Pete starts the show talking about the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and said that it's a disaster. In the next segment, a caller says if no one was held responsible for the Benghazi attack - what chance is there that Joe Biden is going to take blame for the mishandling of Afghanistan. Pete returns from break to talk about the first seven months of the Biden administration have not looked great. Pete mentions to those concerned about the influx of people being rescued from Afghanistan that they do not necessarily have to be brought back to the United States for safety - there are other countries that could harbor them. Pete wraps the hour talking about who will fill the void of being the "World Police" if the United States backs off from involving themselves in national problems around the world. To start the 1pm hour, a caller blames this younger generation in pressuring Biden to pull troops out of Afghanistan the same way the Vietnam War ended. Pete then talks about Joe Biden's arrival at the White House and what we might hear from Biden this afternoon. Pete takes calls the rest of the hour. To start the 2pm hour, Pete talks about the poor timing of Biden's pullout of Afghanistan. To wrap the show, we listen in to the Mecklenburg County Press Conference in which we learned that mask mandates are returning to the county starting this week on Wednesday.
