Parents mad at ICE enforcement near a school should blame the sheriff (05-20-2025--Hour2)

This episode is presented by Create A Video – After an ICE apprehension near an East Charlotte school last week, parents and activists are demanding that operations not occur near the building. But Border Czar Tom Homan says the reason the agents are making arrests out in the public because the Mecklenburg County Sheriff has not cooperated with ICE and transferred illegal aliens while they've been house at the jail. So The Charlotte Observer reports in a piece that is funded by the Just Trust Foundation, nonprofit lefty. But the Observer maintains full editorial control of its journalism, they say, But story by Ryan Orley immigration and Customs enforcement activity in the Charlotte area spite last week according to Carolina Migrant Network. I don't know what the Carolina Migrant Network is. Maybe they will explain what this is in the story. I'm just kidding. They probably won't, but that would be helpful context. The nonprofit runs a hotline community members can call to report suspected ICE activity. Is that all it does? So okay? The Carolina Migrant Network runs a hotline that community members in Carolina. Both Carolinas one just Charlotte. What they run a hot line for people to avoid law enforcement detection. Right, that's what you're saying. That's what they're doing. ICE is going around picking up people that have been arrested for violent offenses, and you're running a hotline to let people know where ICE is so they can avoid ICE. Okay. On a typical week, they say there may be two to four phone calls, the co founder, Stefania Artega said at a press conference Monday at the nonprofits office in Charlotte. I wonder where they get their funding from they can afford an office, she said. Since last Monday, her staff has received one hundred and thirty three calls, so way more. Okay, Yes, that seems like it would indicate that there is a stepped up ICE operation in progress. Now, I know this might be a bit unusual because for the last four years, ICE hasn't been doing really any of this at all, Right, she said, these are just the phone calls. That doesn't include the Facebook messages, WhatsApp messages, individual direct messages that we have received reporting ICE activities, ICE and ICE detentions in our community. By the way, this is why I mentioned this before. This is why the ICE agents and the other law enforcement officers that are coordinating and working with ICE on some of these arrests. This is why they wear masks. They what do they call them, the gators. They pull them up over the it's a it's like a little neck scarf thing and they pull it up over their their nose. It's not because their COVID afraid. No, they don't want to be docksed. They don't want to be threatened. Their homes address put out on the internet so people can then go and attack them, attack their family, attack their home, because that's what's occurred. So that and that's why they wear the masks, which of course then the height of hilarity with the leftists saying you should not be wearing a mask as they parade around towns torching things and masks, right, okay. Arrests have been mainly in Charlotte, and in particular near Central Avenue, Albemarle Road and North Tryon Street. Other arrests happened in the South Boulevard, Pineville, Connapolis, Concord, and Monroe areas. She did not have exact numbers for how many people have been detained, but said they were high and unusual. The way ICE carried out arrests last week was also quote extremely concerning. We have seen detentions in close proximity to schools, not just one, but a couple. Well, the schools are kind of all over the place, you know, so and there isn't any rule or law against picking somebody up outside of a school. Even under the sensitive location policy, you could still pick people up outside of a building. Work vans and vehicles have also been targeted, and agents have been aggressive. She said, ICE's arrests in Charlotte have become increasingly public and that's because of Sheriff Gary. Not my fault, mcfannin, that's his fault. If you are worried about the site of these detentions, these transfers could occur in the jail, but our sheriff doesn't want to fully cooperate with ICE, and so ICE is forced to go out and send teams of you know, five, six seven agents out there and to track people down and arrest them. That's how they have to go about doing their arrests to get these people deported because the sheriff is not fully cooperating. In fact, the other day somebody said I should watch the Sean Ryan Show. It's a podcast, and I have seen several episodes of his program. It's on YouTube. He's a former Navy seal guy, and he does long form interviews, like he sits down with people for three hours. It's a three hour podcast. And I was talking actually with Brett Winterable about this. Brett's on three to seven here on WBT, and you know, during the studio handoff, I was telling him yesterday about this this show, and I'd watched it over the weekend, and you know, we were talking about the length of that podcast being three hours, Like, what kind of a monster does a three hour show? Right? That's uh? But but no. Part of it is that when you sit for some for so long in a conversation, especially with like politicians who are very usually skilled at tap dancing around a question and not answering it. You know, when you sit for a three hour conversation, eventually those defense mechanisms they break down. It's just so hard to keep that up for three hours. So I watched this interview that that Sean Ryan did with Tom Holman The Borders Are and I have pulled some of the highlights from this three hour conversation, and he talks about a whole range of things, but he also talks specifically about sanctuary cities. He's talking about mayors and governors, cities and states, but also sheriffs. Holman said he has been clear about his position regarding sanctuary cities, and he has been clear from day one. Oh, that's not the right sound bite. This is it the sanctuary cities and the governors, the mayors, And if you want to support sanctuary cities and that's what you want to do, then go ahead. Just don't get in our way if you don't want I would think every governor, every mayor, any city council person more responsibilities protection of the communities. I've already been clear, and President Trump's been clear from day one. We're prioritizing public safety threats and national security threats. They should be shoulder to shoulder with us on this. But their hatred for Trump, there's a portus sanctuary cities and the politics. Putting politics over public safety means more to them. I wish they'd love their communities more than they hate Trump, because we can make a difference. Bive Seid, from day one, you can now support us, you can protest us. But if you cross the line, we'll seek prosecution. If you cross the line of impeding us, that's a family. If you knowingly harbor and conceal it, it will go ailing from us. That's a family. If you interfere, we won't seek prosecution. And it's already happened to one judge, three judges. Right, two judges. Charlotte City Council and Mecklenberg County's Board of Commissioners have been largely silent on recent arrests. Earlier this month, Mayor vy Lyles declined to comment on the first arrests reported outside the county courthouse. According to the Observer, the activist crowd said that ice enforcement near schools, not in them, but near a school needs to end. Yeah, that's not going to happen. That's not going to happen. I've got more audio, ton of audio, like three hours worth of all No, I'm kidding, not fully three hours, but like two and a half. So I'm gonna try to limit my chatter and play more of the soundbites from Homan because it was a phenomenal interview. All right, if you're listening to this show, you know, I try to keep up with all sorts of current events, and I know you do too, And you've probably heard me say get your news from multiple sources. So the activists who held a news conference yesterday because they're so angry that we're deporting people with criminal records and uh, national security threats and uh you could see one of these detentions that occurred from a school, So simply seeing it off in the distance that was traumatic. They called on local officials to do what to provide clear compassionate communication about immigration rights and resources to all CMS families. Okay, like that's you got to have like two word logo here branding people. Come on, Yeah, the clear compassionate communication about immigration rights is that you do not have a right to be in the country illegally, particularly if you have been arrested or if you've been ordered deported and then you re entered. That's a felony. They said, no child should fear coming to school and losing a family member at drop off. What if dad's a murderer? Like what a dad is a citizen, He's an American board citizen. It's me, okay, what if it's me, I'm dropping the kid off at the school and I I'm wanted for murder and CMPD knows that I dropped my kid off at the school, And so they're like, hey, let's bust Pete in the drive in line or the drop offline, and can they do that? Are they allowed to do that if they're looking for me and they don't know where to find me, and they know that I'm going to be dropping off the kid at the school and I'm wanted for murder, can they do that? Is that acceptable? Or does this only apply to people who are not in the country legally. Tom Holman appearing on the Sean Ryan podcast, he said the Trump administration will not tolerate the sanctuary cities and these officials that are impeding or obstructing their ability to do their job. And so they are now what he says, flooding the zone. What sanctuary city is going to get. We're going to flood the zone. If one agent can't arrest a bad guy in the jail, I guy to sign the whole team. U see five or six guys that go ar restless persons, five or six agents to rest this person because who knows what weapons has access to rest at his turf. So if I can't arrest them in the jail safety and security of the jail, which is safe for everybody, then I got to sign a whole team in the neighborhood. If we can in wrestauran at home, they'll rest my placement employment. So we're going to blood the zone with agents and communities. We're going to increase work law enforcement operations tenfold. We're going to get them. So sanctuarous City is going to get what they want. Don't want more agents in your communities, more colla arrested, and we find a bad guy. Like I said before, we're going to wrest anybody we find during while we're looking for that guy. If we find an illegal alien and exercise that operation, they're going to go too. Because under the last administration, they told ICE immigration officers who took an oath to enforce immigration law. My orcers told ICE, you can't arrest buddy for being here illegally. They have to be arrested for a serious crime, victive a serious crime before you can take action. Maybe he wrote immigration law. Well, no, the statue is clear. We told iceations you will, I'll pull the ultry tuck. You will enforce the laws you took them all to in the forest. So if you find an illegal alien while you're looking for that bad guy, take them into custody. So again, sanctuious cities, everybody said, why are there's so many cloud arrests? Because you forced me in the neighborhood. So we're going to flood the. Zone collateral arrests. Oh the irony, right, all you activists and sanctuary city proponents. Gary McFadden, our sheriff who said, you can't you know, deportation doesn't solve the illegal immigration issue, right, You are now going to get more collateral arrests of people who are here illegally but have not been convicted of a crime or charged with a crime, or illegally re entered after being deported one time in the past or something. Because the agents are going out into the field looking for the worst of the worst, and if they come across others, they will uphold their oath, they will make arrests of other illegal immigrants. And so the very sanctuary policies that you guys have been doing is actually opening up more of the people you claim to protect or want to protect. You're opening up more of them to apprehension and deportation. Once again, it's like what is it with the lefties where it's like they say that they are for some population and then their policies and actions actually harm the people they claim to be trying to help. So when the East Charlotte PTA members get mad at Ice for arresting a guy in the child drop offline or outside the school or within a sightline of a school. Blame Sheriff Gary. Not my fault, McFadden, Blame him because had he released that person into the custody of Ice, as Ice asked, then you wouldn't see it. It would have occurred in the jail. It would not have traumatized any of the school personnel, or any of the kids, or anybody. It would have occurred in the jail, in a controlled environment. Here's a great idea. This from Fox News Cameron Arcand and Bill Malugin. United States Attorney for the District of California, Bill Asili is taking major action to crack down on sanctuary policies in the Golden State. He has launched Operation Guardian Angel, which is a task force made up of assets from ICE, HSI, DEA, FBI, atf Border Patrol and they're scanning criminal databases every single day to identify arrested illegal aliens in the local jails, so DOJ can charge these aliens with felony illegal reentry. Sheriff Gary now my fault. Macfadden is going to be so happy to hear this. This is what he has been demanding. He has been demanding that they come to him with a judicial warrant. So guess what, here they come. It's a pilot program, but according to Assie, the US Attorney in California, they've made it almost impossible for ICE to do their job issued detainers and get criminal illegal immigrants out of jails. So what we're doing instead is we're going going to start issuing warrants. We're going to flood the system with warrants for criminal illegal immigration that are in county jails. They can ignore the detainer, they cannot ignore a criminal arrest warrant. As soon as an illegal immigrant is booked into a county jail, we are reviewing their file and if they meet the elements of illegal re entry, which is a federal crime, we are filing a complaint and getting an arrest warrant issued before they are released from state custody, as Salee said that the first of its kind program will make the Golden State a testing ground for other sanctuary jurisdictions throughout the country, as the administration aims to get illegal aliens with criminal charges and convictions swiftly out of the United States. In that interview on The Sean Ryan Show, Tom Holman explained how the Biden administration hid the record illegal immigration. They did it by manipulating the reporting sets. Stem what the Biden administration did towards the end. They knew that immigration was a big issue in the election, right, so they try to claim that border numbers are way down. We fix this problems down seventy percent. No, it wasn't. They created two programs on of thin air, call them legal pathways, and they weren't legal pathways. The border numbers didn't really go down. They went down maybe seventeen percent if you count all the programs they created us. What they did was, Okay, we got millions of people come across the border illegally, so let's create the CBP one app that same illegal alien population can simply go to an app make an appointment, come to a port of entry. They won't call that a legal entry though, same population of the illegal they just bring them through the port of entry. Oh, this is a legal pathway. Thousands of people come to the port of entry. Then they created the CHNB, Cuba, Haiti, Nicarago, Venzuela. If you from those four countries, we're going to fly you straight into our airport. You don't have to go to the border. We'll fly straight into our major airport. In nineties in the United States, thirty thousand a month of those. Thirty thousand a month, Yeah, thirty thousand a month. So they create these two pathways and then they wash those numbers off of the illegal crossings so it shows, oh, look at that, it's down. It's not down. They just did it through an app in Los Angeles. They plan to file up to fifty warrants a week in that jurisdiction. They have already filed three hundred and fifty since Trump took office, and the US Attorney says they'll have no choice. They will comply, and if they don't comply, if they interfere in our ability to arrest a federal felon, they can expect to face consequences for that felony. Re Entry was largely not prosecuted during the Biden administration. Right, McFadden has always said this. He has always said that this is the only way he'll comply. Right, show me a warrant. If you have a writ or a warrant from a judicial official, from a judge, then absolutely well we'll hand them over to you. But ice detainers are administrative, not judicial, and that was his little loophole. And so the faster they roll this out, then the less likely you're going to see the apprehensions occurring out in the public. Homan said that on an average day under Joe Biden, border patrol saw eighteen hundred godaways per day, eighteen hundred a day, and those are the known god aways. These are the ones that you see them, but you can't get to them, and so they get away. Eighteen hundred a day. Now, Holman says forty not forty thousand, forty four zero, that's it. Apprehensions. Under Biden, it was about ten to twelve thousand apprehensions a day, but then they were released. In Trump's first one hundred days, the administration has released nine. Four were witnesses that they specifically were allowed in so they could testify. Four were medical cases where they had to take them for treatments and stuff, and one was a discretionary release for a humanitarian reason. Nine By comparison Biden's first one hundred days one hundred eighty four thousand and again they got released into the country. And that's why the deportation operations are so massive. There were so many people that were permitted to come in under the last four years the Biden administration. That's why you're seeing what you're seeing now. The left so out they're saying, well, now we're raiding schools and churches and in hospitals because we did away with a sense of location policy. We did away the sensitive location policy of the companies number were there only enforcement agency that had such a policy? Did you know that FBI don't have that policy, DA don't have that policy atf None of these federal agencies have a policy where you can't arrest somebody on a school ground or a hospital or someplace else. And why do we do away with it? Because there is no sanctuary on the President Trump, there's no sanctuary for criminal islands, public safety threats, or national security threats in this country. And those are mean we're going to raid a school. But if we have an MS thirteen gang member that's a senior at this high school over here, and we've been looking for him, we can't find, But all of a sudden, we know that he's attending class here right now. Significant public safety threat. We're going to go arrest that guy with the assistance of the local authorities. Doesn't mean we're sweeping the school. Means we're taking one bad guy out, and more than likely we're gonna wait from the lead class. But the left takes it all. They're going to sweep schools, they're going to sweep hospitals, they're going to sweep you know, churches. It's ridiculous. But if there's a national security threat mass right now that we've been looking for, we know he's right now in a mass, we're going to arrest them. There's no sanctuary for public safety threats or national security threats in this country under President Trump. So that's why. But again the media takes that so and I'm reading stories about you know, teachers, you know, elementary school teachers no teaching their children, and other school school board members and other teachers how to defy ice they show for your school. It's just a vilification and we know it's coming. The vilification of Ice, vilification of Trump, vilification of me, which I don't care. I mean, I really don't care what people think about me because I know I'm doing the right thing. So you can hate on me all you want. Matter of fact, I get disappointed when an event there's not protesters. I'm a little disappointed. I actually like protesters, which is the exact right mindset to have to do this job. Going over some of the latest developments on the immigration front. Out in Los Angeles, California, there is an operation being run called Operation Guardian Angel Task Force, where they are various law enforcement agencies. Federal agencies are going through all of the local criminal databases every single day, identifying illegal aliens that have been arrested and then putting out arrest warrants, getting the warrants from judges. If they have been deported already, they're re entering right, so they're targeting the ones who would be exposed to felony charges, and so it's like this is a stepped up level of enforcement. According to Fox News, if you've previously been deported, you come back right then you've committed a federal felony under eight USC thirteen twenty six, known as illegal re entry. As soon as the task Force identify if an alien booked into a local jail who has a previous deportation, they seek a federal criminal warrant on them for a felony re entry signed off on by a federal judge. Unlike an administrative ICE warrant or ICE detainer request, these criminal judicial warrants cannot be ignored by sanctuary jurisdictions. California's sanctuary state law cannot shield aliens from these criminal warrants. Instead of releasing the alien inmates and ignoring ICE detainers, jails must hand the aliens over to the Feds, regardless of any sanctuary policy that exists at the local or state level. The task Force says, once they're at full steam, they project they will be arresting forty to fifty aliens from local jails every week, and that if it's successful in la US, attorneys can use it as a model to neutralize sanctuary jis jurisdictions in other parts of the country like Mecklenburg County, bunkhom County, Wake County, Durham County, et cetera, et cetera. Tom Holman again on the Sean Ryan Show podcast. He said that it is irritating and insulting that the media is lying to the public about this topic. Well, now, hang on a second, it's possible that the media people that are reporting on this stuff they just are ignorant. Like, that's possible too. They just don't know what these various rules are. And so when you get in front of somebody like Gary McFadden and he tells you, I'll cooperate, just give me a judicial warrant, and like, oh, okay, So he's cooperating because they don't know that the detainer requests are administrative. Last week, there was a report that the US is now deporting fewer people than under Joe Biden. Tom Holman pointed this out. He's like, well, okay, but why why are we boarding fewer people than under Biden? Because the border is shut down, so there are fewer people to deport by border patrol. See, by border patrol, people aren't coming. The border is shut down, they don't get in, so they're not getting deported by border patrol. Now what about ice ice removals, Well, now those are way up. They fudge numbers on purpose. It looks like we're doing lesson We're not ICE is restling and deporting on a lot more people. Under Joe Biden, you had ten point five million people come to the border, historic numbers every year to four years. Every year's historic number. He kept breaking his own record every year. Same time you have historic illinomigration and southern border. ICE under Biden had the lowest numbers or removals, arrests that they arrested, not border Joe, lowest number of rests and removes by ICE and the history of the agency. At the same time he had unprecedented crossing on border. We've turned that around. We got the most secure border in the history of this country right now. IS's rest wealt three times more criminosm by never thought arrested. Those are the numbers. Some more numbers Washington times at the border. The rate of prosecutions for illegally entering the US is it's a misdemeanor illegally entering. The rate of prosecutions is up four thousand, five hundred percent from one year ago. Felony cases against illegal immigrants who sneak back into the US after they were already deported, those cases prosecutions, those are up one hundred and forty percent over last year in the Los Angeles area, which has a large population of illegal aliens. Federal prosecutors under Biden would go months without bringing a single illegal reentry case. Under Trump, they're averaging three dozen cases a week. You just needed another president. All right, that'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening.
