This episode is presented by Create A Video – President Joe Biden calls Trump's supporters "garbage" and the Democrats and media (but I repeat myself) rush to explain that there was an apostrophe in the word "supporter's" -- even though that makes no sense.

[00:00:28] So I started out my career as a poor sharecropper. No, I'm just kidding. I was a reporter and I went to college. I went to Winthrop University and I graduated out of their mass communication broadcast journalism track.
[00:00:46] And part of the education that you go through as a mass comm major there is an entire semester long class on the use of apostrophes. It's apostrophes 101. And that's spelled apostrophe with an apostrophe and then an S. Apostrophes 101.
[00:01:07] So this way you learn how to use apostrophes correctly. So I like you will never catch me making a mistake between your and your right.
[00:01:20] Y-O-U-R versus Y-O-U apostrophe R-E or you and use being from New York. I am aware of how to use the apostrophe correctly.
[00:01:31] In fact, a lot of words use apostrophes that you wouldn't even think use them. Yeah, like they're just they pop up kind of everywhere.
[00:01:41] So I am here to guide you through based on my extensive training with the use of the apostrophes.
[00:01:49] I am here to guide you through garbage gate or if you're not French garbage gate. All right.
[00:01:57] So what happened? Well, first off.
[00:02:02] In an obvious.
[00:02:07] Tactic to get dudes to watch her closing argument, the Harris campaign decided to hold a big old rally at the site of a former Klan march.
[00:02:20] And they did it.
[00:02:24] Counterprogramming to the World Series Game Four.
[00:02:28] Because that's how you get men to watch your speech is you put it up against the World Series.
[00:02:35] So because like as a dude, I can also tell you that when it's like, hmm, I was going to watch this game for the World Series.
[00:02:41] Will the Dodgers beat the Yankees?
[00:02:43] It's going to be tough.
[00:02:45] What do I do?
[00:02:46] Oh, now Kamala Harris is going to do a speech.
[00:02:49] And so that must be more important and more exciting than the World Series.
[00:02:54] So I have to watch that.
[00:02:56] See, that's how dudes think.
[00:02:57] Right.
[00:02:58] Right.
[00:02:59] Obviously.
[00:03:01] So she does her speech and she does it at the ellipses, which is.
[00:03:08] It's an it's a wash.
[00:03:09] It's like the the Washington Monument.
[00:03:12] Right.
[00:03:12] It's where Donald Trump did his his January 6th speech where he told people to peacefully protest.
[00:03:21] And then people engaged in a riot.
[00:03:25] And.
[00:03:27] Yeah.
[00:03:29] Insurrection.
[00:03:31] So she goes to the scene of that rally, which also, by the way, I am.
[00:03:38] I've been led to believe here that I have a very good authority that if you do a rally or a speech or a gathering of some kind, you do it.
[00:03:49] At a venue where some white supremacists almost 100 years ago also held a rally.
[00:03:57] Then that makes you a white supremacist as well.
[00:04:01] OK, or not.
[00:04:02] See, if you will, you can either way.
[00:04:04] I mean, it's interchangeable.
[00:04:05] OK, so white supremacist, fascist, Nazi, whatever, Republican, Trump, whatever.
[00:04:10] It's all the same thing.
[00:04:11] So you.
[00:04:13] So, yeah.
[00:04:13] So if you do like, let's say, Madison Square Garden, you're going to do a rally in Madison Square Garden.
[00:04:20] Because you're from New York, let's say that it doesn't matter that that's maybe the reason why you want to do the speech there.
[00:04:27] What matters is that the KKK did a rally there in 1939.
[00:04:32] And by doing a rally there, I mean not actually there because Madison Square Garden was at a different location when they held their rally at Madison Square Garden.
[00:04:41] But they moved it different building.
[00:04:43] But that means you too are a Nazi.
[00:04:48] And so this means also, I guess, that the other half of the country is a Nazi because Harris just did.
[00:04:57] Yeah, she just did a thing at the location where in 1925.
[00:05:03] The KKK did a march.
[00:05:07] Now, I don't know.
[00:05:09] I assume KKK is interchangeable with Nazis and white supremacy, I thought.
[00:05:16] But maybe there's a distinction there.
[00:05:18] I don't know.
[00:05:19] But I'm just lumping them all together.
[00:05:21] So I'm applying the Madison Square Garden Nazism standard to the rally that was held last night by Kamala Harris.
[00:05:31] So she too and all of her supporters, I guess, are Nazis as well.
[00:05:36] But also, something else occurred last night.
[00:05:41] Another bit of counter-programming.
[00:05:43] So, recognizing that the World Series Game 4 was going on and a Kamala Harris Nazi rally was going on, Joe Biden decided to help.
[00:05:57] Okay, let me backtrack.
[00:05:58] Okay, he probably didn't decide this.
[00:06:00] Joe Biden was put in front of a laptop and he did a Zoom call in order to help, air quotes around that one, help Kamala Harris.
[00:06:13] He did a lot of press for her campaign for president after he got, you know, tossed aside in a coup, which he appears to not be bitter about at all.
[00:06:24] So they toss him aside.
[00:06:27] Somehow or another, they think it's going to be a good idea while she's doing her speech to have him do an appearance on, what is it?
[00:06:38] It's like Voto Latino or something like that.
[00:06:42] So it's like a Hispanic broadcast.
[00:06:47] And so he Zoom calls in on this thing and is making the case for Kamala Harris.
[00:06:56] Rather than listening to her make her own case, he's doing this interview himself.
[00:07:01] Because he's helping, everybody.
[00:07:02] He's helping.
[00:07:06] But then Joe, Joe pulls a Joe.
[00:07:12] Joe Biden says some stuff.
[00:07:16] And I have the verbatim quote here because we are examining what he said.
[00:07:23] And this is where my expertise in apostrophization comes in.
[00:07:27] Okay.
[00:07:29] So here's what he said.
[00:07:31] Quote.
[00:07:37] So as the Biden whisperer, I can I can translate this for you.
[00:07:42] Well, here, I'll tell you what.
[00:07:43] I'll play the original audio and you can see if you can make out what he's saying here.
[00:07:48] And just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage.
[00:07:54] Well, let me tell you something.
[00:07:56] I don't I don't know the Puerto Rican that I know or Puerto Rico where I'm in my home state of Delaware.
[00:08:03] They're good, decent, honorable people.
[00:08:05] The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.
[00:08:12] Hmm.
[00:08:13] So a lot of problems with this answer, a lot of problems with this statement.
[00:08:19] First off, a lot of people I think are just kind of they're just going right past the first part where he says.
[00:08:28] I don't I I don't know the Puerto Rican that I know or a Puerto Rico where I'm from in my home state of Delaware.
[00:08:38] They're good, decent, honorable people.
[00:08:41] So what I don't know the Puerto Rican that I know.
[00:08:50] OK, or a Puerto Rico where I'm from.
[00:08:54] Well, you're not from Puerto Rico, sir, in my home state of Delaware.
[00:09:01] So I think what he's trying to say here is that the Puerto Ricans he knows in Delaware are good, decent, honorable people.
[00:09:12] I think that's what he's trying to say.
[00:09:14] So he's trying to make the case.
[00:09:16] And by the way, in watching the video of the Zoom call, it is obvious to me, at least that he's reading a statement.
[00:09:28] This is not off the cuff for him.
[00:09:30] He's got something in front of him that it appears he is reading.
[00:09:34] He's reading from.
[00:09:36] OK, so that's the first part.
[00:09:38] But then the second part, he says the only garbage I see floating out there.
[00:09:45] I'm guessing what out in the ocean.
[00:09:47] Or something like the.
[00:09:49] OK, but he says the only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.
[00:09:54] He said that his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it's un-American.
[00:10:01] It's totally contrary to everything we've done and everything we've been.
[00:10:04] That's the rest of the quote.
[00:10:06] All right.
[00:10:07] So who is Joe Biden talking about?
[00:10:11] This gets to the use of an apostrophe.
[00:10:14] Which first was not in the official transcript.
[00:10:18] And then got added to the official transcript later.
[00:10:22] You know, stories are powerful.

[00:11:25] Stephen Miller from The Spectator tweeted out,
[00:11:30] quote,
[00:11:40] It reminded me of,
[00:11:43] isn't that how you save Tinkerbell?
[00:11:46] Right?
[00:11:47] How do you save Tinkerbell at the end of the...
[00:11:49] It's like we got to...
[00:11:50] Come on everybody!
[00:11:52] Is it clap?
[00:11:52] Or is it snap or something?
[00:11:54] Real hard everybody!
[00:11:56] And then...
[00:11:57] Maybe she'll live and then...
[00:11:59] Oh my gosh!
[00:12:00] She lives!
[00:12:00] Spoiler alert.
[00:12:01] Sorry.
[00:12:02] But yeah.
[00:12:04] That's what we're doing with the apostrophe.
[00:12:07] Come on everybody!
[00:12:08] Just clap real hard!
[00:12:09] Clap real hard!
[00:12:10] And this apostrophe will be there!
[00:12:13] Let me first jump over.
[00:12:15] Eric's been waiting for a while.
[00:12:17] Hello Eric!
[00:12:18] Welcome to the program.
[00:12:20] Hey Pete!
[00:12:21] Hey!
[00:12:21] I'm alright.
[00:12:22] What's up?
[00:12:23] Hey, um...
[00:12:24] I just wanted to give an update.
[00:12:26] Something that struck me.
[00:12:28] Now I'm coming at this with...
[00:12:29] As a Trump voter, but...
[00:12:31] Um...
[00:12:32] I'm up in Pittsburgh last week.
[00:12:34] In a town.
[00:12:35] Like kind of a borough.
[00:12:36] Just outside the city.
[00:12:37] And I swear the...
[00:12:40] The Harris signs were like...
[00:12:41] 15 to 1.
[00:12:42] Mm-hmm.
[00:12:44] And...
[00:12:45] I don't know.
[00:12:45] It just struck me that...
[00:12:47] There were that many signs.
[00:12:49] Where were they?
[00:12:50] And...
[00:12:52] I'd say about...
[00:12:53] It was like a little town just outside of the center city area.
[00:12:56] Right.
[00:12:56] I'm sorry.
[00:12:57] So...
[00:12:57] But like where...
[00:12:58] Were they just like along the side of the road?
[00:13:01] Were they at intersections?
[00:13:03] Were they on people's...
[00:13:04] Like in individual yards.
[00:13:06] Okay.
[00:13:07] Um...
[00:13:08] And I actually talked to a couple people in the neighborhood and...
[00:13:11] Man, it's a lot of Trump hate.
[00:13:13] You know.
[00:13:13] Oh yeah.
[00:13:14] It's like, wow.
[00:13:15] Yeah.
[00:13:15] And...
[00:13:16] What made me think about...
[00:13:17] I was just...
[00:13:18] You know, you're hearing a lot of...
[00:13:21] Positive...
[00:13:21] You know.
[00:13:22] Oh, the Republicans are gonna do so great.
[00:13:23] Trump's gonna do great.
[00:13:25] And...
[00:13:25] And I don't know.
[00:13:26] It started making me think...
[00:13:27] Is this 22 all over again?
[00:13:29] With...
[00:13:30] Yeah.
[00:13:30] It could be.
[00:13:31] Like right now...
[00:13:32] You are correct.
[00:13:33] Republicans seem very confident...
[00:13:35] Based on turnout numbers and polling.
[00:13:38] Um...
[00:13:39] And just...
[00:13:40] The way the Harris campaign has been shifting its strategies...
[00:13:44] It...
[00:13:44] It gives the impression that they're just getting desperate.
[00:13:49] Um...
[00:13:49] Now that being said...
[00:13:51] All of the pollsters...
[00:13:53] Like the ones that are trusted...
[00:13:55] That I have seen...
[00:13:57] Guys like Nate Silver...
[00:13:59] And Harry Enten...
[00:14:00] These guys are like...
[00:14:01] This is...
[00:14:02] This is a dead heat.
[00:14:04] We...
[00:14:04] We have no idea who's gonna win this.
[00:14:06] And anybody who tells you that they know is lying.
[00:14:09] Nobody knows who's gonna win.
[00:14:11] Um...
[00:14:11] It's...
[00:14:12] There's just...
[00:14:12] It's too close.
[00:14:14] So...
[00:14:14] I think Republicans...
[00:14:15] Uh...
[00:14:16] Could end up...
[00:14:17] Losing.
[00:14:19] And...
[00:14:19] Then of course...
[00:14:20] You know...
[00:14:21] You're gonna have all of the accusations that stuff got stolen and this sort of thing.
[00:14:25] Um...
[00:14:26] But they could win.
[00:14:27] I don't know.
[00:14:28] It's the...
[00:14:29] But...
[00:14:29] This is why I don't make the...
[00:14:30] I don't make predictions.
[00:14:31] But I don't know what to make of a...
[00:14:33] Of a Pittsburgh suburb...
[00:14:35] That has a lot of Harris signs in it.
[00:14:38] Because I know nothing about the suburb.
[00:14:39] I know nothing about the area that you've...
[00:14:42] That you were in.
[00:14:43] Because I could...
[00:14:44] You could pull the voter registration for that county or for the town and find out,
[00:14:48] you know...
[00:14:49] Do...
[00:14:49] Do a lot of Democrats live there?
[00:14:51] Then that would make sense, right?
[00:14:54] Yeah.
[00:14:54] Oh, yeah.
[00:14:55] It's definitely a Democrat...
[00:14:56] More Democrat area.
[00:14:57] But I'd say this...
[00:14:58] The people who live there are...
[00:15:00] It's kind of a mix of ages.
[00:15:02] It's primarily white.
[00:15:03] But, you know, you have some older people and you have younger...
[00:15:06] You know, so it's kind of a mix.
[00:15:07] But, yeah, it's definitely a more Democrat area.
[00:15:09] But so is Pittsburgh in general.
[00:15:10] Right.
[00:15:12] Yeah.
[00:15:12] So, yeah.
[00:15:14] Yeah, I just really wanted to bring it up to say, wow, you know, a lot of talk about,
[00:15:19] oh, Trump's going to win PA.
[00:15:21] And man, I don't know.
[00:15:21] That's a blue state.
[00:15:23] You know?
[00:15:23] Well, it has become less blue.
[00:15:26] They've lost, like...
[00:15:29] What is it?
[00:15:30] We went over these numbers the other day.
[00:15:32] Pennsylvania's lost hundreds of thousands of Democrat-registered voters.
[00:15:37] Hundreds of thousands.
[00:15:39] So, it's not as blue as it was.
[00:15:42] It's becoming redder.
[00:15:44] It's becoming more purple.
[00:15:45] Which makes it unpredictable.
[00:15:47] Just like North Carolina makes it unpredictable, right?
[00:15:49] You're talking about margins that are decided by 1% for the presidential races.
[00:15:58] So, it's going to be very close.
[00:16:01] And, yeah, I mean, I agree.
[00:16:03] Republicans should not be overconfident here and thinking that this thing is theirs.
[00:16:09] I don't, like, I don't think, well, I don't know whose it is.
[00:16:14] So, Eric, I appreciate the call.
[00:16:16] I don't know how anybody could be confident in the results at this point.
[00:16:22] There are positive signs.
[00:16:23] There are also a lot of negative signs, right?
[00:16:26] One of which is what Eric just mentioned there, the Trump hate.
[00:16:30] They're, like, and I know people who love Trump don't want to hear this,
[00:16:33] but literally 45% of the country really, really, really hates Donald Trump.
[00:16:38] I mean hates Donald Trump.
[00:16:43] So, we put him up again.
[00:16:46] Do you really hate him?
[00:16:48] How much do you hate him?
[00:16:50] Let's try this again.
[00:16:53] Yeah, so we're going to try it again.
[00:16:55] Let's see what happens.
[00:16:56] So, all of Garbage Gate began when Trump had the Nazi rally at Madison Square Garden.
[00:17:03] And he invited, or whoever was that organized the event, decided, you know,
[00:17:09] what would be really hilarious is to have this YouTuber comic guy, an insult comic,
[00:17:15] go on stage and insult people while asking for their votes.
[00:17:21] It's a, look, it's a, right, it's an interesting strategy.
[00:17:27] It's bold.
[00:17:30] But in today's society, with the humorless left being what it is,
[00:17:37] it kind of backfired a little bit because one of the,
[00:17:41] and I'm also curious because he made a bunch of other insults to other people,
[00:17:44] but this is the only one that anybody really cares about,
[00:17:47] which if I recall correctly,
[00:17:49] didn't Puerto Rico have a problem with their landfills several years ago?
[00:17:56] I mean, look, the joke didn't work, obviously.
[00:17:59] The crowd didn't bust out laughing, and that's really the,
[00:18:03] that's the indication as to whether or not a joke works.
[00:18:06] Okay?
[00:18:07] Get in front of a whole bunch of people, tell a joke,
[00:18:09] and if nobody laughs, it's not funny.
[00:18:12] Scrap the joke, right?
[00:18:14] Or rework it somehow.
[00:18:15] That's how, that's how comedy works.
[00:18:17] You know immediately.
[00:18:19] I heard Jerry Seinfeld talk about this, like,
[00:18:20] why are you reading critic reviews of your show?
[00:18:24] Because the only critic review that matters is immediate.
[00:18:28] When the people laugh in the crowd, then you know that joke is funny.
[00:18:32] That's it.
[00:18:33] And humor is different for everybody.
[00:18:36] Jon Stewart, noted commentarian on Comedy Central,
[00:18:43] he's a comic.
[00:18:45] He thought the joke was funny.
[00:18:46] He played other jokes that the insult comic guy has made over the years.
[00:18:51] This is the guy that is literally invited to the roasts of famous people,
[00:18:57] and then he tells awful jokes about the person being roasted.
[00:19:03] It's like, I, yeah, I don't watch these things.
[00:19:07] I don't, like, I just prefer to have somebody do a stand-up routine.
[00:19:12] Unless, let's say, it's like Ricky Gervais roasting the actors at one of the awards show.
[00:19:19] Like, that to me, I like that kind of a roast.
[00:19:21] That's fine.
[00:19:22] But what's this guy's name?
[00:19:24] Tony Hinchcliffe.
[00:19:27] And he makes a joke about how bad things have gotten.
[00:19:33] You know, have you heard that there's like a whole island of garbage just floating out in the ocean?
[00:19:37] And so obviously what do people think about?
[00:19:39] They think about, like, the garbage or, yeah, that big garbage thing that's like,
[00:19:44] isn't it out in, like, the Pacific?
[00:19:45] It's got all the plastic bags and the bottle caps and stuff,
[00:19:48] and the turtles swim around eating all the bottle caps
[00:19:50] and swimming through the soda can rings or something.
[00:19:54] So I don't know if they're, right, they're attracted to them or something?
[00:19:58] I don't know.
[00:19:58] But that's what I thought when he first started with the wind-up on the joke.
[00:20:03] And then, of course, he delivers the punchline,
[00:20:06] which is that, yeah, it's called Puerto Rico.
[00:20:08] Yeah.
[00:20:16] Yeah.
[00:20:17] Anyway, outrage ensues.
[00:20:19] Oh, my gosh, he's insulting all Hispanics or Latinxs.
[00:20:26] Well, no, he wasn't insulting all Latinxs.
[00:20:29] He was boom, roasted, making a joke about Puerto Rico,
[00:20:37] and I thought it had some connection to that landfill thing,
[00:20:40] but it's too esoteric, you know, and it's, I don't know,
[00:20:45] it didn't get a laugh out of me.
[00:20:48] But whatever, it's a joke, and it's an insult comic.
[00:20:51] That's what he does.
[00:20:52] Much like when Ronald Reagan brought Don Rickles out at one of his events,
[00:20:55] and Rickles proceeds to just mock everybody.
[00:20:58] That's what insult comics do.
[00:20:59] It's right there in their job title.
[00:21:02] So outrage ensues, and now, of course, the media and the Democrats,
[00:21:07] but I repeat myself, attempt to use this in order to, you know,
[00:21:10] dissuade all Latinx people, which, as I understand it,
[00:21:14] they don't actually like the term Latinx,
[00:21:16] but Democrats are going to make you like it,
[00:21:18] and they're going to make all of the Hispanic people not vote for Trump now
[00:21:24] because this guy on the stage made a joke about Puerto Rico.
[00:21:29] I've never been to Puerto Rico.
[00:21:30] I would like to go to Puerto Rico.
[00:21:32] I don't even need a passport to go to Puerto Rico.
[00:21:34] And then people start making all sorts of larger arguments
[00:21:37] about how this proves white supremacy and gentrification,
[00:21:40] and white people are moving to Puerto Rico,
[00:21:41] which, by the way, is a protectorate of America, right?
[00:21:46] So we are allowed to move there,
[00:21:49] unless, of course, Democrats are saying that white people
[00:21:52] shouldn't be allowed to move certain places or something,
[00:21:54] and that seems kind of racist-y, so I'm not sure,
[00:21:56] but they did have their big rally last night
[00:21:58] at the site of a Nazi rally, of a Klan rally.
[00:22:03] So it's possible. I don't know.
[00:22:06] But Joe Biden does a Zoom interview,
[00:22:11] and he calls half of the country garbage
[00:22:18] because he says,
[00:22:20] the only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters.
[00:22:24] His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable,
[00:22:27] and it's un-American.
[00:22:28] It's totally contrary to everything we've done,
[00:22:31] everything we've been.
[00:22:33] And the original transcript, as it was published,
[00:22:36] by the White House,
[00:22:38] spelled the word supporters
[00:22:40] S-U-P-P-O-R-T-E-R-S.
[00:22:44] No apostrophe.
[00:22:47] And then the media swooped in
[00:22:49] to try to come up with an explanation
[00:22:51] as to why Joe Biden would say something
[00:22:53] so stupid and mean,
[00:22:56] overlooking the fact that Joe Biden
[00:22:58] is and has been for his entire public career
[00:23:03] stupid and mean.
[00:23:06] This is the guy that called the guy fat, right?
[00:23:09] He's threatened to beat up Donald Trump
[00:23:11] on multiple occasions,
[00:23:13] threatening physical violence and stuff.
[00:23:15] Like, this is who Joe Biden is
[00:23:17] and always has been.
[00:23:18] I've said this since he was nominated.
[00:23:19] I find it completely hilarious
[00:23:22] that Joe Biden was the guy that they settled on
[00:23:25] after saying,
[00:23:27] we don't want Donald Trump
[00:23:28] because he's mean and he's stupid,
[00:23:31] and then you put Joe Biden up there.
[00:23:33] Like, wait, that's your alternative?
[00:23:35] That's like kind of the same thing there, right?
[00:23:37] That you're saying he is.
[00:23:41] So, the media swoops in
[00:23:44] and they're trying to now frame this
[00:23:46] as something else
[00:23:47] other than Joe Biden's deplorables moment.
[00:23:50] Much like Hillary Clinton, right?
[00:23:53] Said, oh, I put these people
[00:23:54] in like the basket of deplorables.
[00:23:56] Racists and sexists and all this stuff.
[00:23:59] At least she was just talking about a subset
[00:24:02] of the Republican voters.
[00:24:04] She said she likes to take a portion
[00:24:06] of the Republicans
[00:24:07] and put them into the basket of deplorables.
[00:24:09] But Joe Biden didn't make that distinction.
[00:24:11] Again, see, stupid and mean.
[00:24:13] So he just said, you know,
[00:24:15] the only garbage out there is his supporters,
[00:24:17] his demonization of Latinos.
[00:24:22] But then the media's like,
[00:24:23] no, no, no, he's not talking about Donald Trump.
[00:24:25] He was talking about
[00:24:26] the insult comic,
[00:24:28] Tony Hinchcliffe.
[00:24:29] And there is actually an apostrophe
[00:24:34] in the word supporters.
[00:24:36] So supporter, apostrophe, yes.
[00:24:38] And so we're supposed to
[00:24:40] believe that Joe Biden was making
[00:24:43] this insult against the insult comic
[00:24:46] and calling his demonization of Latinos
[00:24:49] un-American.
[00:24:53] But this guy didn't demonize Latinos.
[00:24:59] So, what?
[00:25:01] So then the White House goes back
[00:25:02] and changes the transcript
[00:25:03] and they insert an apostrophe.
[00:25:05] And so this is what we're supposed to believe
[00:25:08] Joe Biden meant to say.
[00:25:09] Look, Joe Biden says a lot of stupid
[00:25:11] and mean stuff.
[00:25:12] He has for years.
[00:25:14] Right?
[00:25:14] And then when the media is rushing in
[00:25:16] to do this retconning,
[00:25:18] then what does Joe Biden do?
[00:25:19] They put out a statement saying,
[00:25:20] oh, well, he didn't mean to talk
[00:25:22] about his supporters.
[00:25:23] He meant Donald Trump.
[00:25:26] It's like, oh, whoops.
[00:25:29] Yeah.
[00:25:30] Tara Servatius says,
[00:25:33] she's got a quote from an article
[00:25:35] that Joe Biden's EPA sued Puerto Rico
[00:25:38] over its well-documented trash problem.
[00:25:41] Look, it makes sense.
[00:25:43] It's an island, right?
[00:25:46] They're not making any more of the land.
[00:25:48] So you're on an island
[00:25:50] and you're generating trash
[00:25:51] and what are you going to do with it?
[00:25:53] So it makes sense that islands
[00:25:54] have this unique problem.
[00:25:56] Like with us,
[00:25:58] you know, we just bury it
[00:26:01] on the outskirts of town, you know?
[00:26:04] And name the landfill
[00:26:06] after a revered public servant.
[00:26:09] That's how we do it.
[00:26:13] That is actually the name.
[00:26:14] Anyway, Ben Rhodes.
[00:26:18] Ben Rhodes.
[00:26:19] Not the guy from the band,
[00:26:20] the Ben Rhodes Five.
[00:26:21] Not that guy.
[00:26:23] Ben Rhodes,
[00:26:23] this is the guy that had
[00:26:25] the nickname
[00:26:26] inside the Obama White House
[00:26:29] of Hamas.
[00:26:30] Okay?
[00:26:31] Ben Rhodes
[00:26:32] now does,
[00:26:33] I think he's one of the guys
[00:26:34] that does
[00:26:35] the Pod Save America
[00:26:37] or something,
[00:26:38] all the Obama bros,
[00:26:39] they do their podcasts.
[00:26:40] I think he's one of those.
[00:26:42] So this was another line
[00:26:44] of defense
[00:26:45] that Democrats were taking
[00:26:46] was that Joe Biden,
[00:26:48] this is what he tweeted,
[00:26:49] Joe Biden is not
[00:26:50] the Democratic nominee.
[00:26:52] Kamala Harris is.
[00:26:53] Trump can't win a fight
[00:26:55] between the past
[00:26:55] and the future
[00:26:56] because he is washed up,
[00:26:57] he's a washed up demagogue
[00:26:59] who attacks Americans
[00:27:00] as the enemy within
[00:27:01] and understands nothing
[00:27:02] about anyone
[00:27:02] other than himself.
[00:27:03] Right?
[00:27:04] So,
[00:27:05] so the excuse
[00:27:06] for Joe Biden
[00:27:08] calling Trump supporters
[00:27:10] garbage
[00:27:10] and look,
[00:27:11] look,
[00:27:11] that's what he did.
[00:27:12] Right?
[00:27:14] Joe Biden did a speech
[00:27:16] like,
[00:27:17] do not whiz on my boots
[00:27:19] and tell me it's raining.
[00:27:20] This guy did a speech
[00:27:21] in Philadelphia
[00:27:24] with the blood red lighting
[00:27:26] and the black flags
[00:27:27] and the Marines behind him
[00:27:29] and attacked
[00:27:31] MAGA,
[00:27:32] half of the country.
[00:27:34] Right?
[00:27:35] Attacked Donald Trump supporters,
[00:27:37] calling everybody fascists
[00:27:39] and stuff,
[00:27:40] authoritarians,
[00:27:41] this,
[00:27:41] like,
[00:27:42] you guys don't get
[00:27:43] to walk this back anymore.
[00:27:45] You,
[00:27:46] this is who you have
[00:27:49] positioned as the enemy within.
[00:27:51] You are doing the exact same thing.
[00:27:53] I am applying a consistent standard.
[00:27:56] This is why I don't get outraged
[00:27:57] at all of it.
[00:27:58] This is the nature
[00:27:59] of the discourse.
[00:28:00] I wish it wasn't the case,
[00:28:02] but it is.
[00:28:03] And so now when Ben Rhodes
[00:28:05] says,
[00:28:06] hey,
[00:28:07] Joe Biden's not the nominee,
[00:28:09] like,
[00:28:09] yeah,
[00:28:09] we're aware Joe Biden's
[00:28:10] not the nominee.
[00:28:11] We all saw the coup
[00:28:13] that you guys orchestrated there.
[00:28:15] But,
[00:28:15] if we are not to attack
[00:28:17] Joe Biden calling,
[00:28:18] who,
[00:28:18] by the way,
[00:28:19] correct me if I'm wrong here,
[00:28:21] is he not still the president?
[00:28:23] I mean,
[00:28:23] in so much as whatever
[00:28:25] the handlers are,
[00:28:26] like,
[00:28:26] you know,
[00:28:27] doing
[00:28:28] to orchestrate
[00:28:29] what appears to be
[00:28:30] his presidency,
[00:28:31] but he is still
[00:28:32] the elected president.
[00:28:33] And he just called
[00:28:34] half the country
[00:28:36] garbage.
[00:28:38] And now your excuse
[00:28:40] in defense of that
[00:28:41] is that
[00:28:42] essentially
[00:28:43] is to cede the point,
[00:28:44] is to surrender the point
[00:28:45] and say,
[00:28:46] okay,
[00:28:46] fine,
[00:28:46] yeah,
[00:28:47] he said that
[00:28:47] and that's what he meant.
[00:28:48] But,
[00:28:48] Joe Biden's not the president.
[00:28:50] Or,
[00:28:50] Joe Biden's not running.
[00:28:51] But he's the president.
[00:28:53] He's already in the office.
[00:28:56] First of all.
[00:28:57] Second of all,
[00:28:57] if that's the standard
[00:28:59] that we shouldn't listen
[00:29:01] to what he's saying
[00:29:01] because he's not running
[00:29:03] for president again,
[00:29:04] even though he is the president
[00:29:05] right now,
[00:29:05] but he's not running again.
[00:29:07] Well,
[00:29:07] then how do you explain
[00:29:08] the now,
[00:29:09] I think it's day three
[00:29:12] of the faux outrage
[00:29:16] around Tony Hinchcliffe?
[00:29:19] Because that insult comic
[00:29:21] isn't running for president either.
[00:29:23] But you guys are making this
[00:29:25] into Donald Trump
[00:29:25] hates Puerto Rico.
[00:29:27] Well,
[00:29:27] Donald Trump didn't say that
[00:29:29] thing,
[00:29:29] but you're saying
[00:29:31] that it doesn't matter
[00:29:32] that the guy was at the rally,
[00:29:34] the insult comic
[00:29:35] insulted the island
[00:29:36] of Puerto Rico,
[00:29:38] and so therefore
[00:29:39] Donald Trump hates
[00:29:39] Puerto Ricans.
[00:29:40] Okay,
[00:29:41] your standard
[00:29:42] now applied to you.
[00:29:44] Joe Biden calls
[00:29:44] all Trump supporters
[00:29:45] garbage.
[00:29:47] That would obviously
[00:29:48] transmute
[00:29:49] over to
[00:29:50] Kamala Harris.
[00:29:53] I've also seen,
[00:29:55] where was it?
[00:29:58] maybe it was an email.
[00:30:00] Yes,
[00:30:00] from Allison,
[00:30:02] who says,
[00:30:03] supporters,
[00:30:03] and where the apostrophe is,
[00:30:05] comedians don't have supporters,
[00:30:06] they have fans.
[00:30:08] Well,
[00:30:08] see,
[00:30:08] now that would be the case
[00:30:10] if
[00:30:11] the apostrophe
[00:30:12] was at the end
[00:30:13] of the word.
[00:30:14] So if it was
[00:30:15] supporters,
[00:30:17] right,
[00:30:18] the little extra
[00:30:19] at the end there,
[00:30:20] because that's the apostrophe,
[00:30:23] because again,
[00:30:24] he said,
[00:30:25] the only garbage I see
[00:30:27] out there
[00:30:28] is his supporters.
[00:30:32] That would be an apostrophe,
[00:30:33] that would be S apostrophe.
[00:30:35] In other words,
[00:30:36] saying that the only garbage
[00:30:37] is Tony Hinchcliffe.
[00:30:39] But he didn't say that.
[00:30:41] He said,
[00:30:42] his supporters,
[00:30:43] his demonization
[00:30:45] of Latinos
[00:30:45] is unconscionable,
[00:30:46] it's un-American.
[00:30:48] He's talking about
[00:30:49] Donald Trump.
[00:30:51] So,
[00:30:54] I try to apply
[00:30:55] a consistent standard.
[00:30:56] The comment came
[00:30:57] in a video call
[00:30:58] with the progressive group
[00:30:59] Voto Latino
[00:31:00] when Biden wanted
[00:31:02] to respond to a comedian
[00:31:03] calling Puerto Rico
[00:31:04] quote,
[00:31:05] an island of garbage
[00:31:05] at Trump's
[00:31:06] Madison Square Garden
[00:31:07] rally on Sunday.
[00:31:11] Axios
[00:31:13] reports
[00:31:13] President Biden
[00:31:14] handed ammo
[00:31:16] to gleeful Republicans
[00:31:17] Tuesday night
[00:31:18] when he seemed
[00:31:19] to refer to
[00:31:20] former President Trump
[00:31:21] supporters as garbage.
[00:31:24] Once again,
[00:31:25] this is rule number
[00:31:26] two
[00:31:27] by the way.
[00:31:28] Rule number two
[00:31:29] in journalisming,
[00:31:30] which is
[00:31:31] when the scandal
[00:31:34] is
[00:31:37] involving
[00:31:37] a Republican,
[00:31:39] then the story
[00:31:40] is the scandal.
[00:31:42] When the scandal
[00:31:43] involves a Democrat,
[00:31:45] then the story
[00:31:46] is the Republican
[00:31:47] reaction to
[00:31:49] that scandal
[00:31:50] and that
[00:31:50] dovetails into
[00:31:51] journalisming
[00:31:53] rule number three,
[00:31:55] which is
[00:31:56] that you're
[00:31:56] supposed to be
[00:31:57] using the words
[00:31:58] seize or
[00:31:59] pounce,
[00:32:00] which you're seeing
[00:32:01] all over the place
[00:32:02] today.
[00:32:03] That Republicans
[00:32:04] are seizing
[00:32:04] on Joe Biden's
[00:32:06] comment
[00:32:06] or they are
[00:32:07] pouncing
[00:32:08] on Kamala Harris
[00:32:10] or the
[00:32:12] or the
[00:32:13] or the
[00:32:13] Biden comments
[00:32:13] seizing
[00:32:14] or pouncing.
[00:32:15] Use
[00:32:16] either one of them,
[00:32:17] but on second
[00:32:18] reference,
[00:32:19] much like on second
[00:32:20] reference to a fire,
[00:32:21] first reference is
[00:32:22] you call it a fire,
[00:32:23] second reference,
