[00:00:28] Um, okay. So, the incoming border czar. Tom Homan had a message over the weekend for Democrat mayors and governors who are itching for a fight with him on deportations. And that message is...game on!

[00:00:47] Newsmax.com, piece by Sandy Fitzgerald, reporting, quote,

[00:00:53] Several Democrat governors, including Maura Healy of Texas, Gavin Newsom of California, and J.B. Pritzker, I guess of Illinois, have said that they will actively oppose the efforts of President-elect Donald Trump's administration to conduct mass deportations of immigrants in the country illegally.

[00:01:14] In addition, Denver mayor Mike Johnston this week told Denverite, which is a publication in, well, Denver.

[00:01:23] By the way, why Denverite? It sounds like a mineral, right? It sounds like a rock.

[00:01:31] A Denverite. Like some sort of a formation that you would find in a cavern.

[00:01:36] What about Denver-oan?

[00:01:42] Den-den-ver-ian.

[00:01:43] Denver-ian.

[00:01:44] Denver-ian.

[00:01:46] Wasn't that the...

[00:01:48] Wasn't he an actor?

[00:01:50] A dancer?

[00:01:51] Den-

[00:01:54] Anyway.

[00:01:56] So the mayor of Denver, Mike Johnston, told Denverite that he plans to send Denver police officers to the county line to stop federal troops from entering the city to enforce deportations,

[00:02:10] comparing the matter to China's Tiananmen Square demonstrations.

[00:02:16] And they so want their 1960s moment, their Selma moment, you know?

[00:02:23] So you're going to send...

[00:02:25] Well, wait.

[00:02:26] Do you have any cops left?

[00:02:28] Have you all defunded all of your police?

[00:02:31] No, that hasn't happened yet?

[00:02:33] Oh.

[00:02:33] Well, that's convenient then.

[00:02:35] Good thing you failed in that because you wouldn't have any of the police officers to go, I guess,

[00:02:40] get into a running gun battle with the U.S. military at your county line.

[00:02:47] He then walked back his comments, which is very un-Tiananmen Square-like, mayor.

[00:02:54] He walked his comments back saying that the comparison is an image I hope we can avoid.

[00:02:59] See, so when I was saying that this is what's going to happen, I meant like it's going to happen in a way that I hope it doesn't happen.

[00:03:07] Obviously.

[00:03:10] Still, Johnston said he is encouraging people to protest deportations in Colorado, but is willing to go to jail.

[00:03:17] Okay, you got me.

[00:03:18] All right, that's it.

[00:03:19] Stop right there.

[00:03:20] I don't even need to read the rest of the sentence.

[00:03:21] He is willing to go to jail.

[00:03:22] Take him to jail, guys.

[00:03:23] Just...

[00:03:25] He says he's willing to be imprisoned to stop any efforts from Trump that he thinks are wrong or illegal.

[00:03:32] Okay, well, they don't throw you in jail just because you're wrong.

[00:03:37] Right?

[00:03:38] I mean, if that was the case, the entire lineup at MSNBC would be in jail.

[00:03:43] But...

[00:03:45] Homan said that leaders must either help us or get out of the way.

[00:03:50] Quote,

[00:04:07] Later on in the story, Homan said,

[00:04:12] There's three routes that we are concentrating on right now.

[00:04:17] Number one, secure the border and shut the border down.

[00:04:21] Number two, do a deportation operation.

[00:04:26] And this would be a worst first focus.

[00:04:31] So you go after the public safety threats first.

[00:04:36] You go after the criminals.

[00:04:37] You go after the one million estimated, you know, criminal illegal aliens.

[00:04:43] The most violent, the most dangerous.

[00:04:45] You go after them first.

[00:04:48] Third, look for 300,000 missing children that this administration allowed to be trafficked into the United States and released to unvetted sponsors that they cannot find.

[00:05:02] So day one, this all starts.

[00:05:06] Homan added that Trump has made it clear that those immigrants who pose threats to public safety and national security will be the priority, along with those who are fugitives.

[00:05:18] Now, the mainstream media has been hammering Homan over these plans.

[00:05:23] And he told Newsmax, he doesn't care.

[00:05:27] He doesn't care.

[00:05:29] You go right ahead, do whatever you're going to do, say what you're going to say.

[00:05:31] He says, I'm doing this job.

[00:05:33] You're not going to bully me.

[00:05:34] You're not going to silence me.

[00:05:36] You're not going to make me go away.

[00:05:38] We're going to do this job.

[00:05:39] But Homan said he does think weekly press conferences from the White House will be needed to explain what is going on, including who is being arrested and what crimes they have committed, because, quote, the left is going to try to skew everything we do.

[00:05:57] Fact check true.

[00:06:00] Which is actually kind of an argument not to do the weekly press conferences.

[00:06:04] Do you remember COVID?

[00:06:07] Like, is Donald Trump going to come out during these press conferences, these weekly press?

[00:06:11] Is he going to come out?

[00:06:12] And is he going to say stuff, too?

[00:06:14] Because that might not be the best thing here, you know?

[00:06:19] Because he, like, because the way the media is going to react, I mean, these people are unhinged, right?

[00:06:24] You put Trump in front of them, and they're going to start asking him questions about stuff that's not immigration-related.

[00:06:29] And Donald Trump does not care.

[00:06:31] He's going to answer everything.

[00:06:33] He's going to talk about everything.

[00:06:34] And then he's going to just start riffing on stuff.

[00:06:37] And then they're going to be like, oh, my gosh, he said inject bleach into ourselves.

[00:06:41] You know, stuff like that all over again.

[00:06:44] But I understand, like, the benefit of doing a weekly briefing.

[00:06:48] Okay, you know, here are the criminals that we took off the streets.

[00:06:52] Like, our policy is working.

[00:06:54] I get the PR benefit of that.

[00:06:57] Holman said, quote, they're going to try to capture the first female or child crying during operations.

[00:07:04] And that's so true.

[00:07:05] That's going to happen.

[00:07:07] And then AOC is going to dress all in white.

[00:07:09] She's going to stand next to the picture and start crying again.

[00:07:13] Like, that's what we're going to see.

[00:07:15] Like, this is the playbook.

[00:07:17] We all know the playbook.

[00:07:19] They're going to make this sound like a racist, inhumane operation.

[00:07:24] I guarantee you, he says, this operation is going to be a targeted, a well-targeted, well-planned operation.

[00:07:31] And it's going to be humane.

[00:07:34] That is from Newsmax.

[00:07:36] Over at HotAir.com.

[00:07:39] A piece by Victor Joex.

[00:07:43] Or Yoaks.

[00:07:45] Or Yo-ex.

[00:07:47] Yo-ex.

[00:07:47] I don't know.

[00:07:48] He's a columnist for the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

[00:07:51] And his last name is J-O-E-C-K-S.

[00:07:56] Joex.

[00:07:57] So, otherwise, I would have thought that, like, wait a minute, is this like a pseudonym he's writing under?

[00:08:02] Like, his name is Victor Jokes?

[00:08:05] But, no.

[00:08:06] No jokes.

[00:08:08] That's his name.

[00:08:09] Okay.

[00:08:10] This shouldn't come as a surprise.

[00:08:12] During the campaign, Trump vowed to oversee the largest deportation operation in the history of our country.

[00:08:18] Many voters welcomed this.

[00:08:20] The millions of illegal aliens who entered the country since Joe Biden took office overwhelmed,

[00:08:26] even self-declared sanctuary cities.

[00:08:29] In several high-profile cases, like the death of Lake and Riley,

[00:08:34] officials believe illegal immigrants murdered Americans.

[00:08:37] A Venezuelan gang even took over an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado.

[00:08:41] But there weren't that many of them.

[00:08:43] That's not a big deal.

[00:08:45] There was only a couple.

[00:08:46] It was just a handful.

[00:08:47] It was just a handful.

[00:08:48] Remember that?

[00:08:49] From who said that?

[00:08:53] Drawing a blank.

[00:08:54] It was some legacy media anchor person.

[00:08:57] Trying to minimize that this was...

[00:09:01] Oh, it's not like they're eating the cats and they're eating the dogs.

[00:09:05] That's not happening.

[00:09:07] It's only a handful of apartment complexes that they've taken over.

[00:09:13] But Jokes goes on to say that the left's fear-mongering over Trump's deportation plans has already begun.

[00:09:20] Their first objection is that it's logistically impossible.

[00:09:26] Second objection, it's too much money.

[00:09:29] It's going to cost too much.

[00:09:31] And then another concern is it's going to hurt the economy.

[00:09:35] If we give up our indentured servants and slaves, then it's going to increase your costs.

[00:09:41] I hope you can clean toilets.

[00:09:44] And they think these are winning messages.

[00:09:47] We shall deconstruct them all.

[00:09:48] Stories are powerful.

[00:09:49] They help us make sense of things, to understand experiences.

[00:09:52] Stories connect us to the people of our past while transcending generations.

[00:09:56] They help us process the meaning of life.

[00:10:56] And that's K-A-L-I-N-E-R.

[00:11:01] I have a message.

[00:11:02] As a matter of fact, on the Twitter machine from Russ, who says,

[00:11:08] The Denver mayor is just another drama club kid that is looking for a moment of significance without ever thinking through what he is saying.

[00:11:17] We've got too much of that on both sides of our politics.

[00:11:21] Yeah.

[00:11:21] And look, I can say this because I took theater.

[00:11:26] I was a theater kid in like, oh, I don't know, fifth, sixth, or fourth, fifth, sixth grades, you know.

[00:11:37] Maybe seventh.

[00:11:37] I dropped out somewhere along the line.

[00:11:40] I don't remember if it was junior high or high school.

[00:11:43] And then I had to take a couple of theater classes as part of my mass communication broadcast degree at Winthrop.

[00:11:51] It was a required class.

[00:11:52] I think I had to take one.

[00:11:54] One or two.

[00:11:54] I forget.

[00:11:55] One or two.

[00:11:56] Of the theater classes where you had to be like, I'm an amoeba at a bus stop or whatever.

[00:12:01] You know, like, yeah, just silliness.

[00:12:05] But it does make sense.

[00:12:07] When you start seeing these, I think we were the only, like the mass comm department was probably because that's, you know, broadcast, marketing, and journalism all in one department.

[00:12:21] And I think, like, when they were divvying up the space in the buildings, they were like, who could we put with the mass comm people?

[00:12:30] Or probably, actually, now that I'm thinking about it, they probably were thinking, who can we put with the theater majors?

[00:12:38] Yes, they were kind of weird.

[00:12:41] Okay.

[00:12:43] Very goth.

[00:12:44] You know, they dressed in black a lot.

[00:12:48] Anyway, so they put us with them.

[00:12:50] And, yeah, we have too many theater kids.

[00:12:53] Too many theater majors.

[00:12:54] And I say this out of love.

[00:12:55] I love theater.

[00:12:56] I love theater kids.

[00:12:57] It's all great.

[00:12:58] But you guys, you should not be governing.

[00:13:00] Okay.

[00:13:01] Stay in your lane.

[00:13:02] Mock the governing class.

[00:13:05] You're supposed to be mocking them.

[00:13:06] Okay.

[00:13:07] We don't need you actually doing it.

[00:13:12] The fear-mongering over Donald Trump's deportation plans.

[00:13:16] Three general arguments, as outlined by Victor Jokes at the, what is it, the Nevada, the Las Vegas Review Journal.

[00:13:27] The first objection, he says, is that it is logically, or sorry, that it is logistically impossible.

[00:13:35] It would be very difficult to identify and move 15 million illegal immigrants out of the country.

[00:13:42] Yes.

[00:13:43] I agree.

[00:13:44] It's going to be difficult.

[00:13:45] But it is also hard to solve every murder case.

[00:13:50] That does not keep police from solving the ones that they can.

[00:13:55] This is the starfish on the beach.

[00:13:58] Right?

[00:13:59] This is a kid walking along the beach.

[00:14:02] And there are all these starfish that have washed up on the beach.

[00:14:05] And the kid picks up a starfish.

[00:14:06] And he throws it back into the ocean.

[00:14:08] Then he walks over.

[00:14:10] He picks up another one.

[00:14:11] And he's just throwing these starfish back in the ocean.

[00:14:13] And there's got to be, you know, tens of thousands, if not even millions of starfish all over the beach.

[00:14:20] And an old man sees him throwing these starfish back into the water.

[00:14:24] And he's like, you realize you're not going to be able to make a difference here.

[00:14:29] You're not going to be able to save all of these starfish.

[00:14:32] And he says, well, I saved that one.

[00:14:35] Right?

[00:14:36] Just because you can't do it all doesn't mean you shouldn't do any.

[00:14:40] So that's the first objection.

[00:14:43] Next objection.

[00:14:45] It's going to cost too much.

[00:14:48] Oh, think of the money we're going to have to spend.

[00:14:50] There is an element of truth here.

[00:14:53] It's going to cost money.

[00:14:54] That is true.

[00:14:56] Enforcing laws can be costly.

[00:15:00] Right?

[00:15:01] That's true.

[00:15:02] But as Blue Cities learned the hard way, the defund the police alternative is far worse.

[00:15:08] He goes on to say, you should never take Democrats seriously when they object to spending government money.

[00:15:15] Right?

[00:15:17] You can always tell.

[00:15:19] Right?

[00:15:20] You can always tell when you've run up against some sort of cognitive dissonance with the left when they start making fiscally prudent arguments.

[00:15:27] Arguments.

[00:15:28] We can't go into debt for this.

[00:15:32] Mm hmm.

[00:15:34] Another concern.

[00:15:36] Deporting illegals is going to hurt the economy.

[00:15:38] This, to me, is the most ethically challenged argument that I've seen in the entire illegal immigration debate going on 20 plus years now.

[00:15:49] And this is the theory that if you deport millions of illegal immigrants, that it would shrink the supply of low skilled workers.

[00:15:58] And that would force companies to pay higher wages, which would raise prices.

[00:16:04] And it might.

[00:16:06] It might very well do that.

[00:16:09] But look at the why.

[00:16:12] Look at the why.

[00:16:13] Why would it raise prices?

[00:16:16] Because illegal immigrants have artificially boosted the supply of people competing for entry level jobs and working in manual labor industries like construction.

[00:16:28] That has lowered wages for all low skilled workers because there's more supply than demand.

[00:16:36] And so when you have an oversupply, it reduces the price, in this case, the pay.

[00:16:43] Boosting those wages would actually be a good thing, even if it raises prices for those higher up the income ladder.

[00:16:51] Plus, removing millions of illegal immigrants would lower housing prices, too.

[00:16:56] Right.

[00:16:57] The idea that and then there's this other argument.

[00:17:00] Who's basically who's going to clean your toilets?

[00:17:02] Who's going to mow your lawns?

[00:17:02] Like, first off, me.

[00:17:04] Me.

[00:17:04] I already do that.

[00:17:06] Who are you talking to?

[00:17:10] You're not talking to me because I'm already doing these things.

[00:17:12] And the fact that you think everybody else is obviously doing what you're doing, that's pretty obvious that you're hiring illegal labor to do all the things around the house that you don't want to do.

[00:17:23] You will end up doing them yourself.

[00:17:26] It probably would be a bit of a character builder for you.

[00:17:29] Maybe you should clean your toilets.

[00:17:32] All right.

[00:17:32] Hey, real quick.

[00:17:58] Run the numbers with you.

[00:17:59] Again, that's Pete at the Pete Calendar Show dot com.

[00:18:02] A bit of the breaking news.

[00:18:05] The government has moved to dismiss the case against Donald Trump.

[00:18:11] This is the one.

[00:18:14] Well, I don't even remember which was Jack Smith's case.

[00:18:18] Because he won because he's now going to be the president.

[00:18:23] The filing says it has long been the position of the Department of Justice that the United States Constitution forbids the federal indictment and subsequent criminal prosecution of a sitting president.

[00:18:32] But the department and the country have never faced the circumstances here where a federal indictment against a private citizen has been returned by a grand jury and a criminal prosecution is already underway when the defendant is elected president.

[00:18:47] Confronted with this unprecedented situation.

[00:18:50] The special counsel's office consulted with the department's office of legal counsel or the OLC, which are whose interpretation of constitutional questions such as those raised here is binding on department prosecutors.

[00:19:07] After careful consideration.

[00:19:10] The department has determined that OLC's prior opinions concerning the Constitution's prohibition on federal indictment and prosecution of a sitting president apply to this here situation.

[00:19:23] And that as a result, this prosecution must be dismissed before the defendant is inaugurated.

[00:19:32] That prohibition is categorical and does not turn on the gravity of the crimes charged, the strength of the government's proof or the merits of the prosecution, which the government stands fully behind.

[00:19:46] Based on the department's interpretation of the Constitution, the government moves for dismissal without prejudice of the superseding indictment.

[00:19:54] All right.

[00:19:55] So that part is essential because dismissing without prejudice means they could bring it back.

[00:20:02] If it were to be dismissed with prejudice, then it means that Jack Smith is a bigot.

[00:20:11] No, it means that he would not be able to bring it back.

[00:20:13] Now, I guess the judge could say that he or she is dismissing it with prejudice.

[00:20:20] But that's what they're asking for right now.

[00:20:22] And in case you were wondering, they did first try to just hold it in abeyance to just kind of have it sitting out there just waiting on Trump to finish his four years.

[00:20:36] And then as soon as he's done, drop the hammer and pick the case back up again.

[00:20:41] But the OLC said, no, that's your that's the same thing.

[00:20:45] He can't be under indictment like that.

[00:20:48] So you got to start all over again.

[00:20:51] After.

[00:20:52] So they're like, we tried lefties.

[00:20:56] We tried, but we're not going to be able to do that.

[00:20:59] So it's going to be they are.

[00:21:02] They're making a motion to to dismiss without prejudice.

[00:21:08] So we can totally bring it back again.

[00:21:12] Let me get to some emails here regarding the illegal immigration issue.

[00:21:17] This is from Kevin.

[00:21:18] He says, I feel like it's an excellent idea to not go into those cities, the sanctuary cities and states that say they will not cooperate with ICE.

[00:21:28] Being sure to make it public knowledge that you're doing this.

[00:21:33] This will encourage illegal immigrants with a criminal record to go to those places.

[00:21:39] Right.

[00:21:39] Then just give it time and let that work its magic on the cities, drugs, crime, et cetera, et cetera.

[00:21:46] And then see how long it takes him to say, well, you know, maybe this wasn't such a good idea.

[00:21:50] Like what happened with Oregon making illegal drugs legal and then saying, oh, crap, we made a mistake.

[00:21:57] Like that is one way to play it.

[00:21:58] Right.

[00:21:59] Say, OK, all of you sanctuary cities.

[00:22:02] You will be true sanctuaries for all the criminals, the ones who have violent criminal records.

[00:22:11] They can go to your city.

[00:22:15] Chip says regarding what he calls Bile High.

[00:22:20] Denver, that's he says, I seem to recall Denver's newcomer communications liaison,

[00:22:28] on Andres Carrera being caught on camera last April suggesting to a group of migrants that they should go to New York or Chicago because they they can give you more stuff there.

[00:22:38] That Denver doesn't have any facilities anymore.

[00:22:41] So in your face, Denver.

[00:22:45] OK, wait, Kevin just sent me in.

[00:22:47] That's the same email.

[00:22:49] OK.

[00:22:49] Yeah.

[00:22:49] Outlook is acting up today.

[00:22:50] They've had a big problem with Outlook.

[00:22:52] Outlook has.

[00:22:55] So, yeah, that is that is correct.

[00:22:57] Denver was trying to tell all of these unauthorized immigrants to go to other cities because we're broke.

[00:23:04] We don't have any more room.

[00:23:06] Go to New York, who is like hemorrhaging money and, you know, diverting all sorts of funds from all these other programs and much to the ire and anger of New Yorkers.

[00:23:18] They're very upset about this.

[00:23:24] Pete.

[00:23:25] This is from Dennis.

[00:23:29] OK, I have a great.

[00:23:31] Wait, I have a great name.

[00:23:34] Trump could call his new deportation program.

[00:23:39] How about drumroll, please?

[00:23:43] Oh, sorry.

[00:23:44] Hang on.

[00:23:44] He wants a drumroll.

[00:23:47] How about.

[00:23:51] Rawhide.

[00:23:52] With Tom Homan on a horse shouting, head him up and move him out.

[00:23:57] Even with a few word changes, the theme song could add further motivation.

[00:24:02] No.

[00:24:03] They got to name it something.

[00:24:05] It wouldn't be a government operation if they didn't have a name for it.

[00:24:08] Right.

[00:24:09] They always name these operations.

[00:24:11] Now, for folks who may not be aware.

[00:24:13] I after I get done with my show on Fridays, I hang around or hang over with Brett Winterbill.

[00:24:25] He does the three to seven shift here at WBT.

[00:24:30] And so we we've been doing this now for, I don't know, a year or so.

[00:24:34] And he calls it the Friday hangover.

[00:24:38] And it's it's a lot of fun.

[00:24:39] We just kind of we make jokes and just shoot the breeze.

[00:24:42] It's very tongue in cheek kind of stuff.

[00:24:45] I don't know.

[00:24:46] It's just it's the way it's just the way it happens.

[00:24:50] And apparently I have in my Friday appearance, I have prompted some people to have some questions

[00:24:59] about my understanding of geography and my expectations for Trump's second term.

[00:25:07] I got a message here from Robert on the Twitter machine.

[00:25:10] It's a Pete tweet who said Robert says he was horrified, horrified when the curmudgeon.

[00:25:19] Pete Callen.

[00:25:20] Wait, curmudgeon.

[00:25:22] I am not old enough to be a curmudgeon.

[00:25:27] I feel like curmudgeon is like 60, 65 and older.

[00:25:32] I think that's curmudgeon territory.

[00:25:35] Modern day, because I know like back.

[00:25:37] Back probably in like the 50s, 60s and 70s, people just looked older back then.

[00:25:43] So I think you could be a younger curmudgeon.

[00:25:45] I don't think I reject curmudgeon.

[00:25:51] But Robert is horrified that I did not know Vienna.

[00:25:57] Which is not true.

[00:25:58] I said I knew Vienna.

[00:26:00] That's the Billy Joel song.

[00:26:02] And then I said, I think I may have even mentioned the sausages.

[00:26:09] But Robert has been to that region.

[00:26:11] The food was better in Italy than Austria.

[00:26:15] Beautiful mountains, cold.

[00:26:17] Cheers.

[00:26:18] So, no.

[00:26:20] I said that I did not know where Vienna was because I'm an American.

[00:26:25] And as an American, it is our birthright to not know geography.

[00:26:31] It's right there in the Constitution.

[00:26:33] It says it right there in the Constitution.

[00:26:35] You do not need to know geography as an American.

[00:26:39] Look, you don't have to believe me on this.

[00:26:42] Go look at Trivial Pursuit, which is like the most authoritative thing next to the Constitution.

[00:26:47] And Trivial Pursuit, when originally created, it had a category that was geography.

[00:26:54] And they got rid of it.

[00:26:56] They got rid of it.

[00:26:57] And they put in a wild card category with, you know, brain busters like whose motto is make a run for the border.

[00:27:06] Right?

[00:27:07] The answer is not Venezuela, by the way.

[00:27:09] That's Taco Bell.

[00:27:12] But true story.

[00:27:14] They swapped out geography, giving further credence to the constitutional provision that we don't need to know geography.

[00:27:23] So I believe that's what I was saying on Friday.

[00:27:26] In a completely serious manner, obviously.

[00:27:30] And then I got another message here about the appearance.

[00:27:35] Where did I go?

[00:27:36] Come on, Microsoft.

[00:27:37] Get it together.

[00:27:39] Landon.

[00:27:41] Landon says, please explain Friday's hangover.

[00:27:45] I cannot.

[00:27:45] It's an enigma.

[00:27:47] But that was the subject line.

[00:27:49] But the body of the email says, you know I love you and your show, but your comments to Brett Wintable for the Friday hangover were alarming.

[00:28:00] If you don't think the Trump administration will accomplish anything, why did you vote for him?

[00:28:05] Okay, so there are two parts to this.

[00:28:07] Number one, will Trump accomplish anything?

[00:28:11] And I said, I don't have any expectations that he's going to get any of these things accomplished.

[00:28:16] I said I would be very happy if he got one.

[00:28:18] I have a very low expectation.

[00:28:20] And I explained that, and I think I've done it here too, on a couple of occasions where I don't believe that going in as a lame duck, that he is going to have a lot of time.

[00:28:32] Because the natural, and I could be completely wrong on this obviously, but the natural timeline is in the lame duck second term of a president, they only have about a year and a half before midterm elections come up.

[00:28:48] And you get all of these members of Congress that you need their support to move legislation through or to not block stuff.

[00:28:59] And they start now looking at their own midterm election prospects.

[00:29:04] And if you're trying to do radical things or you're trying to do stuff that they think these members of Congress think might hurt them in their reelection effort, they will then stymie that.

[00:29:15] So you have a compressed timeline.

[00:29:17] And then after the midterms, usually the party in power loses control of the Congress.

[00:29:23] And so now you can't get anything done because you don't have any majorities in the House and or Senate.

[00:29:29] That's just the historical trend.

[00:29:31] It could go differently this time, no doubt.

[00:29:34] It could definitely turn out different.

[00:29:36] But that's why I look at you've only got like a year and a half to do this stuff.

[00:29:39] And these are very big things.

[00:29:41] Very big things.

[00:29:43] The other side of it is that Democrats are already putting up obstacles.

[00:29:49] And I talked about this on Friday during my show, which was some of the obstacles that they're doing, that they're erecting before Biden is out.

[00:29:57] They're going over different types of executive actions.

[00:30:00] They're looking at getting as much funding out the door, you know, attached to programs.

[00:30:05] So then they so it can't be clawed back.

[00:30:09] The money can't be clawed back.

[00:30:10] And at the very least, it creates these obstacles in the courtroom.

[00:30:17] So now the lefty groups, these NGOs, these states, these attorneys general in the Democrat states, they can now start suing.

[00:30:25] And that just slows everything down, too.

[00:30:28] That's why I said I don't have high expectations that Trump is actually going to get a lot of this stuff done.

[00:30:34] I hope I'm wrong.

[00:30:36] But I don't.

[00:30:37] But I just I don't have high expectations because he's only got four years.

[00:30:43] It's a second term.

[00:30:45] He's going to be a lame duck.

[00:30:46] That is not an indictment on Donald Trump.

[00:30:51] So.

[00:30:52] That was the first part.

[00:30:53] The second part is why did I vote for him?

[00:30:56] I voted for him.

[00:30:58] I wrote a whole op ed about it.

[00:30:59] I covered it many, many times.

[00:31:00] I voted for him this time as a protest vote against the media.

[00:31:06] Which has nothing really to do with whether or not he's going to be able to get stuff done.

[00:31:10] But the media is also going to try to stymie him, too.

[00:31:13] So I hope that answers the question.

[00:31:14] All right.

[00:31:15] That'll do it for this episode.

[00:31:17] Thank you so much for listening.

[00:31:18] I could not do the show without your support and the support of the businesses that advertise on the podcast.

[00:31:23] So if you'd like, please support them, too, and tell them you heard it here.

[00:31:26] You can also become a patron at my Patreon page or go to the Pete Calendar show dot com.

[00:31:32] Again, thank you so much for listening.

[00:31:34] And don't break anything while I'm gone.
