Inspiring immigrant story or fraudster? | Hour 1

This episode is presented by Create A Video – The search warrants executed at the home of US Rep. Ilhan Omr (D-MN) this week has propelled the story into the "mainstream" of reporting. The questions surrounding Omar's apparent fraudulent naturalization and finances has largely been ignored for years outside of conservative media. Time (and the investigation) will tell if there is evidence that could result in her being removed from office and deported.

Some say, And whenever reporters say some say it means I say, but I can't say that. So I say some say to inoculate myself from criticism that I'm injecting my opinion. But some say it is as a tale as old as time. Is it an inspiring regs to riches immigrant story? Or is it fraud? Yeah, these are the competing narratives, apparently. Um, I've been watching the story and I've been stacking up the stories in my prep pile here for the last few days, but I haven't gotten to it. But today that all changes. We are getting to it, the Ilhan Omar story. And so the competing narratives that we've got, we have storyline number one, according to the Twitter user Cynical Publius, who says, number one, we have an inspiring immigrant woman who escaped from poverty, genocide, and communist rule in the poorest nation on earth, and then made her own way in the United States and rose to national prominence as a congresswoman. However, because she is a vocal supporter for social justice, an evil Republican president slash fascist dictator, has targeted her for abusive prosecution on trumped-up non-existent charges, and now she stands for all oppressed Americans everywhere as she fights the power. So that's the first storyline. The second storyline is a little bit different. You have the same woman. the wealthy, privileged daughter of a genocidal communist Somali army colonel who had been trained in the Soviet Union and then fled to America with her father so the two could escape torture, imprisonment, and execution after the father's genocidal communist regime leader was overthrown. Upon arrival in America, the father and the daughter both committed immigration fraud and and illegally obtained U.S. citizenship, or maybe never obtained it at all. It's still a little unclear there. The daughter then rose to prominence with the backing of George Soros and his massive network of NGOs and PACs. She was then elected to Congress, maybe, maybe not, controlled by Soros and other neo-Marxist groups who may well have held her illegal alien status over her head to manipulate her, maybe, while she maintained close contact with organized crime lords inside Minnesota's Somali community. So as you can tell, the storylines are, they're a little different, right? There's a little bit of nuance there as to what the reality may be. Now, of course, there are elements of both of these storylines that could be true. and could not be true. It could be a mixture, right? It could be a hybrid of both of the storylines. But I think cynical publius is correct. I think those are the general outlines of the competing narratives that we are being treated to. So what I like to do, and I know I'm kind of old school in this regard, and I know sometimes it angers people because I don't immediately, you know, rush out with a hot take that then I have to apologize for or walk back or, you know, go to my death defending because I don't want to admit I was wrong or something. So I tend to do something. It's a little old-fashioned, but I want to see evidence before I make up my mind. I would like to know what investigators are able to prove, like what are the pieces of evidence that they would use to kind of mount a case. And then I can decide what may be more true than not. And only after we get the presentation of facts, we get the ability to go through a court process to find out actual guilt through evidence. the rules of evidence, the standard of evidence that has been developed in the Western society for hundreds of years, then we would know for sure or as close as for sure as we could be as to her guilt or innocence. And we and we don't know that at this point. OK, so I don't know. No. To quote Candace Owens, who admittedly has a very much lower standard of evidence when she presents a case. So we don't know. No. But we know, to quote Candace, we we have enough smoke. There's been enough smoke. See this story for people who are in the legacy, quote unquote, mainstream media who who have not followed the story or maybe they are completely unaware of this story. Just a heads up, the folks in conservative media and people who read conservative outlets, we've been aware of this for years. This story has been out there for years and every now and again we would get another little nugget that would lend more credibility to the idea that the storyline number two is in fact closer to the truth. And. Now it has obviously broken containment. And before I hear anybody crying that, oh, this must this must be, you know, weaponization by the Trump administration against Ilhan Omar because she's a critic and all of this. The the warrants were signed off on by a Democrat judge in Minnesota. OK, so a Democrat judge saw enough evidence to issue the warrants. And the initial investigation began under the prior administration. OK, so this evidence is out there. And as Ilhan Omar has said herself, no one is above the law. I mean, she was talking about Orange Man Hitler, but the standards should apply. Right. I think we should all be able to agree that nobody is above the law. And so if that is the standard that I mean, it's a standard that I share. that I support, and she does too, so if nobody's above the law, then this is what that looks like in practice, is that they have gone into her home, they've subpoenaed a bunch of people, and they're doing an investigation into her for what? We're not really sure at this point, but it appears there are two different areas, let's say. There are two avenues that are being pursued or could be pursued because we have no confirmation which one is being pursued. One is immigration fraud and the other is some sort of financial fraud. And we don't know, no, no, we don't know which one or both maybe are being investigated because the authorities are not saying. Okay, so what happened earlier this week, the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security executed search warrants on Ilhan Omar's residence. They also served grand jury subpoenas on her sister and another unnamed family member, according to the New York Times, which indicates some preparation for prosecution. Ed Morrissey at HotAir.com quoting from the New York Times. So this is New York Times reporting. Evidence of fraud and false statements in immigration paperwork could be at the at the source of this, according to people familiar with the matter and standard disclaimer there. I have no idea what that means. Whenever I see these people familiar with the matter, I don't know what that means, because that could mean somebody who just heard it, you know, third hand, fourth hand, twelfth hand, whatever. And they're just, quote, familiar with it. But you can't verify anything they're saying. A sister of Ilhan Omar named Sarah Noor received a subpoena, as did at least one other member of her family circle, according to people familiar with the investigation. I don't know the other member of that family circle, who it might be. It can't be her father. Her father is dead. Could be her husband, or it could be her husband. Or brother. Or husband. Brother. Brother. Husband. See, I'm not really sure, because... That's been in doubt for quite some time. All right, we'll get into some of the details here. Homeland Security investigation appears to have centered on the timing and the claims of Ilhan Omar's father, a fella by the name of Nur Omar Mohammed. And these claims were made at the time of his entry into America. The specifics of the investigation into Ms. Omar remain unclear, but in recent months, federal investigators have have been scrutinizing her family's immigration history. And by the way, just hat tip to the Washington Free Beacon because they have been investigating these irregularities for years, okay? The inquiry focuses in part on whether Ms. Omar's late father, Nur Omar Mohammed, lied or omitted information in immigration forms before becoming a U S citizen. If he did. Okay. So like if he became a citizen, so here's, here's part of the deal. Um, if you were part of a genocide, um, if you were like a leader in the military, in a regime that was murdering thousands of people, generally speaking, America would not let you in. Okay. Like just in general, genocidal military commanders, we kind of frown upon that. And so we probably would not have allowed him in. There are actually two issues involving Ilan's daddy. Both of them are dangerous to Omar's status as a naturalized American and a member of Congress. First off, it appears that her father lied about Omar's age. And why would he do that? Well, he wanted to qualify her for naturalization. That naturalization process cannot start until somebody turns 18. So, allegedly, Omar was 17 at the time of naturalization, which would invalidate that status and disqualify her from Congress. I'll get into that more in a bit. So, If this seems like a technicality, though, then you have to factor in the second issue. You see, the U.S. granted Noor, her daddy, the U.S. gave him asylum in 1995. And he told us when he was coming in that he was a teacher and he was displaced by the civil war in Somalia. And I remember this. I was growing up. I remember they were all all sorts of horrific videos and images and news reports about the travesty going on in Somalia. And it has really never, it has never been corrected. I mean, it's a failed state, okay? And they were starving to death and like we were like trying to send aid and stuff over there. It turns out though that Daddy Noor, may have actually been a colonel in the regime forces who are accused of committing atrocities in that war. And that would immediately invalidate all legal status within the United States. From the New York Post now, quote, he was really a prominent military commander in the Somalia dictatorship that killed as many as 200,000 people. He was a full colonel in Siad Barre's military regime. According to historian and Oxford University doctoral researcher, Mohamed Haji Inghiriris, I think is how he pronounces that, Ilhan's father was never an educator, says this historian. Noor, Daddy Noor, was born in the Somali coastal town of Bandar Bayalaya, in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland. He joined Somalia's military in the late 60s with conflicting reports suggesting that he trained, maybe, in the Soviet Union or in Egypt. Not really sure. He allegedly played a key role in Siad Barre's army after the bloodthirsty dictator seized power in a Soviet-backed coup in 1969. So he was a communist. And I am as shocked as you are to learn this, that anybody in Ilhan Omar's family tree would be a Marxist. That is so off-brand. The New York Post explains that U.S. immigration law strictly forbids granting refugee status to to any person who ordered, incited, assisted, or otherwise participated in the persecution of any person on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or political opinion. Daddy Noor is said to have led multiple military brigades, became a regiment commander in the regime, and played a, quote, significant role in the Somali-Ethiopian War between July 1977 and March of 1978. That according to former army officer Yusuf Ismail Farhatan, who served with him and also moved to Minneapolis. See, so there's more than a, this is what you would call evidence, right? So this is the presentation of evidence that people are pointing out like, hey, this guy is probably and was probably not eligible. And this creates problems. for Ilhan Omar. All right, real quick. Every government number gets revised, right? Every projection gets walked back. Gold does not file corrections like GovCo. Revelation Gold Group helps families hold physical gold and silver, including in a tax-advantaged gold IRA. It's real. It's in your name. And 10 minutes. tells you if your retirement account qualifies. If you want to learn more, go to calendarmetals.com. That's calendarmetals.com. There is a link in the podcast description. Or if you want to talk to somebody, you can call 888-465-3049. All right, so if these accusations against Daddy Noor are true, then none of his family should have been eligible for asylum. That's the problem for Ilhan Omar. If daddy was a genocidal colonel in the genocidal communist regime in Somalia, then he never should have been allowed into the country. He never should have been granted asylum, and his whole family would not be granted asylum. Their current statuses would be revoked under those conditions, as has happened to former Nazis who hid their connections in when they entered the United States in previous decades. This kind of expulsion, though, is administrative. It's not criminal. So that actually does not explain grand jury testimony, which has apparently been delivered, right? Those are criminal charges. So that would not be the asylum stuff with Daddy Noor. That's That's all administrative. So what's the deal with the grand jury? Why would the DOJ issue grand jury subpoenas? That may well be a completely different investigation at the DOJ. And just spitball in here, but maybe it's got something to do with some really weird financial disclosures that Ilhan Omar made, according to Fox News. Quote, financial disclosures, which previously showed that the reported value of businesses tied to her husband not the brother, but the husband, the actual husband, not the brother, husband, the husband. That guy's name is Tim Minette. Okay. And so the reported value of businesses tied to Tim Minette had surged from 51,000 in 2023, and then he had a really good year the next year in 2024, apparently, because he went from $ 51, 000 to $ 30 million the next year. I'm not sure. Maybe he cured cancer or something. I don't know what you do to take a business from $ 50K to $ 30 million in one year. I mean, I've watched a lot of Shark Tank, to be sure. But I've never heard of such a success story as that. So maybe that's what it has something to do with. Not sure. Now, I mentioned also Ilhan Omar's age. OK, because Daddy Noor said that she was 18, I believe, when she came in. And yeah, and that may pose a problem if. According to like her father lied about her age to qualify her for naturalization because that process starts at age 18. OK, if she was 17, then that would invalidate that status. All right. So when she entered Congress back in 2018, her staff apparently helped her get her birth date switched. Totally normal thing to do, obviously. We all do it a couple of times in our lives, I'm sure. they switched it from 1981 to 1982, which would indicate that they switched it back. They did this in public records, a move that has raised questions about whether she misrepresented her age to secure citizenship. Omar has claimed that she became a naturalized citizen in 2000 through her father, At the age of 17, however, if she was 18 at the time, she would not have been able to get citizenship through that pathway. While Omar served in the state house and for several months into her congressional term, her birth date had been listed in the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library, in addition to reference sites like Wikipedia and other news outlets like the BBC, as October 4th, 1981. But in May of 2019, her birthday was changed. It was moved forward by one year after a video by a political opponent went viral in which he claimed she was lying about her age. This seemingly minor issue could have a major impact on her claims to U.S. citizenship. Omar has long maintained that she got derivative citizenship through her daddy and became a citizen in 2000. Naturalized. She claimed in 2018 that she became a citizen in Before the age of 18, through her father, Omar lived in refugee camps under the Somali government, in which her father was a high-ranking official, and the government collapsed amid civil war, and then she immigrated to the United States. Now, I know what you're thinking. Oh, but Pete, that's just those dastardly Republicans attacking poor Democrat Ilhan Omar, uh, probably because of racism and sexism and misogyny and Islamophobia, right? These are the reasons why she was attacked for this age discrepancy thing. So we look at who was making these claims at the time. This was way, way back in 2022. Okay, so four years ago. And there was a fellow by the name of A.J. Kern. A.J. Kern was running against Ilhan Omar in the 2022 Democrat primary. Oh, so this was a Democrat in Minnesota. Oh, darn it. OK, so for derivative citizenship, two things have to be true. One, her father had to naturalize. And two, she still had to be a minor. And what I have found is that it's highly unlikely neither of those things are true, he said. video went viral. See, as I said, this information has been out there for a while. Let me jump over to the text line here. And Alan says, factor this in. If her father has no record of ever being naturalized, then her derived citizenship is non-existent and there would be no need to denaturalize her. She would be no more than any other illegal alien. The level of scam she pulled off, if that is the case, would be monumental. and should be a setback for the left's aspiration of open borders if they can't even keep an illegal alien out of Congress. Well, they do have, the left does have, they do have a response to this. You'll never guess what it is. Eliminate Homeland Security. That's the problem, see. This is David, I guess, just curious why you don't do a show on the Trump crime family. No matter how corrupt someone is, they are nowhere near as corrupt as Trump and his family. But I get it's all about ratings and you have a large amount of Trump cult members listening. Well, David, if you're any indication, I've got a solid left wing following, too. You guys listen and text more than more than the MAGA folks do. So I actually have covered when when the government has raided Mar-a-Lago and they put Trump on trial. Like I did cover those things because, see, again, like I follow certain standards. So like news reporting may be one thing. But when you're just citing people that are, quote, familiar with the situation and there is actually no government action taking place, there's no charges, there's no subpoenas. there's no warrants to search a home or anything like that, then that's of minimal value to me. It's just based on sources, unnamed sources. So I wait for actual government action through the courts. And then we cover it, which I have. I've covered Trump's court actions as well. So I'm not sure you made the point you thought you were trying to make there, but okay. Let me jump back over to the text line. Gabby says, I hope that the FBI left Ilhan Omar's lingerie drawer in disarray when they raided her home. Yes, how quickly we forget, don't we lefties? How quickly we forget. You guys were all totally fine with this kind of action, but no one is above the law, right? No one's above the law. I don't understand this idea that people have when they, I guess it's because they fall in love with their not just their politicians, but they fall in love with their political party, right? And there's this, you know, close ranks mentality around anybody on our team. And so we can't possibly entertain the notion that somebody might have violated the law just because they're on our team, because we're the good ones. Nobody ever would do anything on our side. Well, and that's just statistically untrue, right? It's, that's just not true. There are going to be people who in both political parties that behave badly, that violate the law. And so when you have enough evidence to go to a court to get a Democrat judge to sign off on a warrant to then go searching a Democrat congressperson's home, like that should give you all pause on the left. That should give you pause that maybe there's something here. I know it gave me pause when it was done against Donald Trump. And then, of course, we start seeing you know, the evidence and the whole thing starts falling apart. And it's like, OK, so this was weaponization, right? So, OK, if you're going to take the stand that no Democrat could ever be guilty of violating any laws whatsoever, but the Republicans, a simple allegation against the Republican means it's true. OK, well, now you're not you're not approaching politics or any of these discussions in good faith. You're just not. To wit, here is Kevin, the fake Republican. He claimed to be a Republican. That's why I call him the fake Republican, is because he claimed to be a Republican, but he never texts anything other than left-wing talking points. So here you go. Here's another one. And he keeps calling me Peter as if it's an insult, but that's my name, so I'm not really sure why he does that. I mean, I go by Pete, but he prefers to call me Peter, and I assume that's some sort of a slur or a put-down or something. But this is what I mean by not approaching people in good faith. um so kevin the fake republican says i can't wait for democrats to start digging through elon musk's and melania's immigration paperwork um okay if you think that's what this is about those are administrative tasks and by the way if you think that no one has already done that against those two i think you're probably kidding yourself there's ample uh well i would say it's more likely than not There are people inside the gears of government who have already started perusing this stuff. Now, maybe they have found stuff and they just can't do anything with it. But yeah, if you want to try to deport a trillionaire who just made a car fly, that's cool. You go ahead and knock yourself out. But note, like you're only interested in doing this because of their politics. Right. Like this. So this is just vengeance for you. Because the facts don't matter to Kevin, who claimed to be a Republican but is obviously not. The facts don't matter. I just gave you the rundown on the evidence that has so far been reported on. And obviously there's something that's enough to get warrants from a Democrat judge. But Kevin doesn't care. Kevin just looks forward to doing once again what the Biden administration did. In fact, yesterday I went over several examples of the weaponization of the government against conservatives. See, so Kevin is fine with that. Kevin's totally fine with the targeting of the Tea Party groups. He was fine with the targeting of conservatives for selling MAGA hats and such. I've got another story in the stack here of Jack Smith getting subpoenas for somewhere in the neighborhood of 640,000 Republican voters and donors because they're Republicans. Like, what were you doing with that list? What were you going to do with this list of people who donated $ 5 to the Trump campaign? What was your intention with that? Why are you doing that? Could you imagine if Trump compiled a list of all Democrat donors inside the DOJ for some reason, right? Trump governs like a reality show, no script, no consequences, and the GOP just applauds. No wonder they'll probably lose Senate seats. No, it's because just the dynamics of the the timing of the election cycle and such. And we're still stuck with the Iran mess. But hey, at least the chaos is consistent. LOL. Yeah, this is what people wanted. They voted for a chaos candidate to shake things up and to disrupt the norms. This is what people voted for. A majority of the American electorate voted for this guy. And they knew what they were voting for. So, I mean, he'd been on the stage for, you know, six years at that point. Um, or no, eight years. Sorry. Um, JC says, Ilan should know this is what you call karma for calling Americans stupid. I don't know. I don't believe in karma. Uh, if Jack Smith is still on the payroll of the DOJ, maybe we should investigate AOC and the squad. Wiretap them all, says Ralph. Now, uh, I don't believe he's still, is he still, I don't think he's still on the payroll. Um, David wants to know whether Ilhan Omar's husband– oh, he may have been running a leering center. That's true. In Minnesota, maybe that explains the massive increase in the valuation of his business from $ 50, 000 in one year to $ 30 million in the next year. Uh, Mike from Maryland says if Ilhan Omar ineligible to hold public office or if she's broken any Lord laws, I would hope she's found guilty. However, I hold very little hope any of this will happen. I think Democrat privilege will eventually prevail. And then after the elections, we won't hear anything about it ever again. Yep. I mean, you can make that prediction and, uh, wallow in your doomerism. That's true. You could do that. Uh, but you don't know, you don't know how it's going to shake out. You don't even know the evidence. I don't know the evidence. So we shall see. Um, What is this? Monica says, I get... Oh, that's from... Oh, the cope. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's just serious amounts of copium being inhaled here. This is from Mitch. But Pete, the law that might have been violated is an immigration law, and those aren't really laws. Yeah. 864 number. Does anybody really believe Ilhan Omar will actually feel handcuffs on her wrist? Again, like, I don't know. Look, if you want to fast forward to a point in the future that you cannot see and make assumptions about how it all shakes out, you are free to do so. But you don't know. All you're going to do is be like, nothing's going to change. Nothing matters. Like, okay. You know what value that has for me? Zero. That has zero value because I don't know. You don't know. None of us knows. So we'll see. Pete, if one consistent thing with Kevin, the fake Republican, is his delusion. Yeah, that that does seem pretty consistent. All right. That'll do it for this episode.
