Old man yells at America in late night rant (08-20-2024--Hour1)

President Joe Biden gave a shouty and angry speech late last night - the first night of the Democrats' convention in Chicago. His appearance was delayed by almost an hour, and his comments were primarily a rerun of his previous stump speeches and State of the Union address.

[00:00:28] Joe Biden stayed up later than I did. I tried, though. I watched like five hours of that show last night. Democratic National Convention, day one, night one. From what I understand, the line is already around the corner for the Planned Parenthood morning after pill.

[00:00:54] They set up the van. That's not on me. Oh, man. Where to begin? Well, if you've seen any of Joe Biden's or heard any of his stump speeches or the State of the Union speech or his, I don't know what they're calling it, the Dark Brandon speech, you know, with the ominous red and black effects behind him in Philadelphia.

[00:01:23] A couple of about a year ago, right? Where he maligned half of America in a very angry speech. That's what we saw last night. An angry speech. I don't know if he intends to come off as angry, but that's what he comes off as.

[00:01:41] Furrowed brow, yelling, screaming, pointing. At one point, he seemed to get frustrated with the audience that was chanting their love of him. Stepping down.

[00:01:51] And, you know, he just tried to keep cutting them off. It was just I didn't watch it live. They put him on at 1127 p.m.

[00:02:06] And all of the sycophants in the media. Think of the potato here. Brian Stelter, who's a potato.

[00:02:14] They were like, oh, you know, this isn't for the East Coast. You know, this is a different time zone.

[00:02:19] There are lots of other TV markets and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

[00:02:23] Yeah. The states that Harris needs to win are on the East Coast and people tuning in to see the president and maybe to get an explanation as to why he quit, why he was forced out.

[00:02:39] Didn't see it. And maybe that was the point. Are we supposed to believe that this was just, oh, poor planning.

[00:02:46] Oh, all of the speakers. They got way too much applause lines. Yeah. See, here's the problem, gaslighters.

[00:02:53] I watched your night. I watched your speeches and you guys have pauses built into your speeches for the applause lines.

[00:03:03] So don't tell me that you were an hour behind because all the applause for the B and C list politicians that came out there.

[00:03:14] You could have cut a whole bunch of those people when you knew you were running behind, but you didn't.

[00:03:21] You didn't. Now, to his credit, Joe Biden, I don't know what they jacked him up with beforehand, but I mean, he was on fire like he was in the State of the Union.

[00:03:30] So they got the mixture right, which now makes me wonder, how did they get it so wrong during the debate?

[00:03:36] Or maybe he's just not good off of the teleprompter. Right.

[00:03:39] That might be the case that he was having problems during the debate, ordering his thoughts in real time.

[00:03:46] But if you give him a script to read, he can fire away and he can, you know, and he can engage with the audience and deliver the the lines correctly.

[00:03:56] But the whole thing still came across as old man yells at America.

[00:04:02] That's what it looked like, even when he was saying things that he loves America.

[00:04:07] And then, of course, he was spending the other portion of the speech bashing half of the country again.

[00:04:12] And this is red meat for the the people that are watching night one.

[00:04:19] I've heard it referred to as when it comes to like the lineup of speakers.

[00:04:23] This is sort of the, you know, the ghettoization of the speakers.

[00:04:28] People don't want to speak on the first night of the convention.

[00:04:31] The big show is later on in the event.

[00:04:34] And they stuffed Biden on the first night, who then immediately jumped on a plane and flew to California for yet another vacation.

[00:04:45] He spoke for over 50 minutes.

[00:04:47] I watched it all this morning.

[00:04:49] I got up, get up at six in the morning and I go and I put that thing on because that's something to wake up to.

[00:04:56] Oh, boy.

[00:04:58] The constant chance of we love Joe for quitting.

[00:05:02] We love Joe for quitting.

[00:05:04] And thank you, Joe, for quitting.

[00:05:06] Thank you, Joe, for quitting.

[00:05:07] I mean, they're not saying the for quitting part, but that's what they're thanking him for.

[00:05:10] And like this.

[00:05:12] What do I always say?

[00:05:13] And I say it about a great many things I know.

[00:05:16] I often say it about Donald Trump and Trump supporters.

[00:05:21] Don't whiz on my boots and tell me it is raining.

[00:05:24] Right.

[00:05:25] Don't gaslight me.

[00:05:26] Don't lie to me.

[00:05:28] OK, I am, as Lee Smith points out, too bright for your gaslight.

[00:05:33] OK, I know when you're doing it to me.

[00:05:36] And last night, these chants of we love Joe and thank you, Joe.

[00:05:42] That's gaslighting.

[00:05:43] They're thanking him for getting the hell off the stage, quitting.

[00:05:48] So now they may have a chance because he's just a husk.

[00:05:52] That's all he's ever been in this term.

[00:05:59] The most psychopathic moment.

[00:06:02] This is from Nancy Pelosi.

[00:06:05] There's a Hans Menke is his name.

[00:06:11] And he says it's amazing how Nancy Pelosi.

[00:06:14] Pelosi casually interjects that he made the decision for the country in the same sentence in which she admits Biden was, in fact, deposed in a coup.

[00:06:25] On some level, he says all of these people are psychopaths.

[00:06:29] So here is the here is the exchange that Pelosi had with.

[00:06:37] Yeah, with Jake Tapper on CNN last night.

[00:06:41] Have you talked to him?

[00:06:42] What I have to do.

[00:06:44] Right.

[00:06:44] He made the decision for the country.

[00:06:47] My concern was not about the president.

[00:06:50] It was about his campaign.

[00:06:51] He made the decision for his country.

[00:06:57] He belongs on Mount Rushmore Fort.

[00:07:00] By the way, Obama's, quote, compliment to Joe Biden.

[00:07:05] Remember that?

[00:07:06] The most consequential president.

[00:07:08] Which was sort of like.

[00:07:11] You're likable enough to Hillary Clinton.

[00:07:16] Right.

[00:07:17] The people that have been running the Biden administration are the Obama crowd, the Obamaites, the Obama times.

[00:07:27] Right.

[00:07:28] And as Rich Lowry from the National Review pointed out, it is disrespectful to put Biden up there so late.

[00:07:35] I mean, why would Democrats want to feature Joe Biden in prime time if they if they don't have to?

[00:07:42] Seriously, they don't want this guy to be the president anymore.

[00:07:46] They want him to go away.

[00:07:48] Why would they want him in prime time television?

[00:07:53] Kamala Harris has to distance herself from him.

[00:07:55] Right.

[00:07:57] Somehow.

[00:07:58] While at the same time hugging him.

[00:08:00] Oh, Joe, thank you so much, Joe.

[00:08:03] You're so wonderful.

[00:08:04] Now get out.

[00:08:07] Besides, once you've taken the nomination from him, what's pushing his speech out of prime time?

[00:08:11] Really?

[00:08:11] I mean, you've already kicked the guy off of his own campaign.

[00:08:15] Think about that, too.

[00:08:16] The campaign that he built.

[00:08:19] The staff that he amassed.

[00:08:22] Right.

[00:08:23] This is his team that now just gets picked up and given to her.

[00:08:31] There's a comment here I saw.

[00:08:33] I'm going to see if I can find it.

[00:08:34] Oh, yeah.

[00:08:35] Here it is from Alex Thompson.

[00:08:36] Alex Thompson is a national political correspondent for Axios, which is a mouthpiece for the Democrat Party.

[00:08:45] And he says one longtime Biden aide sent him a text.

[00:08:49] And here's what it said.

[00:08:51] Quote, this is awful.

[00:08:53] He literally set up a campaign and handed it over to them.

[00:08:56] Do they have to cut him out of prime time?

[00:09:02] Yes.

[00:09:04] Yes, they do.

[00:09:07] He's got another tweet here from last night.

[00:09:09] A conventional official.

[00:09:12] I don't know what that means.

[00:09:13] I don't know if like conventional wisdom, conventional, or is it convention?

[00:09:17] They just auto-corrected it or something.

[00:09:19] But whatever.

[00:09:20] He gets another text.

[00:09:20] Because of the raucous applause interrupting speaker after speaker, we ultimately skipped elements of our program.

[00:09:27] Like James Taylor.

[00:09:28] They had to bump James Taylor.

[00:09:30] Darn.

[00:09:31] Ah.

[00:09:34] I mean, that would have just put everybody to bed.

[00:09:35] Which was, I mean, it's a good move.

[00:09:37] He gets up there, starts singing, you got a friend before Biden comes out.

[00:09:40] Biden might not have been able to make it through the 50-minute speech, you know.

[00:09:45] So, we are proud of the electric atmosphere in our convention hall.

[00:09:49] And proud that our convention is showcasing the broad and diverse coalition behind the Harris Walls ticket throughout the week on and off the stage.

[00:09:58] But they bumped Biden out of prime time.

[00:10:00] And it's got a lot of people wondering whether it was intentional or not.

[00:10:04] But here's the thing.

[00:10:05] It doesn't matter.

[00:10:06] They did it.

[00:10:08] It doesn't matter.

[00:10:09] After all that we have seen, you don't get the benefit of the doubt, right?

[00:10:14] The machinations that the Democrat Party leadership went through to get their nominee removed.

[00:10:23] Right?

[00:10:24] That's what happened.

[00:10:25] In a coup.

[00:10:27] A bloodless coup, if you will.

[00:10:28] A coup nonetheless.

[00:10:30] Right?

[00:10:30] They deposed their own guy.

[00:10:34] So, no, it's not beyond the realm of possibility to think that they may have bumped him outside of prime time so as to not display his behavior to more Americans.

[00:10:44] All right.

[00:10:45] Hey, real quick.

[00:11:11] Run the numbers with you.

[00:11:12] Again, that's Pete at the Pete Calendar Show dot com.

[00:11:15] So, I watched Joe Biden's speech this morning.

[00:11:19] I watched the rest of the Democrat convention first night last night until about I finally bailed.

[00:11:25] It was a little after 10 p.m.

[00:11:27] And then I laid down, tried to sleep.

[00:11:29] I couldn't fall asleep because I had all that Democrat nonsense in my head.

[00:11:31] And so then I like watched some more of the stuff on my phone, which I don't think I don't think Christy was aware.

[00:11:39] She was pretty.

[00:11:40] She was out.

[00:11:42] And and then I finally fell asleep.

[00:11:46] But the the Biden address last night threats and catastrophization.

[00:11:53] Which is what I expect from Joe Biden.

[00:11:55] And that's what he delivers all the time in his entire five years running for president.

[00:12:02] And he's always been a nasty jerk.

[00:12:05] Always.

[00:12:06] The the people who, you know, recast this guy as the sympathetic grandpa figure.

[00:12:13] I never believed it.

[00:12:14] I've been vocal about that.

[00:12:17] Anybody who has followed this guy's career knows that stoking anger, smearing people with lies.

[00:12:27] That's his jam.

[00:12:29] And he did it last night.

[00:12:33] Right.

[00:12:34] Just five weeks after an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, which, by the way, went completely unmentioned.

[00:12:42] Last night.

[00:12:44] Completely unmentioned.

[00:12:47] It was the same old stump speech.

[00:12:50] I've got I've got some more audio I'm going to play.

[00:12:52] Not a lot.

[00:12:53] I won't do that to you.

[00:12:54] I mean, I'm going to do a little bit to you.

[00:12:55] Not a lot.

[00:12:57] Let me let me bring Ed Morrissey's piece at hot air dot com here.

[00:13:05] He called it Biden's valediction.

[00:13:09] Give Joe Biden this much credit.

[00:13:11] He stayed up past his bedtime and mine and pretty much everybody else's east of the Colorado River.

[00:13:16] For some reason, the organizers of the Democrats National Convention let the schedule slide more than an hour by the time their 81 year old retiring incumbent had planned on taking the stage.

[00:13:27] The DNC later blamed this on the amount of applause that each speaker got.

[00:13:31] Sure.

[00:13:33] Sure.

[00:13:33] For those of us who went to bed rather than watch Red Eye Joe, we could have skipped it and just replayed his State of the Union speech from March or really any of his campaign speeches he gave before flaming out in the June 27th debate.

[00:13:46] With only a few tweaks to note that he was no longer the candidate.

[00:13:50] Biden gave a vigorous reading of his usual demagoguery and fabulism for just under an hour in Chicago.

[00:14:01] He calls this Ed Morrissey calls this.

[00:14:06] As always, 10 pounds of BS in a five pound bag.

[00:14:12] He says it is the perfect valediction for a man who spent his political life as a vicious demagogue and intellectual lightweight in Washington, D.C.

[00:14:23] Joe Biden's farewell speech was a perfect encapsulation of his career.

[00:14:28] Oh, sorry.

[00:14:28] It was 20 pounds of BS in a 10 pound bag.

[00:14:32] At one point, he said during the pandemic, Kamala and I helped.

[00:14:39] Sorry.

[00:14:39] He said, Kamala and I help states and cities get back their schools back open.

[00:14:46] I think it's how he delivered that.

[00:14:48] It's pretty close.

[00:14:50] Now, remember, Biden and Harris, you'll recall, they caved into the teachers union, Randy Weingarten, right, to keep the schools closed for as long as possible.

[00:14:59] They allowed her to help craft CDC, quote, guidelines, which allowed teachers to keep schools shuttered and forced distance learning for months longer than necessary.

[00:15:10] Red state governors like Brian Kemp, Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott, among others, fought the Biden-Harris administration and the CDC and the unions to get the kids back into the schools.

[00:15:22] But the Democrats last night were up there multiple times, different speakers claiming that they were the ones that reopened the schools because they happened because Biden was president when the schools finally reopened.

[00:15:36] Ignoring the fact that they kept them closed and then they fought red states from having them reopen.

[00:15:44] I've got an ad. I've got an ad that they ran. The Democrats ran against Donald Trump when he said you got to reopen the schools and they savaged him.

[00:15:55] And now they're up there last night claiming credit for reopening the schools.

[00:15:59] Again, this is gaslighting. Don't whiz on my boots and tell me it's raining.

[00:16:04] Let's go over and take a call now from Brian. Hello, Brian. Welcome to the show.

[00:16:09] Hey, what's up, Pete?

[00:16:10] Hey, how's it going?

[00:16:11] Good, man. Why are you hating on the Democrats, man?

[00:16:15] Oh, because I believe them to be economically illiterate authoritarian statists that entrap free people with promises of free things.

[00:16:26] Oh, OK. So what do you feel about the Republican Party? What are they?

[00:16:29] They're captured by Donald Trump and are moving towards a more populist strain of politics that I do not care for.

[00:16:39] But it's to be expected, given that the Democrats have just surrendered the middle ground.

[00:16:46] Well, at least we had lost our soul. I think the Republican Party has lost their soul, man.

[00:16:50] They really had.

[00:16:51] Yeah. OK, so an organization has no soul, Brian.

[00:16:54] An organization has no soul.

[00:16:56] No, you know what I'm talking about.

[00:16:58] No, I don't know what you're talking about. Explain it to me.

[00:17:00] OK, OK. OK, I can explain it to you, since you don't know what I'm talking about.

[00:17:04] Right.

[00:17:04] They've lost their inner fortitude of being the party of law and order, the party of conservatism,

[00:17:19] and that type of ilk that they've always said they were.

[00:17:22] OK, so they now have a convicted felon.

[00:17:29] Yeah, I don't care about that.

[00:17:31] Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm talking about.

[00:17:32] They have lost any credibility of being a serious party.

[00:17:38] Yeah. So here's Brian. I'm going to explain to you why that doesn't matter anymore.

[00:17:42] You know why it doesn't matter anymore? Because it doesn't matter to you guys.

[00:17:46] It doesn't matter to half the country anyway.

[00:17:48] It only matters to you because it's Donald Trump.

[00:17:50] You don't know, Brian, you don't care. You don't care.

[00:17:53] November.

[00:17:54] Yeah, we will find out. Absolutely.

[00:17:56] But, Brian, don't tell me.

[00:17:57] Don't tell me that Democrats care about keeping somebody who's convicted of a felony out of office.

[00:18:03] The Charlotte City Council has a woman on it right now who is celebrated, is celebrated because of her record.

[00:18:10] So don't give me that garbage like somehow or another you're offended that somebody got convicted, which I would also point out might be probably and definitely actually due to politics.

[00:18:22] A convicted felon.

[00:18:24] Brian, you keep saying that.

[00:18:26] I know that makes you tingly-legged and all, but I don't care because I know what that case was about.

[00:18:34] And you guys keep using—

[00:18:35] No, Brian, you keep saying the 34 in diamonds and convicted felon as if it's supposed to move me somehow.

[00:18:41] It doesn't move me.

[00:18:42] Your ploys for emotionalism don't work on me.

[00:18:46] You're brainwashed.

[00:18:48] I'm not brainwashed.

[00:18:49] I'm the brainwashed one.

[00:18:51] That's right.

[00:18:52] MAGA has taken over the Republican Party.

[00:18:55] That's true.

[00:18:55] There is no more Republican Party.

[00:18:57] There is a Republican Party.

[00:18:58] No, it's not.

[00:18:59] Yeah, there is.

[00:19:00] MAGA is—

[00:19:00] They just had a convention.

[00:19:02] MAGA is the replacement.

[00:19:03] No, no, no, no.

[00:19:04] That was a MAGA convention.

[00:19:05] That's fine.

[00:19:06] Yeah, yeah.

[00:19:07] No.

[00:19:07] Convention.

[00:19:08] Yeah, Donald Trump has taken over the Republican Party.

[00:19:10] I agree.

[00:19:11] Brian, yeah, Donald Trump—

[00:19:12] No, no, no.

[00:19:13] What?

[00:19:13] Let me tell you something, man.

[00:19:14] Donald Trump—

[00:19:15] Donald Trump, you don't have a Republican Party anymore.

[00:19:19] You keep saying—

[00:19:20] Brian, you keep saying the same thing over and over again,

[00:19:22] but that doesn't actually make an argument.

[00:19:25] You're not defending.

[00:19:26] You're not presenting any evidence for this stuff.

[00:19:29] I'm stating facts.

[00:19:30] You got it, Brian.

[00:19:31] I'm asking—

[00:19:32] Brian, when I ask you—

[00:19:33] When I tell you that I agree that MAGA has taken over the Republican Party,

[00:19:37] what do you think that means when I tell you that I agree with that?

[00:19:41] Okay, so there is no Republican Party.

[00:19:43] That is not a conclusion that you can draw from what I just said,

[00:19:49] because there is, in fact, a Republican Party.

[00:19:51] What don't you understand about there being a Republican Party

[00:19:54] that makes you think that there isn't one?

[00:19:56] Listen, let me ask you one question, and I know this is not going to happen, but—

[00:19:59] Just go ahead and pivot away from the difficult question you don't want to answer,

[00:20:03] but sure, Brian, why not?

[00:20:04] This isn't frustrating at all for everybody.

[00:20:06] If Donald Trump so happens to win the Office of the Presidency,

[00:20:13] he is supposed to be in there only four years, right?

[00:20:16] Correct.

[00:20:17] Do you think that this guy, this felon,

[00:20:20] cares anything about breaking the law when he's given—

[00:20:23] the Supreme Court has given immunity to the Office of the Presidency?

[00:20:28] Do you think that this guy is not going to break the—

[00:20:31] See, Brian, okay, so there are two parts to your question.

[00:20:36] One is stupid, and the other is predictive.

[00:20:39] No, yeah, it is, because number one—

[00:20:41] Okay, I'll say ignorant.

[00:20:42] Brian, I'll say—

[00:20:43] Brian, Brian, Brian, Brian, Brian, Brian, stop.

[00:20:48] Stop.

[00:20:49] Okay?

[00:20:49] When you ask me a question, I'm going to answer your question.

[00:20:53] So, the first part was,

[00:20:55] the ruling that you think you know about doesn't say what you think it says.

[00:20:59] You should read the ruling.

[00:21:01] It's very limited.

[00:21:02] Brian, stop.

[00:21:04] Just stop.

[00:21:06] Number one.

[00:21:07] Number two, do I think Donald Trump,

[00:21:10] after four years, vacates the office?

[00:21:13] I do.

[00:21:14] And as proof, as evidence,

[00:21:16] something that you have not submitted for any of your dumbassery,

[00:21:20] I will submit to you a piece of evidence,

[00:21:22] which is,

[00:21:24] he already left once!

[00:21:26] He has a record of leaving before.

[00:21:30] So, he will—

[00:21:31] And if anything, Brian, if anything,

[00:21:33] he would have done it then.

[00:21:35] He would have done it then.

[00:21:37] He couldn't do it then.

[00:21:39] Why couldn't he?

[00:21:40] He couldn't do it.

[00:21:40] Why couldn't he?

[00:21:41] He couldn't do it.

[00:21:42] Why?

[00:21:43] Oh my God.

[00:21:44] Why?

[00:21:45] No, Brian, just answer the question.

[00:21:47] Why couldn't he have done it?

[00:21:50] What are you so afraid of this guy for?

[00:21:52] You're so terrified.

[00:21:53] You're like a scared little child with this man.

[00:21:56] Like, he could have done it before.

[00:21:58] He did not do it.

[00:22:00] Yet, somehow, you think he will do it if he gets back in.

[00:22:03] Why?

[00:22:04] I am scared for the things that America—

[00:22:07] No, you're not.

[00:22:08] You're scared of him.

[00:22:09] You're completely animated by your hatred of this one guy,

[00:22:13] that you are so blinded by it.

[00:22:15] I don't hate anybody.

[00:22:17] Of course you do.

[00:22:18] Everything you say is—

[00:22:19] Everything you say is animated by this belief.

[00:22:22] I just know that four years ago,

[00:22:25] if a felon would have said that he's running for the presidency,

[00:22:28] there's no way that a major party,

[00:22:31] such as the Republican Party,

[00:22:32] which is no longer in existence,

[00:22:35] would have chosen a felon to be their representative.

[00:22:39] Now, I will say—

[00:22:40] In America, we definitely don't want a felon on the world stage

[00:22:46] trying to do our business.

[00:22:49] All right.

[00:22:49] So, Brian, I will tell you,

[00:22:50] you might want to go talk to your Democrats

[00:22:52] because they are in the process of normalizing

[00:22:55] all sorts of criminal behavior,

[00:22:57] and they are in the process of getting people with criminal records

[00:23:02] more integrated into society,

[00:23:04] and that means elected office as well.

[00:23:06] The other thing is,

[00:23:08] if—again,

[00:23:09] if you're going to piss on my boot,

[00:23:10] don't tell me it's raining.

[00:23:11] I remember Hillary Clinton.

[00:23:13] I saw what happened with the DOJ.

[00:23:15] I saw what happened with Bill Clinton.

[00:23:18] I remember these things.

[00:23:19] I remember what y'all did to Mitt Romney.

[00:23:21] I remember these things.

[00:23:24] So your gaslighting doesn't work on me.

[00:23:28] Put down the Kool-Aid.

[00:23:30] Seth points out in an email to Pete at thepetecalendarshow.com.

[00:23:34] Brian says,

[00:23:36] the people of the Republican Party have lost their soul,

[00:23:38] says the guy whose party is all for killing babies.

[00:23:42] Yeah, there is a bit of a disconnect there, Seth.

[00:23:45] Keith says,

[00:23:49] Dems smashed it.

[00:23:51] I'm assuming that means that they did awesome last night.

[00:23:54] Please, Pete, stop it.

[00:23:56] Trump is felon.

[00:23:58] That dude, Brian, was right.

[00:23:59] Did I say—

[00:24:00] did I say Donald Trump isn't a felon?

[00:24:03] He was convicted in the court.

[00:24:05] I said I don't care.

[00:24:07] That doesn't matter,

[00:24:08] because I actually followed the details of the trial.

[00:24:12] And I understand the machinations that the DA used

[00:24:16] in order to get the convictions he got in the jurisdiction he got them in.

[00:24:21] And there was a reason why Democrats themselves

[00:24:24] urged Alvin Bragg not to bring that case,

[00:24:27] because they didn't think it was worth the time.

[00:24:31] They were not confident they could get a conviction.

[00:24:34] They thought it was going to be overturned on appeal

[00:24:37] and dismissed and a long shot and all this other stuff.

[00:24:39] So, yeah.

[00:24:41] But there's a reason why also I don't care,

[00:24:43] is that the standards that have now been set

[00:24:46] in American culture for our politicians

[00:24:48] are actually a more realistic standard.

[00:24:51] And the charge of hypocrisy

[00:24:54] carries no purchase anymore.

[00:24:56] I keep saying it to people,

[00:24:58] and it's like, you don't believe me.

[00:24:59] But it is true.

[00:25:01] That's how you get Democrats up there last night

[00:25:04] saying all of the things that they said.

[00:25:07] And media just going, mm-hmm, yeah, yeah.

[00:25:10] Let me go over here to Theodore.

[00:25:12] Hello, Theodore.

[00:25:13] Hey.

[00:25:14] Hey, what's going on?

[00:25:15] I heard you talking with, I guess, Brian on my ride home.

[00:25:19] Yeah.

[00:25:20] Talking about people, you know,

[00:25:23] being felons and whatnot in political office.

[00:25:26] Marion Barry was re-elected as mayor of the District of Columbia.

[00:25:30] He was convicted of crack cocaine.

[00:25:32] Indeed he was.

[00:25:33] Yes.

[00:25:34] Yeah.

[00:25:35] And it's amazing how people forget this stuff.

[00:25:38] Yeah.

[00:25:39] Heck, closer to home,

[00:25:40] we had our own Jim Black, the Speaker of the House.

[00:25:43] Now, granted, he hadn't quite been convicted at that point,

[00:25:45] but he was facing all of the corruption charges,

[00:25:48] and he did eventually get convicted,

[00:25:50] but Democrats in his district sent him back

[00:25:52] to the state legislature.

[00:25:54] So, yeah.

[00:25:56] Amazing, huh?

[00:25:57] Yeah.

[00:25:57] It's all right, Theodore.

[00:25:58] I appreciate the reference.

[00:26:00] Kelly Mack also mentioned Marion Barry

[00:26:01] in a message on Twitter.

[00:26:05] Hang on.

[00:26:06] Did I finish reading?

[00:26:07] Oh, you can disagree and disagree all you want,

[00:26:10] but I think you know you are wrong.

[00:26:12] That dude, Brian, was right.

[00:26:13] I was not.

[00:26:14] What was I wrong about?

[00:26:16] About me not caring?

[00:26:17] I don't care.

[00:26:18] And neither does half of the country.

[00:26:20] They believe that Donald Trump was prosecuted

[00:26:25] slash persecuted due to politics,

[00:26:29] and I know half the other country doesn't believe that.

[00:26:34] That doesn't make you right,

[00:26:36] and it doesn't make us wrong.

[00:26:38] So, please don't be like Trump,

[00:26:41] which I think you are,

[00:26:42] which you are doing,

[00:26:44] or today, okay,

[00:26:45] which I think you are doing today,

[00:26:46] I think is what he meant to say.

[00:26:47] I listen to this show,

[00:26:49] and you seem rattled.

[00:26:50] Why?

[00:26:51] Peas.

[00:26:51] Of course, there's always the peas.

[00:26:53] I seem rattled.

[00:26:55] It's not rattled.

[00:26:56] I'm trying to stop Brian from filibustering,

[00:26:59] because what Brian does

[00:27:01] is he just starts laughing

[00:27:03] and saying the same things

[00:27:04] over and over and over again.

[00:27:06] He's a troll.

[00:27:07] It's like if you ran into him online,

[00:27:09] that's the troll behavior,

[00:27:11] and I'm used to dealing with trolls.

[00:27:12] And as I always say,

[00:27:14] I engage with people

[00:27:15] how they engage with me.

[00:27:17] And so when you ask me a question,

[00:27:18] and I start answering your question,

[00:27:20] and the first thing he says,

[00:27:22] why am I hating on Democrats?

[00:27:23] And I gave him an answer.

[00:27:24] And what did he do?

[00:27:25] Rather than talk about

[00:27:27] the answer I gave him,

[00:27:29] he pivots to something else.

[00:27:31] He wants to talk about something else,

[00:27:33] because it's not actually about

[00:27:35] a good faith discussion.

[00:27:37] He just wants to say

[00:27:38] whatever he wants to say

[00:27:40] and hang up,

[00:27:41] and that's it.

[00:27:44] I mentioned this before.

[00:27:46] This was the ad

[00:27:48] Democrats ran against Donald Trump

[00:27:50] in 2020.

[00:27:52] Desperate to reopen schools

[00:27:54] because he thinks it will save

[00:27:56] his re-election.

[00:27:57] We have to open the schools.

[00:27:58] Critical shortage of PPE.

[00:28:01] Threatening their funding.

[00:28:02] When they don't open their schools,

[00:28:04] we're not going to fund them.

[00:28:05] Ignoring how the virus spreads,

[00:28:07] risking teachers and parents' lives,

[00:28:09] going against the advice of experts.

[00:28:11] It's had very little impact

[00:28:12] on young people.

[00:28:14] Do you trust him

[00:28:16] to do what's best for our children?

[00:28:18] Because this is not a test.

[00:28:20] Trump is failing.

[00:28:22] Okay.

[00:28:23] That was the ad

[00:28:24] that they ran in 2020

[00:28:27] in the election cycle

[00:28:31] attacking Trump for

[00:28:33] not even,

[00:28:34] I mean,

[00:28:35] he didn't even have any control

[00:28:36] over the schools.

[00:28:37] These were Democrat governors

[00:28:38] at the state level.

[00:28:39] Because remember,

[00:28:40] Trump said,

[00:28:41] and I agreed with him

[00:28:41] at the time,

[00:28:43] that these are decisions

[00:28:45] that should be made

[00:28:46] at the state level.

[00:28:47] Then Donald Trump

[00:28:48] attacked Republicans.

[00:28:49] I disagreed with him for that

[00:28:52] because he went after

[00:28:53] the Georgia governor.

[00:28:55] He went after,

[00:28:55] he may have gone after

[00:28:56] Ron DeSantis,

[00:28:57] but he attacked

[00:28:57] Republican governors

[00:28:58] for opening up too soon.

[00:29:00] I disagreed with him.

[00:29:03] And now the Democrats

[00:29:04] are savaging him

[00:29:06] at their convention

[00:29:08] for trying to open

[00:29:09] or keep,

[00:29:10] for keeping the schools closed

[00:29:11] and claiming that

[00:29:12] Biden and Harris

[00:29:13] were the ones

[00:29:14] that opened up the schools.

[00:29:15] This is gaslighting.

[00:29:16] It is a form

[00:29:17] of psychological abuse.

[00:29:19] Identify it,

[00:29:20] right?

[00:29:21] Darvo,

[00:29:22] reverse victim

[00:29:22] and offender,

[00:29:24] right?

[00:29:25] This is part of the pattern.

[00:29:27] All right,

[00:29:28] that'll do it

[00:29:28] for this episode.

[00:29:29] Thank you so much

[00:29:30] for listening.

[00:29:31] I could not do the show

[00:29:32] without your support

[00:29:32] and the support

[00:29:33] of the businesses

[00:29:34] that advertise

[00:29:35] on the podcast.

[00:29:36] So if you'd like,

[00:29:37] please support them too

[00:29:38] and tell them

[00:29:38] you heard it here.

[00:29:39] You can also become

[00:29:40] a patron at my Patreon page

[00:29:41] or go to

[00:29:44] Again,

[00:29:45] thank you so much

[00:29:45] for listening

[00:29:46] and don't break anything

[00:29:47] while I'm gone.
