if any, power. OK, so especially in North Carolina. So this is kind of new. You know, I mean, yes, the Republicans have controlled the state legislature since 2011, but it was about a century and a half before they got that power. So even at the state level, you know. Republicans are not used to actually being in control to having the majorities. And so there is this sort of this, I think, general disposition. that we're used to losing. The political right is used to losing, especially when you are bombarded all the time by the dominant media and cultural voices from Hollywood and music to the legacy media, right? We've just been just inundated for decades and decades with this same sort of narrative, right? And We don't really know what winning is like. And so when Trump comes in and he gets stuff done that we like, we still find reasons to be mad. And then you have a media ecosystem that highlights, if it's the legacy media, right, from the left, they're going to be highlighting all of the things that Trump is doing wrong to make you feel like, oh, this is all terrible. But you also have And it is a business model. Okay. I've talked about this before in media, right? Nobody buys the newspaper. Well, nobody buys newspapers anymore, but just go with the example here. Nobody buys the newspaper from the kid on the corner, you know, with the, with the pants that stop at the knee and the little newspaper boy hat waving around a paper saying absolutely nothing happened today. Read all about it. Right. I joke that if you're not scared, media is not doing its job because fear sells just like sex sells. See Sidney Sweeney, right? Fear sells. And so keeping people in a state of fear and agitation is good for political parties. That's why they use negative attack ads. Spoiler alert, negative ads work. Attack ads work. That's why they use them. So, There is a business model, and it's not just on the left, it is also on the right, to sell that fear, to keep saying that things aren't good enough, things are terrible, all is lost, right? And there are different reasons and incentives for people on the right to do those things in the media, to be sure. Some of them are just, you know, in it for the clicks, in it for the audience. They're just following where the audience goes. Like if they do a show about something positive, they don't get as much audience. If they do something that's negative, they get a bigger audience. They get more views. That's called audience capture. Then when the host begins doing topics or taking opinions in order to just play to the audience, to tell them what they want to hear, as you may have noticed, I don't do that. I'm not, I'm not, I try not to do that. Okay. Because it's not helpful to, And it's not honest. So I see things in a different way, I guess, than some of these other media outlets do and personalities do. And that's fine. That's fine. And that's not to say I see everything as positive. I don't. I'm not a Pollyanna here. However, I can look at something and say, hey, you know what? The border's closed. That is a good thing. That's a good thing. That's what Donald Trump promised to do. And he delivered on that promise. And for me, if I didn't get anything else, at least I got that. But see, I also say this as one who has never voted until Trump won this time. I've never voted for somebody that has actually won the presidency in my entire life. I've always voted for a libertarian and then they went really nuts. And so then I stopped voting for them. I think in the last one in 2020, I left it blank. And I had the luxury of doing that to be sure, because I live in a state that Donald Trump carries. Now, if I lived in a state and my vote actually, you know, mattered a whole lot, then I might think otherwise, but I've always voted in midterms. I've always voted in the down ballot races. I've used the presidential race as sort of, you know, a protest vote to try to send a message to Republicans that, Hey, I want you guys to be more fiscally restrained. They have not gotten that message. So, decades of me doing this, I guess I'm in a different headspace, you know, that like, I never expect to get anything ever. And so when I vote for a guy mainly as a protest against the media and their coverup of Joe Biden's mental decline, they're gaslighting me, they're corruption. So I protest voted against them, but I also voted for Donald Trump in that process. And so if I got nothing other than the closed border, That's a win for me. So again, I approach this differently. I don't have a long checklist of things. Now, Supreme Court justices, that was another thing that I wanted to see, and I feel like he has delivered as best as he can because you never know how these justices are going to rule once you put them in there for their lifetime appointments. But generally speaking, been satisfied with most, if not almost all of their rulings. There have been some bad ones, no doubt about it. mainly John Roberts, but that wasn't a Trump nominee. That was a Bush nominee, right? So I just bring you this information and I talk about this stuff because I'm trying to give you some other perspective because I feel like you are already getting a lot of the doomerism. And in a midterm election, when the party that holds the White House is their voters generally don't turn out in the numbers because they're not as energized. This goes both directions, no matter who's in the White House. Their voters are not as activated and energized because, again, fear sells, anger sells, and so the people who are out of power, it's easier for them to get animated because they're not in power and they get angry at the things that are being done, right? So if your response is to say, I'm not going to vote because I didn't get everything I wanted. I don't understand that logic. I don't understand the logic of saying, let's punish the party that has been at least trying to do some of the things with Trump. Maybe not all of them. You're not going to get everything right. And it's not going to be overnight, but they have been trying to do more of the things you want than the insane people that are on the left. I don't know why you think giving them power for four years so they can run as far left and make as many fundamental transformations as Obama promised to the entire country as possible. You saw what happened. We are where we are because of Obama. So why would you empower that ideology? Do you think then that Republicans rise from the ashes? What if he, what if they don't get that opportunity to do so? Right. What if they can't, what if in two years, a Democrat wins the white house, they have the trifecta and then they proceed to do these things that they have said they're going to do like, you know, open the borders, abolish ice, um, Get rid of the filibuster so they can ram through all of their fundamental transformation. Get rid of the electoral college through their interstate compact shenanigans, right? Pack the Supreme Court so any lawsuit, they'll win. Do you think you come back from that? I don't. Sincerely, I don't think we ever see a return if that stuff gets done. You don't come back from that stuff. You do all of those things. If they do all of those things, we don't come back to any resemblance of the nation we've had. So I'm going to vote accordingly. I think everybody of a limited government mindset, anybody who loves Trump, anybody who opposes the Democrats' agenda, like all of these people need to go out and vote against this rising menace that is the red green alliance inside the Democrat Party. And maybe you think the Republicans come back from that. I'm not so sure. It's not a risk I'm willing to take. That's me. According to CNN's Harry Enten, There has been no decline in the MAGA support for Trump. His approval number. Is at 98% among self-described MAGA folks. 98% approval for Donald Trump. Now, there is a, I got a text here from somebody. I forget. Yeah, here it is from Kevin. Who says, I really don't think the majority of us Republicans are going to stay home. They will be out in force for the midterms. It's the selfish 45% of the population who are independent and vote according to whatever their current circumstances are to, as you say, punish the people currently in control. I'm not giving up, Pete. So please don't call me a troll again because I have different views of things. Okay, first off, if you troll me, then I'm going to identify your actions as troll behavior, number one. Number two, there's another Kevin who is a troll. Not this Kevin, because I have this guy's last, Kevin gave us his last name, the one that I'm reading here. Okay, but if. You engage in trollish behavior, I'm going to identify it as such. I don't know if I've done that to you. I think I did several weeks back, because you were kind of trolly. You were kind of trolling. But yes, to your point, Kevin, there are people that are not MAGA but voted for Trump that may very well stay home. And so this is why I'm going over this stuff is to encourage people, you cannot stay home because the ramifications of you doing so are, as Obama said, fundamental transformation. Now, maybe you're on board with what Democrats want to do. They have told us what they want to do. And if you want to embrace the Marxism like a lot of the Democrat Party has, then I guess you're my enemy. Seriously. Like, you're my enemy. If you want to create a Marxist state in America, then I am your enemy, you are mine. Because I am opposed to Marxism. Brenda says, people are so impatient when things are not done right away. It takes time, and President Trump said it's going to take time. Yeah, Americans are not known for our patience. 704 number says, sadly, I don't believe the Republican Party is the one we knew in our youth. The issue isn't whether they will put save our country It is now a party of oligarchs and the rest of us. Like George Carlin once said, it's a rich person's club and you ain't in it. Okay, well then, 704 number, you should go vote for the party of the other oligarchs. Right? That'll teach the party of oligarchs. Again, I've said for years, the parties are realigning. I don't know how it shakes out. Nobody does. Okay? But the parties are realigning. You see it with like union voters, for example. But the leadership is all still with the Democrat Party. Yet all the tech industry, they were all with the Democrats. Some of those tech bros have now gone over to the Republican side. So there's all this shifting going on. No doubt about it. And I don't know that the Republican Party of our youth was actually better. It was just different. They paid a lot of lip service to things that they didn't do either. But this idea that it's a party of oligarchs and the rest of us, I think you misunderstand how people actually win races. You know who gets people through the primaries? Quote, the rest of us. Oligarchs, they only get one vote. So unless you're saying that all the primary voters, the grassroots Republican voters, unless you're saying like all of those people that door knock and phone bank, that they're all somehow like deceived by the oligarchs or something. This is just this is an overly simplistic view of the way things actually work inside parties and inside elections. It's just, it's what you're espousing here is just another form of doomerism. Call it doomerism light, shall we? In other words, like you're robbed of all agency. You can't do anything about it. I'm just one person, that kind of a thing. And you're, that's doomerism. That's black pill. Like you're saying you can't make any changes and that's just not true. In fact, that's always what, affects the change. Individual people that get involved and make a difference. So I reject this abdication of agency. In fact, what if I told you that Michael Watley, the guy running for U.S. Senate on the Republican ticket in North Carolina, what if I told you that his polling is actually higher than Tom Tillis's was at this point six years ago. Would that surprise you? That's true. That's kind of interesting, no? Guy with no public record. Not a senator running for re-election. He has higher poll numbers than Tom Tillis did six years ago at the same time. And Tillis won. All right, real quick. Every government number gets revised, right? Every projection gets walked back. Gold does not file corrections like GovCo. Revelation Gold Group helps families hold physical gold and silver, including in a tax-advantaged gold IRA. It's real. It's in your name. Or if you want to talk to somebody, you can call 888-465-3049. From the Twitter machine formerly known as X, Pete, you are 100% correct. Thanks, Dad. Everyone who sits out and doesn't vote is really voting for the crazy socialist communist DSA who have offered only the complete destruction of our republic. That is true. No one on the left is realistic with what our nation stands for or its goodness. Um, yeah. I, and like, to me, this is a very stark contrast. They're not hiding the ball any longer. Democrats aren't, they're not hiding the ball, right? The DSA is ascendant. The things the DSA wants to see done are being articulated by quote unquote, mainstream or so-called moderate Democrats. They are all on board with that agenda. So you vote for Cooper. For the U S Senate race, that is a vote for that agenda because Roy Cooper is not going to fight that agenda. In fact, he was caught on camera undercover camera saying that he can work with everybody. He'll, he's going to work with everybody. We're a big tent and all of this stuff, right? So the DSA is simply wanting the Democrats to follow through on the things Democrats have been promising to do for decades. That's why people are going with the DSA. So, you think Cooper's going to fight against that? By the way, six-year term for Senate? So Cooper is 69 years old right now. He's going to be 75. What of all of those Democrats that are making arguments about people's age, right? We've been hearing a lot about this. Oh, they're too old. We shouldn't be electing people that are this old. To Congress or the White House and that sort of thing. But for Cooper, the age issue is not coming up for some reason. I wonder why. I know it's different when it's a Democrat. I get it. Jeff, welcome to the program. Hello, Jeff. Thanks for taking my call. Just a quick comment on the upcoming course. We're dominated by the cost of gasoline. Everyone seems to be focusing on that. I know that Trump gets some of the blame for it. But if people would think back to when the communists were in power, what they wanted to do was mandate that everybody go to an EV. So what would you rather have, the choice to drive a gasoline vehicle or be forced to buy an EV for $ 120, 000? Well, sure. Right. I mean, they have made their opposition to fossil fuels... well-known for the better part of the last 30 years, and they have advocated for higher gas prices as a mechanism to force people to get off of the fossil fuels. Yeah, case in point is Keystone Pipeline. Yeah. Where would we be if we had that going on? Right. So this idea that I'm mad at gas prices being high, so therefore I'm going to put the people in power who want gas prices to be even higher. This is why it doesn't make any rational sense. Exactly. And the other point I wanted to discuss with you is our entire economy is built on a self-leveling so-called system of controls to prevent extreme highs and lows. But the result of that system, we end up with price spikes occasionally in commodities. And these same people who are concerned about the price of gasoline, they've got no problem with raising taxes to pay gas. more for healthcare and social services and everything else. When in the meantime, that would take more out of their pocket than gas prices. Right. Yeah, no, you're correct. That's, it doesn't make rational sense. There's no logic behind this. So it's, um, you know, um, I, and, and the other prices that, that, uh, my good friend Ray Cooper talks about, you know, in the grocery store, prices are coming down. You're seeing more buy one, get one deals. You're seeing items that are suddenly back down, you know, 75 cents, 95 cents, whatever. I'll tell you, Christy and I went food shopping yesterday, and a bill that I thought would be over $ 300 came in at $ 228 or something like that. Yeah. And the other thing is, hey, I'm just glad there's something to buy. When the socialists were in power, just show them we're an EMT. Yeah, I mean, that is fair. And we're going to get a real-time test of that in New York City. We'll see how the government grocery stores work. Jeff, I appreciate the call, sir. Thank you. Let me get to this piece at the Washington Reporter by Tate Christensen. Six years ago this week, two polls showed Senator Tom Tillis struggling to reach 40% in the North Carolina Senate race. Two polls this week, six years ago, and he was under 40%. He went on to win. He won by like just under two points, but he won. Now, to be sure, he was running against Cal Cunningham. Cal Cunningham had the whole sex scandal thing and the even bigger scandal when he posed for the I Love Barbecue in front of a charcoal grill like he was flipping hamburgers or something. That was an even bigger scandal in North Carolina. But Cal Cunningham had a whole bunch of baggage that all erupted right in the final weeks of the campaign. And unless something like that happens with Roy Cooper, cut him loose Cooper, probably not going to see that kind. Of implosion here. But Tillis was running in the polls behind where Michael Watley is now. In this year's race, Watley's already polling ahead of Tillis' numbers against Roy Cooper. Again, Cooper is polling above Cunningham. And Roy Cooper has name recognition because he's been in politics since dirt was invented. Okay. So he has that name ID. However, people's opinion of him is pretty well locked in at this point. I've said this from the beginning that like his popularity and the polling that you see with him, that's the ceiling because he is a known entity. He was governor for eight years. He was attorney general for 16. He was a state lawmaker before that. The guy's been in politics forever. Okay. He's a lifelong politician. Even Cooper acknowledges this. He said, quote, this race is going to be close. It's going to be a one to three point race, regardless of what you are seeing in these polls. Now, um, They go on to point out he's been in public office since Ronald Reagan was president. That gives him a leg up on Whatley in name recognition. Trump has won North Carolina in three consecutive presidential elections. The state has only had, yeah, the state has only four Democrats currently serving in Washington, D.C. Both senators and 10 representatives are Republicans. In January, the number of registered Republicans was larger than that of Democrats for the first time in state history. but unaffiliated voters remain the largest group. Despite Trump's 24 victory, an Elon poll found 31% of North Carolina adults approve of Donald Trump's job performance, 54% disapprove. The same survey found broad dissatisfaction with the economy and the cost of living. Okay, so this is what this election is going. To be about. Do you trust Democrats more on the economy? All right, from the text line, Actually, hang on a second. Let me finish this. Because I asked the question. I asked the question before the break about, do you trust the Democrats more on the economy? My answer to that is obviously no, okay? Because they're... Like, Roy Cooper's running around North Carolina on this stupid Make Stuff Cost Less tour. Terrible name for a tour. But anyway, he's running around on this tour saying he's going to make stuff cost more. I mean, less. But under his leadership... we. Saw historic prices across the spikes across the board, 85% increase in housing prices, the most expensive healthcare in the nation. Our energy bills also went up 30% under him because of their green new deal, signing onto the Paris accord and all of that crap. Okay. Right. He, he tried to create the, um, the slush fund, uh, in order to get in order as a bribe, basically to approve the Atlantic coast pipeline. Remember that deal? I do. He would not allow like the, the, the state agencies held up the permitting on the pipeline in order to shake down the energy companies to get a slush fund that he would then pass on to his environmentalist wacko nonprofit allies. And when the legislature figured that out, they were like, whoa, whoa, whoa, you don't get to do that. The only time that you can create one of these funds is through like litigation, like the tobacco settlement, right? The Golden Leaf Fund. But this is the way the Democrats have been running these types of funds. They're doing it again now with their lawsuit against Facebook. They're going to create one of these slush funds for their allies on that stuff. Why do you think that the guy who has been signing on to the Green New Deal stuff, you think he's going to bring down energy. Prices and gas prices? It's crazy. Roy Cooper admitted himself that North Carolina Democrats tend to, quote, be ahead in the summertime and be behind in the fall. That is a trend he hopes to defy. A spokesman for the Michael Watley campaign said, told The Washington Reporter that Cooper's awareness of this trend doesn't make up for his disastrous record as governor. Quote, Roy Cooper is running North Carolina Democrats same playbook as they did in 2016, 2020 and 2022. Lead in the summer and lose in the fall. In November. North Carolina voters, especially Republicans, tune in late and tend to break late, surging Republicans across the finish line come election day. Again, I don't know if that's going to shake out again the same way. I don't. I hope it does, because I really don't want Roy Cooper to win. And people are like, well, you seem to hate Roy Cooper. Correct. Correct. Runs as an, oh, shucks, I'm just a country lawyer, moderate, and then governs like a far-left radical. But I get it. A lot of people don't want to admit that their votes for Roy Cooper over the years may have been in error. All right, to the text line we go. Bain says, I'm convinced the angst over the way things are going in America economically comes down to one super simple thing. We see gas prices everywhere we go. Imagine if the price of eggs or meat or coffee or widgets was splashed all over billboards or on the CNN crawl, kind of like the COVID case death count. What if we had a deportation ticker or a 24-7 tote board on people who just bought their first home? Or murder data. Like you say, Pete, there are lots of great things happening in the U.S., but they can't be reduced to a sign like a gas price at a convenience store. Pick your poison. Track anything over time along a highway or the TV screen, and you can create any attitude. No, and there's truth to that. It's the thing that most people see all the time and are paying frequently. So, yeah, they're, you know, filling up a tank of gas goes from $. 30 to $ 50, as it has for me. I feel that I have to adjust my budget just like I did when Biden was president. People forget that. Tony B says, yeah, that's a great idea. Tell the folks whose vote you need just how stupid they are. Let's see how that works out. How's Darlene Graham working out in South Carolina? Uh, don't know how she's working out in South Carolina. Again, I don't make predictions on the election outcomes. Everybody wants to make predictions and, and you know, just by making a prediction doesn't make you right. What will make you right is if you make a prediction that actually comes true. But even then, that's just really a guess. As for calling people stupid whose votes I need, the people that are saying they're going to sit out the election, that is a stupid tactic. It is an irrational, illogical tactic. It doesn't make any sense. That's what Kurt Schlichter was talking about. Um, I would say Trent says, I would say for the people on our side who think we are heading for civil war, why accelerate the timeline by giving the power to people who say they will do everything to suppress and diminish half of the country's voice, pack the court, abolish the electoral college, ending the filibuster, allow illegals to vote. If you don't want a voice in this country anymore, then whatever, stay at home. Um, And Rodney says, I voted for Trump. I'm not MAGA. I will be voting not Democrat. That's from Rodney. All right. That'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening. I could not do the show without your support and the support of the businesses that advertise on the podcast.
