NC passes anti-eugenics bill to ban abortions based on disability, race, or sex

The North Carolina House passed a bill that would prohibit abortions to be provided solely based on the race, sex, or presumed presence of Down syndrome in the baby. Six Democrats joined all the Republicans to approve the measure, including Rep. James Gailliard (D-Nash), who made some of the nastiest remarks opposing the bill.
