[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday morning
[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson
[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Did an interview with
[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: the morning guy up in Raleigh and Greensboro
[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_00]: He is on his name is KC ODea and I've known KC for years. He does it's a simultaneous radio program and
[00:00:50] [SPEAKER_00]: carried in both markets and
[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_00]: You know he covers news and politics and that sort of stuff
[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And he got Mark Robinson on the show yesterday
[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_00]: And he had him on for like 15 minutes
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So I went and
[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_00]: got the audio listen to it
[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_00]: For the first time actually last night and
[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_00]: pulled a couple of sound bites
[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_00]: so this is the first time I think that he has
[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Explained some of this stuff and where we are and what is thinking is on
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_00]: All of this scandal that has you know erupted all around him and these
[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Social or the sorry the comments rather these posts that he you know that are allegedly
[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_00]: His from 10 15 20 years ago whatever on some porn website and like his email address is connected to like that
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Ashley Madison cheaters website and some other like adult friend finder websites and stuff
[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_00]: People are doing because now and I have I have reached out and I have asked for
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_00]: What the email address is so I can actually confirm for myself
[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Because what happened what has happened is over the years some of these websites get hit by hackers and then they dump all of the
[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_00]: User names or passwords or both or whatever and you get eaten and so there there are
[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_00]: publicly available
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_00]: files and you can search there's there's a website
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a website you can search for somebody's email address and find out if they were registered to
[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Some of these sites after they got hacked and
[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_00]: That's apparently what like the southern poverty law center
[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Did one of their researchers did with regards to Mark Robinson
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know who else they they they check, but
[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Once you get that email address now you're able to cross check into these various data breach databases and
[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_00]: So there've been a bunch of them. I have asked I've not gotten the email so I don't know because again
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm trying to confirm what the reporting is because I don't trust the people and the news outlets that are telling me the stories
[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_00]: About Mark Robinson
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's listen to Mark Robinson's
[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_00]: perspective on
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_00]: What has been occurring again? This is on the KCO day radio show yesterday morning up in Raleigh and Greensboro on WPTI and WTKK
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_02]: So my tip on this thing was to fight it all the way because it's not true
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I was totally blown away when it was dropped all me and then I bought to me and
[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_02]: You know quite frankly Casey I had no idea how somebody could do this
[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_02]: This is a very it seems to be a very nefarious plot
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_02]: You know this has been going on since I came on public scene in
[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_02]: 2018 folks have bought things up that I've sent on Facebook
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_02]: They bought things up that I've sent in speeches and if you notice every time they bought these things up
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_02]: We took them head-on and we took it we took account for what we said and explain why we say
[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: And stood by our words largely don't if few things that we kind of backed off all the few things that we said
[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_02]: We said we could have said better
[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_02]: But by large we have been completely transparent if anything that we've done
[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_02]: They got now now to the
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_02]: 12 hour down the last few minutes of this campaign and they're trying to say that I'm 14 points down
[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_02]: They notice I'm not down
[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_02]: They need something to try to number one this March mean number two divide this party and number three make people
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_02]: Serial so that they'll run away from me, and that's why they created this thing
[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_02]: So before we went into a case and I'm glad that I finally had someone who stepped up in this state
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_02]: Who came to me and offered you the right kind of advice not to just run off wildly and start delving into this thing on my own
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: I got some sound and now I found legal counsel so I can have found legal
[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Regals this need to be handled the right way it need to be handled by legal professional who can
[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Got us through the steps not only on the legal side
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_02]: But also on
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: On the political and on the media side we need to my very savvy and that's exactly the person that we found in our
[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_02]: And Jesse Benals and we are happy to have him on board and we're moving forward with this space
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so you got the legal the political and the media components and
[00:05:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I mentioned this yesterday that he had hired this lawyer Jesse Benal and his firm
[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Who apparently have you know some expertise in navigating this because if you're going to be on you know from the legal side
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_00]: You are pursuing
[00:06:00] [SPEAKER_00]: If we are to believe what he said the other day that he is looking to go at CNN over this right
[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_00]: So you've got potential litigation. How do you sue a reporter?
[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_00]: How do you sue a news organization?
[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Right, that's a very specific field because there were all sorts of constitutional implications
[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_00]: There's you know tons of case law you need people that are well versed in that
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Specialization right
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Then there's the political side of this because you could win
[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Your case on the legal front against CNN again assuming that it's not true. You could win that case
[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_00]: But in the process destroy any chances you have of
[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_00]: winning the election also a lawyer that is focused only on the
[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_00]: The legal side of it may not be as
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_00]: attuned to the political calendar as
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_00]: This guy is right to understand where you are you are in a race for governor. There's five weeks left
[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_00]: time is ticking and you need to do something you have to move the needle somehow in this case
[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_00]: So you've got these these these two parallel tracks and then you add in the third
[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_00]: which is the media component, right which is to
[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Explain these cases to the media in a way that they cannot twist
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And and that means developing a strategy a market like a marketing a PR strategy, right?
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_00]: You have to have some sort of a strategy in dealing with
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_00]: national media
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: So he seems pretty confident in this right sounded like
[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: But he also said one of the things that this was meant to do was to divide the party. I thought this was interesting
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_00]: And he he goes a little bit further into that
[00:08:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I don't have time to play that clip right now. What I what I do have time to do is offer you a
[00:08:11] bribe
[00:08:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Would you like bill or rally's new book
[00:08:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Confronting the president's we had bill or rally on the show a couple of days ago. He's got the new book out
[00:08:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And it's called confronting the president's no spin assessments from Washington to Biden
[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and I got my copy in the mail
[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why I didn't get it before the interview
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: But you probably could even tell because I'm a professional so
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't need I already did the interview so I'm going to give it away
[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_00]: To the third caller I was going to go with the
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_00]: 1110th caller us being a 1110 a m and all but I didn't think that would be fair to Steve
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_00]: So he's the call screen or here so he's not I don't think producer Steve would appreciate that
[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I know he would
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_00]: So let's just go no, sorry. Let's go with the fourth caller
[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_00]: I meant to do four because I always do odd numbers for some reason. I don't know why fourth caller at
[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_00]: 704
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_00]: 570110
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_00]: fourth caller gets the book
[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Good luck
[00:09:13] [SPEAKER_00]: You know stories are powerful they help us make sense of things to understand experiences
[00:09:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Stories connect us to the people of our past while transcending generations

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Greg says I tried calling to get the book Pete but my call quote could not be completed as dialed
[00:10:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Thanks Obama
[00:10:29] I'd like
[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to recommend bill O'Reilly's no spin news on YouTube every week night. I still think he is the smartest guy in news and or politics
[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Well do it live
[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you Greg
[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no offense taken
[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Um
[00:10:47] [SPEAKER_00]: He is I enjoyed I enjoy having them on the show when I do get the opportunity
[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_00]: um
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so let me get back to the Mark Robinson interview again Robinson speaking with KC O Day on his morning radio show in
[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Raleigh and Greensboro
[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_00]: W PTI and
[00:11:08] [SPEAKER_00]: W
[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_00]: T is it T T K or T K K K ever again
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: So Robinson says
[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_00]: That he of course, you know, denies that he wrote this stuff he's gotten a lawyer now that's gonna help him pursue
[00:11:25] [SPEAKER_00]: All avenues
[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_00]: But he said one of the reasons why this stuff came out like this and the nature of the material
[00:11:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Is that it is meant to divide the Republican party
[00:11:47] [SPEAKER_02]: They're trying to destroy my family personally trying to destroy my name this is a common trope among Democrats
[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, you don't wait back to fair promise and before this is what they do whenever there's
[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: And I hate to put it this way, but it's the absolute truth with Democrats whenever there's a strong black candidate
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_02]: That pushes against their narrative and not just the black candidate, but it seems like any black person in this society
[00:12:13] [SPEAKER_02]: That pushes back against their narrative in a strong way that can make a difference in the black community make a difference in the community
[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_02]: have a hole
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_02]: They come out from and one of the things they always do if you try to make that man
[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_02]: That person look like a sexual
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: B.D.
[00:12:30] [SPEAKER_02]: They have done it time and time again. I can remember the young man watching it happen to clear its promise
[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I can remember
[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_02]: You be careful. Yeah, I think exactly what I remember the ridiculousness of that at that moment
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I remember seeing it with red cavern all
[00:12:47] [SPEAKER_02]: This is what they do and they hope then what they hope to do is try to get fellow Republicans a one-of-way
[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_00]: All right, I got to tell you this this actually is a persuasive argument for me because my bias
[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_00]: In watching the cavern all trial unfold well the Senate confirmation
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_00]: But I mean it essentially like turned into a circus trial, right?
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And I said this at the time because when I was on the air up in Asheville
[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Was when this was occurring and
[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_00]: Like I got people that you know, I call them the programming director
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_00]: emails and calls people who you know are tired of hearing about me talk about whatever topic right and
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_00]: I would get ever you know, I'd get a couple people that were like not wanting me to cover the cavern all proceedings
[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_00]: But to me
[00:13:46] [SPEAKER_00]: It was vital that I do so because otherwise all you get
[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Are the headlines and
[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_00]: The headlines usually are wrong
[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_00]: There you know the first
[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_00]: The first version of a story comes out you get the scream in headline and people like oh my gosh, that's not terrible, you know and
[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Then they never follow up. You don't go in depth
[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't do an examination of the evidence and that's what we were being asked to do as citizens
[00:14:17] [SPEAKER_00]: That was my responsive I felt it was my responsibility as a host to go through and
[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_00]: You know listen to all I mean, I watched all of that
[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_00]: Confirmationary every single morning
[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_00]: Every evening for weeks
[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I was watching that stuff
[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Reading all the reports interviewing people and stuff like that
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Bringing sound bites just
[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_00]: everyday and
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I said
[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_00]: After or towards the conclusion of that
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Of that confirmation trial
[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_00]: That the behavior of the Democrats radicalized me
[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_00]: It became very very clear and again, maybe I have a bit of a blind spot when it comes to some media
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Because or at least I did at the time because I used to be a reporter
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_00]: I came through those ranks
[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_00]: It would never occur to me
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_00]: to
[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Handle stories and cover allegations in the manner
[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_00]: that the media did with cavernal
[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't believe it. I could not believe it
[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_00]: And yet I had to because it was obvious and when you look at the evidence and when you read the reports
[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And you listen to the testimony
[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_00]: It was very obvious what had occurred
[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And it wasn't what Democrats were alleging
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And think about it
[00:15:48] [SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing that common a Harris Touts
[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_00]: That's one of the things she tells you and have any accomplishments
[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_00]: There isn't anything on her like you look at her
[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Biosheet on her own website and she doesn't have any accomplishments that she lists
[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just that I work to do this thing
[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_00]: I supported this other thing that never happened. You know like
[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't there's there's no there
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And one of the things she talks about is how I
[00:16:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Cross-examined Brett Cavanol. Yeah, who still was confirmed
[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_00]: So that didn't work out either for you and
[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_00]: It radicalized me I
[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Recognized then that like these people will say anything they will make up these allegations out of whole cloth if they think
[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_00]: They're right to kill a baby is
[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_00]: jeopardized
[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Right like that's that's where that came down to
[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_00]: They had lost their minds
[00:16:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And
[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_00]: When he says what he said there about
[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_00]: You know tying sexual DV and C two these people to the targets
[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I saw it
[00:16:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I saw it in those two examples that he listed there
[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Clarence Thomas and Brett Cavanol all right how had a season approaches and here's an idea give a gift that makes a difference

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_00]: in a communicate
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Greg says Pete Mark Robinson is toast. However, he could have a snowball's chance
[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_00]: If he would come out and make Josh Stein prove that he's not a racist
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_00]: A cuesstein of racism so much that he has to deny it straight out of the Democrat playbook
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_00]: He also needs to ask if the public or he's sorry. He also needs to ask the public
[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_00]: If they support abortions in the eighth month of pregnancy if they do not they need to vote for Robinson and save lives
[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_00]: People will vote for a sexual deviant if they are saving innocent lives
[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like this stuff isn't that hard. Maybe I should have been a Democrat. Well, that's
[00:18:59] [SPEAKER_00]: No, you can see that's the thing
[00:19:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Like if you ever found yourself in a position to have to defend some of the policies
[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_00]: You would realize very quickly that you cannot and then it's like oh man
[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_00]: This stinks now luckily when you have all of the media with you then like they don't ever challenge you on this stuff
[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_00]: And they never get into the philosophical and this is and look I suspect this is why
[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Stein doesn't want to debate Robinson he doesn't have to right if the poll show he's up
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And he's up by a lot and you have the media doing all your dirty work. You just go around do your campaign stops
[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You do a couple of friendly interviews, right? This is the strategy now they don't have to do
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_00]: any kind of debate and open themselves up to lines of questioning that they can't control
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_00]: and
[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Stines very weak on well a lot of stuff but on the
[00:19:56] [SPEAKER_00]: On the abortion question
[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_00]: As our all Democrats because the party now is
[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Absolutist there are no restrictions that they are cool with any longer
[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Because the party has moved so far to the left on this issue and most of the Americans have not
[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_00]: But most Americans are not aware of of the the
[00:20:23] [SPEAKER_00]: position of the
[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_00]: Democratic Party and their
[00:20:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Elected officials they don't talk about restrictions they won't they do not want to have any discussion
[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_00]: We heard what that look or we heard what happens when
[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Somebody even asked Kamala Harris it was Dana Bash
[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I know sorry it was the it was one of the reporters at the National Association of Black journalists and asked
[00:20:48] [SPEAKER_00]: What restrictions
[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_00]: She would be comfortable with and all she said was I'm for the protections in Roe V Wade
[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's not an answer because Roe V Wade got dismantled by
[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Casey versus Planned Parenthood
[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Not Dobbs not the Dobbs decision
[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Casey decision
[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Which put in place the viability stuff and all of that
[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Ro talked about the trimesters saying the government did have a legitimate
[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Purpose in restricting abortions in the third trimester
[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And that they had some bit of say in the second trimester as well
[00:21:29] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if Harris knows that
[00:21:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if any Democrat knows that and that's a problem I think when you're advocating positions
[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And you don't know the topic
[00:21:42] [SPEAKER_00]: And you don't know what the what the rules are or the
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_00]: The animating philosophy behind your position and your opponent's position right?
[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I mean they're intellectually flabby because they never have to defend these positions
[00:21:54] [SPEAKER_00]: They get to just say you know, I'm for a woman's right to choose
[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm pro women's health care and then the media's like oh very good. Let's move on
[00:22:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Mark Robinson
[00:22:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Said that this the CNN story
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_00]: He said this is all dirty tricks
[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_00]: From the Democrats and media, but I repeat myself and he said you know people need to vote Republican on the entire ballot up and down the ballot
[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_00]: The host of the program KCO day
[00:22:25] [SPEAKER_00]: He was pointing out he then pointed out that
[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Like this is impactful to the campaign because there are people he has Casey has heard from these people his audience
[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I've heard from people in this audience as well
[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_00]: That they don't believe it and so therefore we shouldn't talk about it
[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And by talking about it, we're just
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Making more problems for Mark Robinson
[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_00]: And Casey was pointing out that
[00:22:54] [SPEAKER_00]: That this does have an impact and you may not like that but that doesn't make it not true
[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Right, it doesn't that that it that it's impactful and how do you know this in case it made a great point
[00:23:08] [SPEAKER_00]: That they wouldn't do it if it was otherwise
[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_00]: right
[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_00]: If it didn't have an impact
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_00]: They wouldn't have done it
[00:23:19] [SPEAKER_00]: Here's Robinson's response
[00:23:20] [SPEAKER_02]: You know you got to realize this as well Casey one of the things they also intended for this to do was to stop
[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Stop our campaign didn't stress if we didn't get out of the campaign
[00:23:30] [SPEAKER_02]: They want to totally
[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Reshift our focus and make the entire campaign a referendum on this issue
[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_02]: We don't need to do that and we're not going to do that
[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_02]: We have we have legal counsel that could help us take this fight on
[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Separated a brob what we're doing
[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_02]: But our campaign needs to be laser focused and all Republican campaigns need to be laser focused on the issues Casey
[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_02]: Just like I told the news media the other day
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_02]: When they were asking me about this and I told him we're gonna go explain the audio before you came exactly
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Look at what's going on in our state in our country right now and on the world stage on the world stage
[00:24:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Look what's going on
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Wars two wars across the globe that we deeply involved in it and quite frankly our government had a handy policy
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Our border increases our children down from fentanyl
[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Our businesses in peril because of inflation supply chain issues another another
[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Economic rose
[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_02]: We have a referendum on this ballot right now
[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not some delicious false tabloid trash from 15 or 20 years ago
[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_02]: It's the subject issue to the people of this state and national fall faces and no Democrats those
[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_02]: Leftist they know that if they can get the people alive off of that and turn it towards that trash
[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_02]: That they have a shot at winning we cannot let them do it, Casey
[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_02]: We have to fight them back on their lives, but we also have to continue to hammer on the message of this election
[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so there was one other question and I encourage people to listen to the whole interview
[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_00]: You can find it on the podcast
[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Casey O Day show it's on the iHeart Radio platform
[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's the letters kc and then his last name is oh apostrophe d e a
[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_00]: He's not a dead
[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_00]: no
[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_00]: O day is a
[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_00]: O day and
[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_00]: But he then asked yes, I'm a bunch of questions but this last one I pulled is about why he thinks Josh Stein won't debate him
[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_00]: So when I was a kid my grandpa died with Alzheimer's and before he died my mom and my dad and all of us really
[00:25:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Help take care of them as he got progressively worse
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_00]: 40 years ago there were no treatments and not much support for caregivers and family
[00:25:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Things are different today because of the workers so many people including the Alzheimer's Association of Western North Carolina
[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_00]: It's a great organization with awesome people. They've got huge hearts
[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_00]: I've been a supporter for like 25 years this cause means a lot to me
[00:25:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I participate in the annual walk to end Alzheimer's and I am leading a Charlotte team this year
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_00]: It's called peats pack you can sign up and join the team and walk with me
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_00]: It's on October 19th at truest field in uptown sign up at alz.org slash walk and then just look for my team
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Peats pack and there's also a link in the podcast description here also. I'm gonna be emceeing the Gastonia walk on October 5th
[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_00]: So make a team and join us or make a donation to help me hit my goal. I would really appreciate it
[00:26:28] [SPEAKER_00]: There are a bunch of other walks around the Carolinas and you can go to a
[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_00]: lz.org for all of the dates and locations
[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_00]: We are closer than ever to stopping Alzheimer's and if you can help us get there
[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_00]: We would really appreciate it. Will you come walk with me for a different future for families for more time for treatments?
[00:26:48] [SPEAKER_00]: This is why I walk
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_00]: You do do do do do do do so
[00:26:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Moments ago I read an email from Greg who suggested that
[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Robinson could improve his chances of winning by just coming out and accusing Josh Stein of being racist
[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_00]: So
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Let's play the final sound bite from the interview that Mark Robinson gave to KC ode this morning
[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_00]: on the iHeart stations up in Raleigh and Greensboro
[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_00]: Where he said why he believes his opponent won't debate him
[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_02]: But debate about the of the disparities in our education system and how we can fix
[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_02]: I went to debate him about a mirror and I went to bring out the fact that you know here's a good one
[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_02]: Casey, you know, funny to me. This guy serves in the legislature but he never talks about
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_02]: And the reason why I never talked about is because of not projection not live made up by some
[00:28:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Air Nitrole but he just weren't talking about the cause of facts when he was in the legislature and the
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Democrats were in control of the house and the governor's mansion the state was dead broke
[00:28:10] [SPEAKER_02]: And deeply and get to the federal government. It was Republicans who took over in 2010
[00:28:14] [SPEAKER_02]: They've got a found in that debt
[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_02]: To inhabit on the firm by the actual funding that we all write down in his state
[00:28:20] [SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't want to get on stage and talk about that
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't want to talk about it in his commercials
[00:28:25] [SPEAKER_02]: It's all conjecture lies. That's why he is afraid to debate me
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm gonna be honest with you two Casey
[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a little racial aspect to that too when you you know when you're you're the candidate for governor
[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Get here in the state and you say you don't want to let you to my candidacy
[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_02]: The first black man went for government here in the state. That's a little
[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Something basically there's something wrong with that
[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Well, let's face it if the if the probably if the parties are reversed that would be the lead story actually
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely it would be the lead story if a
[00:28:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Like Republican candidate said anyone will get a market chance. You know the black
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Democratic governor candidate it would be all over CNN ABC and CBS in short order
[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_02]: But of course
[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Them characterized the me as a clans for the national news either right so remember
[00:29:15] the
[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Political cartoonist employed by WRAL news which again
[00:29:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Why the hell does a TV news department need a political cartoonist who oh by the way is like a social studies teacher
[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_00]: for eighth graders and
[00:29:30] [SPEAKER_00]: He drew a political cartoon of Mark Robinson and I forget her name but another member of the state board of education
[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Who happens to be a lump B
[00:29:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Indian and
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Drew them as members of the KKK and
[00:29:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Democrats thought that was hilarious
[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_00]: That didn't make national news he is correct there. He's correct about the
[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Democrats bankrupting our state
[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Running up structural deficits that were so large that they were withholding
[00:30:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Tax refunds you would follow your tax return and then you went you know give me my money back that you over collected from me throughout the year
[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_00]: And then they wouldn't give it back. They wouldn't refund you your money. I remember that they would help the reimbursements back to cities
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Because the cities were do reimbursement money from the sales tax collections and the state was like sorry
[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna have to keep this too because they just kept spending and spending they spent this into oblivion
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_00]: And then they lost control and Republicans came in reform the tax code and now we're running billion multi billion dollar surpluses
[00:30:43] [SPEAKER_00]: But there is this point here. So I don't like the fact that it seems like he's you know accusing
[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Stein of racism
[00:30:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I understand why you would do it from a political strategy standpoint
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_00]: But I do kind of agree with the point about
[00:31:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Him saying I don't want to legitimize this candidacy of Mark Robinson Mark Robinson is the sitting lieutenant governor of the state
[00:31:11] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't get to quote legitimize or delegitimize for that matter
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_00]: He's already one election buddy
[00:31:20] [SPEAKER_00]: That's not your call
[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_00]: You should get up there and you should have a debate with the guy
[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_00]: But he doesn't want to I suspect for many of the reasons Mark Robinson laid out
[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_00]: But also Mark Robinson is a better public speaker than Josh Stein is
[00:31:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And if Stein is leading in the polls which by the way Robinson said in this interview that he doesn't believe that
[00:31:42] [SPEAKER_00]: And he believes that's why all of this stuff these quote lies were manufactured against him as because he was winning
[00:31:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that to be true
[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot about this story. I don't know at this point
[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_00]: But maybe the law firm hired by Robinson will help us get to some of the
[00:32:02] [SPEAKER_00]: Information we shall see all right that'll do it for this episode
[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for listening
[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I could not do the show without your support and the support of the businesses that advertise on the podcast
