We are discussing the shooting that occurred yesterday in Minneapolis. Ice agent shot and killed a thirty seven year old woman who ran into him as she was attempting to flee after she had been told to get out of her vehicle because she was harassing and following and then blocking the ice officers' vehicles. This is a standard tactic that these protesters have developed and and publicized. The National Lawyer's Guild, with funding from communists, they have put out their you know, their guidebook, their handbook on how to protest and how to behave and how to be like a quote unquote legal observer. You're gonna hear that term a lot legal observer, which there is no such designation, by the way, as a legal observer, like there's no protection to being a legal observer. This is just a term that they came up with to assign roles to people, you know, and then you could claim to be a legal observer even as you are driving a vehicle and blocking in ICE agents and then running into one as you attempt to flee arrest. Governor Tim Walls just did a press conference. We carried some of it before the newscast there. I'm gonna pick it up because he says something that's quite amazing. But first, Ernest has been hanging on the phone lines for a while. Let me get to him now. Ernest, welcome to the program. How are you, Thanks Pete for taking my call to start. I found this Mayor Jacob Pry to be an interesting character when he let off about the ICE agent being a murderer and definitely murderer. I think I understand that he has been considered to be a mainstream Democrat, not a Democratic Socialist, and apparently he had a tough re election campaign where he did defeat a Democratic Socialist in the last election. I don't know whether he's term limited or not, but it would seem to me to be so willing to throw out the protections of the First Amendment, the presumption of innocence, due process, all of this. And obviously you could make the argument he biased this agent's. Writes. You know, you get all these difficult concepts up. But if you're talking about actual malice and disregard, acted with this reckless disregard and all of this kind of stuff. But it looks to me from his history, if he's a mainstream Democrat, we are in real trouble here. And I'd prefer to think that some of this was done his anger of what he was saying. He was throwing a bone to the Democratic socialist that might he might have to run for a fourth term, or maybe he wants to run for governor. I don't think he really believes what he said, Oh I do politically, No, I do himself some cushion or tract. I believe. I believe he believes it. You know why. This is the exact same way he behaved after George Floyd's death. Okay, yeah, he's this is this is who he This is who this guy is. He is. He is consistent in this. They he did beat his opponent in the mayor. The mayor's race a guy by the name of Omar Fata or something like that, and the guy was Somali, and they thought that Fry was going to lose badly. But then one of the clans, one of the Somali clans, voted for Fry because they didn't like the other clan. They hated the other clan from Somalia, so they voted for Fry against that clan, and that caused all sorts of problems. Ilan Omar got all upset at the other clan and all of that. That's this is what Minneapolis is now. You know. Let me make another comment. He has nothing to do with Minneapolis, but it does have something to do with Mandavi and his picks up there for housing directors or commissioners. I would submit to you. And I think you're aware of the movie Doctor Shibago if they ever make a remake of that. I think the casting call they ought to end audition some of these people that don't like private private homes and want to put have more of a collective nature in there. Yeah, well, I mean, I do think a lot of them have experienced as theater kids. That's the I do think he's ernest. I appreciate the call, Sarah, thank you. I appreciate it all right. Let me get Ron on next. Hello, Ron, welcome to the show. Hey Pete, Hey, I was telling your cough taker there. I was a short police officer for almost thirty years, and back in the seventies, we me and my sergeant, we were chasing a stolen car are stolen truck over on Independence Boulevard and suspect ran me four times in my patrol car and we finally wrecked out on Independis at Idawha, and I got out because my car hit a tree and I got out and he kept swung the jeep around towards me. And when he did that, I fired it in four times with my service revolver, and I put one round into his head rest. That's how close I came to killing him. But he wrecked again and we got him out of the car. And uh so you know, I've been there, I've done that. And you're not thinking about rules and regulations when somebody's try and run you down with a car. Yeah, we are all Monday morning quarterbacking this agent who had less than two seconds to decide whether or not that vehicle was going to kill him. Sure, you know. And the people in the people in the up in the brass room there, they don't have to make any decisions that fast, but they all showing the street does right. Yeah, Ron, I appreciate the call, sir, and glad you're all right, and thank you for your service to appreciate it. Oh yeah, thank you, all right, yes, sir, take care. Let me get back to this press conference. Tim Walls just gave. Listen to what he says in this next club here. We believe in states rights. We believe the federal government needs to stay out of this. We believe that the situation has gotten worse and less safe because of their presence. And I will just say there were two incidents yesterday. I saw after this that it just tore at my soul. I saw an individual at the scene identify themselves as medical personnel, a physician, and asked to provide aid. And an ICE agent said, I do not care. That lack of humanity was chilling to me. And after this incident happened, and after the tensions rose, ICE agents entered a Minnesota school, causing disruptions at that school. I can't say this strongly enough as governor, as a parent, as a teacher, to our elected representatives, Democrats and Republicans, I beg you, I implore you to tell them to stay out of our schools. This tragedy will be magnified one hundredfold if this fight moves into the hallways of our public schools amongst our youth, and they're watching us. They're watching us. Now, how we respond? Why would there be a fight again? He started off by saying, we believe in states rights. He is literally using the Confederate argument. He's literally trying to nullify state federal law. We believe in states rights. The federal government has no role here. That is not correct. There was a there was a war fought over nullification. He said yesterday. We've never been at war with the federal government, which I find to be bizarre. He was a history teacher. We did fight a war with the federal government. It was called the Civil War. That was the fight. It was over nullification, right, Like, we're not a part of this anymore. Oh, yes you are. No, we're going to nullify it. No you're not, and we go to war. So like, to me, this is very clear. And by the way, this is a member of the National Guard. Tim Walls is a member of the National Guard. Like he's opening himself up to all sorts of hmmm, well, I guess charges. But at least aches as a guardsman, and maybe that's what he's angling for. But this idea also that they can't go into schools, that's not true either. They can. They've avoided doing that. But if you've got some say pedophile that is a criminal, illegal alien that's working at a school district, I would want ICE to go in there and get that pedophile. Are you saying that they should not. That's what they picked up yesterday, They picked up a pedophile in Minneapolis. Fox News confirms Ice arrested a Somalian illegal alien sex offender in Minneapolis who had prior conviction in twenty sixteen for first degree criminal sexual conduct for forcing a victim to perform oral relations on him multiple times. Mahad Abdu La Kadir Yusuf also had prior arrest for first degree assault, has an active warrant from twenty twenty four for obstructing police. They tried to arrest him at his apartment, but the building manager blocked Ice from entering and shielded the convicted sex offender. This time they got them in a targeted operation, Like, what are you guys even doing up there? What are you doing? Who are you defending? Why are you doing this? Part of this is internet radicalization, by the way, that's what part of this is. We talked about it with the kid that pledged loyalty to ISIS and then was going to go on a stabbing massacre spree in mint Hill on New Year's Eve, and law enforcement had no problem talking about how the kid got radicalized online. What do you think is happening with these protesters, these agitators, these people that are engaged in violent activity against law enforcement? What do you think where do you think they're getting radicalized? It's the same dynamic, It's just a different ideology with a shared common goal, which is to destabilize Western civilization, tear the existing dam replace it with something where you will have your utopia or you'll have the power. I had a bunch of audio to play from yesterday's news conferences, but We just got another bunch of news conferences today. This latest one was Tim Walls, governor of Minnesota. We've been listening to his comments. Let's pick them up again. So I've got a few simple ass Let us the professionals handle this on Minnesota soil this investigation. De escalate this citulation by removing yourselves from the situation with this two thousand agents that were put here. So leave. So the way to de escalate is to stop enforcing the law. Do you hear yourself? Do Democrats actually hear themselves when they make this argument? This is a decarceration, defund the police argument. This is why I don't believe when they're like, oh, you know that defund the police thing. It you know, we were never for that and all that. No, they still believe in this stuff. They just know it doesn't pull very well. And when people see the results, they don't like living in crime infested neighborhoods. So what he's arguing here is for Ice to leave because Minnesota citizens and maybe non citizens are attacking federal law enforcement officers, but don't attack the local law enforcement officers. Don't do that. That's bad. Don't do that. We're on your side. We're you're there to protect you. You shouldn't be attacking us like you were doing a couple of years ago in the streets of Minneapolis. Right. But the way to de escalate is to remove yourselves, is to get out of Minnesota, is to stop going after criminal illegal aliens, stop deportations. No, No, that's the position of the federal government. That's my position. No, this is not going to stop. So your recourse here, your response can be either cooperate so these things go smoothly, or get out of the way. But if you insist on encouraging people to take to the streets and attack ice agents, more people are going to be injured, more people are going to die. That's how these things happen. That's what happens in any mob mentality. So those are the options people. And above all else, stay out of our schools. I'd like to ask you to care, but that might be a step too far for some people. But I know Minnesotan's care. No, this this is how you know. This is a bad faith ask. This is just posturing, because if you actually were trying to convince these people to get out of your state, you wouldn't do the backhanded insults at them, right, you would actually try to ingratiate yourself, to befriend them and to try to make them care, rather than say, I know, you don't care. You know, it's a good way to not get what you want is to do that. So we'll protest peacefully. We were winning courts. We will certainly win in the defense of our democracy because the American people see what's happening. I don't even know what that means. But the way that we don't win and the way that we lose if this turns towards violence and allows them to escalate. I did hear a rumor that Governor Walls's wife had already opened up all of the windows in her house so she could smell the tires burning. You know, just a question. By the way, if you're on the left, you probably aren't even aware that she said that, because it's got no coverage in left wing or legacy media outlets. But she did say that that she opened up the windows during the summer of fiery but mostly peaceful protests. It cannot happen. So I asked the grasstop leaders out there, the faith leaders, the folks who are on the streets, and in many times the true leaders are not the elected officials, they're the folks on the ground. I beg you, implore you follow those words of the leaders we've had. I had the privilege of serving with John Lewis, and John talked about good trouble. I'm not telling you not to find good trouble. But I asked John many times. I said, John, I don't know if i'd have yourself restraint. Didn't you want to lash out? And he said yes, daily, But he said I wanted to win this. I wanted to do what right, and I wanted justice to prevail. And to do that, I knew the only way was to not lash out, to not give into that. So to each and every one of you, we're not going to win this through violence. We're going to win it through justice. We're going to win it through compassion. We're going to win it through Minnesota and ice, and we're going to win it by holding every one of these people accountable as they should for what we've seen on the streets of Minneapolis. With that, I'm going to turn to Commissioner Jacob. All right, so we'll stop it there. He's going to talk about troop levels and stuff like that. So there's Governor Walls a little bit earlier today from Minneapolis. You know, stories are powerful. They help us make sense of things, to understand experiences. Visit creativideo dot com from the text line Jim says, was the woman in Minneapolis actually from Minneapolis or that neighborhood? Has that question been answered? Could she have been an agitator shipped in from another area? So I don't know with a one hundred percent certainty. Here is the initial reporting. This comes from the New York Post about thirty seven year old Renee Nicole Good described herself as a mother, a wife, and a poet. Her mother was the one who announced that she was the woman in the car, She told the Star Tribune newspaper. Her mom said she was extremely compassionate. She's taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving, and affectionate. She was an amazing human being. She was probably terrified and said the circumstances of the death were quote so stupid. She was the mom of a six year old boy and had recently moved to the neighborhood with her wife and son. She was killed just blocks from her home. Her young son was left an orphan by the shooting, according to his shaken grandfather. The child's father was a comedian to whom Good was previously married, but he died in twenty twenty three, also at the age of thirty seven. Okay, so Renee Good was married to a man. They had a child. He died two years ago, and then she married a woman and moved to Minneapolis. In addition to being a mom, Good was a quote writer and poet who graduated from Old Dominion University. She studied creative writing. She was originally from Colorado Springs. Her Instagram bio has a Pride flag and says she her pronouns and all of that. Now what I found interesting here also is well Two points from the New York Post article number one, footage taken near the scene appeared to show a distraught woman who identified herself as Good's wife, who sobbed as she said the shooting was her fault and that she had a young child at school. Quote they shot her in the head. I have a six year old in school, she appears to say, telling a bystander that they were new to the area and she didn't know whom to call. She goes on to say, I made her come down here. It's my fault. They just shot my wife. So obviously a lot of survivor guilt there, but this woman saying that she made her come down there. This is why I say like some of this might be a bit of the online radicalization. She goes from being married to a dude having a son. The guy dies somehow, and now she's in Minneapolis with a wife and now is engaged in protests, and according to her mom in the article, the mother was baffled by the idea of her being involved in an ice protest, saying she was quote not part of anything like that at all, but she was. In fact, here's a witness who apparently was part of the protesting. They clearly wanted her out of there because she was the main car leading the protest, is my understanding. I talked to another guy who was driving behind her, But she was she was very at she was very successful in blocking traffic. She was doing what she was what she was set out to do, and so they wanted to get her the hell out of there. Yeah, so it looked. Like she was impeding ice vehicle. Definitely. Yeah, that was her goal. That was her goal. So she was doing this thing that her mother was like, I can't imagine she would be a part of anything like this at all. So is this the influence of her wife that told her, Hey, come down here, I made her come down here. It's my fault. She was driving the car at the behest of the wife. All right, let me get to the phonees Mike, Welcome to the program. Hello Mike, Hello, Happy New Years. Oh hello, Mike, how are you? Oh yeah, I'm so exciting it was this, Mike. Yes, I don't well, I know that. I only have about two minutes, and I know you're going to use most of it, so let's let's try to keep it within two minutes. Yes, sir, I wanted to let you know. There was a new analysis that came out this morning. I will send you a link. You can watch it for yourself. But it's clear from this analysis of different videos that the ice agent was not struck by this vehicle. I don't need I don't need another analysis. I saw the video from the window down the block, and you can clearly see the cop getting hit. Okay, did you see. That video or are you just looking at the one from the rear. That's part of this analysis, and it shows that what you're thinking about this video that's very grainy. It's taken from about one hundred two hundred feet away. It's it's not clear at all, and you just look at it and see you can play it, play the audio on the air if you want to. But it's pretty clear that the that the ice agent was not struck. Does that matter? Okay? So hang on, Mike, Does it matter if the ice agent is struck or not if the car is going at him? Well, the car was not going at him. It was when you know where the bullet holes went. Right, You know where the bullet holes went. Hang on, Mike, you know where the bullet holes are. There's one in the front windshield and former mirror and then the final shot. He's standing right beside. Right because the car right. So what does that indicate to you? If there are two shots that hit the front of the vehicle. That his purpose in shooting was to try. And no, no about his position? About where where the position? Where is his position? If the two bullet holes are in the front of the vehicle, what does that indicate about where he was standing? He is off to the corner of the vehicle and not in front of it. He's in front of the vehicle. That's how you get the shot. Where they were. He was off to the front corner of the vehicle, one directly in front The other point I wanted to make in these small two minutes is you keep saying that how Democrats don't want the laws enforced. It's not that they don't want the laws enforce, it's what laws do you enforce? And how do you enforce? No, they want ice out, they want ice out, Mike, I'm not going to let you gaslight me on this. I've listened to enough Democrat leadership over the last five years, ten years actually since Trump came down the escalator. I'm well aware of the position of the Democrat Party on enforcement of immigration law. All Right, if you're listening to this show, you know I try to keep up with all sorts of current events, and I know you do too, And you've probably heard me say get your news from multiple sources. Why. Well, because it's how you detect media bias, which is why I've been so impressed with ground News. From the text line, Mike says, I think the federal officers should leave Minnesota, then Trump should cut off all federal funding to the state. Problem solved. Well, that is one way to go, I guess. Help me to understand why it was okay, according to liberals for an unarmed Ashley Babbitt to be killed by Capitol police, but the woman in Minnesota was murdered. Well, because everything is situational ethics. See. I know I'm going to anger a bunch of Trump supporters when I say this, but Ashley Babbitt should not have been trying to go through the broken window and to try to access the hallway where it is believed. It's my belief that there are a bunch of people hiding in the bathroom like Nancy Pelosi. So yeah, if you are breaking in and trying to get through a door window and a law enforcement officer is trying to protect people from a mob. See, this is the thing about mobs, Like you got one cop and you got a mob of forty people all surrounding the cop. The cop does not know what every individual in that mob is going to do. That's the thing about mobs. They behave in irrational ways. That's why we call it a mob mentality. But everything becomes situational ethics, everything becomes well, how does my team win by my interpretation of this event? And that's why I have a piece here from the Free Press. A fatal shooting in Minneapolis on Wednesday launched an immediate information war in which politicians drew lines and exchanged accusations long before they knew the facts. Yes, this is where we are now as a society because of the Internet and because of the proliferation of you know, direct to consumer video. This is where we are. In the past, media would write the narrative and that would become the truth. And then we would find out, Oh, wait a minute, that's not the truth. There are these other videos, these other eyewitness testimonies, There are more, there's more information. How about this one, hands up, don't shoot. How about what's his first name, Eric Sandman? Remember that kid? Oh he was smiling at the Native American, just smirking at Remember that story. Right. We have example after example of the initial narrative that is pushed out not being true. And so that's why you're seeing this race in the information war. The videos leave room for reasonable debate about the nature of the incident and who was at fault. It isn't clear whether Good intended to strike the officer when she turned her vehicle, or if she meant to steer beyond him and accelerate away. Her decision to accelerate cost her her life, but viewers can disagree in good faith about her motive to do so. Right, I have not said anything about what she intended to do because I don't know what she intended to do, just like I don't know if that officer thought he was in fear for his life. I and perfectly willing to wait for the investigation to occur. But nobody is going to trust the investigation. Democrats aren't going to trust the and you just heard the governor of Minnesota say they won't trust it unless they're part of it. So, now, like to be clear, they refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement on immigration matters, right, They refuse to cooperate, but are demanding cooperation from the federal government when it suits their purpose. So there's no consistency here. And by the way, on the legal matter, which is a separate issue, I'll give you a couple of a couple of opinions here from two lawyers. Number one, the agent was engaged in a legal law enforcement action. Okay, that's the first thing to understand. There was nothing unlawful about what Ice was doing. They were doing an operation they are legally allowed to do. Okay. Retired US Army Colonel Kurt Schlichter, lawyer out of California. He says, applying the law of self defense should be simple. It only gets complicated if you're trying to avoid a result you don't want. So we get two lines of argument from the left. The first is to misstate the law of self defense. They accept the facts, but falsely claim that the facts do not justify invoking self defense. For example, here we get our arguments that the woman was trying to drive away, though under the law of self defense, her intent is irrelevant. The analysis is what a reasonable cop would have thought in his position. What she thought does not matter. The second line of argument is to deny the facts, including facts that clearly show that shown on the videotapes. We saw that with people insisting despite pictures of bullet holes in the windshield and the front of the side view mirror, that the police officer was firing into the side window in an effort to deny that he was in the path of the vehicle. We just heard that from Mike Or they will minimize the facts the woman struck the police officer with what we hear is that he was only winged. That was their first That was the first round of arguments that was going around on social media on the left is that, oh, she just winged him. It wasn't that bad. So they'll minimize that as if he would have had to have been killed before the right to self defense kicks in. Then there's an attorney. He goes by the name on Twitter of shipwrecked crew. He's a long. He's a former prosecutor now a defense attorney. His last name is Shipley. That's why use shipwrecked crew anyway, he says. The officer is squarely in front of her left front bumper when she excelledrates. Remember the tires spin, the tire spin, the engine accelerates. They can hear it. They're standing right there. They can hear the engine accelerate and the wheels spin. He's standing right in front, and she misses him, mostly because he gets out of the way. She gets no credit for him having done so, by the way, under the law, she gets no credit because he was able to avoid a full front ramming. He says, this call is easy. As soon as she accelerated with the officer in front of her, she committed the twenty year version of a Section one to eleven B offence. At that moment, she became a fleeing felon and a deadly or dangerous threat to the community. That justifies the use of deadly force. The case law in favor of the officer is robust and rock solid. Once she directed her vehicle in the direction of the officer in front of her, that was assault on a law enforcement officer with a deadly or dangerous instrument. That's the car. Does not matter. If she hit him or he evaded her, None of that matters. That fact without more, made her a threat to the safety of the community if she was able to drive away. If she will run over an officer in marked clothing giving her a lawful order to stop the vehicle, then the law presumes she will run over a citizen too, if necessary use of deadly force is authorized to neutralize a threat to the community, i e. Preventing her from driving away. Now, you may not like the law, but that is the state of the law. It has developed over dozens of cases, all with multiple factual barriers. Pointing her car at the officer and starting forward was no different legally from pointing a gun at him and firing. The fact that the shooter misses is irrelevant. Again, if you don't like the law, then change the law. I'm done pretending that. Well, you know, this is just where we don't like, as Mike was trying to argue, we don't like the way it's being done. The way it's being done. The way it's being done is because the Democrat president that preceded and succeeded. Donald Trump allowed ten to fifteen million people into the country, and sanctuary cities and jurisdictions have not expelled them and have not cooperated with ICE in getting rid of them. The reason why the operations, I've been saying this since they started these operations, the reason why they look like they do is because of the policies of the sanctuary politicians. And I'm sorry if you don't like the way it looks, but I'm not sorry. I would prefer it be done differently. I would prefer it be done more covertly, but we don't have that luxury anymore because of the sheer scale of the number of people that have been allowed to stay, and now leftist agitators and activists going around and harassing and threatening and assaulting federal law enforcement officers. If you wanted to de escalate, that's on you, all right. That'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening.
