Edwards' replacement, Cooper's cash, and maniac attacks women | Hour 3

How are you? I'm great, Pete. How are you doing? I am doing well. I'm doing well. So first off, let's start with a timely matter. The North Carolina District eleven Republican Executive Committee is going to be meeting tonight to name a replacement for the general election whose name will appear on the ballot instead of the now disgraced Congressman Chuck Edwards. So what do we know about this this meeting and the potential candidates. I saw Tim Moffatt pulled his name out of the running. He did state House represent Jennifer Balckenhall is stuffed up. She's also from the Henderson County and she's she put out a lengthy statement on Acts about that, saying that you know she's she's gonna go forward and put her name in for the nomination. Other names that have been thrown into the mix are past candidates for various offices, including NC eleven, which was Matthew Burrow. He ran in I believe in twenty twenty two, but lost in that primary, so he didn't make it to the November ballot. There's a guy named Ken McKim. He ran for state Senate in two thousand and six, way back, you know, like twenty years ago, and he personally ran for Congress I believed two cycles ago. And then there's Christie Slooter who ran for n She sent it forty nine, lost last year in twenty twenty four. Another name that got I saw floating around was Chad Nesbitt. He's the president of Skyline News on Nashville. No, don't get me started on Chad. Yeah, we have a history, but. It was absulted during the twenty twenty protest though that yes, but Adam Smith, the guy who was who primary Chuck Edwards for this current cycle, is put out a statement on Facebook is fairly long. In the middle of it says, I'm not gonna put my name in for the nomination. So that's odd. Yeah, I thought for sure like he would have. I think like the strongest argument to make in that he ran against Edwards but lost in the primary. So if Edwards now drops out, Adam Smith was the guy I think that he could make a pretty good case that like, Okay, well I tried to knock him off and I didn't in the primary, but now I can take his place. Great exactly, And that was that was my thinking. Initially when Edwards stopped out, I thought, well, you know, Smith was was a shoe in for that. And then you know, he was silent for a while and he wasn't answering any questions. And then late yesterday afternoon, I believe it was on Facebook he said, made this post. He said he's not going to do it. So so it's the meeting at six thirty tonight and it's probably going to take a while, so don't be expecting any news, you know, you know very quickly and when it does come out. I believe the n CGP has taken lead on this and they're going to drop a statement. So and I think you talked about this in one of your posts on Twitter about like what what they need, and it's so they need like they need fifty percent, right, one candid it has to. Get fifty vote, yeah, plus one vote. Yeah, so the people could be tied with fifty percent technically, but whichever one had one more vote than fifty percent. I guess that's how that works. We'll see. Yeah, I don't know. I wonder if they do a sort of you know, the top two would then go to like a runoff. No, man, I don't know if they put everybody on there, but all the nominations are made in the meeting, so there could be more names that get at it. Who knows, right, But those are the ones that I saw that were floating around out there and that I confirmed through other sources. So we'll see, we'll see what shakes. Out, all right, So that's tonight. Let's shift over to the US Senate race. You've got a post is this at? Yeah? This at North State Journal you're looking at Roy Cooper the money he has raised. He has pulled in about three quarters of a million dollars through joint fundraising committees with four Democrat US senators, Chris Coons, Mark Kelly, John Osoff, and Chris Van Holland. So I was unaware that these types of structures even existed. Is this normal? Yeah, No, it happens a lot. Actually, there they're committees where can it like co fund raised together. You know, they can share donor list, they can send out emails together. And I've seen a couple of them already coming from Cooper's campaign, and you know, when he was actually waiting for governor the second time, I saw some of those, and now I'm seeing them again with this race. And yeah, it's around six seven hundred and twenty six thousand dollars between August fish twenty twenty five and September twenty or not March twenty twenty sixth Sorry, the biggest amount was raised together with John osof out of Georgia, and he's that was three hundred and seventy six thousand dollars since August twenty twenty five. And the thing that makes that interesting is that he also received money from Reid hoff and both of them did readoff and the LinkedIn founder with ties to Jeffrey Epstein was the most interesting donor that I saw on the list. Wait, so Roy Cooper is part of the Epstein class. Well, apparently he got money from him. According to FEC filings and State Board of Elects filings, Hoffman had sent Cooper in his various campaigns at least twenty seven hundred or twenty eight thousand dollars. Yeah, I mean, Reid Hoffman spread so much money around these leftist organizations, it'd be hard to find any Democrat that probably hasn't gotten some financial benefit. Yeah. There was a Department of Justice letter that went to the Senate Judiciary last December that said that Hoffman had given over seventy six million to Democrats and related committees, including Democrat parties and committees near in North Carolina. All right, so does this bear any kind of aside from the obviously the financial support? Is there any I mean, is there any other benefit that these relationships have or downsides? Like do people know enough about like these fundraising structures that you can tie Cooper to these other can or these other senators and vice versa. Well, it's all the FEC filings, and it's in Cooper's organization statement finding. You can see all the co running fundraisers that he's got listed in there, and there's several of them. These are the ones that actually had names attached to them. And these four senators, you know, according to there's a site that ranks, you know, how progressive or how conservative people vote, and these are the four top progressives in the Senate right now. Roy Cooper has been trying to say that he's a moderate, so I mean there's a conflict there. But also Cooper's campaign filing showed one other interesting donation from a board member from Southern Poverty Law Center, which is now under federal indictment that organization, so that was interesting. Of course. You know, I reached out to the campaign to see if they had any comments about this or they wanted to talk about it, and I didn't even get a response. So well, you know what, maybe maybe another reporter that does get the invitations and access to his events, maybe some other reporter could ask about this stuff, because yeah, Roy Cooper fashions himself as this moderate and people who follow and have followed Roy Cooper know that, like he has vetoed some of like the more moderate things that the Republicans put forward that a moderate Democrat would actually support. Roy Cooper never falls in line with any kind of moderate Democrat voting record. He's always on the left, and so like, it's just this image that for some reason he has enjoyed, and for the life of me, I don't understand why he still gets that benefit. Well, what's interesting to me too is that in the last couple of days his campaign's been running an ad saying that the ads running against him and his criminal policies, his crime crime policies and things are false and they name these fact checks and it's it's really interesting that he's had the pivot to defending that. I guess the criminal side of the release of the forty prisoners that I guess that is gain interaction. Yeah, I mean, people are just now starting to pay attention to the election cycle, right, Yeah, most people are not like us. They're not following all of this stuff all year long. Right Yeah, Summer's coming to a close, and now they start paying attention. You got about two and a half months, three months before the election. Now people start kind of paying attention, and that's why, you know, you want to have all of this money, and that's why the money is important, which Wattly is apparently not raising nearly as much as Cooper is. But nobody's got a lot of outside bunny coming in from from you know, different packs in different sources like AFP, Americans for Prosperity Action, Senate Leadership Fund, and a couple others I believe. Also Speaker Johnson at the buck Cut event in out in Greenville last week, I asked him about, you know, the money coming into North Carolina for some of the congressional races and mentioned Elon Musk's pack, you know, was looking at dropping money into the congressional races here. And I don't wonder if maybe some of That's gonna end up coming Wattley's way as well. Yeah, all right, And last, you've got a piece over at more to the story about us the arrest of an illegal alien from Mexico here in Charlotte. He was in possession of a bunch of child sex abuse material, thirty eight year old Carlos Alonso Hernandez or Bena. And yeah, I'm not aware, I haven't seen this reported anywhere. Yeah, no, I didn't see it anywhere either. So that's why I did the story, because it should be out there somewhere. And this guy, you know, what's interesting to me is, you know, you look at the arrest records and first of all, it puts his races white. You know, how many times is this happening? And how is this affecting all the time. It's a standard. It's standard with our prison, with our local jail. It's clearly not why. But also I went into the e court system to see what else was in there because the current federal paperwork for the indictment and the charges against him, there a lot of that's redacted, but there were court papers filed already any courts, so I could see what kind of charges and what kinds of things were against him. So that's where I got that information from. But while I was in there, I also noticed that he had at least three other cases in there under various versions of his name, shocking different aliases and twenty twelve failure to produce a driver's license, twenty seventeen DWI Level four, twenty twenty three failure to produce a driver's license. Well that's probably because he doesn't have one, right, but nobody bothered. You know, they weren't checking his immigration history or anything. You know, nothing was done, so he just kept getting you know, turned back out there. Yeah. No, this is it's the catch and release turnstile. That is the Mecklenburg County court system. Yeah yeah, And this is why the state legislature I passed a law like Arena's law in order to force these courts to stop behaving in the way that they have been behaving in you know, Charlotte, but I suspect also up in Raleigh and then Erham and in Greensboro and in Ashville. US Senate race here in North Carolina. There was a related story from about two weeks ago, maybe week and a half ago or so over at note us dot org News of THEUS dot org, and they reported that the Democratic National Committee put its physical headquarters up for collateral in order to obtain a fifteen million dollar line of credit, which I don't think, Like, I'm not a financial wizard, but I don't think that's a sign of a healthy organization. If you're having to put up your physical headquarters to secure a line of credit. Why. To help invest in off year elections. The building, located at Southeast Washington and partially owned by the DNC, has been used as collateral in the past, including another election cycles. That the DNC had to do so again ahead of the twenty twenty six elections to obtain its biggest ever off year loan raised concerns among some members that it was further evidence of its intensifying financial strain. Over at town hall dot com, Joseph Chaufhant Chowfant points out that this is the largest loan the Democrats have ever taken during a midterm cycle, and the move has caused concern among Democratic leadership that DNC chairman Ken Martin could be running the group into the ground. The massive loan adds to the pile of debt that the DNC has already accumulated, as the organization was more than two million dollars in debt heading into the midterm cycle and has sixteen million dollars cash on hand. Republicans, they are actually seeing record fundraising numbers across the board, and they have one hundred and twenty eight million dollars, so they have ten times the cash on hand that the DNC has. Other GOP groups likewise maintain a massive cash advantage. For example, the Congressional Leadership Fund has fifty two million dollars more cash on hand than the House Majority pack that's the Democrats one. So the Republicans have one hundred and forty two million and the Democrats have ninety. The DNC is two point two million dollars in the red. DNC has one hundred and twenty eight million in the black. The nr SC, the Senatorial Committee, they've got fifteen million more cash on hand than the Democrats Senate campaign fund and the House fundraising arm. The NRCC they've got about fourteen million more cash on hand than the d Triple C does. This is not good for the Democrats, which is weird because we keep hearing about the blue wave. These numbers are already bad for Democrats, but pale in comparison to the sky high cash balance reported by President Donald Trump's pack, which reportedly has four hundred million dollars in the bank. So Trump's pack has more than both of the parties combined. He's got four hundred million. The RNC has won twenty five The DNC is. In debt like. But wait, hang on, there may be a bright spot. Ken Martin, DNC chair, said he's putting together a fundraising special committee. Yes, thank goodness, just in time. Good luck with that. Let me go back over to the text line, I have woefully ignored you for too long. I apologize. There's a stack of messages piled up in here. Ian says the dearth of DNC funding is one of the main reasons I am betting on a decisive GOP midterm win. That and public disgusted with Democrat overreach. I doubt the Iran conflict or Trump will be factors. That's a bold prediction from Ian. Jeff says, maybe the DNC should see if Kamala Harris has any of her billion dollars left to give back. That's I kind of feel like that was a story at some point. Wasn't it that she had raised all this money? But what was it? Did she blow through it all or she did not spend it all? But there was something about that. I'd have to go look it up. Yeah, So people were commenting here also about the last hour. We were talking about the working class zeros aka the revolutions leadership in the DSA, and yeah, people were not impressed with the audio they were hearing. Danny said, it's very very clear all of these DSA candidates graduated from the mainstream media university with master's degrees in gaslighting. Lloyd says, they talk about making housing affordable, do they intend to stop corporate housing who buy up all the houses and jack up rents and have also caused an insane rise in the perceived value of homes that are over inflated. We've talked about home construction and you know why it costs so much. And this goes I mean it goes to the things that people demand in homes. And nobody wants to hear this, but homes are bigger than they used to be. They have more finishes and appliances and features, but there's also about a quarter of the price of the home is basically regulatory. All of the stuff that the home builder has to do, has to comply with, like the building codes impact all. Of this stuff. So no, they don't, they don't answer the socialism. The communists solution is surprise, surprise, government ownership of the housing. That that's what the that's what they want to do. Beth's favorite Russ says, a DSA membership seems like something you should just be able to expropriate. It's not like there are any costs in their worldview, it's all just stuff that exists and is being unfairly withheld from them. Right Andrew says Bernie Sanders likely would have won the Democrat nomination in sixteen had Hillary not bought them off. The socialist takeover has been long underway, and Mike says after these activists take over a property, do they still expect the owner to keep up the maintenance? Yes, they do. How about abolishing taxes? Says Tommy does and Yankee Steve says, doesn't it amaze you that there are people sitting in that room nodding in their heads like this is a great idea. We're so smart, always the smartest ones in the room. I guess when you say the word right all the time, it makes you sound smart. Maybe, So. All right with ap Dylan, we were talking about the illegal alien that passed through our catch and release court system here, our turnstile court system in Mecklenburg. And surprise, surprise, we've had another maniac attacking women for no reason. And surprise surprise, he has a record. So this story went viral over the weekend as the video was published. Apparently this guy di Kwan Shaffar Hunt, thirty two years old, was out in front of he was over on East Boulevard, out in front of or near Paper skyscraper. Right. And so if you know this area, like. This is sort of your your old liberal Democrat stronghold over there, right, this is like East Boulevard, You got all these old mansions converted into you know, law firms and restaurants and stuff. And he's out there and he's live streaming some crazy, like literally insane rantings, and then he assaults two different women. A North Carolina career criminal. This is from the New York Post. A North Carolina career criminal is accused of randomly punching and hospitalizing a woman while chasing down another victim in a separate attack, as he posted the disturbing footage across social media. D Qwan Hunt was arrested Thursday evening for committing the alleged assault in a residential neighborhood on the four hundred block of East Boulevard. According to CMPD, police busted him when the department was presented with several videos on his social media page where the brute posted about his physical confrontations. Hunt was recording himself talking about a quote real issue that happened on July twenty first, when he crossed paths with the unidentified woman who was holding a get Well balloon, like one of those little look like a little plant, you know, like a balloon that you put in a plant, a little small get Well balloon, And he says to her don't wave to me. Now it's not clear whether she waved to him or anything, but that's what he said. And he then punched her and she goes down to the ground. He's five ft nine, two hundred and twenty pounds hovers over the motionless woman, screaming racial slurs at her because he's black and she's white, as was the other female victim, also white. He's screaming at her, You still talking, You still talking. Then he's like, say, Elijah, Elijah, my son, Like, don't the man's insane. He rips her broken sunglasses off of her face, kicks the balloon from her hand, and then he runs off. In a separate, undated video, he's ranting about McDonald's and he charges at another woman as she's walking on the sidewalk, and then she runs out into the street and is running around a car to stay away from him. Charlotte in the news again for a very similar kind of crime. All right. D Kwan Hunt, thirty two years old, arrested for posting videos of himself ranting insane rants and assaulting multiple women in on East Boulevard over a period of time. I don't know, like when, I don't know when all of the like the assault occurred I think on a Thursday, and then the chasing the woman around. She ran out into affect and is running around a car like that had stopped, and she's like just like keeping the car between her and I mean, very smart thinking, quick thinking on her part. You know, she ran away from him when he when he went after her, and she you know, jumped off the sidewalk into the street and there was a car there, and so she's running around the car to keep him on the other side of it. And he posted these videos. So as with the murder of Arena Zarutzka at the hands of another insane man. Now this story goes viral because you've got this video of this very disturbing random. Attack out of Charlotte. Like, guys, you know, leaders in the Mecklenburg County political establishment and the and the legal field business leaders, Like, do you guys understand the message that is going out about what you can expect if you move to Charlotte. This is not good for the city. I mean, just set aside. You know that the you know, the citizenry is terrorized and is victimized, right, just set that aside. If that's not you know, sufficiently moving for you, But think about the message that you are promoting to the rest of the country for people who may be considering, you know, moving here, setting up a business here, whatever, because this is now a pattern. This guy was taken into custody on an arrest warrant at about seven thirty pm on Thursday, according to the New York Post. Now this was interesting. I had not seen this in any of the local reporting, but they describe Hunt as quote a well known vagrant in the city. I wasn't aware he's a well known vagrant. I mean, I don't know know, like how you become a well known vagrant. I don't know any vagrants. I mean, I know the one guy that sits out at the corner that I pass on the way in. So maybe that's what it means by well known. I don't know. But he has been arrested at least nine times over the last thirty four months. His family had tried to get him involuntarily committed. This has been going on for like a decade, multiple arrests, violent behavior, family pleading for help. This is the same script in the De Carlos Brown Junior case. In fact, it appears the family were the ones that saw the social media post and told police, and that's how the cops went to get him. So thank you to the family members, and I'm sorry that the system that is supposed to be there did not help your family member. And I'm sorry to the victim.
