The CDC has no authority to issue a nationwide eviction moratorium, but we'll just leave it in place for another month because... reasons. This prompted NC Gov. Roy Cooper to attack Republicans for ending the state moratorium - which was basically just a rule that told landlords to inform tenants about the CDC program. But, at least Gov. Cooper went to the Council of State to get approval on this. Also, Democratic lawmakers oppose local control over school masking policy, citing fear about the Delta Variant of the virus.
