The Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended Dougan doing a Dugan up there like Sheriff Gary, not my fault McFadden does here that one judge that helped one person get out of ICE's custody or try to Ice caught him. They've suspended her. I'll give you details in a minute. First, let me jump over and get Jerry on the phone because he's been holding on for a bit. Hello Jerry, welcome to the show. Hey, I'm okay. How are you? I'm living large because I'm sad. Oh all right, anyway, you can I I mean, if you're looking to do something about that, you can do what I did, PhD a lot. Anyway. I haven't married to my wife for she's from Bogata, Colombia. Twenty six and a half years ago. We spent about ten thousand dollars going through immigration correctly and when when we got everything going her legal status as she was an alien. So it there's a difference between an immigrant. An immigrant is somebody that completes the process legally. Everybody else is considered an alien illegal alien. Well, alien is a descriptor that is used in the law, and it goes back, Yeah, it goes back, you know, two hundred and fifty years and yeah, somebody who is from another place, and there are different statuses of aliens. You've got resident alien, right that somebody who is like they're living here maybe for work or something, but they don't intend to become a citizen. So but then alien became, you know, a bad word. You can't use the word alien, you can't use the word illegal. And so that's why they've changed the way that we talk about this in order to soften these terms, because the terms actually conjured up an idea in people's minds, because we knew what these terms meant, and so the left wanted to they wanted to shatter that the imagery of what we conjure up in our minds, and so they change the language so they can control the debate. Don't you think it's time to change it back? Yeah, I mean I say illegal alien. I mean look, I can also say unauthorized immigrant as well, or an unauthorized alien. Either way, it doesn't matter to me because we all know what we're talking about, and all of these efforts to try to use different words to describe the exact same thing. It's just a it's just a it's a it's a psyop, and it's propaganda. That's all it is. It is, and I'm tired of it. Yeah, no, I agree. And like I said in the last hour, people who go about doing this the right way usually have the harshest attitudes towards the illegal immigrants or aliens that are trying to abuse the system and take advantage of it and try to get an amnesty down the road because they didn't have to go through all of the hoops that the people who did it correctly had to go through. And and yeah, it's insulting. Yeah, yep, Jerry, I appreciate the call, buddy. And my wife and I are part of that very insulted group. Yeah, no, I don't blame you one bit. I don't blame you or her one bit. So I appreciate the call Jerry good to hear from you. Thank you. I got a message here from Stanley who says, since it seems that undocumented people living here actually have constitutional rights, maybe we've been looking at this all wrong. The problem just might be that we are documented. Maybe we all ought to become undocumented and then actually live free in our own country. How about that. See, right, when you start dismantling the language in service to a political agenda, it creates all of these types of conflicts in law, in practice, in our just general understanding of an issue. And again it's intentional. It's why they change these words. They and they come up and they come up with some you know, feel good reason. Oh, we don't want people to to feel bad it's mean or something like that. Or they try to justify like, actually they haven't been adjudicated as here illegally and so blah blah blah blah blah. But we all know what class of people we are talking about. And that does not mean like the word the word is not offensive because of the word, right, it's the condition and people then make assumptions, they draw conclusions, or they have direct knowledge of the conditions, and that's what then makes the word insulting or offensive or whatever. It's not the word. It's not the term illegal alien. It's a legal term. It's from the founding of the country, right. I mean, look the the the law that Trump cited, the alien the Enemy Aliens Act, right, whatever that was, it says it right there in the name, and that thing is from the founding of the country. It's from John Adams's term. So it's not the term. And I don't care to play the word games about it any longer, like I am done. There was a time. See, this is what the left does is they weaponize your politeness, your your desire not to offend, to get along right, basically, your your kindness, and they use that against you. They make you feel bad if you use a word to describe the thing that has been or they will they try to make you feel bad if you use a word that we have always used to describe a thing. And then they change this and they say, oh no, no, the new word now is undocumented immigrant. It's different. And then it changed. Then it went to undocumented migrant. Right, they got of immigrant and now just a migrant, as if that word didn't have a specific meaning before either. And now what last week I was reading the article that I'm trying to remember what publication it was out of, but I forget. But it was a lefty I think it was Wired dot com or something, and they started calling it irregular immigration. That's what they're calling it now, irregular immigration. Right to soften it, so it's to see, it's not the same. It's see, it's not so bad, no, but it is. It is. The Wisconsin Supreme Court has suspended Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge Hannah Dugan for pulling a Dugan for doing a Dugan. She was arrested by the FBI charged last week for allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant. There you go, this is ABC news. An undocumented immigrant evade arrest. The state Supreme Court did this. She's facing ueeing two federal criminal offenses, one of which is a felony and one is a misdemeanor. The Supreme Court said, quote, this court is charged in the Wisconsin Constitution with exercising superintending and administrative authority over the courts of this State in the exercise of that constitutional authority, and in order to uphold the public's confidence in the courts of this State during the pendency of the criminal proceeding against Judge Dugan, we conclude on our own motion that it is in the public interest that she be temporarily relieved of her official duties. She was charged with two counts of obstructing and impeding a proceeding before a department or agency of the United States, and concealing an individual to prevent his discovery and arrest. That's according to the criminal complaint. Her attorney, former US Attorney Stephen Biskupich, said that the judge will quote defend herself vigorously and looks forward to being exonerated. I'm not so sure about that. Judge Hannah Dugan has committed herself to the rule of law and the principles of due process for her entire career as a lawyer and a judge. But that's the thing. The victims were there in the courtroom for this proceeding that was then short circuited because the judge obstructed it. That's not due process. Those victims didn't get due process. They got they got their butts kicked by some guy that you then helped to escort out the back door. They didn't get due process. If convicted on these charges, Judge Dugan could face up to six years in prison. Hello, Bret, welcome to the program. How you doing, sir? Right, what's up? I'm going to tell you about the legal aliens, like the phrase like I knew a guy that came from Jamaica to. Charlotte and he would run around buildings and and he'll say I'm an alien. It's called me an alien. But now he's a prominent picture is Charlotte, like on the council and everything. But I think it should be another word for it. Man, Wait, there's a wait, hang on, there's a Jamaican preacher who is Now. I didn't say a preacher. Oh I didn't say a preacher. Oh I did not say a preacher. What did you say? I say he came from Jamaica. Yeah, and now he's a prominent person that's on the Congress and he's running for Congress. And he's running for Congress, yes, sir, yes, sir. Well, if he's not a citizen, he would not be he would not be able to exactly. He would not be able to do it. Yeah, but now he's a citizen. Who is I first got here? Oh he is a citizen. Now he had to be, he'd be running for Congress. And I don't know, We've had some pretty crazy people run for office that that had no business. I get it. I get yeah, yeah, yeah, so yeah, I mean I don't under and look, I do not understand there are people that run for these offices that have no chance of winning whatsoever, but are willing to spend the money the filing fees and to run for Congress. It's like thousands of dollars. But people do it. I don't understand why they do it. But there are people that do it and they have no shot to win. Because they love they love this country. Man. Yeah, I think my dad. Now I think I think for some of them, it's an ego thing. Okay, okay, I get it. Yeah. Now maybe some people, you know, there could be some that are really motivated they want to serve the country. That's possible too, but I think it's a I think it's an ego thing. But all right, so who he say? This guy he is from Jamaica and he used to run around claiming he was he was an alien. Yeah, like, yeah, he was an alien. But he's on. I mean, he's very prominent inha. I'm not going to say his name, but he's very prominent. Why won't you tell me his name? Give me his initials. I'm going to look into it. No, you need to talk to me personally. What I am talking to you personally? Or is it you you talking? Just five found found me? Is a watch a lot of wats going around the radio? Fifty thousand of them? Yeah, yeah, there's a thousand, yes, sir? All right, Well, Brett, do me a favor and send me an email you send me or yeah, send me an email, or hit me up on Twitter if you got a if you have a Twitter time. I'm not I'm not on any social media black boys, because I don't. Believe in it. Okay, well, I mean it doesn't exist. It does exist, it does exist. I don't believe in it. What do you mean you don't believe in it? It tells lies? Oh well that's true, but that's true. It's fake news, Like like our president says, it's fake news. Every I believe what he's Something you say is fake news. On the internet. Yeah, yeah, there's a lot that's true. There's a lot of b s the internet that is true. So all right, so I got to look for all right, so you send me an email? Do you know what my email addresses? No, sir? All right? I would say it's very easy, but it's got my last name in it. That's not easy to spell. You calendar, K and K. Okay, I'm not I'm not a lyric man. I didn't say, all right, how do you think how do you think my last name is spelled? You know. You're breaking up, Brett, you're breaking up? What how do you think my last calendar? Calendar? Calendar? Right, no calendar, No, it's first calendar. Yeah, Pete calender. There's no d in there. Calender. Yeah, okay, right, so it's Pete at the Pete Calendar show dot com. K A l I any r? Yes, I mean I'd be curious. I want to take a look at this guy, see see what his story is, because like I want to know. I would want to know, like if he's running running around saying he's an alien, does he mean an ill before? That's before, that's when he came to America, Right, he didn't know anything about it. So he was like, I'm an illegal alien. But now he's on the congress, I mean not Congress, but like city council. He's running for kids city. Council, probably running for mayor. But he's very prominent. He has a lot of things out here, running and shaking the movie in Charlotte, North Carolina. But when I met him, he was running behind builders saying he's an alien. All right. It says that you well, look, there have been There was a guy who ran for mayor back in the early two thousands who said that Charlotte was cursed. And I think his name was like Ramsey. It was like some traveling art exhibit that came through, like the tomb of Ramsey's the second or something like that, and he said that. Man want to raise here. Man, I've never heard that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, this guy, I forget his name, but he was he was crazy and he was like, we're a curse, and so the only way to break the curse is to do some ceremony at the trade and try on and stuff like. And that's what he would do if he was made Charlotte. Hey, Charlotte is not cursed. Man, we have we have we have the best people from from white black Puerto Rican anybody. No, I agree, we have good people here, man, I agree. Look, there's a reason I've been here for thirty years. Like I love Charlotte and that's why. But that was what he was trying. He ran when Pat McCrory was mayor. He ran against McCrory. Yeah, he ran as like an independent or something like that, so he didn't. Have to get and I can and I can tell you a story about Pat McCrory. No, like like the dude he says, like the dow he say. That beat up his car was a stick? Yeah, was that you on the Yeah? No, no it's not me. Man. Oh okay, oh I don't know. You were going to tell me a story. I know you. No, you can't. You can't really judge. You can't judge people. Because he was a person that was real, real smart. He was smarter than you probably anybody on. This radio station. Well that's not saying much. It's not saying much to you, but no, I know definitely. You know. Well, well, it's interesting that you know so many interesting people. Bret. Send me an email. I would like to know who this candidate is that either is or is not on a committee or council or something right now, but is looking to run for something. I'd be curious to know his story. Danny, Welcome to the show. Hello Danny, Hey, how you doing today? I appreciate you taking my call. Sure, what's up? Well? You know, on that trade on the tear thing, the thing that trips me out about the whole thing is that, uh, we never talk about to terrors that all these countries are putting on us. For example, Europe is about four to one, you know, trying to thank China is about five to one in trading partners. What does that mean four to one? Five to one? What does that mean. About how much money they get compared to what we get in trading? So you're okay, so you're saying you're talking about a trade deficit. Yes, no trade deficit. So but you realize, like on a trade deficit. I mean like when you go to the grocery store, you run a trade deficit with the grocery store. You're giving them money and they don't give you money. Listen to this. I grew up. I grew up in a town. I retired from the Marine Corps, so I served this country for twenty six years. And the thing is, I'll tell you exactly the town cliff Side, North Carolina. All those meals, and people say, well, you don't want to work for those places. All those jobs are gone. Every one of those jobs are gone, all the wooden and everybody says, well, you know you'll get better jobs. What better jobs if you didn't have a college degree? What better jobs? Walmart? Is that what you're saying? And stuff? So I mean, no, that's not it and stuff. What I'm saying as far as the deficit and stuff. What about Europe? They have no cars in Europe, Germany and places like that that's made from America. How's that power? And I understand that some of those companies came to America, like Japan. Japan's done pretty good as far as like a Nisan and Toyota, because there's not Chevrolet and poured, not even fifty percent of the course. It's only one vehicle, the American vehicle. It's Jeep that's made into top ten. The only other ones what's his name? Everybody hates and stuff, the electric cards and stuff. That is the only one there. It makes me wonder what Americans are thinking. Does it matter, pat your next generation? Are you going to be like you're gonna owe other countries like China? I mean, for example, when there's the next thing that happens, we can't take care of our own country. We got the number one economy in the world. Why don't we set around and ask other countries to take care of us? For saying another example, you know what, you know what Canada pays on their military one four percent? What about what about all the Europeans other than the Eastern Europeans? Like holy, how's well? Okay? Why does America have to take care of the world? Why do we have to say that? And especially says i's in the Marines we risk our lives while they're saying on basis is that okay? So okay, Danny, you've asked. I feel like you're you're asking questions in the form of an argument. But you're not actually making an argument with evidence for me. I understand you've got these questions that you're asking, but you've asked so many of them, I can't address all of them. So would you like to pick one particular question and we can we can examine that, like one specific thing. Why is why does the world not protect him sales? Okaycause America I have to protect them, Okay. So I think this is the leftover from the post World War two order that was set up that guarantee, I mean, and the other countries were in no condition or position to be able to do that at the time, and America filled that void, right, And then of course you've got the Cold War, and so we built up and it was a bipolar arrangement where you have the Soviets and you have America, and you know, we had our friends, they had their friends kind of a deal when the. Soviet let me, can I ask you, okay? Yeah? For example, you crying, this is another topic. Now, no it's not. It's a fine. Let's take take care of our own people. Well you crying, well, but you asked why, okay, all right, go. Ahead, Germany, it's buying buying gas and all from Russia and waited two for a while, and they're actually buying more ole in gas from Russia, okay than they're actually going to help you cry. Okay, So I. Mean, how does that work? How about India? How about you go to go to Indiana? All these other countries. Again, Danny, I'm trying to limit the conversation because we've now gone through five and almost six minutes. You've thrown out I think like probably about twenty percent of the countries on the planet. I'm trying to I'm trying to limit this down, and I don't have time to now address really any of it because you've thrown so much stuff out there. I thought it was about the economy and about the trade and tariff stuff, but then we pivoted over to national security and the global order. And look, Douglas Murray said this, and I think he's exactly right. America needs to determine whether or not, you know, it wants to be the loan superpower or it wants to just remove itself from all foreign entanglements, because you can't do both. Can't do both. You can't say we want to be the most powerful and be everywhere and do all of this stuff. And then, by the way, if you're going to say we want to step away and we don't want to do that, then I would also be curious who do you think fills that vacuum, because somebody will And my bed is it's China. And I bet China would love nothing more than to be the world's policeman. I have no doubt about that whatsoever. But you're not going to like the way that they enforce their set of rules. But I don't know anybody else. I don't trust anybody else any other country on the planet to do what we do. I really don't. But I appreciate the call. Thank you for your service too, Danny. Yeah all right, real quick. I thought this was of note that the Ultimate Pool Championship has now made the Women's Championship for women. So baby steps here people, But I feel like this is a good thing. I'll give you details here if I have time after I talk with Walt. Hello Walt, Hey, I wanted to answer a question for dan. Ford has been building cars in Germany for years, for decades. You know, they have a contract to license with Ford and then they built a type of car that meets the European specifications in Germany. It's it's not as as. Well as what Tyota did. Tyota came here and they set up huge factories and sold all their cars, you know, under the Tyota name. But we actually do build cars in Germany and sell them there. I owned one. It was a Ford Taunus and I was stationed there for three years from seventy nine to eighty two. And I love my little Ford Taunis. It was awesome. So it's the same thing with BMW Right. I mean, that's a quote German car, but it's made in South Carolina. Yeah, right up the road, the road from Gastonia. Yeah. So yeah, And that's the thing when talking about international trade things, it is very very complicated based on all sorts of factors, from you know, the raw material inputs, to the manufacturing locations, to the type of industry. It is the specifications and that, like tariffs, is one part of this much more complex system. Yeah, licensing agreements, you know. Yeah, Yeah, there's there there's a lot of stuff. Yeah, and like yeah, and there's just there's a lot of stuff. And I but I understand and what what Danny was king on initially, which is where I thought we were going to have the conversation. Where it was going to go to was the you know, the the restoration of industry manufacturing in America, because there are a lot of these small towns that were set up around manufacturing facilities that when those facilities went belly up or moved overseas, the towns were decimated. And like, and I understand that I've talked about that very topic a few times, particularly after Trump's tariff announcements, so I thought that's where he was going with it, and like, those scars are real. But this idea that we're going to bring back paper mills and people are going to go and take these line jobs, these factory line jobs that for the most part don't really exist any longer. I mean, and I said this quote or this stat the other day, there are right now, every single month in America half a million manufacturing jobs that are unfilled. So like Americans, these jobs do exist, but a lot of Americans don't want the jobs. You know, last week you were lamenting on the same thing you just said. And I work in a factory. I work in a production facility. It's a half production facility and a half storage facility. And we brought in the big boys from corporate last week and they are scrambling to try to figure out how to get around the tariffs right now. Oh I bet it is a huge corporation. And I'm not prounding myself on the back because I'm just a part time guy. I'm retired, and uh man, they are literally scrambling to try to figure out how to because our company has got fingers in all Canada, Mexico, Europe, all over the place. We get a lot of our stuff from Poland and we bring it here and assimilate and then send it back out to other countries. And so now they're trying to figure out how to get away from all. That stuff, right and yeah, I mean some of the stuff. If you're importing raw material that is not mineable basically in America, like then what do you do? Uh? And and what happens if you start trying to reorganize your entire operation around what you think the tariff structure is and then a week later you get an announcement that says, Okay, the tariffs are now suspended or we're going to do something different with that area or industry or something. This uncertainty is just a killer for for for business planning and future outlook and stuff. So it's a it's a problem. It's a very big problem that he has caused. But but let me make one point to you, and I know this is going to contradict some of your some of the way you're feeling about this and some of your narratives, but we literally cannot keep enough people. We have a we have an open door coming and chill out, an application, go online, whatever, and we can't keep people. We can't keep them. They don't want to work like that anymore, right, And there's there's probably tens of thousands of jobs like that out dur in this country. Oh. I agree, people have gotten spoiled and they don't want. To work for a living. I completely agree. Yeah, No, I completely agree. I don't think that's why I said there are half a million unfilled manufacturing jobs every month. Americans don't want to do a lot of this kind of work. That people think like there's this sort of nostalgia for the good old days. And I don't even think it's about the actual jobs or the factory work itself. I think it is a concept that I can, you know, get out of high school, no college, go to work at some place and then make enough money to afford a house, a car, a family. Like. I think that's the thing that people are are are nostalgic for more so than the actual work of the of the job. Does that make sense, yes, sir. And there's great jobs out there in the manufacturing fields. You can make a living. You can, oh yeah, family, but you've got to be willing to show up on time, on target and right and produce something. It's not sitting at a desk playing on your keyboard. Yeah. You know when Obama said to the popeline workers, well you need to learn how to code. How are you going to take a pipeline welder or something like that and telling him to learn how to code? Come on, man, Yeah, no, I agree, it doesn't work. Yeah, well I appreciate the call. Man. Yeah, I appreciate your call. I got to run. Yeah, thank you. No, it's great insight. And thank you also for your service too to the country. And I said, I laid this out two weeks ago. I said, if this whole radio thing doesn't work out, I've got two or three manufacturers within half a mile of my house. That's where I would be going to go. Get work, because contrary to popular belief, we don't get paid millions of dollars to do this. I could probably make more money going to work on the line. You know, Wait, where are my producers going? Wait, come back, guys, come back. No, I'm kidding, they're still here. Now. It's a matter of do you have a work ethic to do it? And people, I think a lot of people think that they are quote too good to do certain kinds of work, and as well just said they're spoiled. Yeah, it's a work ethic thing, and they're like, I shouldn't have to do that. And part of that is also based on what their parents and grandparents told them, which was go to college, get a degree, so you don't have to do this work that I've been doing. I want better for you. And they believe that this whole issue is way more complex than just you know, we're running a trade deficit with country X, so therefore we need to slap a terif on them. It's way more complex. All right, that'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening. I could not do the show without your support and the support of the businesses that advertise on the podcast.
