All Right, I'm going to get into the Iran war update in a moment. But Ralph has been hanging on about the last topic about Graham Platner, and so I figured I'd give him a shot to shoot it. Ralph, welcome to the show. Well, Pete, you are the show or solutions you may test people out here in the metropolis. Think and if Susan Collins would go and get a tattoo USA have a background on a flag and the eagle, you know, in the middle of it with some fancy Latin word about patriotism, I think on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, it would send ram Plattner's campaign into a spiral. Do you think that would be the deciding factor? An American eagle or flag tattoo, like maybe on her lower back, like right above the waistline, shoulder, oh, on the. Shoulder, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm thinking if she really wants to get ahead of this, I'm thinking she has to do like a Hamas flag. I think that might be the only, like a Palestinian flag, and then show up at all of the debates wearing a cafia. I think that might that might peel away some of his supporters because it's like, I mean, yes, he had a Nazi tattoo, but he covered it up. But she's just gonna go out there rocking, you know, the Palestinian flag, and they're like, hm, I. Hate Jews so much? Do I vote for the guy with the Nazi tattoo or worthy Hamas flag? But the guy with the Nazi tattoo, he covered his up. If she doesn't cover her Palestinian flag up, then they're gonna go for her. I think, well, you. Know that, as the Great Rush Limbball used to say, all these low information voters are washed dragging this country down. I mean when you go out and see reporters on the beaches at the college, you know, spring breaks and stuff, and they can't even tell you the first president of the United States or even any civic matters or relative news events that's happening around them and everything. I mean, I mean, I was young once but I met my dad always watched Walk for Contract. I'm sixty seven and I remember him at the kitchen table with me and my sister be talling. He did say listen, listen. But since then, I always love political science and dug BT rocks. Man, y'all keep buzzing. Well, thanks, Ralph. I will say this in defense of the spring Breakers. Okay, it's kind of a self selected group. You know what I mean. The people that probably are volunteering on political campaigns and taking an interest in civics and such and political science, they're probably not the people that are going to go down and you know, get blackout drunk on the beach for a solid week, you know what. Just I feel like it's a different type of student. Good deal, all right, mother, appreciate it, Ralph, Yes, sir, take care. Good to hear from you. Man. Yeah, So it's you know, I go back and forth on that stuff. And look, we know why they go down to spring Break to interview the kids on the beach, right. We all know why, right, It's so you can interview scantily clad young people, right and put them on the TV screen and have plausible deniability that. Oh no, no, this is just a man on the beach interview. You know, now, come on, you could like you could go anywhere and you know, humiliate and embarrassed kids with those questions because like there's probably oh, look they do that, like what Jay Leno used to do that with the Jaywalking segments. Yeah, we don't. And that's again, that's an indictment on our K twelve education system because they're raising activists, they're training up activists, that's what they're telling kids. Their purpose is, you know, to fight injustice and the oppressors and the oppressors are who we tell you, and that sort of thing. That's the highest order. So it's not really that surprising. So I give the I give this spring Breakers a little bit of grace there. And you know, you don't know how many of them are actually drunk at the time they're being interviewed, right, some of them could be drunk. Greg says, I need to hear you have a conversation, using Graham Plattner's voice, and TJ. Ritchie using Bernie Sanders voice a conversation between Graham Blatner. And Bernie Sanders that would be interesting, Kirk says, in the future, you should read that dude's comments rather than using audio in order to prevent suicides. That's fair. Grumpy Guy says, when is New York go? When is New York City going to have its first beheading in the middle. Of Times Square. I don't know. I kind of feel like it's. A when, not an if, right, And that's what That's what Grumpy Guy says. When Yeah, I don't know. I don't make these kinds of predictions, but you know, if what we're watching over in Europe is any indication, I gotta believe like it's gonna happen sooner. I mean, we have had those types of attacks in America. I remember reading the stories about them covering them on the show over the years, so it has already occurred. I'm not sure about specifically New York City, but that is kind of you know, where this is headed. Seems like, okay, so let's get into the Iran war update here for today. Now. I did not do one yesterday, so I actually have yesterday's stuff as well. So I will start with sort of the news that led up to what's happening today. So, yesterday we had two crew members from an Apache US Army Apache helicopter. Who were rescued. They were pulled from the waters off of the coast of Oman, which is right across the Strait of Horror moves from Iran, Okay, so that's the other shoreline, and so. They were over there, they were in the water. Both are in stable condition after a joint rescue involving nabsent, the eighty second Airborne and Task Force fifty nine. A US Navy unmanned surface vessel assigned to Task Force fifty nine, carried out the rescue of crew members of the down Depache, recovering both soldiers safely within two hours. Reuters reported. The incident is believed to mark the first time that a USV has rescued military personnel. What is a USV, Well it is or an autonomous or an ASV. I guess this is from gcaptain dot com. The US Navy operated Autonomous surface vessel an ASV, built by a company called Saronic, rescued the two aviators from the water marking what appears to be the first publicly reported person personnel recovery conducted by an unmanned surface vessel. So that's the us V Unmanned Surface Vessel or USV. Two crew members were rescued within approximately two hours and were reported to be in stable condition, which, like, it's pretty amazing that these that these aviators were. Able to get onto that boat. I mean, that's a testament to them because sitting in the water for two hours, treading water for two hours, like like you're getting to the point of exhaustion, you know, and to then like lift yourself onto this unmanned vessel. Reuters cited Sentcom's spokesperson, Navy Captain Tim Hawkins, reported that a Saronic Coursair autonomous surface vessel was dispatched to recover the pilots from the water, basically a drone boat or a drought if you will. The drone picked them up and transported them to another location on the water, where they were hoisted up to a helic opter for further transport. While details of the recovery operation remained limited, the mission represents a significant operational milestone for both Task Force fifty nine and Seronic, The company one of the fastest growing companies in the maritime autonomy sector. The purported vessel involved in the rescue was the Corsair, a twenty four foot autonomous surface vessel designed for maritime security, surveillance, force protection, and logistics missions. The diesel powered platform is capable of carrying payloads of up to one thousand pounds and operating over distances exceeding one thousand nautical miles without any crew on board. Corsair combines radar cameras, satellite communications, onboard computing, and autonomous navigation software that allows the vessel to operate independently while maintaining awareness of surrounding traffic and hazards. The vessel can operate under remote supervision or autonomously for extended periods of time. Pretty impressive stuff. Data centers are bad. AI's gonna kill everybody. Okay. You know. US Central Command says forces began launching self defense strikes against Iran at the Commander in Chief's direction in response to yesterday's downing of a US Army Apache helicopter. The mission is a proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression. Okay, I will say this, I don't want a proportional response. I don't. I think proportional responses are for losers like you did. If you. Shoot down an Army Apache helicopter over the Straight of Hormones, then I want the full fury of the US military to wipe out all of your leadership. To me, that's a proportional response, right, because if you do this thing where it's like, what did Trump call them love taps? Right? If you oh, okay, well you. Shot down one of our helicopters, so we'll just, you know, shoot one of your boats. Okay, Well, then they're going to know that, they're going to learn that, they're going to know. Okay, well, proportional response. So we can do one thing, disrupt traffic in the Strait, which, by the way, news came out yesterday more than a thousand vessels have transited the Straight of Hormones. I believe Brent crude is trading somewhere around eighty dollars a barrel. Right, how did that happen? Why is that happening? Because the vessels are flipping off their geolocation devices and such, they're going dark. They're basically doing what the Iranian shadow fleet has been doing. So now these these boats, these ships, they've been doing that too, and they've been escorted through and then they do ship to ship transfers of the oil. That's how it's getting out. So no, I don't want to see a proportional response, President Trump said, regarding the Islamic regime, quote, if people are stupid, we'll end up in something where we have to wipe out an entire infrastructure of a nation. Yeah. Yes, not all of the roads and stuff like that, but some key, dual use, dual purpose installations mm hm. Trey yinst at Fox says the US and Iran traded strikes overnight twenty Iranian targets were hit by US forces, including air to systems and radar sites. And I heard somebody ask uh. I think it was a caller to Vince Coakley show, who said, why are there any radar sites left? Which is a very good question, like take them all out, just keep hammering them. Iran responded with missiles and drones towards Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. Trump says he is nearing a decision on launching additional strikes against Iranian power, infrastructure and bridges. So again with that threat. And remember, for people who have a difficult time, you know, hearing anything Donald Trump says and understanding, just keep in mind, not everything Trump says is for us. A lot of the stuff that Trump says is for Iran is for them to hear. And like he's just saying all of these things, and it creates this sort of, you know, ma Man approach to the negotiation, which the Iranians they engage in a very similar kind of tactic. They say all of this stuff and then meanwhile they're negotiating on some other stuff. Trump said today that Iran had taken too long to negotiate a deal that would have been great for them, and now they will have to pay the price, posting on truth social He added that Iran's military had been defeated, saying Iran's military is a complete and total mess. Much of it, like their navy and air force, doesn't even exist anymore. They have been completely defeated. Iran is all talk and no action. The bully of the Middle East is dead. Again. Is that for a domestic audience or for the Iranian leadership to hear? I also saw a very interesting interview over the weekend New York Times reporter from Tel Aviv who was talking about the story. Remember, a couple of weeks ago, I think it was a couple of weeks ago, there was a story that came out that Mahmoud Ahmedinajad, the former president of Iran, that he was supposed to be the guy that was going to, you know, be the new leader for Iran that we could work with, and everybody was like, Ahmedanijod, what are you crazy. Well, apparently there was this plan in place that like was developed by the Israelis where Massad has been on the ground in Iran, sort of prepping the space the Kurds were supposed to roll in, the protesters were supposed to rise up, the IRGC was supposed to be all of the leadership you know, taken out in the first day or two of strikes, and then Ahmedanijod was supposed to step into that role and that did not happen, which may explain the quote ceasefire, was that they had this plan and then the plan you know, went to poop because Akhmedenijad apparently got cold feet and fled, so I don't know. And then the Kurds were restrained by Trump, and that was based off of the wishes of like turkeya Turkey and some of the other Gulf nations and so whatever like that may explain this. I don't know this to be true. By the way, again, it's the New York Times telling us this, so take it for what it's worth. But it's an interesting theory. If they had a plan in place, the plan went sideways and then they were like, Okay, let's pause, then let's do this ceasefire, and let's see if we can negotiate. Just throwing it out there, just letting you know, let's head over to the text line. Paul says, Pete, I could not agree with you more. We need to thoroughly unleash everything we have got between our team of military fighters and Disraeli Defense Force and wipe all of wipe all of these rules completely out and eliminate the threat. Enough is enough, Danny says. Could this once again be Trump's negotiating savvy. Could it be that he is stringing along the decision to command and outright full scale bombing of Iran until the majority of both sides of the American spectrum is calling for it. Then he could say I gave everybody what they wanted. This was what I guess it was Monday or Tuesday. I guess it would have been Tuesday. This was the thing. I read a piece. By Iman Dean, Amen Dean, who. He was like trying to figure this out, because he was you know, you've got a contingent on the left that's going to oppose Trump on anything. Right. The Democrats are not going to sign on to any of this. They're going to criticize all of it. Okay, so just take them off the board because their opinions are not relevant because they only are acting in one mode. Right. For the most part, you've got some like Fetterman, right, like the sanest, most clear thinking Democrat in the US Senate who had a brain aneurysm, right, so or a stroke, sorry, he had a stroke. So for the most part, they're sort of out of the discussion because you're not adding anything to to get us to a resolution. Right. So, now that leaves the Republicans and the Conservatives, and to a much much much lesser extent, some libertarians, and inside that camp, you've got the people who are like supportive of the strikes, and you have another camp that was opposed to it. We would promised no endless wars, Right, guys, We've been in a war with Iran for my entire life. Just because you don't want to acknowledge that does not make that untrue. Okay. So you've got Iran racing towards the nuke. You've got them building up their missiles and drones in order to give them a shield of protection so they can get their nuke. And once they get their nuke, then they can behave exactly as we have seen them behave over the last three months, except now they would be a nuclear power, and they would control twenty percent of the global oil supply and they could disrupt all of these shipping lanes and wreak havoc on the world economy. So like that, those were your options. And I'm a resident of realvill here and I recognize that like Iran's regime cannot be. Allowed to do that. So they was a This was an issue that needed to be addressed at some point, and the longer you let it go, the worse it's going to be to address it. That's my view on it. Inside that camp then you have developed over the last well, however long this quote unquote ceasefire has been going on, and the negotiations, we can make a deal in all of this, then you got people who are growing frustrated because we know the Iranians do not deal in good faith. They are waiting out Trump. That's the strategy, to wait as long as possible for the Democrats to win in November, so the Democrats can then impeach Trump and they can block all of his military actions that they can try to right, that's. The Iranian strategy. You can draw your own conclusions here as to whether or not you would want your strategy to align with the Iranian mullis. That's up to you. Okay, I know how I feel about that. If that were my policy, if I were like, you know what, I think Iran's got a pretty good strategy here I'm going to do. I'm a solid you know, I might rethink that if that were made. I don't think that way, so I don't have. To rethink it. But that's what the Iranians are waiting for. They're waiting for public opinion and a Democrat victory to do for them what their military cannot right. So by waiting, and this is what I'm in Dean was pointing out the other day, was that by waiting doing this ceasefire and getting people like the ones who are like, I'm opposed to this, we shouldn't do it. And Trump is like, all right, fine, I'm negotiating, negotiating, negotiate deal. Here deal there no deal, no deal. Right. You get to a point where now people have grown even more frustrated in that camp too, and they're like, my god, just what are we waiting for? Just finish it off? Is that intentional? I don't know, I don't know. It could be, it might not be. Pete says, great name Pete. By the way, Pete. A long time ago, I think Spires and Krantz used to call that guy mahmoud, I'm gonna need a dinner jacket. Yes, that was Spires and Krantz machmoud, I'm a dinner jacket. This is from Jeff with the g Pete. I finally figured out who Graham Platner's voice reminds me of. It's Edgar the bug guy from Men in Black. I have heard that before. Was it Vince sent Inofrio? I think is his name, the actor's name. Yeah, he was like the big cockroach or whatever in the skin suit, Richard says. Democrat Raskin is in the news complaining about rising costs for consumers in the NFL. Aren't they a monopoly corporation? Okay, I'm talking about there anymore. Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abu Gate condemned what he called Iran's brutal missile and drone attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan. Abu Great said the attack showed Iran was seeking to escalate its confrontation with Arab states, raising concerns among Arab governments while putting pressure on the international community. The Arab League said it stood in full solidarity with Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan and called for efforts to reach an agreement that would end the crisis. Okay, you guys are going to have to do your business or get off the pot. Right, you guys, you're at the fork in the road, and you've been standing there looking down each pathway, scratching your head for several weeks now, no probably months, actually probably years, and you guys need to make a call. Right. This is a time for choosing, not just for Americans. But for you guys in the Gulf Cooperation Council states, And by the way, why is Iran going after these other countries right? Why aren't they directly engaging with Israel? For example? Why aren't they directly engaging with American warships? They're testing where the guardrails are? What will we do in response? And fear they are afraid. They do not want to directly engage with US militarily because they know what that will look like for them and it's not good. So that's why they do what they do, and these other countries are going to have to step up and provide some offensive capabilities. Iran International reporting just minutes ago that Iranian and US officials held parallel talks with Katari mediators in Doha over the past two days. So, in other words, like Iran is talking to the Qataris, America is talking to the Guitaris separately, so like they're in two different rooms, Like I'm not going across the hall to talk to them. The Qataris tried to arrange a trilateral meeting for direct negotiations on the remaining gaps in the framework of a deal of a potential of an agreement of a memorandum of understanding whatever, but Iran refused. So Iran does not want to have direct negotiations with America. Meanwhile, let me scroll back up here because the uh to the oh, we got explosions in Tehran two minutes ago. Mm hmm hmmmm. An Israeli airstrike hit the town of Zalayah in Lebanon's Bika Valley. Local reports say here it is. US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, posted on to the Twitter machine that things could soon get quote spicy in the neighborhood soon as he shared a Fox News article quoting President Donald Trump is saying the United States would strike Iran very hard. Trump said that today. Meanwhile, Iran International reports that the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister spoke with Jazeira and said a US Apache helicopter that went down over the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday was not deliberately targeted by Iran. Kassem Gharabababari Bri said such events could happen unintentionally because of the tense military situation in the areas. I see, I like these things happen. Quote. Iran was not behind the attack. Such incidents may occur unintentionally because of the tense atmosphere in the Street of Hormuz. There was no deliberate targeting by Iran of the US helicopter. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragashi warned foreign forces near Iran's territory to leave the region. He said, the Strait of Hormuz was not international waters. So this is the thing. They're claiming ownership over international waters. And if you allow that to occur, then every nation can do the same all around the globe. Choke points. I keep coming back to this, I keep mentioning it. I've been doing so for months now, since February twenty eighth. Choke points, global choke points through these straits. They are all over the globe. If you don't allow the free transport of merchant vessels without the risk of being blown up, like, that's how wars start. See well right now in I run. The foreign minister says, our powerful armed forces are on constant alert for any violation of Iran's airspace, land or waters. Foreign forces in proximity to our territory are at constant risk on account of their own human errors, plane accidents or potential potentially being caught in crossfire. To reduce risk, the best solution is for them to leave. We prefer language of diplomacy, but speak other languages too. Would that be just like getting assassinated? Is that the other getting all of your getting all of your like missile production facilities blown up? Is that the language you're talking about? Iran's parliament speaker Mohammed Bachaer Gallibath said Iran preferred diplomacy, but said it could turn to a more forceful response if commitments are broken. Quote, we prefer the language of diplomacy, but we speak other languages far more fluently. Oh, like terrorism. Is that the language you're talking about? He said, Break your commitments and we'll switch to what we speak best. You ride the horse, you saddled? See what I mean? Like? Do you get the sense they're not interested in talks yet? Like, at some point, believe them when they are saying these things. And they may be lying. This may be for show, it may be performative, it may be for their domestic audience or whatever. But I don't care. It doesn't matter anymore to me if you're lying about this stuff, because you keep flinging missiles and drones into your neighboring countries. You just hit Israel the other day. You're trying to tie Hesbala and the actions Israel's taking against Hesbala in Lebanon, which the Lebanese governments like, please help us root out Hesbola, like want you want your ceasefire to attach to Hesbala, And they've made that very clear. And what they've also made clear is that they are a revolutionary ideology for exportation. It's not a government. It seems like some people don't realize this yet. All right, that'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening. I could not do the show without your support and the support of the businesses that advertise on the podcast, so if you'd like, please support them too and tell them you heard it here.
