Over Democrats' opposition, NC House passes bill to force schools to offer optional in-person K-12 schooling

In a bipartisan vote, North Carolina House Republicans were joined by 5 Democrats in passing a bill to force school districts to offer optional in-person instruction for K-12 students. The 44 Democrats who opposed the measure said it was not necessary because 90% of districts already had re-opened in some way. However, Republicans said the districts still doing remote-only instruction account for 41% of all students in the state.
