Congratulations to all of the boomer leftists who turned out yesterday for than it was it yesterday or is it Saturday? Whenever you guys were out there for your no Kings thing? Thank you very much. I woke up today and there is no king in America, so it worked. I think it worked. Kudos. Good job, good job. Want to welcome back to the program, as we always do on Mondays at two. It is AP Dylon. She is the publisher of a substack newsletter called More to the Story. She's also a a reporter for the North State Journal. You can read her work at nsjonline dot com. AP How are you? I'm doing great? Pete? How are you? I'm doing great as well? No Kings today. I thought it was dicey, Like like Friday night, I was like, man, we really want to get rid of this king that we got, and then they had the big protest and then now there's no king anymore, and so I'm so very grateful. Did you did you participate? Did you go down hang out with any of the No kingers. In no hard work and grocery shopping? Yeah, I mean neither. I did have walk to end Alzheimer's. So we were We did that in uptown Charlotte, and we were kind of worried that, like we may get caught up because we had like three thousand people or something march for the for the Alzheimer's Association on Saturday morning, we were kind of worried that, like we were all in purple and we would just get swallowed up by the No Kings people. But they didn't come out till later, so we were fine. But but yeah, we made there were there were some jokes about it. So what was the what was the Oh, hang on a second, I gotta play this for you. This is from the Charlotte No Kings and this is a woman who was captured uh In an interview with WBTV take a listen. Trump is a disastrous president. He's completely breaking our entire country, and I am so sick of waking up every single day to the chaos that he is creating. We have a beautiful country and I'm here to fight for it. All Right, there you go. She seems very well adjusted, not at all unstable in any way. So tell us, yeah, did that? Yeah? It's like, uh, I think you've got something else going on if you wake up every single day and you're doom scrolling what Trump did today, you know, like I kind of feel like there's some people that Trump's Trump has broken their brains and everything in their life is now centered around you know, the orange hitler man. Well, yeah, there's this phenomenon right now where no matter what he does, it's awful and the world is ending. It's the end of democracy as we know it. And you know, I mean lower taxes, lower gas bills, food prices will start to come down as energy starts to increase. But you know, hi Middle East peace deal, you know he's killing it. You know he's got THE'SE got them Cartel's coming out of Venezuela. You know, he's been doing the boat bombs yeah, you know. I mean he's he's secured the border, the deportations are still going on. You know, he's looking to clean up crime in various cities around the country, including Charlotte, which Governor Josh Stein isn't too excited about, no him possibly sending the National Guard there, despite the fact that they've had what like fifteen homicides, sixteen homicides in the last month and a half. Yeah, we're yeah, we were, we were down a bit and then you know, CMPD was like, look our homicides are down, look at us, they're down, and then like this weekend we had four more. So uh, yeah, it's well I did in the first hour of the show today, I walked through the MacArthur Foundation and their Safety and Justice challenge. They've they've pumped over three million dollars into Mecklenburg County. Yeah, I read about that. Yeah, for this for the soft on crime policies, and they've been doing it all and it's not just Charlotte, They're doing it in jurisdictions all over and. Well, going back to the well adjusted folks, though, I don't know if you notice the proliferation of blow up costumes inflatable costumes. I have, I have noticed that. I I what I had to find out what that was about. So I did from digging around, and I found that uh Lee, Antifa folks in Portland, yeah, who have been fighting with the ice fiscility there, had been doing these rent of costumes and to show that they're they're they're peaceful people there. And there was that viral clip that went you know that went viral of the White Fires post as you're putting pepper spray up to the air hole of a frog. Right right. So yeah, but no, we saw this a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, like all of a sudden, they're not like people are getting out of the black Block, although actually I don't know they could still be dressed all in black in the costume, I'm not sure. Yeah, so there, but yeah, so they were like they were ditching the black block scary uniforms and going with these inflatable costumes in order to try to flip this narrative, this script that Antifa is a dangerous scary organization. Sorry idea. I guess that's where that came from, though. Yeah, but what cracked me up though, there was this clip MSNBC was out amongst some of the crowd, and they came up to one that was looked like a my Little Pony unicorn kind of thing, and the reporter literally sticks the microphone up into the face of this thing, shoving the nose of this inflatable character all the way back so that he can get the person's voice camera. And I'm watching this and I'm thinking, you couldn't have found someone in the crowd without a costume. Right, Why? Yeah, why did you make a b line to that person? Yeah, it's just it's just weird. And you know those costumes shut up here in the Triangle and around around the state too. There was a frog and a skeletal cat, and I think there was also a bee, I think I saw, But there was unicorns as well, and horses and all kinds of things. And I've just dropped a story about all this to my subscribers. Paid subscribers have more to the story. We'll be able to check out all the images and uh and goodies from from that that I collected. It's further confirmation ap that these are theater kids. Well, you know, we're back to We're back to the kind of protests where they've got the you know, they've got these pithy yet coherent signs. You know, they waved them around. We're mad about something, but we're not going to tell you exactly what it is. We just know the countries being destroyed, but we can't articulate why. And when we're asked why, we get mad and call you a racist. You know what it's it reminds me of is the moral monday Ers. That's what all of this stuff reminds me of. Yeah. Yeah, for people who don't remember or weren't here at the time, this would have been Pat McCrory's first term. So what would have twenty twelve? I guess sixteen. Yeah, And because you know, first Republican governor in like forty years, and they had they had the House, they had the Senate, they had the Governor's mansion, and so the left and remember the Democrat Party in the state had been so hollowed out by corruption and scandal and all this stuff. They were like they were about to lose their headquarters in raleighcause they couldn't pay the rent, and into that breach stet you see what I did. They're into the breach a repairer of the breach, Reverend William Barber, and he launches this Moral Monday thing, and the Democrats, because they don't have anything else and they can't mobilize themselves at that point, they just basically like offloaded the entire thing to Barber and his poor people's campaign stuff, the Moral Monday, and they would march every Monday, and the media would go down there every Monday, and it was the same sort of thing. They would all have different uh signs up there, and it's just this omnik cause, as Ben Shapiro calls it, you know, just just swap out a different issue. I did not see, I will say, for the for the note Kings, I did not see as many Free Palestine signs this weekend. Oh there were some. I spotted to various video clips floating around on x You can you can see a couple, but they're you know, while they didn't have any of the bedding. That we saw. So one of the previous ones of a beheaded Donald Trump, there was a woman carrying around a couch that had a son and that couches against jd Vance. Jd Vance first, first, uh, he asked couches. Now he's effing America. Yeah, but it's written out and there's little kids right around, so that's nice. Whit she's carrying around an actual couch. Yeah, I got a full couch. Yep. I got a screenshot of it from Oh my gosh, a guy who posted it publicly on Twitter. Okay, I'm not gonna lie. That's kind of impressive that she's carrying around a full couch. Yeah, it's it's well, it's more like an armchair part of a couch. It looks like it's part of a couch. But yeah, she's carrying this thing around and she's got you know, she's got her little love little heart shape sunglasses on, smiling of. Course, because they are the Party of Love. Yes. Yeah, the very next post and that that thread by that individual on x though had you know, was posing with him and his kids, so they were obviously there. Oh, I've got some clips from these different speakers around the country and yeah, and the funniest part to me in uh, the apology that is offered by media folks is like all the Republicans are saying that these are like hate America. Uh, and they're communists and socialists. And I actually saw some website did at I think it's called factually or something, and they did a fact check in their life, there's actually no connection between the communists and socialists with the no Kings, I'm like, what are you kidding me? Like, I have their I have their poster, and they've got like they got the Freedom Socialist Party as a sponsor, the Young Communist League, the Communist Party USA, uh, New York City Democratic Socialists of America like don't like, don't pee on my boots and tell me it's raining, like they're proudly. And then the Climate Defenders it's I mean, it's the same thing. League of Women Voters, is there of course. Well, one thing that is blowing around out there too is uh, you know pins that say, you know, is he dead yet? Yeah? And uh and you know Pooh Winny the Pooh memes where Piglett asked, pooh, is he dead yet? And they mean Donald Trump? Right, And these things are being these pins and these cards and these memes are being sold at you know, stands by Democratic Party groups in various areas, but also you know, circulated on the Internet, Facebook, social media, that sort of thing. So we've toned down the rhetoric. Yes, well look right now, they're just they're just wishing that the president die a death of natural causes, versus openly celebrating the assassination attempt, although some actually did that. Too Sniper's nest today, right, Yeah. Yeah, some actually are doing that as well. So yeah, it's. A lot to worry about. It's a locked on pack. I mean, the protests for the most part seemed like they were mostly peaceful, except for those two gals and Charlotte who arrested at the may or the June one for assaulting on officer. Yeah. Well, yeah, the work mostly peaceful here. I mean they're just you know, waving their signs and that sort of stuff. But you know, I mean, it's only a matter of time until you know, it gets hijacked by their black black friends and they're in more you know, animal inflatables show up. Yeah. Well it is, as I've been saying with this stuff, it's creating a permission ructure when you have media people and elected officials, when you have quote unquote you know, normal mainstream leaders who are saying things like oh, I'm not saying they should have assassinated Charlie Kirk, but and then they give a rationalization for it. You're erecting a permission structure which then sends this message to the the more you know, mentally unwell, that this is the way that I will gain martyrdom and I will gain approval. I mean, look at Luigi Mangioni, that guy right and the celebration. Yeah yeah, so yeah, but hey, you know, as long as they've got the sign in the front yard that their house has no room for hate, all as well. All right, AP Dylan, you could reader work at the North State Journal NSJ online dot com and you can subscribe as I do, to the newsletter more to the story. AP as always, thank you very much, appreciate it. Thank you, Pete. Take care. It's AP Dylan. Here's that's a great idea. Call her text eight two eight, three, six, seven seventy sixty eight or check out all there is to offer at cabins Offashville dot com and make memories that'll last a lifetime. From the text line, Cindy says, I want to say I really enjoy when UH miss Dylan and the other guy you have that comes on? Oh from uh Andrew Dunn from the Charlotte Observer and Long Leave Politics. Yeah, he's on tomorrow. I always learned something from them. You will have good conversations. I appreciate you putting them on and them coming to share information with us weekly. Thank you. Well, you're welcome. Cindy. Yeah. In the minute that either one of them stops giving me good content, they're out like that's no. I enjoy talking with them because like there's look, there's just a lot of there's a lot of stuff, as Brett Winterble says, that's moving out there, and I can't monitor all of it. I can't know all of that stuff, and so I try to bring in people that that can, you know, give us background and and go deeper on some of this stuff. All right, So the Charlotte Observer I found this interesting. They went down to the No King's protest, because of course they would. I'm not saying they shouldn't, but three reporters on the byline seems like a bit much, seems like it seems a bit high. They did uh like a yeah, three pages on the No Kings and it was all just quotes from people. Basically, I'm here for this because I hate Trump and I'm I'm here for this thing and I hate Trump, and I'm here for this thing and I hate Trump. And there was not a single counterpoint offered in the In the piece, three reporters and you guys couldn't find a single person to talk at all about the absurdity of No Kings, the absurdity of it, or the funding of it. Right the organizations that are putting this thing on because there's there's there's no relevant information for that stuff, right, of course there is that's providing the full context of the story. It's not simply a part of the nationwide protests. Because there are all of these organizations. I listed just a few of them, literally, communists and socialists, all the unions, they're all in on this. You've got climate change people. It is basically the Moral Monday ors again. And the coverage of this No King's crap is the same as we saw with the Moral Monday protests as well. Just they show up, they stick a mic in some rando faces, and they get comments about how terrible pamccory is, and you know, that's the end of the report. And there's there's no curiosity as to whether this is actually grassroots or astroturfing. You know. Stories are powerful. They help us make sense of things, to understand experiences. Visit creative video dot com. Here's an email to Pete at the Petecleanershow dot com from William who says, I wish just one of them would answer the question at this no King, the No King's protest, I wish one of them would answer the question, which king in the entirety of the world would have allowed your protest to happen? Correct? Yes, I see CNN has a crawl going on the bottom of their screen today, what forty eight hours after the No Kings and it says Trump dismisses no Kings as quote a joke. Correct, yes, correct, it is a joke. See. This is why had the Charlotte Observers, three reporters that covered the No King's protests, had they gone out and asked anybody on the right what they think of the No King's protest, they would have discovered that people on the right view the No King's protest as a punchline. It is a joke. You're embarrassing yourselves. We laugh at you. That's what's happening. The entire branding is absurd. It's just stupid. We do not have a king, and even you recognize this. If we had a king that was suppressing your ability to assemble peaceably and express your grievances to the government, right, if we had a king, you would not be there. If you were actually afraid of Donald Trump as a king, you would not be out there because you suffer no ramifications for being out there. Nobody came and arrested you. Nobody is throwing you in prison for your speech and your political views are in anything like that. Nobody's even deplatforming you like y'all did to conservatives. WBTV. Their story does include quote the other side at the end of their little blurb. Now, they only spent like three paragraphs on this story, so it was just like, yeah, rally was held at First Ward Park, and then they say Republicans have sought to portray participants in Saturday's rallies as far outside the mainstream of American politics and the main reason for the prolonged government shutdown now in its eighteenth day. I'm not really sure what they're trying to convey there with this write up. Kind of got a little mangled there. Not sure, but yes, Democrats did not want to move on the government shutdown until after this protest because if they had reopened the government before the protest, then Chuck Schumer wouldn't have had his prime speaking slot at the No King's rally right, So they're trying to build a narrative, and they are using the moral Monday blueprint, which by the way, was also cribbed from the Wisconsin protests in the state legislature when they took over a couple of years before. We saw it here in North Carolina. We saw it up in Wisconsin and with who was the Scott Walker, right, the governor, and they were in there shutting down operations for the state legislature. And then they did it here at North Carolina. And it's the same sort of mishmash of these leftist groups, the omni Cause, as Ben Shapiro calls it. They have all these different groups, right, but they're all like, we're all intersectionaling here at the hatred of Donald Trump, and he's a king. We're not going to have a king. We're American patriots, no kings. But yeah, we don't have a king. If we had a king, y'all would have been rounded up already, right, So that's the absurdity of your protests. We all recognize what it is that you're doing. You're working on earned media coverage and all of these groups are getting grants and such, and you know, you organize this to prove to your donors that you're doing stuff. You're getting stuff done from the White House to Capitol Hill. GOP leaders disparaged the rally goers as Communists and Marxists. Yes, because a lot of them are in fact. Here, I have a photo. This is from the Denver No King's March and Rally. I guess because they have a booth set up. They've got a tent, and they got a table, and they got their logo on the little tablecloth Denver Communists, very stylized hammer and sickle logo there. And then they have a placard that says Charlie Kirk had it coming, change my mind. And then on the back wall of their booth they have a huge banner, very professionally done up. It says Globalize the Intifada. And then they've got a table with a bunch of books for sale. One I can see the title here Palestine and Marxism. See. But this is all in my head right, this is I'm not really seeing all of this. By the way, you guys, you're just terrible. Comis Why are you selling the books? Huh? What's up with that? You just give them away? I should just go to these I should do this. I'm probably not going to I know myself, but somebody could do this. Go to the communist booths and just start taking their stuff, like I'm collectivizing this. I need this more than you do. I need to know what's in this book more than you do. They got a bunch of feminism books and stuff. They've got one that says unbuilt walls. Okay, so yeah, COMMI literature all over the place, Rosa, Luxembourg, Okay, whatever. But that's the kind of people that are at the rallies. And I read to you the list of some of the sponsors and organizers of the event Communist party groups, Socialist party groups. So it's not disparaging rally goers as Commi's and Marxists. They are. They are proudly so they set up booths and I'm not supposed to notice this, but if I do notice it, then I'm the bad guy. I'm disparaging them as communists, even though they have like banners that say I'm Communists, Like that's not on me, BTV. That's not my fault for noticing. So when I was a kid, my grandpa died with Alzheimer's and before he died, my mom and my dad took care of him as he got worse. Forty years ago, there were no treatments and not much support for caregivers and family. But things are different today because of the work of so many people, including the Alzheimer's Association of Western Carolina. It's a great organization with awesome people with huge hearts. I've been a supporter for twenty five years. This cause means a lot to me. I participate in the annual Walk to end Alzheimer's and I'm leading a Charlotte team again this year, and it's called once again Pete's Pack. You can sign up and you can join the team and walk with us. It's on October eighteenth, that truest field. Sign up at alz dot org slash walk and then you can search for my team name Pete's Pack. There's also a link at thepetepod dot com. There's also a link in the description of this podcast. Also, I'll be am seeing the Gastonia Walk on October eleventh, and so you can make a team and join that one too, or make a donation and help me hit my goal of five thousand dollars. If you do. I really appreciate it. There are a bunch of other walks all over the Carolinas. You can go to alz dot org slash walk for all the dates and locations. We're closer than ever to stopping Alzheimer's. Can you help us get there? Will you walk with me? For a different future, for families, for more time for treatments. This is why we walk. Okay, So this is by David Strom at hot air dot com. A couple of thoughts on the whole no kings, the absurdity of no kings. He says, I absolutely positively understand why liberals dislike Donald Trump's policies. He is, after all, reversing so many of the policies they love, and they have every right to object to them. I agree with David Strom, he is right. Well, here's the thing, though, when there's a legal dispute about some presidential action, right, the courts get involved, the courts have their say, and by the way, usually the Supreme Court rules in favor of the president. Like that's the normal course that all of this stuff has taken. I gave you the stat I think it was last week. It's like ninety four percent of the cases that make it to the Supreme Court are decided in favor of the administration. That's hardly the sign of a king. Right. If Donald Trump was a king, there would not be any court battles. Right. All those judges that make all these rulings against Trump, all those judges would have been kicked off the bench, imprisoned, disappeared. Right, That's what a king would do. That's what a tyrant and authoritarian, a fascist, orange nazi, Right, that's what they would do. That has not happened. In fact, i'm not sure the left is aware of this. What they're actually doing is they are they're building the guardrails. So every time you sue Donald Trump on anything like some of these policies he's doing, and you take it to court, you get a lower court it's like, I'm totally with you, aclu or you know, indivisible, fifty to fifty one, whatever group you're with, and then you get overturned, and then you appeal and then it goes to the Supreme Court and Trump wins. Well, now you have a Supreme Court ruling backing Trump's play. You are erecting the guard rails. And the more you sue, the more guardrails you end up erecting. I'm not sure you guys are aware of that. Just the heads up. If Donald Trump was a king, the Senate Democrats would not be able to put roadblocks in his way, right, the courts would not be in a position to even delay, let alone deny any kind of presidential dictate. But speaking of authoritarianism and the democracy, who was it that tried to keep their political opponent off the ballot in the last election? Who did that? That wasn't Donald Trump? That was Democrats literally at the state level tried to keep him off the ballot. Who was it that canceled their own primary? Who did that? That? Yeah, that was Democrats also. Oh and then when they finally had to be dragged kicking and screaming to the reality that the current inhabitant of the White House was cognitively impaired and could not do the job any longer, they then democratically, of course, swapped him out and anointed Kamala Harris as the nominee. See, that's the kind of crap a king would do, right a line of succession. That's the kind of stuff kings do. Ironically, Democrats are urging Republicans now in shut down to eliminate the filibuster. Have you heard this. They've been on social media, they've been doing it in interviews. They've been saying, oh, well, then the Senate should just get rid of the filibuster so they can pass the continuing Resolution without us. Really so, not so long ago the Democrats were saying that the filibuster was vital to preserving the democracy. Well, but that was after they had said that they had to get rid of the filibuster to preserve the democracy. But then before that they were forgetting rid of it. But that was only after they were against getting rid of it. Or anyway, I forget, I've lost track of their position on eliminating the filibuster. Basically, it comes down to, if they're in power, they want the ability to get rid of the filibuster so they can get what they want done without any Republican buy in, you know, like they did with Obamacare, which now apparently everybody is sort of recognizing, Man, this thing did not actually drive down costs. And it's just as if only if only some people were warning what would happen if Obamacare was passed law fair Remember that how many trials. Did Donald Trump face at the height of the presidential campaign? But right, but now any prosecution of Letitia James, John Bolton, Jim comey, Right, this is proof that we live in a fascist state. But when you guys were trying to keep Trump off the ballot and you were dragging him into every courtroom you could find with a hospitable jury and judge, not a sign of the fascist state. Right, As many before have noted, David Strom says, the Democrats are the party of the third rate theater kids who believe that being overly dramatic is the same as being convincing. He's exactly right. I'm not buying your performance. It's pretty terrible. I've seen the play for fifteen years. It was boring fifteen years ago. It's insufferable. Now you're not persuading anyone. All right, that'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening.
