If you're listening on the podcast, this is our number two, go back and listen to the second half of the last hour. If you want to know what I'm referencing here with caller Tony, I really got the sense of goodness and the Lord just exuding Tony's presence, you know, it just it really came through as a self described, you know, religious person, as he said he was praying all the time for the Lord to take out Donald Trump. Yeah, because that's what Christians do, although he didn't actually say Christians, so he may believe in a different kind of God maybe, so I might be assuming that, but for the record, because I know I wasn't on the air here in Charlotte in twenty fifteen, in twenty sixteen, in twenty seventeen and twenty eighteen, In twenty nineteen and then twenty twenty when I was saying all sorts of critical things about Donald Trump, I was not a fan of Donald Trump. In twenty fifteen, I told my boss at the time up in Ashville that I might very well lose my job over this election because I was going full bore against Donald Trump in their GOP primary. I brought out all of the stuff that you could think, all of the attacks, all of the information from the bankruptcies to the eminent domain stuff, to the affiliations with the no neck Eastern Europe bodyguards that would follow him around, the mafia ties. I mean, look, the guy was a casino owner in New Jersey. Give me a break. He's building buildings in the Tri state area. You think that he doesn't have connections like that. Of course he does. About the fight, the near brawl that occurred backstage at a Rolling Stones concert at one of the Trump properties because they refused to play if Trump showed up and then Trump showed up, there's going to be the big brawl, and Keith Richards was picking up a knife to go stab some people his tiny hands. That was remember that with the fight that Marco Rubio had with the tiny hands and all of that, because Trump was apparently very sensitive to it. I have gone through all of the anti Trump stuff. I have did it all and with full understanding and recognition that my audience, a majority I think of the audience wanted Trump. They wanted Donald Trump, and it put me at odds with a large portion of my audience for almost two straight years from the primary and then through the election. But when he won, it's like, okay, now let's see what happens. See here's the thing, though, I recognized that, Okay, this guy won and there are people that like him, and so I'm going to be critical of things that he does, which, by the way, I have I've like, remember we did a couple of shows here on the tariffs. Didn't think that's a great idea. So I am critical of Donald Trump. See here's the thing, though, I don't allow Donald Trump to dictate the way I think about an issue. Just because Trump says something doesn't mean I have to agree, and it doesn't mean I have to disagree. That's called Trump derangement syndrome. It goes both directions. It goes both directions. People think in terms of oh a TDS is only you know people who hate Trump. No. No, it goes the other direction too. When anything that Trump says you have to believe because Trump said it. No, then you're allowing this man right to control your brain as well. Don't let anybody do that. Right. He's going to be wrong on some things, He's going to be right on some things. Make your own assessments. Been very clear about that. See but Tony, he doesn't listen to every single you Know episode, which is very hurtful because you can download the podcast for free at the peapod dot com and then you can hear me talk about the various things. See here's here. Here's one of the things that I sort of try to use as a as a guiding star for myself is and this is in in not just the aspect of doing the show, but in all kinds of news assessment and analysis. It is to not really talk so much about the individuals, but rather the ideas and if you if you take the individuals out of it. I'm not saying you ignore it. I'm saying if you take the individual personalities out of a particular issue, and you try to assess the issue strictly based on the merits of the idea, right, what are the arguments for and against it, what are the different angles, and then layer into that your incentives. You try to look at the people, their personalities, their you know their past performance, things that they have said, and you layer that in, and then you layer in what is as best you can tell the the incentives that these people may have to take various positions. But I also try not to ascribe motive, which Tony seems perfectly willing and happy to do when it comes to Donald Trump. And the motive is always evil, right, But that's another thing, is like when you're talking about human beings, we're complex, right. People do things that are good and they do things that are bad. And so this black and white view that Trump said something or Trump did something, and so there and I hate Trump, and so therefore it's because fill in the blank. You're ascribing a motive as Tony did there ascribing a motive to Donald Trump, which was racism. He said he's racist. And what was his example, Well, that he took money from it's what charity program or aid program or grant program that affected minorities. And what did I say in response? I said, they're cutting stuff for everybody. It's across the board, it's every department. They're trying to cut everything, so it's not targeted. And he didn't care about that. It didn't matter. Facts shall not matter, because once I ascribe the motive of racism, then I reject all information. There is no difference here in the mental protocol that Tony is running than conspiracy theorists. They take all information and the information that supports their theory they incorporate, they adopt and believe it to be true, and if there's any evidence that proves otherwise, then that becomes evidence of their conspiracy in that somebody must have planted it. Right, They come up with excuses to ignore it, to dismiss it. Oh, that's what they want me to think, right, is so it becomes an unprovable theory or unfalsifiable. That's what Tony is trapped in. And it's sad to me. That's sad, especially when you think of like how much anger he must carry, and misery he must experience to have all of these thoughts and feelings tied to a single guy up in Washington, d C. That Tony has no way to influence or impact. He's impotent and it's just impotent rage. And that's said. And so I'll pray for you, Tony, for healing, for guidance, right for comfort and peace, because you shouldn't let you shouldn't let other people dictate your emotions and your feelings on a day to day basis. But this is a problem I think with so much of the folks on the left. This is where they live because they don't handle loss in elections very well. They just don't. No, I'm not saying everybody on the right does either, but by and large people on the left, I mean, you guys call yourselves the resistance. You're being led around by a bunch of overgrown theater kids that are captive to their emotions, that are stunted. Grow up, seriously, grow up, think for yourselves. And everything that Donald Trump says doesn't have to be evil or incorrect. He can say things that are incorrect, sure, I know he does. However, not everything he says. And you could be wrong too. Always keep that point in mind. You could be wrong as well. All right, if you're listening to this show, you know I try to keep up with all sorts of current events, and I know you do too, And you've probably heard me say get your news from multiple sources. Why well, because it's how you detect media bias, which is why I've been so impressed with ground News. Boy, do I have a lot of messages regarding Tony call her Tony D S. Stewart says, Tony qualifies as a great candidate for the Charlotte City Council. It's all a distraction, It's a Pete tweet. It's all a distraction, says Will Tony believe Uh? Oh, will Tony believe it? Out of Pelosi's own mouth? I doubt it, but yes, Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi on not having the National Guard at the Capitol on January sixth, quote, I take responsibility for not having them. Just prepare for more. Andy says, Tony needs to know that the Capitol police up in d C had asked Pelosi for the national Guard. It was well over an hour before she gave a response, which was no. And then Michael says, Tony using his direct connection to God to destroy what he dislikes. It's amazing. He openly admits that he prays that God basically kills Trump, as we say in the South, bless his heart. Yeah, there is a certain kind of derangement delusion. I think when people think that somehow or another they can call upon God to kill people for them. I think you've got that relationship inverted. You know. Again, I'm not sure what religion he is or thinks he is, but that does not comport with with any iteration of Christianity that I've heard. The Hellian calls it trump arousal syndrome. Yeah that, yeah, that might be closer to the Russ says, it's probably not fair. But the pattern I'm seeing in your callers has me questioning actual longtime friends of mine who are named Tony. That. Yeah, there are a couple of them some emails now. Jason says, the left have an issue with how they see themselves. They see themselves as ultimate good, so anything that opposes them is bad, and in the service of accomplishing something good, it is okay to do something that is bad. It's a progressive paradox. Yeah, I've talked about this too. This was the you know, the framing of Donald Trump as literally Hitler, right, And it was the same thing during the punch and nas punch a Nazi craze. And in philosophy there's and ethics discussion, there's a there's a long time example. You know, you have a time machine, you can go back in time and do you kill baby Hitler? Right, that's the question, and then you test various responses based on ethics and such and whatever. And I'm not going to get into the actual you know, hashing out of the question. But when you give a permission structure under this heading of so and so is Hitler and all their supporters are Nazis, you've now created the permission structure to do any manner of things because you've elevated this person to like the worst person that ever walked the earth, responsible for tens of millions of people's deaths. And so, now, what wouldn't you do to prevent the next holocaust? What wouldn't you do to save the lives of ten million people? Now? I would also point out that they never play this game with Stalin. They never play this game with Marx, Karl Marx, not Richard like. But they never play this game with those figures. It's always Hitler because to the left, Hitler is of the right, even though he was a socialist national socialist. And then they reject that too. Socialism has never really been tried, you know. So that's the reason why they've got this violence fetish that has been bubbling up and has now rerupted. Whether it's you know, on college campuses, whether it's you know, dousing people with gasoline because they're Jewish. You know, whatever the rationale is they are murdering a healthcare CEO in the middle of the street, doesn't matter. They because they've given themselves permission to do these things because you are so evil, and they are the determiners of what is evil. They're not evil. Your evil. You want to stop me from, you know, if I'm on the left and you want to stop me from, you know, pumping some thirteen year old with hormones and you know, having them go through transition surgeries and stuff, and you want to stop me from doing that, Well, that makes you the evil person, right. They are always the hero or the victim, never the villain. Never the villain. Kirk wants to know what is it with dudes named Tony who call your show? Oh, I don't know, I don't know, and this is from you, I don't know who this is from Steve. Tony's Trump derangement syndrome is so bad that he has justified in his mind that it's okay to pray for somebody to be killed. This has to be a new level of low. I don't know what Bible Tony reads, but it can't be the same one that I read. He's so messed up that he can't stand the thought that Trump could be saved and would be in heaven with him. How backwards thinking is that if he thinks Trump is that bad, instead of praying that he comes to know the Lord instead, yeah, instead of praying that he comes to know the Lord as a savior, he's praying for him to be killed. I don't care how you justified medical or not. That's wrong. Yeah. See, Tony thought he was being clever by having this little carve out. No, no, no, I'm not saying somebody needs to do go do something to him. I'm just hoping that God does it like That's That's not a carve out, Tony. Doesn't work like that, doesn't work like that. John says, I am still not sure that Trump is good for the country. I do, however, believe he is great for bringing out the true colors of the left, and that's good for the country. Already, so we've got some fiery but mostly peaceful protest slash riots slash rallies scheduled for around America. They are already underway. It's kind of a staggered start, if you will. But like, for example, we had one the other day right here in Charlotte. I mean nobody really came, but still they had one. Yeah. So East Charlotte resident Vincent Colb is interviewed by The Charlotte Observer by Abby Pender, and Colb says his grandmother crossed the border without documentation so illegally. She was an illegal alien one hundred years ago, and her dream was simple to not get caught. No, I'm kidding, it was a better life for her children. That's the real immigrant story of America, not the one that is being purposed and propagandized by the current administration. See there you go. That's what we call in rhetoric. That is a false dichotomy. It is a false choice. I have more than two options, right, your abuela story that she crossed just for a better life. And then there are also some who cross for different reasons like human trafficking, drug smuggling, set up operations across the border to expand their criminal enterprise. There are different reasons why people come. I don't have to pick between whatever two choices you want me to choose from. So Vincent joined about forty people. Forty there are tens of us okay, outside of the Charlotte Mecklelberg Government Center on Monday to rally against ice raids across the country and President Donald Trump's deployment of the National Guard in Los Angeles. Yeah, so we're to the reporter here, Abby Pender and all reporters covering this story. When people go out and say that they are protesting the ice raids, what they are protesting is the enforcement of law. And honestly, it's not that big of a surprise. These are the same people that were protesting five years ago law enforcement officers. So it's very much on brand to oppose enforcement of the law. Right California, So I went over the details on the California Attorney General Rob Bunta, who sued over the deployment of the National Guard and they wanted an injunction to stop it. They lost. That case will be heard tomorrow. And there's another guy, the lead organizer for the Charlotte rally, Jacob Plittman, lead organizer with SEIU thirty two BJ I guess that's the chapter he said today. We are here to show that this is not going to fly in this country. It's not going to fly in the city of Charlotte, and we demand that they stop the reids. Okay, how about no pound sand buddy. Just because you demand it doesn't mean it happens. Just because you say it doesn't make it true. God, but I'm the SEIU. I know you got a lot of sway in California look at Los Angeles, but not so much here. Okay, just because you don't want your roles to be depleted? Oh did I mention that? Yeah? The unions, the SEIU, they benefit greatly from illegal immigration. You know who else does? The teachers Union. That may be why they are one of the organizers of the Big Rise Up Day, the nationwide Day of defiance slated for Saturday, a thousand protests. They're calling for everybody to rise up and stand in solidarity with Los Angeles. How about no on that one too. The primary organizer has received millions of dollars from George Soros. According to Corey DeAngelis, the Indivisible Project, I mentioned them last hour. One of their representatives was quoted by the Charlotte Observer as merely an activist, just an activist who was at the legislature, but also was part of Democracy Out Loud Indivisible. That's this. The Indivisible Project has received millions of dollars from George Soros and Randy Winingarden, the head of the AFT. The American Federation of Teachers just held a town hall mobilizing protest with the Indivisible Director executive director Lee Greenberg. So those are your connections the unions. Oh, and the reason why the teachers' union relies on illegal immigrants is because student enrollment. Yes, student enrollment figures are inflated when you have more legal immigrants coming into the country and sending their kids to the schools. That population count increases the amount of teachers that have to be staffed. That then increases the union's ability to extract money from their paychecks. See look for the incentives. That's what I was talking about earlier. Look for ideas try to get at what is the idea and then look at the incentive structure that exists for people to behave in certain ways that benefit themselves. Plitman, one of the the SEIU guy here in Charlotte, says the economy of the United States does not function without immigrants, saying, Charlotte grocery stores, airport operations, and cleaning services all rely on immigrant labor, right, and that's illegal. That's illegal. They're not supposed to be. Charlotte's growth, he says, is thanks to immigrant labor. He called on local officials to better support immigrants and on count community members to peacefully demonstrate. This is part of the Rising Up Day of Action. It's set for Saturday, the AFT they're calling it No King's Day. Yeah, okay, it's so stupid. I swear like theater kids are governing us. I am sick of it. I am not going to be led by theater kids. And I say that as a former theater kid myself, so I know them all right. So spring is here a time of renewal and celebration. Mail orders are accepted to get all the details that create a video dot com Dave, Welcome to the program. Hello Dave, Hey, Pete. Thanks you having a good afternoon. No, you know it's a fair to Midland. That's all right. I hear you, I hear you. Well, Hey, I got the four to one one on Tony. Oh, I've been listening. I've been listening to BT for twenty five years and he he's a call in during Larsen's show. His name is Sean. That's probably not his real name, but anyway. But he's a Sean too. Yeah, he's Sean, and he used a couple of names on on. But I know the voice he called in so many times on Martians show. I know the way. It's the same guy. It's the same guy. He's just if I can call him this. He's just a twarp. I hope the SEC doesn't call you. No, No, you're fine. Twarp is totally allowed to. Yeah, he's just a he's a twarp seminar caller. Yeah, no, anyway. I know I appreciate it. It look I like, I know when somebody when I start engaging with him and he starts saying the stuff he says, like, I know how the call is going to go, And so all I do is, you know, I let him. I let him try to make his argument. Of course he doesn't, he's incapable of doing so. But I do it because I want people to hear Dave hung up. Thanks for the call, Dave, I do it because I want people to hear. Because I get messages from people that say, why do you let him on? I hate him, he's terrible, he's an idiot, whatever. You shouldn't waste time with him. But see, I want to hear it. I want to hear what they're saying. This is why I look at what they say on social media. I read their publications, right, I want to see all of the angles. I want to hear their arguments. And that's why when people like Tony or Sean whatever his name is, when he calls in and people you know of that political philosophy call in, I am not blindsided by their arguments. I already know what their argument is, already know the weaknesses of their arguments. That's the point. And I do that so this way, hopefully you hear these arguments and the way I engage with the argument and the person making it, and that equips you. That's the point. That's what I like, seriously, and I have never been shy about telling people like I do not have those debates with Tony or Sean or whoever, like I don't have those debates in order to convince him that he is wrong I'm doing it for the other people that are hearing the debate. Some people may get something out of it. Oh that's a good argument. Oh that's a good response. Oh Pete really screwed that one up. He should have said this something else. Whatever. That's the reason I do it, and that's the reason I try to be as prepared as I can be after, you know, only working three hours a day, as I am known to do. Community members are calling on Charlotte Mecklenburg schools to do more to protect immigrant students. Once again, Charlotte Observer, this is reporter Rebecca Noel. It's not immigrant students, it's illegal immigrant students. Illegal immigrant students because if they are birthright citizenship kids, they were born in America. Well, they're not immigrant students, they're Americans. So your headline groups ask CMS permission to pass out immigration information. And then the story begins that they want CMS to do more to protect immigrant students after a parent was detained near a school this month, like, oh, it's just some parent, right again. This muddying of the truth journalisms students are doing it is so destructive. This is why people don't trust you. They go on to say a key point for multiple public speakers at the recent Board of ED meeting is that CMS is the only school district of the twenty largest in the nation that prohibits community organizations from giving out know your Rights information to families. That's according to an analysis by Amy Hawn Nelson, an education researcher at the University of Pennsylvania who lives in Charlotte. That's a nice gig, I guess. The information typically tells people, regardless of immigration status, how to exercise their rights, particularly when interacting with law enforcement and immigration officials. Parents and community organizers, of course, said they've been prohibited from distributing information about people's immigration rights. Organizers said the district claim the materials provided legal guidance and therefore violated policy. Yeah that you're not allowed to provide legal guidance because you're not a lawyer. All right, that'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening. I could not do the show without your support and the support of the businesses that advertise on the podcast, So if you'd like, please support them too and tell them you heard it here.
