Pete started the show previewing what he wanted to hear today from Roy Cooper's latest COVID-19 report at 1:30pm ET. Pete then talked about how Roy Cooper's "HOPE ACT" is just putting all the pressure and costs on landlords if the eviction moratorium continues. Pete mentioned how the eviction moratoriums started under the Trump administration, and people were up in arms about it - now with Biden and the amount of control he is implementing, it's not a good thing for the country right now. It borders on fascism. Pete wrapped the hour wondering how landlords and renting in general are going to change moving forward. Are landlords going to have to start charging for six months worth of rent to new tenants to be able to pay their bills? Or will landlords be forced to sell their homes to private equity firms effectively eliminating the public housing market? Pete also pointed out that even Joe Biden has admitted that what he is doing eliminating evictions may not even be legal. In the 1pm hour, Pete continued to talk about the eviction moratorium and mentioned those that are not paying rent are probably people not actively looking for work. He said he knows someone who didn't pay their rent and yet went out and bought a brand new car. We listened in live to the Roy Cooper press conference at 1:30pm ET. Pete continued to take Roy Cooper to task saying that there's nothing new with his comments and that he continues to treat the reporters and the public like children talking down to them. Pete got frustrated with Cooper saying that he still hasn't been able to answer the question of "What is the endgame with COVID?". Pete LITERALLY answered one question a reporter had for Cooper word for word - prompting Pete to joke that HE could be governor. To start the 2pm hour, Pete wondered why Roy Cooper was so quick to go to mask mandates a year ago but why he isn't doing it now. He took a call from a landlord with over 86 tenants just in North Carolina who said he needed his rent from his tenants to pay his property tax but he wont be raising his rent either because he knows that is taking food off the table. To wrap the show, he talked about how lockdowns don't work referencing how Sweden has handled COVID-19. Support the show: https://www.patreon.com/petekalinershow
