This isn't the "Goes around." It's the "Comes around." (09-26-2025--Hour1)

This episode is presented by Create A Video – Former FBI Director Jim Comey is indicted for lying to Congress and obstruction of justice. Democrats and media (but I repeat myself) are outraged and claiming that this is unprecedented... as if we didn't see 8 years of precedent against Donald Trump and his allies. Donald Trump is apparently coming for you guys. That's what I can that's my assessment after the news broke that the world's second most famous swifty has been indicted. So I can only assume all of you millions of Swifties are also being targeted as well, including like I gotta believe Travis Kelcey as well. I mean, I know where he's going to be on Sunday, so I think so, or maybe they're playing a Thursday game or Monday night game. I don't know, but like they publish his schedule, So if you're looking to round up the Swifties, like you know where he's gonna be, yes, so Jim Comey gets indicted in an unprecedented Yeah, example of a politician, in this case the president of the United States targeting his political opponents, like the Swifties, James Comey, big swifty head. Is that what they call them? Swift? I guess swifty is just the name Big Swifty. And remember I played his audio a couple of weeks back where he talked about how he was so moved by Taylor Swift's legacy and her art and everything, and her lyrics and her songs, and she's in the little He's in a group chat with his family members, the Swifty group chat among famis members and stuff. Yeah, we've never seen anything like this before. This is the narrative that the Democrats and the media. But I repeat myself, this is what they are going with that there is simply no precedent for a president going after his political opponents. As if we all did not see what just happened over the last five years. You do realize, Democrats and media, you do realize that only like a child under the age of ten would not be aware of the recent history here of attempting to throw Donald Trump in jail for the rest of his life, and the indictments and the targeted attacks against almost two dozen of the people that worked for him and with him. You realize we know this, like we were all watching, we were all paying, we were covering it, we were talking about it. It's not unprecedented. In fact, when y'all were doing it under the last administration, we kept telling you that this is a terrible precedent to be doing this, because you're going to get turnabout, especially if somebody like Donald Trump or Donald Trump himself were to ascend to the presidency again. And now here we are, the president was already set. This is what you call turnabout. This is the turnabout phase of the FAFO. Okay, this is now the right playing by your rules, which people on the right told you these are not good rules to establish, blowing up the norms and such. But I know you said this was all to save the democracy, and now you're like, oh my god, gosh, but what's going to happen. You know, when the Democrats take over, then they're going to do it right back to you. That's a fair point. That is an absolutely fair point. I don't want to live in a society where just because you lose an election that means you get thrown in jail. That's Banana republic type stuff. Right. Never, by the way, never have been able to locate Banana Republic on the map, but I am assured it does exist. But that is the kind of thing that a Banana republic does, not the retail store, but the But yeah, like third world dictatorships and such. But luckily, not only did you guys set a precedent for prosecuting your political opponents, but you also set another precedent. Do you remember this one? This one's actually a little bit more recent. It's like not even a year old. You know what it is? Did you guess pardons? If you did, you are correct. That's right. All of the pardons that you can hand out as the president, you can even do them preemptively. You can have them go back and cover a decade's worth of moulfeasans and illegal activity. Just blanket pardons for everybody and anybody in your orbit, in your administration. Just mass pardons for everybody, and you could just have the auto pen sign them all. You don't even have to be aware of all of the people you're pardoning. Yet another precedent that we said you guys probably shouldn't do that. That's kind of a norm busting outrage. You said, ha haha, screw you. We're going to be in power forever, Niah, now not anymore. And so now we've got another president. I suspect that Donald Trump will also use which will be to part in everybody. So then you can't charge any of his people with doing anything illegal, which you are so convinced that he has done, so convinced that you've indicted everybody, and then you send people to jail for lying to Congress, which is precisely what Jim Comey got indicted for. By the way, in a very lefty area, a grand jury pulled from the eastern district of Virginia. I believe this is not exactly Maga country where people are trying to assault folks coming from a subway shop at two am in a blizzard, in a polar vortex. Right, not exactly Maga country, and a grand jury indicted Jim Comy. Let me read a statement, because this is why perjury matters. Okay, lying to government investigators, this is why a perjury charge is so serious. The justice system is an honor system. We really can't always tell when people are lying or hiding documents, so when we are able to prove it, we simply must do so. As a message to everyone. There was once a time when most people worried about going to hell if they violated an oath taken in the name of God. That divine deterrence has slipped away from our modern cultures. In its place, people must fear going to jail. They must fear their lives being turned upside down. They must fear their pictures splashed on newspapers and websites. People must fear having their name forever associated with a criminal act. If we are to have a nation with a rule of law, the defendant lied blatantly in the justice system. To protect the institution of justice and reinforce a culture of truth telling, the defendant had to be prosecuted. I am very confident that should the circumstance arise, the defendant would not lie to federal investigators. Again, do you know who said that. If you guess Jim Comey, you are correct. Jim Comy said that he was talking about Martha Stewart, who they sent to prison for lying to federal investigators about not for not for Insider trading, but they didn't charge her with that right. They charged her with the with the lion. That's what she went down for. That's Jim Comy in his book. Since the announcement of the indictment from a grand jury of his peers, he issued a statement which I think he's wearing makeup, which is weird. My family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump, but we couldn't imagine ourselves living any other way. We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn't either. Somebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant. She's right, Taylor Swift. But I'm not afraid, and I hope you're not either. I hope instead you are engaged, You are paying attention, and you will vote like your beloved country depends upon it, which it does. Ah, catastrophism. My heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system. I'm innocent, So let's have a trial. Okay, cool and keep the faith? All right? Yeah, all right, well let's do that. Then. I completely agree. By the way, note the posture victim hero, never the villain, always the victim or the hero, or in Jim Comey's case, both at the same time. You know, stories are powerful. Here is Senator Richard Blumenthal sending a warning to Republicans after James Comey was indicted, warning that, you know, Democrats could do the same to a conservative figure next. I mean, you guys better be aware that this could happen to you. Now the old thing, what. Comes around goes around, you know today it's a Republican bet, but degrading the democracy and ruining literally perverting the great ethos and tradition of the Department of Justice where I was in awe when I walked through those halls as a federal prosecutor. I think it's time for Republican colleague to say enough is enough, and we're going to push them and. Do it hard. Okay, So yeah, this is the thing. As Sonny Wright said on social media, I wonder if making a million excuses for Biden's DOJ trying to imprison Biden's top opponent while Biden part in his own family for crimes might have had repercussions. These are the repercussions. And to use Blumenthal's phrase, there, this isn't the going around, this is the coming around, right, He said, what goes around comes around, This is the comes around. Part you guys did this. You blew up the norms. You said that the democracy was at stake, and by blowing up the norms, you then give the wreckage over to Donald Trump, who you say, is this authoritarian? And what you did was deconstruct those norms ahead of his ascendancy or reascendancy, ahead of him retaking control of the government. You blew up the guard rails, which doesn't seem like a very smart thing to have done. Here is Larry O'Connor. O'Connor, he is a radio host at wma L in Washington, and he was on with Mark Halpern, who does a YouTube show called Next Up, which is I think it's I think he does a good job and he brings on different people. So this is Larry O'Connor talking about the Komy indictment. Here everyone's trying to equivocate this, as you know, Trump going after his political opponents. James Comy is not running for office, he's not an elected official. He was one of the most powerful law if not the most powerful law enforcement officers in the country as the FBI director, and if he abused his power and lied to Congress and their oversight role while in that role, he should be prosecuted. And that's not a political opponent. It's not like what was done to Donald Trump where he was running for office and these laws were sort of, you know, creatively applied to him, as you point out. Secondly, I think that when you look at this subjectively speaking, when you look at the facts and take the politics out of the way, and I understand that that's difficult. When you look at those two cases in New York, the Letitia James case and the Alvin Bragg case, it's pretty hard to figure out just looking at them on face value and looking at the facts what law was broken, let alone whether Donald Trump was guilty of breaking those laws. You really have to sort of contort yourself and twist yourself in the pretzel. And they were unprecedented. There had been cases like that they and the bar and the bar rather than being higher for a former president and the front runner for the presidency, the bar was lowered. That's right. Add to that the fact that they ran for office as a campaign incentive, vote for me, and I'll do this, as you said. Secondly, when you do the exact same thing with Director Comy, when you look at his testimony under oath before Congress about whether he leaked information and whether we talked to the press, and his conduct during the early days of the cross for a hurricane investigation, and Donald Trump objectively speaking, if you set politics asiety, it's hard not to see that. Yeah, it sure looks like he didn't tell the truth under oath. That's perjury and that should mean something. But secondly, he also openly bragged about what I would characterize as abuse of power when going after General Flynn. You know that that famous exchange with Nicole Wallace when James Comy was selling his book. Maybe you can run the clip here on the podcast where he laughs about the fact that he took advantage of the chaotic early days of the Trump White House he would have never done it under Obama or Bush, and sent an agent in there to talk to Mike Flynn and potentially trap him in a perjury trap. By the way, the agent that he sent was Peter. Struck, the guy who was text messaging with Lisa Page. The most anti Trump FBI agent maybe ever. Yeah, So that's the thing on the merits. This is and I don't know, by the way, like I don't know because at the heart of this charge, the accusation of perjury, is whether or not Comy told mccab Andrew McCabe, his number two guy, whether he told him to leak this stuff, whether it was quote authorized or not. McCabe says it came from Comy. Comy says didn't come from me. So one of them is lying, And it could be that Comy isn't. We're gonna find out. But there is an enough probable cause here. There is enough evidence for a grand jury to indict. So again, a grand jury in a Democrat district. This isn't like venue shopping into Manhattan, so you can get a jury pool that voted ninety six percent against Trump. This is not that so like these are not exactly analogous number. Next up, this is saying guy Larry O'Connor from wm AL, responding to the charge that this is hypocrisy. Those of us on the right mark feel that the only way this stops is if a couple of them start to get indicted in that. I know that seems wrong, I know that seems hypocritical, but they need to recognize these tools can be used against them until they stand up and say, Okay, enough. I understand it, and and I get eye for an eye, and and and I get the the you know, people tell me there's all this game theory that show. Unless you make them pay a price for it, they'll keep doing it. I don't like either. But what I also don't like is the is the is the fact that the media and academia just sides with one side. It's one thing for partisans to be partisans. It's another for it to be two on one ers. You said maybe more than two and. One, right, So this is the This is the argument that the right has been having. And if you are not on the right, you probably are unaware of this argument. How to respond to the unprecedented abuses that the Democrats engaged in against Donald Trump and conservatives and by the way, have been doing so for decades like the and this dovetails into the you know, the speech policing and the deplatforming, and we're going to get into that. But the this issue of how to respond. Do you just disarm and say, okay, you know what, you can imprison us, take all of our wealth, get us debarred or disbarred. Rather, you can do all of this stuff against Yes, but we have a higher morality, so we shall refrain from doing anything. Even if we can prove it that you violated the law. We shouldn't do that because we are better than you, and we can I guess rest assured of that moral superiority while we rot in prison. So when I was a kid, my grandpa died with Alzheimer's, and before he died, my mom and my dad took care of him as he got worse. Forty years ago, there were no treatments and not much support for caregivers and family. But things are different today because of the work of so many people, including the Alzheimer's Association of Western Carolina. It's a great organization with awesome people with huge hearts. I've been a supporter for twenty five years. This cause means a lot to me. I participate in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer's and I'm leading a Charlotte team again this year, and it's called once Again Pete's Pack. We're closer than ever to stopping Alzheimer's. Can you help us get there? Will you walk with me? For a different future, for families, for more time for treatments. This is why we walk so. Former FBI Director James Comy indicted on criminal charges related to allegations that he lied to Congress during testimony in twenty twenty about whether he authorized a leak of information. Comy is facing one count of false statements and one count of obstruction of justice. According to a release from the Department of Justice, the statute of limitations for the perjury charge was going to run out on September thirtieth because that's when it's a five year statute of limitations. And he allegedly lied on September thirty, twenty twenty, before the Senate Judiciary Committee when he said that he never authorized anybody at the FBI to leak information to the press related to the investigations of either possible collusion between Trump and Russia or Hillary Clinton's use of an unauthorized email system. Okay, so that's the nature of the charge. We don't have evidence presented yet, so we don't know how strong the evidence is right at this point, but obviously there was enough that the grand jury indicted. There is a fellow named John Lefevre Lefevert le Fever le Fevere. Anyway, he's an author, and he said they changed the law to bankrupt Trump, they converted expired misdemeanors into felonies to jail him. They threatened lawyers with disbarment for defending Trump, and now they cry that real justice is actually retribution. So if you are not understanding why MAGA and why Republicans and conservatives are looking at this differently, Larry O'Connor spells it out. I've got more audio from his interview that he did with Mark Halprin, but I get the feeling. And O'Connor said this that like, looking back now post Charlie Kirk assassination, half the country really has no idea what conservatives think and why they really don't understand conservatives at all. Let's see here. This is from Ted Cruz, who has a podcast because everybody does, and his pot cast is called Verdict, and he said, this indictment is not for being an opponent of Donald Trump. It's not for being a political figure on the other side of Donald Trump. This indictment is for deliberately and knowingly lying under oath to the US Senate, which is a clear and unmistakable felony. Right, Like, the evidence is going to show whether or not Comy lied or not. Right, we should be able to figure this out in the trial when the evidence is presented. We will then be able to make make our own determinations, make up our own minds. I don't know. It seems like he did, considering his track record, right, his violation of all sorts of ethical protocols and stuff over the years, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit. But maybe Andrew McCabe is lying. I don't know. We'll find out hopefully, so I'm withholding judgment on this, but it seems pretty clear that if they've got evidence that he lied to Congress, then yes, he should be indicted. That's the only way this stops people lying to Congress in order to protect a particular leader at that time, it was Joe Biden. If you want that stuff to stop, then you have to drop the hammer on these bureaucrats and these officials when they lie to Congress. It's the only way this gets better. I don't know any other way out except violence, and I don't want to see that. Former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer. He did a screenshot of several of the headlines over the contempt charges against Stephen Bannon. Steve Bannon right, he refused to comply with subpoenas from the House. Peter Navarro, he got indicted. He says, I don't know if James Comy is innocent or guilty, but I do know that when the Biden doj indicted, Trump aids Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon. The Washington Post in New York Times treated it as if it were straight news. They did not treat this as Biden going after his opponents. They did not do that. It was all just like, here are the facts. These men are accused of evil doing, breaking the law. Right, it wasn't filtered through the prism of political retribution. And by the way, whenever you see somebody using the term retribution on this stuff, on this particular story with Jim Comy, a fun follow up question to ask them is retribution for what? Why would Donald Trump be trying to engage in retribution against Jim Comy If Jim Comey didn't do anything against Donald Trump, which of course we do know he did. We know from the all of the docum We've been covering them for the last five months, right, the documents that were supposed to have been destroyed but did not get destroyed. That showed the meetings between the intelligence community officials and how they laundered the Steele dossier into phiz acord applications and into the presidential daily briefings and use it as a predicate for the full blown Crossfire Hurricane investigation. Just utter corruption and the manipulation of fake information, dressing it up as if it was legitimate intel and it wasn't, in order to justify spying on the presidential campaign of Donald Trump and then going after all the people around him and trying to cripple Trump's nascent first term administration. Jeff says Pete that Comy sound By should say there are consequences to repeatedly trying to frame Donald Trump those of us. Oh, yeah, i'd say so. I don't know what that was. Oh that was my fault. Sorry, do do do do? Do do do? I don't know who this is to? Is this to me? Thank you so much for your opening words. Oh I guess the Morning Show had Bill Graham on m openly omidst major event. Okay, I did not hear the segment, so I don't know what he said. Kirk is saying he seemed to be painting the indictment as weaponizing the d against political enemies, but did not mention how the DOJ was used against Orange Man and his minions. Right, well, and again, So here's the and here to me is the difference is that you have an actual predicate for the indictment. There is evidence that Jim Comey lied to Congress. And if you're not, Look, if you don't want it to be a felony to lie to Congress, then get rid of the law. Then just say the law is. We're going to amend it and we're going to wipe it away. And now you are allowed to lie to Congress. We're not going to put people under oath. It doesn't matter, right, But if it does matter, and I believe it should, that when you when you testify, you take an oath to tell the truth under penalty of perjury. There has to be a penalty if you lie. Otherwise there's no point. McCabe admitted under wrote that he himself leaked info and then on the next day told Komy. So Comy did not authorize the leak, right, but McCabe said he took it as an authorization. See this is what I mean. We're gonna find out who was lying about it, whether or not Comy knew or not. And again we don't have the evidence. We have what McCabe said, and we have what Comy said, but we don't know whether or not there was authorization. Did he directly say go leak this, or maybe here's the other thing. Komy is suspected of leaking other things to the media, not just this one instance. So there could be a whole bunch of other incidents, because we know he was using that law school friend of his as the cutout. He would pass along information to this friend of his, and then the friend would leak it to the media. And unless you we are to believe that Komy had no idea that all the things he was telling his buddy somehow or another ended up in the Washington Post all the time. Like so, like I said, I'm willing to wait and see what the evidence is. But the fact that they got an indictment is not automatically proof of quote political retribution. Name one innocent conservative who was rotting in jail, well it would have been, well, not a conservative, but it would have been Donald Trump had had he not won, because that's where they were trying to throw him. And then Jack Smith had to drop the charges when Trump won. That's the only reason those charges against him got dropped is because he won. So, yeah, they were looking to imprison Donald Trump for the rest of his life. That was the point. And by the way. That's what the prosecutors, Alvin Bragg and Leticia James, this is what they ran on, a promise to indict and to convict Donald Trump so he couldn't be president again. That was their overt, explicit promise on the campaign trail and in the Manhattan DA's office. You'll recall one of the guys who was involved in the DOJ, Weisman I think was his name, left his gig in the DOJ and went to work in the Manhattan DA's office to prosecute Trump. And there were meetings with the White House about it. So don't tell me that Donald Trump is sort of plowing new ground here. He absolutely is not well. Like I said, this is not the going around phase of what goes around comes around. This is the coming around phase. And I told you you are not gonna like it when it does.
