Military funding and an Iran War Update | Hour 1

This is going to be an episode that you have not heard on the radio because I was working remotely today and just as I started the program for the first hour of the show, the internet went out and that's how we connect remotely, and the internet after an hour still not back up. My internet is up, but the radio station is down. And there are three different programs that I use and can use, and none of them are working, so we're not able to connect. So I figured, you know what, I'm just going to put this out as a podcast episode and that'll be that. So what I was going to talk about on the radio show is still going to be the first hour here, which is that the house up in Washington the House of Representatives. They passed a one point fifteen trillion dollar annual defense policy bill. This is the National Defense Authorization Act, the NDAA, or as I call it, the NADAH. I actually don't call it that. I just call it the NDAA or military spending bill. Six Democratic House lawmakers crossed the aisle yesterday to join a majority of Republicans. There were some Republicans who also crossed the aisle and voted with the Democrats against this bill. So the six House Democrats who voted for the NDAA are Presentatives Henry Koyar from Texas, Jared Golden from Maine, Vicente Gonzales from Texas, also Adam Gray from California, Marie Gluesen camp Perez from Washington. So these are all yes votes, as well as North Carolina's own Don Davis, who's in a tough re election fight in I think it's the first district of North Carolina thanks to the redistricting that the General Assembly did. You also have the independent former Republican Kevin Kyleie from California. He voted in support of it as well. It passed by four votes, two sixteen to two twelve Davis sits on the House Armed Services Committee, and he cited how it would help bases in his district, including Seymour Johnson Air Force Base and the Marine Corps air Station Cherry Point. He said, quote by investing in our military installations, strengthening American manufacturing and modernizing our military, this legislation helps ensure our service members remain ready to meet evolving global security challenges. Okay, So he was a yes vote voting no. So a majority of Democrats, virtually all of them opposed the legislation because they're opposed to winning a war, namely, in this case, the Iran War. And this says all of the hallmarks of the two thousand and four two thousand and five time frame with the Iraq War as well, when you remember John Kerry famously was saying that he voted for the war before he was against it and all of that. They had concerns about a provision in the bill that would establish the United States Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative. So Israel, right, Okay, So that's the reason to oppose it. It's just about Israel. The section that they are citing, and I actually have it here directs the Secretary of Defense to appoint an executive agent at the Pentagon to oversee the newly formed initiative leading the charge against this and against Israel, but totally not an anti semi is Congressman Thomas Massey from Kentucky, who's just gone insane. He led the unsuccessful effort to remove this section section two nineteen earlier this week. He said that this provision quote tragically merges our military and supply chains with Israel's, and you'd be surprised to learn I'm sure that it does not. It does not do that. He said. Let's hope this version fails in the Senate, because section two nineteen is a betrayal of our sovereignty, then you'd be probably surprised to learn it. It is not a betrayal of sovereignty. It's pretty standard. Actually, I have it here. I'll go into it. The bill, also, by the way, raises pay for service members by five to seven percent. It expands US defense production capacity. It green lights about almost two billion dollars for barracks and family housing, and it authorizes about fifty six billion for aircraft development, including the next generation fighter Jet B twenty one raiders, F thirty fives and others. Okay, so about this, we're merging with the Israeli army. Lie, it's a lie. Here is John Spencer. He's a war scholar, chair of the War Studies Madison Policy Forum, and he's the executive director at the Urban Warfare Institute. He says, the misinformation around section two nineteen used to be two twenty four, but there were amendments. But anyway, so section two nineteen, he said, this misinformation continues despite the baseless ideas and lawes pushed about it. It doesn't die. Section two nineteen does not merge the US and Disraeli militaries, doesn't grant Israel access to US intelligence or factories or command structures. That's not how the US military works in any way. It simply directs the Secretary of War to designate an executive agent to coordinate expanded bilateral defense technology cooperation in joint R and D research and development, as well as testing, integration and industrial efforts in areas like AI, cyber and missile defense. And by the way, the bill, this provision actually gives Congress more transparency and more reports about what's done. So, for example, it says this section would require the Secretary of Defense to designate an executive agent responsible for synchronizing cooperative efforts between the US and Israel, including bilateral defense technology, research, development, testing, evaluation, integration, and industrial cooperation. Okay, So all that does is put somebody in charge to synchronize cooperative efforts. It's not a merging. It's your military and our military where we are working on things together. Then this person would oversee that cooperative effort. That's what it does. Then there is Title three Operation and Maintenance blah blah blah blah blah, and then it says this section. This is Section twelve twenty one would extend the existing war Reserved Stockpile authority for Israel established under a previous section of the Defense Appropriations. So it extends an existing authority, so that's not new. The next section would modify twelve seventy nine of the National Defense Authorization Act, but from twenty sixteen. Okay, And it extends the authority for the Secretary of Defense to conduct collaborative research, development, testing, and evaluation of anti tunnel capabilities with Israel through twenty twenty nine. This section would also expand the authority to include subterranean threats of all types. Because I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not. We don't have a whole lot of experience dealing with For example, just to make one up at random, a bunch of Islamic jihadis that you build hundreds of miles of tunnels from which to launch attacks and then escape into Israel, on the other hand, does have a bit of experience in that regard, so probably a good idea to find out what they know, right, seems like a good idea to me. This section. The next section here would modify existing National Defense Authorization Actors was from twenty twenty to extend the authority for the Secretary of Defense to conduct collaborative research on technologies to counter unmanned systems so drones, because again seems like Israel has a They've got a bit of experience in that regard to so this is a cooperative R and D type of a deal with Israel for the stuff that they have been working on and that they have expertise in. This is not a merging of militaries. It's absolutely absurd, just absurd, which, by the way, why would there be emerging of militaries if they're already in control of ours, right, Like that's what I've been told, that we're being led around by Israel, and Israel's pulling all the strings. They're making us do all of this stuff. So like, why would they even need this, Why would Israel need this law? They've already got the thing that you are so worried about them getting. So it's almost as if I know this is gonna sound weird, but it's almost as if critics of Israel are lying. It's almost like that I'm kind of getting that sense, kind of getting the sense. Look, you can have all sorts of like some of the other Republicans opposed it because they said it wasn't paid for, they want to see cuts and other things whatever, Like those are all separate arguments. This is just about the Thomas Massy dumb assery, dumb massy red you might say, like this is just about that lie that he is promulgating. And for somebody who represents a district in Kentucky, the fact that all he seems to care about is Israel on everything is probably a pretty good reason why he lost that election. To you know, voters in his own district not going to relitigate all of that. You can go back and pull the podcast that I did after his primary defeat in that race. So next up an Iran war update. Okay, So the Iran war update, we begin with US forces that struck Iranian military targets across western north against western, Northwestern, Central, and southern Iran. This was over the last two days. Centcom. US Central Command said that it hit military operations centers, maritime capabilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure. In the eleventh consecutive evening of strikes against Iran, geolocated Sentcom footage showed that this is according to the Institute for the Study of War geolocated sent Coom footage showed that US forces struck military installations at Boucher Airport on July twenty one. They hit Larak Island in the Hormoscan Province yesterday. The previous Iranian traffic separation scheme through the Strait of Wurmuz, which was introduced back in April, that passed through Kesham and Larak Islands. Iranian authorities confirmed that strikes targeted two locations back on July twenty one. They also confirmed explosions in the Hormazgan Province as well as Bashir Province and missile attacks near a whole bunch of places that I'm not even going to bother reading all of them because nobody knows where any of these places are. The United States struck in Islamic Revolutionary Guard Core Ground Forces base in Kuzstan Province. Geolocated footage showed a major fire and explosions at the IRGC Ground Forces Bekhardian Barracks in Bebajaran Bebajara Ahaana. See what I mean, like, you don't know where that is? This facility though hosts the IRGC Ground Forces fifteenth Emam Hassan Mochaba Special Forces Brigade. That unit deployed to Syria a decade ago and incurred casualties fighting for the Assad regime. This unit was also likely involved in suppressing protests in twenty twenty two. Now, the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arajji, I think is how he pronounces that he went onto the Twitter machine and invoked the I for an eye doctrine, an eye for an eye, which guys like, I don't think, like, if you're going to start the eye for an eye doctrine, now you are way behind, just way behind. Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State, responded to that tweet. Thus, late Aaran is begging us, okay, both directly and indirectly. Let's do a deal. Let's talk. Let's talk. Aran is begging every The problem with Iran is every time they make a deal, the people that are in charge there they either break it or they want to change it. So it looks like they're not ready to make a deal. So they're going to continue to pay a price, and they're going to every night the price gets higher and higher and higher. And that's what's happening now and until they maybe in a few days they'll be ready to make a deal once they realize that this is not a winning proposition for them. And that's what the President is outlining, the idea that this is going to continue. It's not going to continue this way. The price will continue to get higher every single night until they come to their senses. You know, guys, I saw a Rachi, their foreign minister, who the other day say or something about their policies. An eye for an eye. The President's policy is a head for an eye. I mean, honestly, that's what it's going to be. I mean, they will pay a very heavy price for the things they're doing. They're already paying a very heavy price. You guys don't know because you. Don't cover it. You're not in Iran, you're not in the street, they don't have a free media. But they're going to continue to pay a very heavy price. A head for an eye. That's a new that is a new one to me. So a head for an eye in response to the eye for an eye. This is like the art of war by Don Sue. Like when you put a blockade up, we put up a blockade of your blockade. When you say I for an eye, we say ahead. For an eye. Rubio also said, quote, despite their tough talk and their stupid lego videos, they're suffering tremendously and they will suffer more until they come to their senses. Have you seen these lego videos? These things, Yeah, they're like AI generated videos, but they are of like lego people, you know, like the little Lego men. Like, yeah, they like make these little movies using lego people. And of course it shows you know, Iran completely victorious, and you know Donald Trump being you know, killed or captured and like all of these things. It's just it's it's a very weird kind of propaganda effort. Uh Israeli journalist Ami Siegall says more than fifty thousand US service members are now operating across the Middle East as President Trump gives a dire warning to Iran. President Trump says the US will destroy one bridge or power plant for every time Iran fires on a ship in the Strait of Hormus. So you fire on a single ship in the strait, and we're taking out one of your power plants. I don't know what the exchange rate is if Iran takes out a power plant or something in one of the Gulf nations. But once again, I just feel the need to point this out. Have you noticed the one country in the Middle East that Iran is not attacking Israel? That's probably because they're Yeah, they're probably controlled by Israel as well. And then there is the Then there is the well, no, they're not attacking Israel because they know what Israel will do. Right, They're testing America. They're they're testing Trump. That's what Iran is doing. They don't believe Trump will do to them what Iran would do to them if Iran did to Israel. Right, what they've been doing to all of their neighbors is like gloves off, Israel goes in and starts assassinating everybody again. Right. Then Trump put out a truth social post, the civil He says, the civil nuclear deal, there will be no enrichment of material. The civil nuclear deal being made between the United States Department of Energy and Saudi Arabia, which pertains only to non military use such as the ones that Iran and UAE already have, will be approved, but is totally subject to Saudi Arabia joining the very respected and successful Abraham Accords. The US is not opposed to civil, non enriched nuclear facilities. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Right, people are freaking out that, Oh my gosh, why is Trump giving so Audi Arabia nukes? No, it sounds like what he's offering them is the same thing that was offered to Iran before all of this happened. Right, the United States said to Iran, you claim to need nuclear material for peaceful civilian use, and the US, the Trump administration, the negotiators offered Iran that material. But it's not enriched all the way. You know, it's like three percent enrichment. It's only for use in civilian applications for your power plants and such. And Iran said, no, we have a right to enrich it ourselves. And the only reason to do that at risk of war is if you want to enrich for a nuclear weapon. Right, that's the point. So this sounds like this is the deal. Now, what is Trump offering or what is he asking for in return? Is that Saudi Arabia join the Abraham Accords, which they've been reticent to do ever since October seven, because that was the point, by the Hamas leader's own words, that was the reason why. And this is why Iran and you know, through the proxy of Hamas. This is why they launched the attack on October seventh, was because they wanted to stop the alignment of their neighbors with Israel, because Israel's the little Satan. So this we'll see what happens. But this is an interesting negotiation tactic to try to get the Saudis to, you know, to move on this. It's been it's been a big frustration and disappointment. Like the Saudis and a lot of these other golf countries, they're just like, you know, sitting back and they're like, oh my gosh, we took a rocket attack. You know, you guys need to do something, and you need to take out Iran. It's like, well, you know, you guys can help too. Oh no, no, we couldn't possibly because of domestic concerns and all of that. Iranian workers who have gone months without pay may have only two months of financial resilience left without government intervention, according to a labor representative in Iran. That's according to Iran media. The Kremlin declined to comment on a Reuter's report that US intelligence analysts were investigating possible Russian assistance in Iranian drone attacks on CIA facilities in the Persian Gulf. Four people familiar with US intel told Reuters that analysts had reached no firm conclusions about possible Russian involvement, but the official cited the strike's effectiveness and apparent precision, as well as Russia's broader technical support for Iran, as possible evidence. Right, So, the fact that they hit these CIA facilities in the Persian Gulf, it's like, hmm, how would they have that kind of precise targeting when everything so far has not been that precise. And so this has raised the specter that Russia is giving them coordinates or something on and targeting options That would not be good. That would not be good. Also, don't really know, Like, don't the Russians have some other stuff going on they need to pay a little bit more attention to I feel like they do, all right. A couple more developments in the Iran war, this from Iran International. France warned Iran of consequences after Iranian security officers detained two French diplomats in Tehran for almost four hours and allegedly beat one of them. This is according to French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Baroul Barrow, adding that the diplomats had already returned home, so they are safe. They've they've left the country, but this thing did happen. Barol described Sunday's incident as an extremely serious and premeditated assault and accused Iranian authorities of violating the diplomat's immunity. Quote it is clear that this cannot go without consequences because it was illegal and also unspeakable, beaut told Radio France, adding that Paris was quote assessing all options available. The diplomats returned to Paris yesterday and were receiving support. He said they remained shaken after security officers detained them at a private location, held them without access to communication and prevented them from contacting the French embassy. And then today France evacuated its embassy following Britain due to fears of security escalation. So that was their I don't know that there could be some other response to this. They said. They are, you know, they are assessing all options available. But the first response was for them to leave, to flee, so they they're out. Meanwhile, Greece, according to AFP News, Greece is rolling out a four point two billion euro defense plan that includes an anti drone shield. So they're doing like an iron dome type of a deal as well, which brings us to the hoodies, not the blowfist, just the hoodies. So you're hearing probably a lot about this other strait called the Bab al Mandeb Strait. And if you look at the map this and I know we as Americans, it's our you know, it's our birthright to not no geography. But if you think about it in these terms, it connects like you got the Red Sea and it connects to the Gulf of Aden, right, and that's the the where it connects. Where those two bodies of order connect is the Bab al Mandeb Strait. It is ordered by Saudi Arabia. Then on the southern side you've got well, you've got Saudi Arabia and Yemen. Then on the other side, like on the African side, you've got Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia. Right, that's on the African side of this strait, sort of like on the other side of the Persian Gulf from Saudi Arabia. Anyway, that's where the hoodies have been causing problems. This from the Institute for the Study of War at least seven vessels have changed course to avoid transiting through the Bab al Mandeb Strait in light of the Hoodie blockade on Saudi ports, because the Saudis use that straight and I believe if they were to go north, they go through the Suez Canal. I think that's where that is. But again I'm an American, so I don't have to know this geography. The Hoodies imposed the blockade against Saudi Arabia about three days ago. Six commercial vessels had to change their course away from Saudi ports. Yesterday, according to ship tracking data that was cited by Reuter's News, another oil tanker that was bound for Yambu, Saudi Arabia's main oil export terminal on the Red Sea. This ship turned away from the Bab al Mandeb Strait while in the Gulf of Aiden yesterday. Commercially available ship tracking data from yesterday shows that thirty vessels have gone through the strait. But that is a decrease from the sixty four commercial vessels that went through the strait to two days prior. Okay, so the traffic so you were seeing like sixty sixty five ships going through the strait. The Bab Almandab straight, but now that's been cut like in half. Hoodi officials have emphasized that the Hoodies will maintain their blockade on Saudi ports until Saudi Arabia lifts its blockade on ports in yeah, Yomen. You'll recall Saudi's were doing some fighting in Yemen because Yemen is their neighbor. Reports are that the Hoodies attacked two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea yesterday. Marco Rubio had some thoughts on the Hoodies' new involvement here. You know, the Housies largely were smart and stayed out of all this throughout the conflict, but they now apparently have gotten themselves suckered into this, going after Saudi Arabia and their ships. And by the way, that's you know, I was reading reports a few hours ago that there is actually a Saudi fuel ship that's flag Chinese. It's a Chinese ship. Are they going to blow up the Chinese ship? And this becomes a problem for China, This will become a. Problem for the whole world. But I hope that will. De escalate because I think the Housies frankly got snookered into this thing by the Iranians. Hmm, giving them an off ramp. Hey, guys, you're getting played by the Iranians. I don't know, we'll see if it works, but probably not a good idea to be firing on Chinese flagged ships right, making enemies of the Chinese two A year ago, this is Donald Trump on truth Social. A year ago, the United States of America attacked very powerfully the Hoodies for their interference with commerce and trade by shooting at ships. Since that time and during our conflict with Iran, they have acted very responsibly. Unfortunately, now they are starting up again, shooting at two Saudi Arabian ships last night. Please let this truth serve the post on truth social. Let this truth see so they are called truths, Okay, I did not know that. Let this truth serve to represent that if they do this again, the US will hold Iran responsible in that the Hoodies are a surrogate and or proxy of Iran, and major military punishment will be inflicted upon Iran. And of course the Hooties themselves, who I'm very disappointed with in that they have until now acted very professionally and smart. Thank you for your attention to this matter. It's just, oh my goodness, it's all just the way he talks to them, the way he talks to people. I've never seen anything like it, no one has. But all right, so, hoodies, you want to keep, you know, messing around here, You're you're gonna find out. But also Iran's gonna find out. We're going to take it out on them too, So you have been warned. And one final related item here This was interesting. This came out actually a few weeks ago, published at the Jerusalem Post. Hamas operatives planned to carry out a terrorist attack in Europe on the second anniversary of October seventh. This is according to German Federal Prosecutor General Jen's Jen Yen's raw. I don't know what that family name might indicate, but Jens Rommel revealed at his office's annual press conference recently. Since autumn twenty twenty five, the Federal Prosecutor's office has arranged the arrest of a total of nine Hamas suspects, several of them abroad, specifically in the UK, Cyprus and Denmark. The suspects are believed to have been involved in transporting weapons and AMMO since at least the summer of twenty twenty five. The area think about this. These countries, they were not on board with what Israel was doing, right, they were criticizing Israel. So why is Hamas targeting those countries? Hmmm hmm. Now maybe the rest of the story would give us an indication. The area of activity under investigation was primarily Germany, but also extended to Vienna, where one suspect allegedly stored weapons. Ramo confirms that authorities recovered a pre recorded claim of responsibility video from one suspect in which an attack was announced around the second anniversary of the assault on Israel. More broadly, Ramo, so why would you make that video? Right? These are the martyr videos that they make. You know, here I am, I'm doing this, you know, against Israel, you know, Allahu akbar and all of that. More broadly, Ramel warned that Europe no longer serves merely as a place where foreign terrorist organizations generate funds to finance their terrorism. Quote. Rather, Germany and other European countries are now increasingly being viewed as operational areas for possible attacks. Who could have foreseen such a thing? They often hold European citizenship or residents permits, allowing them to move freely. The article says Hamas is not the only group responsible for such plans. Back in September, prosecutors charged a Lebanese national who on behalf of Hezbollah, procured components for building military drones in Germany and other European countries, particularly the drone engines. The transactions involved deals worth about a million euros. One drone engine obtained by the accused was proven to have been used in an attack on a nursing home in Israel. Right, so this is who we the West are fighting. This isn't just about Israel. Israel is just the issue they use. The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution to tear down the West. This is what their project is. It's why they don't care. They're in these European nations and they're still doing the same kinds of stuff in those European countries, even though those European countries have taken the Hamas side in the war in Gaza. It doesn't matter. Everybody who's not in the Dar al Islam, the House of Islam is in the Dar al Harb, the house of war. That's what you're dealing with, all right. That'll do it for this episode.
