All Right, so we have the no Kings protesting that occurred mostly peaceful. I mean, yes, there had to be some pepper spray deployed, and yes there were some violent outbreaks, but it was mostly peaceful. You know, think about all of the piece that wasn't violent, right, just always got to look at the silver lining on this stuff. So yeah, we had, you know, some some violence in Seattle, had a shooter in Utah. Los Angeles also so violent Charlotte. They got pepper sprayed in Charlotte too. So you got the no Kings thing going on, you know, with all of the imagery like the pinnatas. I think that's how you say that pinata of Donald Trump and you know, having kids with bats just go to town beaten the pinata. Yeah, that's totally healthy behavior to be instilling in your child, right to be attacking effigies and such. Oh that we also had here. This was Eric Swallwell. He apparently spoke at one of these things. Donald Trump is America's hitler. Yeah, so it sounds well attended. Yeah, is America's hitler. That's yeah, Donald Trump is America's hitler. Yeah. So this is the the cool rhetoric, right, not at all hot, not fiery. No such thing as stochastic terrorism, except, of course, when a deranged man murders two people and attempts to murder two others up in Minnesota. This maniac. I don't even like giving these people's names, so I'm not going to call him Maya his name. I'm just going to call him the maniac. This guy, he's making a court appearance I think today at some point. He shot two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses in what CBS News says is politically motivated shootings. Early Saturday morning. He was finally caught. There was this man hunt over the weekend. They caught him. The fifty seven year old maniac was taken into custody after being located in the woods near his home in green Isle, Sibley County, on Sunday night, shortly before ten pm, the Ramsey County Sheriff's office posted a picture on social media of him being taken into custody, and the Sheriff's office said, quote the face of evil. So he targeted Minnesota Representative Melissa Hortman, a Democrat, and her husband Mark, who was a Raleigh native, went to NC State for a couple of years and then graduated from UNC. They were shot and killed in their Brooklyn Park home. And then there was State Senator John Hoffman, also a Democrat, and his wife Yvette. They were then shot in their home in Champlain. Actually, I think I have that reverse. I think they were attacked first. Tim Walls told a governor. Tim Walls told a news conference Sunday night that John Hoffman is out of the final surgery, is moving towards recovery, as is Ivette Hoffman. So they both survived, which is pretty amazing, because I think I have it here. She told a friend of hers, who then posted it on social media, that she had been hit like seven times. Seven rounds hit her and her husband was hit eight times and they both survived, according to the criminal complaint. This is according to the Star Tribune. The first nine one one call was made by one of the children of John and Ivette Hoffman after they were shot multiple times. Champlain police responded to the Hoffman residence at two h five am after receiving the nine to one one call, so they were the first targets. Surveillance footage from the home showed a dark Ford SUV with police lights in the driveway. It showed the maniac approached the door in a mask, wearing a blue shirt, police vest and badge. He was holding a gun as he approached the door. After he shot John and Ivette Hoffman, he fled in the suv. After Brooklyn Park Police learned the shooting victim in Champlain the Hoffman's and he was a state legislator, officers then proactively went to the Hortman residence. They arrived there at three point thirty five a m. And they see the Ford Suv in the driveway. An officer watches as the maniac shot Mark Hortman through the front door. After an exchange of gunfire, the maniac retreats through the house and somehow escapes. Officers find Melissa and Mark Hortman, both dead inside the home. When police searched the maniac's vehicle, they found three AK forty seven rifles, a nine milimeter handgun, and a list of aims and addresses of public officials. Further searches in the area located a ballistic vest, a disassembled nine millimeter firearm. I don't know why you would disassemble that, Like, he's obviously running and he's like ditching the vest. He's like trying to change his appearance. He I don't know why you disassemble the firearm. Maybe so nobody else will use it for bad purposes or something. I don't want a kid to find it. I don't know. They found the mask and the gold police badge. Four of the firearms recovered by police were purchased by the shooter. A person who was familiar with the maniac also spoke with investigators and positively identified him as the man on the surveillance footage from the Hoffman's home in Champlain. US Senator Yeah US Senator Amy Klobaschar shared a message early Sunday evening from Ivette Hoffman that disclosed that John Hoffman took nine bullet hits. I took eight. There is never a place for this kind of political hate. Thank you for your friendship. Always, Minnesota's are at their very best when we stand together. They do not have the death penalty in Minnesota. But for this guy, yeah, I think for this guy, you could make an exception. Maybe charge him under some federal law, you know, maybe go after him at the federal level. The BCA superintendent, I forget what that what that title is. It's someplace here and to do bc A. Well, he's the BCA superintendent. His name is Drew Evans, and I think they do like the searches and stuff up in Minnesota. Here it is Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Okay, so he's in charge of the BCA, Drew Evans. He was asked at a news conference of authorities believe the shooter was getting any kind of of assistance, and he said the suspect had been in contact with other people, but could not say if they were actively providing him assistance. Asked why the BCA detained the shooter's wife and other relatives outside a convenience store, Evan said they did so to one to try to understand what's going on that will help us complete the investigation. The shooter's wife and relatives cooperated with authorities in providing information, and they were released from custody, so it does not appear that he had anybody helping him, you know, stay on the run over the week. So this happens on Saturday, early Saturday morning, so I'm seeing you know, the news reports and you know, the coverage throughout Saturday, and then you know Sunday as well. They caught him Sunday night last night, so the whole weekend, you know, once again, public service announcement in the wake of any kind of this, any kind of a shooting like this, just wait for more information to develop, okay, because people raced to their social media accounts to try to, you know, pin this on a political party or you know, Donald Trump, or no, he's a he's a Trump hater, no, he's a Trump lover, whatever, and and you don't you don't know the answers to these questions in the immediate aftermath of this event. All right, if you're listening to this show, you know, I try to keep up with all sorts of current events, and I know you do too, and you've probably heard me say get your news from multiple sources. Why Well, because it's how you detect media bias, which is why I've been so impressed with ground News. It's an app and it's a website and it combines news from around the world in one place, so you can compare coverage and verify information. You could check it out at check dot ground, dot news slash pete. I put the link in the podcast description too. So we are now going to be entering the cycle of stochastic terrorism the news cycle. You're going to start hearing stochastic terrorism again. That's my prediction because of the maniac up in Minnesota that assassinated the former Speaker of the House in the state legislature and her husband and then also try to murder another sitting state lawmaker, both Democrats, and so now the left, can you use this to say that the language of Republicans and Donald Trump specifically, that has inspired this murderer to do this murder and therefore everybody needs to stop talking about whatever it is that you're talking about. You're responsible, they're not responsible. Like, for example, when you say Donald Trump is America's Hitler, like Eric Swalwell did at that No King's Rally, When you do that, that's that's not stochastic terrorism. Calling somebody hitler, that's not You're not inspiring people to be afraid, right, I mean you're saying somebody is hitler, and we all know how that worked out. So I think it's pretty clear what they are doing. I think it's pretty clear the anger and animus that they are fomenting. And if you want to blame Donald Trump for the guy shooting the state lawmakers in Minnesota, then for consistency sake, you have to then also attribute all of the violence on the left, and We've been documenting it for years. I've been pointing this out that the left has this violence fetish. You guys, aren't You aren't addressing it, And into the space enters Thomas Mills. Thomas Mills was a Democrat consultant guy. I've interviewed him. Heck, I have it. I had him fill in one time for me on my radio show in Ashville. It did not go well for him, but he you know, he did it. The callers just dragged him for three straight hours. But he has been the purveyor of a website called Politics and c and he makes the argument today that well, the headline says, both sides are not the same. All the violence is it's all on the right, and you guys are the big problem, and we don't have this problem on the left. That's what he's making this argument. And on the rare occasions when it happens, we condemn it. We automatically come right down and condemn it. Right, I've not seen anybody celebrating these murders. I've seen nothing like that from the right. I saw rushing in to say this guy was a Governor Wall's appointment, so he's probably a Democrat, and that was not true. He was an appointment, but it didn't mean anything. People try to make sense of these irrational evil acts and they project into these stories their own biases, and Thomas is doing that here. I'll give you some of the highlights. But there's also another story, and it came out of Wake County one of their marches, the No Kings thing. There's a state representative named Julie von Haathen, Democrat from Wait County, and she made a video of the various signs that were at the march, and one of the signs that she highlighted, a woman is holding this banner and it says, in these difficult times, more cuts may be necessary. And then there's a guillotine and detached off the sides of the banner are heads, one Donald Trump and one not really sure. I think it may be Stephen Miller. It could also be Elon Musk. Not sure because there's a and there's a swastika drawn on the forehead of the other head. And this is what the Way Democrat thought was hilarious, took a picture of and posted it. Outrage ensued, she deleted her accounts. I think John actually has some thoughts on this, Hey, John, welcome to the show. I was actually looking at that and some other miserable, well not really miserable humorous failures from some of the Democrats this weekend, thek Royan Cabari's Young Democrats tried to drag someone because they got a thousand people out of almost eighty thousand registered Democrats and post three hundred thousand people in Rowan and Caberras, they got a thousand still up for their rally here. And then the millennial head of the Democrat Party decides she was gonna wear a black tennis for the protest. What okay? So no, but yeah, and then Julie decides to show us just how moderate and senris she is. By uh. Coming out, a coming out and the revolution for her idea of changing politics. Right in these difficult times, more cuts may be necessary. So yeah, we're gonna have to start. We're gonna to start murdering people's that's the banner, That's what she was marching under, and that's what Julie von haythen tweeted out and then got such blowback that she deleted her account. Here's a great idea, how about making an escape to a really special and secluded getaway in western North Carolina. Just a quick drive up the mountain and Cabins of Asheville is your connection. I find it insufferable to be lectured by people that find every excuse for political violence for their team committed by their team. They will excuse it, they will accept it, they will defend it, they'll offer the I'm not censorshipman, done, but and then they proceed to explain why it's kind of okay. It's just that, you know, Trump had it coming. Trump led to his own assassination attempt like it's his fault. And now because of the Minnesota shooting, we're being subjected to these lectures by these excuse making people, and it's just it's unbearable. I'm just so fed up with it. It all needs to be condemned, all of it. And you don't get to, you know, bash the pinatas of Donald Trump and show the posters of guillotines while saying, how dare you chant hang Mike Pence? Right, that's an inconsistent standard. I said from the very beginning on January Well, I guess it would have been this seventh January seventh, the day after the riots, completely unacceptable. And I still don't know, and nobody does what that mob at the Capitol might have done if they actually had gotten Mike Pence. I don't know what they would have done. That's the thing about mobs, it's the thing about riots. Right, So I can be consistent on this. You shouldn't be doing any of that. You don't do that. Let me go over here and chat with Ray. Hello, Ray, Welcome to the show. Hey, Hey, hey, I wanted to help the left and the Democrats out. They can pretty much more effectively ensure their political survival if they'll just adopt a new protest attitude and instead of having a no King's protest, have a no breaking the law protest. Hmmm. That would that would well, I don't know if they broke many laws Saturday. Some some did. But you're you're ignoring all of the peaceful protesters, right, just because a couple of hundred here there around the country, you know, got into you know, some violence. It was fire. The peaceful protest did slip my mind? Yeah, boy, yeah, yeah, that's all right, It's okay. It's a no. I appreciate its something that's a good piece of advice. Just don't break any laws protesting. That's a good idea. This is I mentioned Thomas Mills. And by the way, let me just do a refresh real fast on this w R a L website. And no, they still haven't covered the the Julie von Hafen story. This is WRAL. They still haven't gave They still haven't done a single report on Representative Julie von Haythen who published this video. She made a video she took pictures at the No King's protest in Raleigh and then stitched them together, edited the pictures together into a video, and then she put it up on her Instagram page. And one of the pictures shows this protester holding this banner, big picture of a guillotine. What appears to be like some I think there may I think those are like dead bodies at the bottom of the guillotine. I can't really make it out. It's pretty small and it says in these difficult times, more cuts may be necessary. And then the banner is being like she's got a long bar that the banner is wrapped around and she's either end of the bar. Are these two like life size heads, one Donald Trump and one either Elon Musk or Stephen Miller I don't know. And the the Musk or Miller head has a Nazi swastika drawn on its forehead and she posts it up outrage incies, she deletes it, she deletes her account on Twitter and h and she has apologized. So this is now Thomas Mills at politics NC dot com saying that the shooter up in Minnesota was radicalized by MAGA and info Wars, according to his roommate and self described best friend, Yeah, there's there. I don't understand all of the like, what's going on with that part of the story, edam In. So I don't understand that, he says. The political violence in the country is out of control. I agree. We are more violent than we've been since the nineteen sixties. Only one party promotes violence, though, and it's not the Democrats. Really, Tom, really, you guys just coordinated a day of protest where like, on the heels of all of the violent anti ice protesting, you guys have been taking to the streets and engaging in this kind of action for years, he says, So this is what he believes is true for years Republicans have been trying to create a false narrative about Democrats supporting or encouraging political violence. They blamed the George Floyd riots on the party. They tried to tie Luigi Mangione to the party. They have blamed the anti Simmy violence of the attack on Jews in Colorado and the murder of a young Israeli embassy workers on leftists. Yes, yeah, correct, you are that is correct because that is what he was like. He is in denial or he's trying to gaslight us that there is not this leftist Islamist coalition, this ally ship. All right, So spring is here a time of renewal and celebrations. You got graduations, weddings, anniversaries and especial days for mom and dad. Your family's making memories that are going to last a lifetime. But let me ask you, are all of those treasured moments from days gone by? Creative Video Preserving Family Memories since nineteen ninety seven, located in mint Hill, just off four eighty five. Mail orders are accepted to get all the details that create a video dot com. Russ sends a message the standard excuse me. The standard seems pretty consistent for their side. They are the ultimate good. Anyone opposing is the ultimate evil. Their go anything goes for them, right. This is the permission structure that they have fostered. And Thomas Mills is sort of a perfect example of the wilful blindness. This is that's not happy way, We don't do that. Stochastic terrorism only occurs among Republicans. They even came up with the term to apply it to Republicans. And what's most insulting and that Tom does not mention in his list of examples about oh they tried to smear the Democrats. They're creating this false narrative. None of it's true, he says. The riots in twenty twenty were a national reaction of years of young, unarmed black men dying at the hands of police or vigilantes, not calls to action by Democratic leaders. No Democrats ever encouraged Luigi Mangioni by urging violence against health insurance executives. Do you remember after that murder? Did you ever go and read the comments section see social media posts? The left celebrated it. That's the permission structure. I've got audio from Senator Chris Murphy who now is saying that this is all Trump's fault, the murder up in Minnesota, this is all US fault, Trump's fault. But after Mangione murdered the healthcare CEO, he had a different tone, a bit of a different tone. He says. Republicans are urged by their leader to see Democrats as enemies and evil. Do you remember Joe Biden's red speech that he gave in Philadelphia? Remember that I do? Or how about this June fourteenth, we just had the eight year anniversary of the Congressional baseball shooting. June fourteenth, twenty seventeen, James Hodgkinson, a Bernie bro sixty six year old guy, shot four people, including then US House Majority whip Steve Scalise, try to assassinate a very large number of Republican lawmakers on a softball field. That was June fourteenth. Tom doesn't mention that. Tom doesn't mention Donald Trump being nearly assassinated twice, doesn't mention any of those see, because that doesn't fit with this narrative that he's pushing. That narrative being it's only coming from one side. That's literally his argument the headline, both sides are not the same. Political violence is coming to a head in the country, says, but on only one side is it directed at power? Again, like the gaslighting here is amazing. You had Trump survived two assassination attempts, and where to believe that the left is not taking its shot at power? Really, the violence from riots and protests is reactionary, sporadic, and mostly random. Oh that makes it okay? Then sure? You got leftists out in the street, pelting ice agents with bricks, setting buildings on fire. Yeah, it's mostly random. It's not spurred by calls for action from a major political party. The hell it isn't. You got Democrat lawmakers getting arrested while trying to block ICE operations. You're telling me that's not a permission structure. All the violence on college campuses run by and perpetuated by people on the left, these weren't conservatives. This wasn't MAGA setting up their tentifata. The perpetrators of violence from the left are routinely and vociferously condemned by Democrat leaders and the Democrat right that Julie von Haefen has had zero mensions. I've seen nothing from Democrats in this state, state party chair, any of her colleagues. Nobody is saying anything. WRAL isn't even covering the story. There was nothing in the news. And observer tell me that it's raining while I see you whizzing on my boots. Let me get Bob on real quick here. Hey Bob, Hey. Pete, what a great show man. Thanks, thanks. I'm you know, uh, I just kept saying that breaking the law is is is is the wrong part, right, I mean, that's what's wrong is when somebody breaks the law. You know, if I if I don't lock my doors and something gets stolen. It's not my fault, it's you're not supposed to steal, right and and and I just I just know that, you know, the left tends to protect that idea that it's somebody else's fault, that it's somebody it's not it's it's not it's my fault for unlocked, for for keeping my door with unlocked. And you know, a matter of fact, I believe the Charlotte Police Department have a law where if I don't lock my doors, I can get a ticket. Well, you can get in a lot of trouble if you get a gun stole out of your car that was unlocked. Yeah, so, Bob, I gotta run, I gotta run. I gotta run up against the news. I appreciate the call. It's a great point. All right. That'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening. I could not do the show without your support and the support of the businesses that advertise on the podcast, So if you'd like, please support them too and tell them you heard it here.
