[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_01]: First I want to welcome to the program, Jason Puckett, he is a reporter over at WBTV, and Jason

[00:00:36] [SPEAKER_01]: welcome to the programs, how are you?

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm doing great things for having me.

[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_00]: What's your idea?

[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, sir.

[00:00:42] [SPEAKER_01]: So I was interested in your report yesterday regarding the latest developments in the AsHA degree

[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_01]: missing person case from 2000s or 24 years ago, this little girl went missing and the

[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_01]: local community set up all sorts of a hotline and reward money for information, billboards were put

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_01]: up.

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_01]: And it seems like a lot of people never forgot law enforcement, never forgot.

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And then we get a search of several properties in Cleveland County over what the last week or so.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And then what yesterday, the search warrants for those searches they became public, is that

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_01]: was that the development, right?

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Nothing exactly right.

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_00]: We knew there were been search warrants carried out at at least that one property off of

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Cherryville there in Cleveland that we were talking about that without your Shelby.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_00]: We went in yesterday to pick up the warrants and they were actually eight of them in total.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Most carried out at properties in Cleveland, one carried out in Charlotte and a couple where

[00:01:48] [SPEAKER_00]: actually warrants to get a sample of DNA from a couple of people of interest in this case.

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_00]: So we've seen a snippet of it happening in real time, but these warrants give us a much better

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_00]: look into what they were targeting and who they were targeting out there in Cleveland County.

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_01]: And the car that was hauled away this older model, greens, sedan, seems to kind of sort of fit

[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: a description of a green late model car but it didn't look like the pictures in the original

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_01]: from 20 years ago, original I guess I witnessed a counts or something.

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_01]: But they seem pretty confident that that's the car is that the idea?

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_00]: You know it's hard to say their confidence level because it doesn't specifically mention that

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: in the documentary what it does say, you know, it specifically lifts to the car that they pulled

[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_00]: up property that we got footage on. I believe it was an AMC ram where and what they do is they

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_00]: bring down that back in 2000 when they 2001 era when they had put out the original sort of

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_00]: be on the lookout for that they had gotten it basically second hand from a witness. So the witness

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_00]: describing was a green link in the like car some of the features what they write in the

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: warrant is actually the same C Rambo that they pulled off. He is a pretty close match for exactly

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_00]: what they were talking about back then and it's possible there was just maybe some second hand

[00:03:07] [SPEAKER_00]: misunderstanding someone made a thought it was one brand when it was another model of car kind of thing.

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: So they actually pulled a couple other cars off of properties as well. I believe

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Dedman who is a Roy Gettman who is one of the persons of interest here they mentioned that he

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_00]: had something like 29 registered cars in total and they pulled at least two that we see in the

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_00]: warrants that they're going to be taking a closer look at and seeing if they are linked to this case.

[00:03:32] [SPEAKER_01]: 29 cars good lord. 29 registered cars yeah. Yeah. All right so let's talk a little bit about

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Mr. Dedman and I guess his wife Connie Dedman. Those are two people and I guess they have

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: been named as suspects at this point at least because there's the the law enforcement for

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_01]: my understanding is now they are saying that they believe A. should agree was murdered but it's a

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_01]: homicide and that's and that these two are suspects is that accurate?

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_00]: That is 100% accurate that they are now treating this as a homicide case and that is how they're

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_00]: investigating it's as for Roy and Connie Dedman. It uses some very specific language in there that

[00:04:11] [SPEAKER_00]: basically says they are investigating them because of their links to the two people who were DNA

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: matched to the belongings of A. should agree so it's kind of two levels of separation here that

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_00]: one of their daughters actually and a Lee was linked with DNA to the belongings of A. should agree

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_00]: that we're found about a year after disappearance as well as another man his name was underhill

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Russell Underhill he was a patient at a facility of Roy and Connie Dedman that they were running

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_00]: like a mental health facility in the county out there so they have been listed because the

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_00]: the warrants basically read that due to the age of their daughter at the time and the people

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_00]: who were DNA matched they find it hard to believe that parental involvement was not a part of this

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_00]: that some sort of assistance didn't come from parents or adults in their lives out there so

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_00]: that is why Roy and Connie are specifically being looked into it doesn't specifically mention them

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_00]: as you know being linked to doing anything or or mentioned what they might have taken part in just

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_00]: they had reason to suspect them of involvement and these warrants obviously were taken out to go

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_00]: gather more evidence on their property and even get a DNA sample of the two of them to see

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_00]: if their DNA would match any of the things that were found on A. should belongings so you mentioned

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Analy Dedman or Analy Victoria Dedman Ramirez that's her full name and so she is the daughter

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_01]: of Roy and Connie she was though what 13 years old at the time A. should degree disappeared which

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_01]: was in 2000 so like and then who the other fellow Russell Bradley underhill he is now deceased

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_00]: as I understand correct that is correct so so there's a lot of sort of to take us back these

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_00]: warrants gave a lot more information of than than anything we've seen in quite a long time in this

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_00]: case but as you're pointing out here there's obviously some gaps we still don't know you know

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_00]: the how and why or the what actually happened very little information in there just more

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_00]: kind of an idea of what investigators are focused on getting more evidence about right now so to your

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_00]: point yeah Analy Dedman who now goes by you know Analy Ramirez I believe she lives in Charlotte

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: one of the warrants was carried out on her property all we know is she was 13 at the time that's

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_00]: happened and that's the the other DNA that was linked to that Russell underhill you mentioned we

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_00]: know that per the warrants that he was a patient of the Dedman that was coupled with their facilities

[00:06:37] [SPEAKER_00]: that they ran in Cleveland County there so we don't know the connection between them at the time

[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I will point out you know the only other nugget that comes out of the warrants is there is a

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_00]: testimony and they're from a worker at one of those facilities and they talk about how that

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_00]: protects the five that the Dedman daughter so that would be Analy and her sisters as well

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_00]: that they actually would occasionally take patients either to hospital trips or just basically

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_00]: take them around in family cars sometimes and that same witness mentioned they car that fit the

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_00]: same description there so you know we don't know exactly what happened but the elements do kind of

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_00]: give you an idea that it's possible that two of them were in a car it's possible that you know

[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_00]: they were somehow together at the time that something happened out there we just don't know

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_01]: what that was that happened do we know how old this Russell Bradley underhill

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_01]: fellow was at the time or at the time of his death or what he died of or anything do we

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_00]: know anything about him you know we know he died in 2004 and that he was out of facility with

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_00]: the admins we're actually looking into him right now I don't want to give any misinformation since

[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_00]: they didn't put a data birth and there were double checking our work right now to make sure we

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_00]: have identified the right person so I'll have to get back to you on that one no it's fine that's

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_01]: totally acceptable it's a totally acceptable answer right so and this is it actually highlights one of

[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_01]: the challenges in trying to piece together a 20 year old missing person case that was difficult

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_01]: at the beginning you know obviously that people couldn't figure it out at the time and now

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_01]: fast forward 20 plus years and now trying to piece this together but it seems like there was some

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_01]: sort of break in this case I see it referred to as genealogical data do you know what what that is

[00:08:19] [SPEAKER_00]: what are they talking about you know we asked and they they they have just declined at this point

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_00]: to give us more information you know the Cleveland County Sheriff's just just to give it aside there

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_00]: is is working with us very thoroughly and and they're being as open as they can be but I think

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: they're trying to keep parts of this a little close to the chest so they didn't tell us specifically

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to speculate too much but you know there there are ways that someone's DNA can

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_00]: enter the system later on through either a minor you know infraction where they would have the

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: labeled or possibly even something like you know there you hear about people doing genealogical

[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_00]: tests and things like that right into some of these these tracks on the line again I'm saying

[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_00]: that that is not confirmed right that's the stuff we're asking questions on right now because

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_00]: it is it is curious to some degree that you know it's 24 years later and the DNA that apparently

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_00]: they've had from this backpack is just now being tied to a tool woman who's you know been in

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_00]: the area now lives in Charlotte you know that that is it does make the question of what made

[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_01]: that path here the last couple months right because if you were involved oh my well okay not

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_01]: you but if I was involved in a murder I would not be taking any ancestry tests you know why

[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_01]: that's just me so yeah so yeah like I got I got questions about how that and you do as well

[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_01]: like and we just don't know at this point is there anything else that in reading through the warrants

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_01]: that you found interesting or important to note here that we haven't already covered

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's just a nuggets that are going to be interesting to see what they pan out to be you know

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: that the rumors that were flying around Cleveland for the past couple days and weeks as the

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_00]: the information was being kind of held back was that they were possibly bodies found on that

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_00]: the property here just to reiterate that those those rumors were not true they did not find

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_00]: human remains is what we've been told but the warrants do confirm that there is witness testimony

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_00]: that Roy Deidman was seeing digging a hole and standing in a hole that was up to his waist at

[00:10:16] [SPEAKER_00]: you know a couple years after ancient disappearance so we're fascinated to find out what they did

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_00]: go dig up and what they did find in those holes if there was any sort of evidence also something

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_00]: we're keeping an eye on you know you can go through the warrants and see what was actually

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_00]: sees that each property and there's actually two homes on that same stretch of property there on

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Cherrieville the deadment lived in one around the time of ancient disappearance and they now live in a

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_00]: bigger one just kind of literally just on the other side of the property and then that older home

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_00]: the law enforcement investigators went in and they got into some locked padlock closets

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_00]: and what it shows them having taken out is actually diaries belonging to the daughters at the

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_00]: time as well as documents relating to Russell Underhill there and time as a patient underneath them so

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: it seems like there's definitely some information that they have gathered that directly ties

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_00]: to the questions they were hoping to answer when they went in there and now it's just a matter of

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_00]: time that see as they process that what they will kind of let us know and see into what's going on behind the scenes

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_01]: there yeah Jason Puckett from WBTV News Wbtv.com has his story that he did with Nick Oksner

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_01]: headline search warrants released in Asia degree investigation in North Carolina Jason thanks for your time

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_01]: all right so thanks again there to Jason Puckett this is from his story posted at wbtv.com

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_01]: the search warrants executed by the Cleveland County Sheriff's Office the FBI and the NC State

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Bureau of Investigation and connection with the case of asia degree were made public yesterday

[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_01]: he read them that's why i reached out and asked him to come on because i have not had time to read them

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_01]: and it's right don't know what all is in them but i've seen some of the reporting

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_01]: according to an affidavit filed with the search warrants investigators believe that asia degree

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_01]: is the victim of a homicide with her body concealed affidavits filed with the warrants outlined

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_01]: DNA evidence that led them to zero in on the eight locations all of which are tied to

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Roy Deidman and Connie Deidman who are referred to as suspects throughout the warrants according

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_01]: to the affidavit investigators use DNA evidence from a hair found on a shirt that belonged to asia

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_01]: degree which was found in a trash bag along with other items in burq county back in 2001 okay so

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_01]: a year after she went missing on valentine stay in 2000 where she got up in the middle of the night

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_01]: got dressed and walked out of the house a witness said that she saw her walking or uh yeah

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_01]: that they they saw her walking on the street um and not i mean this was not like a street you

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_01]: like with a sidewalk as i understand it so they thought that was odd and when they turned around

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_01]: to go back and try to find her she had walked off into the woods another witness

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_01]: apparently said at the time that they saw her getting pulled into a green

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_01]: older model sedan that's where you know the different makes and models like an old link in or a

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Ford Thunderbird but like these land yacht massive size you know vehicles

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_01]: and what was pulled from the garage one of the cars was an AMC rambler but it was green

[00:14:42] [SPEAKER_01]: like a seafoam green a year later i believe some construction workers find her backpack

[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_01]: and it had a book in there that was like a doctor's soup book there and then there was also

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_01]: what i think was a power ranger shirt or something and that was not her shirt but they found

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_01]: clothing and items in the in this garbage bag so apparently the DNA from those items

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_01]: traced to one of the deadman's daughters who at the time was 13 years old DNA matching a second

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_01]: person also located in the evidence now what does that mean i don't know but if your DNA

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_01]: shows up in a bag of a missing girls backpack and and clothing or something in her book or whatever

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_01]: that's that's going to raise a lot of questions you're gonna have to answer

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_01]: investigators said that the warrants in the warrants that they believe Ron and Connie

[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_01]: deadman assisted with the concealment of the crime i have no idea and they're not you know

[00:15:54] [SPEAKER_01]: they're they're urging people you know to keep the speculation to a minimum here because

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_01]: you have a family that's been you know looking for their daughter for 23 years 24 years and

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_01]: you know this is this is very painful for them and so our prayers go to them um and we hope that

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_01]: we hope that if she's not coming home that you get justice for the person or persons that uh

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_01]: that prevented her from doing so all right real quick let me introduce you to my friends Gabriel

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Doug Maxwell i never got to work with Doug Maxwell as far as i know he may have been here

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_01]: at WBT just after or just um right around the time I got let go the first time i'm sure there will be

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_01]: another it's up a way and i don't know Doug Maxwell was a morning traffic reporter

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_01]: and um here on WBT for about seven years also on our sister station one oh seven nine what was

[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_01]: then called the link now it's called mix one oh seven nine and um he was apparently murdered so

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Joe Marisac at the Charlotte Observer reported on this the other day Doug Maxwell who's distinctive

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_01]: voice resonated with radio listeners as the updated Charlotte traffic was found dead of blunt force trauma

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_01]: in a vehicle outside of his Davy County home on uh Wednesday morning so almost a week ago

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_01]: deputies are I did not I was not aware of this until uh yesterday deputies arrested 29 year old

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_01]: is cidro Rivera aguero junior who lived in the same home as Doug did up in advance north carolina

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Doug was 62 years old police have charged aguero junior with murder aguero uh was held on $2

[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_01]: million bond over the weekend investigators are not saying if they know what prompted the killing

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_01]: deputies found Maxwell at about eight fifteen in the morning after they got a call from the home

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_01]: and it was in reference to an unknown medical call that according to the sheriff's office statement

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Doug Maxwell was a divorced father of five he used to live in Cornelius but he had moved up to

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_01]: advance in is I think that's how you say that right it's not advance it's advance right

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_01]: all right well yeah that's I mean I'm not a north carolina native but

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_01]: go with that I'm going with the advance yeah um and so he was living up there and according to his

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_01]: LinkedIn profile he was for the past seven and a half years he's been in account uh sorry

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_01]: an executive account manager which is you know or a count executive or basically your

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_01]: sales guy like rate that's what we call them and radio land over here executive account managers

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_01]: or account managers or account executives um they deal with accounts of the clients and he was an

[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_01]: executive account manager with value biz office furniture in Charlotte so he was still working here in Charlotte

[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_01]: that was according to the Charlotte observer story this one is from WXI-I-12 television up in

[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_01]: the area Davie County um the Davie County Sheriff's office

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_01]: arrested 29 year old decidro aguero junior on Wednesday facing felony murder charges

[00:20:58] [SPEAKER_01]: he appeared in person in a Davie County courtroom where the DA's office laid out a narrative

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_01]: of the of the murder. The DA's office says that it was aguero's step mom who made a 911 call

[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_01]: from their home. The Sheriff's office says that the call was received by Davie County

[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_01]: communications at around 815 in the morning quote she thought that her steps on may have probably

[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_01]: killed someone the DA's office said quote her husband had went down into the basement saw blood all

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_01]: over the place and also noticed that the carpet was cut and indeed it was it was cut up

[00:21:44] [SPEAKER_01]: and then removed so it wasn't that the carpet just had like a cut in it it was like cut out

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_01]: and removed according to the DA's office aguero's father also noticed that his roommate

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_01]: aguero's roommate so what it seems like is there's a two story house or something they've got

[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_01]: a basement maybe a split level whatever and they had people living in the basement so they had

[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_01]: aguero junior living in the basement in one bedroom they had another bedroom that they had rented out

[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_01]: to Doug Maxwell and he was living there and so it's his quote roommate but yeah I mean that's

[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_01]: it seems like that's the scenario so aguero's father and step mother live upstairs

[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_01]: and the father notices that the roommate Doug is not there the office says that Maxwell and

[00:22:38] [SPEAKER_01]: aguero lived in separate rooms in the basement of the home so deputies responded when they arrived

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_01]: at the scene mister aguero comes out that's junior I guess he has his hands in the air

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_01]: and says there's a dead body in his van the DA's office says deputies proceed to detained aguero

[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_01]: junior read him as rights he invokes his right to remain silent deputies then find the body

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_01]: of Doug Maxwell blunt force trauma to the body and they could see through the van's windows

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_01]: they could see him in the van aguero is going to be appointed an attorney from the capital

[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_01]: defender's office in the meantime his temporary lawyers temporary council said in court that

[00:23:27] [SPEAKER_01]: he's a veteran of the United States Navy and a current student and he's been cooperative with

[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_01]: investigators for whatever that's worth which at this stage to me is nothing the judge said aguero's

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_01]: bought a $2 million and if convicted he faces a maximum sentence of the death penalty

[00:23:49] [SPEAKER_01]: minimum sentence life in prison without the possibility of parole and he is expected back

[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_01]: in court on September 26th so if you knew Doug Maxwell and you heard his voice here on your morning

[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_01]: commutes I'm sorry to be the bearer of the terrible news there but again our our prayers are

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_01]: with the family and friends his colleagues former colleagues for comfort and strength and peace

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_01]: so when i was a kid my grandpa died with Alzheimer's and before he died my mom and my dad and all

[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_01]: of us really helped take care of him as he got progressively worse 40 years ago there were no

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_01]: treatments and not much support for caregivers and family things are different today because of the

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_01]: work so many people including the Alzheimer's Association of Western North Carolina it's a great

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_01]: organization with awesome people they've got huge hearts I've been a supporter for like 25 years

[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_01]: this cause means a lot to me I participate in the annual walk to end Alzheimer's and I am leading a

[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Charlotte team this year it's called Pete's Pack you can sign up and join the team and walk with

[00:24:54] [SPEAKER_01]: it's on October 19th at truest field in uptown sign up at alz.org slash walk and then just look

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_01]: from my team Pete's Pack and there's also a link in the podcast description here also I'm going to be

[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_01]: MCing the Gastonia walk on October 5th so make a team and join us or make a donation to help me hit my

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_01]: goal I would really appreciate it there are a bunch of other walks around the Carolinas and you can

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_01]: to a lz.org for all of the dates and locations we are closer than ever to stopping Alzheimer's

[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_01]: and if you can help us get there we would really appreciate it will you come walk with me

[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_01]: for a different future for families for more time for treatments this is why I walk

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_01]: so quick correction I actually I think I did overlap with Doug Maxwell when he was here just

[00:25:48] [SPEAKER_01]: was going over the timeline with John Moore producer extraordinaire S. choir if according to the

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_02]: LinkedIn page he was here in 2010 I came in in 2013 you came back in 2013 I returned I was

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_01]: taking off probation in 2013 John Moore was also on time out all of the great ones have been on time out

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_01]: John Hancock me you I think that's it actually yeah okay anyway um so so Doug was doing the

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_01]: morning traffic for WBT until 2010 I think it's at October of 2010 but I was at that point I was

[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_01]: nine to midnight and so he had just come in and was doing he was a new hire I guess and I I never

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_01]: crossed paths with him is then I was I was gone within six months so um but yes so he was here

[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_01]: on the morning show um related story kind of sort of crime related I should say over WBTV two

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_01]: defendants facing murder accessory charges got released from Mechlamburg County jail despite orders

[00:27:07] [SPEAKER_01]: from judicial officials to keep them detained a Mechlamburg County magistrate authorized their

[00:27:14] [SPEAKER_01]: release on unscured $50,000 bonds Jose Anacleto Rivera Martinez and Reina Oloa Martinez

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_01]: we're indicted in a grand jury for accessory after the fact to a felony in the murder of Kevin

[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Merlow Sotaravia they got pronounced all those correctly court records alleged that Jose and Reina

[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_01]: assisted the person who is charged with the murder Jose Oloa Martinez so I guess related to Reina

[00:27:48] [SPEAKER_01]: in trying to escape they they helped this guy try to escape by transporting him away from the

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_01]: area and helping the defendants secure fake paperwork documents well at least he's not undocumented

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_01]: because he got the fake documents both defendants appeared for hearings um and the bond got modified

[00:28:15] [SPEAKER_01]: to $50,000 secured and court records at the time of this report by David Hodges at WBTV

[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_01]: showed that they were processed in the Mechlamburg County jail and released within a couple of hours

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_01]: um the Republican governor's association put out a press release yesterday

[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_01]: responding to an ad that North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein has put out

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Josh Stein is running for governor but he's the current agey and that ad features

[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_01]: sheriffs from Durham, Chatham, Forsyth and Orange counties who ironically refused to

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_01]: cooperate with ICE those are the sheriffs that are backing Josh Stein and Josh Stein has an

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_01]: ad running right now pulling the clip of Mark Robinson at the church Mark Robinson current lieutenant

[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_01]: governor running against Stein for governor and Mark Robinson made those comments about uh

[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_01]: he was talking about World War II about the Germans and about Americans response and he said you know

[00:29:38] [SPEAKER_01]: some people need killing right and so they take that clip. Robert of all the context and everything

[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_01]: else that Robinson was talking about at the time and they say that Mark Robinson is dangerous

[00:29:57] [SPEAKER_01]: he's unhanged he's crazy old well if you're running for governor of North Carolina

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_01]: you will literally be in control of whether or not somebody lives or dies because the North

[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Carolina we still have on the books at least the death penalty and what's pretty amazing to me is

[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_01]: but even when you have the story with Robinson's clip that Stein is using and we still can't

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_01]: get anybody to ask Josh Stein about would he signed the death warrants would he actually put

[00:30:37] [SPEAKER_01]: anybody to death in this state if they are convicted and there appeals exhausted and if you don't

[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_01]: think that that's the case like if you disagree with Robinson and is there like some people need

[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_01]: killing right that line that he delivered and if you just say that's not true does that mean then

[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_01]: that you will never sign off on a death warrant because that's what it sounds like you're saying

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_01]: and don't you think that's something that people should know pro or con death penalty the Republican

[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_01]: governor association points out that Stein is obviously nervous about his record um understands watch

[00:31:16] [SPEAKER_01]: fentanyl overdoses increase 650% drug deaths doubled rapes went up 53% and the number of murders

[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_01]: are up 25% under his watch as attorney general and he likes to say the top cop that he's been

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_01]: the top cop and that's what Jeff Jackson is saying too democrat running for attorney general

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_01]: and his damn bishop points out that's not what you're supposed to be doing all right that'll do it

[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_01]: for this episode thank you so much for listening I could not do the show without your support
