Let's talk a little bit about political violence. I'm sure you have heard over the last week and a half, two weeks or so, since the assassination of Charlie Kirk, we've been getting a lot of the whataboutisms from the media and the Democrats. But I repeat myself, and they've been waving around various reports and studies that show right wing violence is way more prevalent than left wing violence. Right. So, now I have compiled, let's say, here, one, two, three, or five reports on why those studies are crap, because they are. If you actually go into the methodology and you look at the way the studies were compiled, how the data was used, you realize very quickly that they were juiced. The stats are juiced. So, for example, Tim Krney at the Washington Examiner, he says, it turns out that if you count the J six riots but not the Black Lives Matter riots, then the right is infinitely more violent than the left. That's a pretty good way, right of counting stats. If you're looking to pad right wing violence, you count every arrest connect did to J six, and you ignore completely the entire summer of fiery but mostly peaceful rioting and looting, because that was for social justice that wasn't really tied to the left. Right, after Charlie Kirk was murdered, liberals rushed to deny that left wing political violence is a problem and claim that the real problem is right wing domestic terrorism. At their disposal, Democrats in Congress and the media had multiple studies supposedly proving that right wingers are responsible for many times more political killings, attacks, and hate incidents then left wingers as well as Islamists combined. Actually, if you combine the lefties and the Islamists, you put them together, it's still not as much. Okay, So there are four studies that they've been relying on. They purport to count and compare extremist or political violence by the different sides. We'll take a look at them. The first problem that you have to overcome is what actually counts as extremist violence and political violence. That's a judgment call in a lot of these cases, right, because who's really motivated by ideology over madness? For example, out over insanity. Some calls are pretty easy, to be sure, but on the tough calls, the researchers aired on the side that would support their ideological prior suppositions. So, for example, you've got the most egregious one is the Prosecution Project that is the brainchild of University of Cincinnati Assistant Professor Michael Lodenthal. Loadenthal is a left wing academic. One of his papers is titled Operations Splashback Queering Animal Liberation through the Contributions of neo insurrectionist queers. That's one of his papers. He sees his job as inculcating a quote decolonial framework into his students thinking Queering the Nation is another way he describes his life's work. Oh, also, he is explicitly pro violence. His central goal is to quote advance the argument that violence as a response to colonialism is not just expected, but it is just that's the prosecution project. I'm going to get into the data too. Then there's the Anti Defamation League the ADL, run by Jonathan Greenblatt, a former political appointee of Barack Obama. Under his leadership, the ADL has ventured far away from its purported aim of fighting anti Semitism and has become more purely partisan and ideological. For example, they petition the courts to force the Little Sisters of the Poor, which is a bunch of Catholic nuns, to violate the consciences their conscience and provide contraception coverage to their employees. And then there was the Cato study done by a libertarian to be sure, but on immigration stuff his main concern, and that's his main concern, he says. And the guy's name is Naaratseh no Rasteh. Anyway, he describes himself as a globalist and elitist. He describes himself as that, and he often ends up on the Democrat side of things in the era of Trump because of the immigration stance that Trump has. So if you go through let's take the ADL first, you go through their methodology. They don't claim to be tracking political murders, but murders by people associated with a variety of domestic extremist movements. Okay, now that may sound like a thin distinction, but it actually matters a lot. A political murder, for example, would be the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Murders by people associated with a variety of domestic extremist movements, well, that's a larger category. So for example, if a KKK member murders his wife, that is a murder by a person associated with a domestic extremist movement, and that gets counted in the column for the right wingers. It turns out this sort of a political murder by extremist associated people is a massive portion of the ADL study. Any kind of a crime committed by anybody with clan tattoos, they get lumped in with the right, even though it could be a domestic call. It has nothing to do with political ideology. The Washington Post columnist Megan mccardal deconstructed the ADL study and suggested that ADL overrepresented white supremacist killings. Violent criminals in prison have incentives to join gangs, which are usually if the TV shows and movies are any indication right. They're usually along racial lines. Those who join the white gangs, they get the tattoos, then they leave prison, and then any violent crime they commit afterwards counts as right wing violence. ADL includes plenty of non ideological yet extremist associated killings. They say that extremists may commit a murder, the motive for which is never revealed. We include all these types of killings in this report, So even when they don't know the motive, they still throw it into the right wing category. Half of the killings that they tracked over the last decade are non ideological and those are disproportionately classified as right wing killings. And there's more. It consistently tosses ambiguous cases when they don't have any information, they throw them in with the right wingers too. And then there's the stuff that they don't include it all. Like, for example, Daryl Brooks, black guy, budding rapper, drove a car into a Christmas parade in Walkshaw, Wisconsin, killing six people and injuring dozens. He was a supporter of BLM. Facebook profile had a whole bunch of racisty stuff all over it. Where did this BLM supporter murdering white people show up in their study. It did not. It is simply never mentioned. Or how about the twenty eight year old woman who identified as a man who went into the Christian school and killed six kids? Not in the report either, not left wing violence. You see, right, this is the pattern. This is replicated in all of these studies, the same sort of methodological corruption. There's another study csis they excluded violence at protests, but they did make an exception for that rule and included the Charlottesville protests. Right. Violence at BLM ignored, violence at Proud Boy protests counted. Likewise, riots excluded except for one January sixth. See, you only get this if you dive into the data, if you go and look at their source material and their methodology. And when you start looking at that stuff, you realize very quickly that they've got a massive thumb on the scale here. You know. Stories are powerful. Visit creative video dot com breaking down the stats. Breaking down these studies claiming most political violence's right wing brought you Tim Carney's breakdown from the Washington Examiner. Here's David Harsani at The New York Post talking about the ADL's most recent murder and Extremism in the US survey. They claim there were thirteen murders motivated by extremism in the country last year. Eleven of them. They say eleven to thirteen committed by right wingers. Okay, if you actually look at the incidents that they cite as being committed by white supremacists or far right anti government extremists, virtually none of those incidents actually have any political motivation. The list includes murders that occurred during attempted prison escapes that's not a political motivation, a sex crime, a robbery, a family squabble. None of those have anything to do with furthering the tenets of white supremacy, or actually any cause. In one of these supposedly right wing extremist incidents, the police have yet to find a motive at all for the homicide. The only characteristic that qualifies all of these acts as right wing is the perpetrators being identified as possible white supremacists, which is usually because they've got tattoos. And I already went over that with the prison connection. One of the eleven murders classified as right wing on the list. Sorry, one of the eleven murders that was classified as right wing on the list was the perpetrator clearly inspired by ideology. One. On the other hand, the assassination of Brian Thompson, the CEO of United Healthcare that was explicitly ideological in nature. The shooter wrote an anti capitalist manifesto, So you would think, well, that would be equal then one for one. Right, if we're taking a body count here, then that seems like that would be a one for one comparison. Yeah. No, the ADL did not characterize the murder of Brian Thompson as a left wing attack. It did not include it in its list of extremist murders at all, didn't even make the list. The most famous example is the Global Terrorism Database, which is widely used by the researchers who compile these reports, which counted the Las Vegas mass shooter who murdered fifty nine people back in twenty seventeen. We still don't know anything about that guy or why he did it, but he's labeled as an anti government extremist. In truth, we don't know what his motivations are, unless, of course, the Global Terrorism Database somehow got some inside information from the FBI. Of the thirty two other incidents that the organization labeled as right wing terrorism that year, twelve were merely suspected of being on the right because they were white, even if the ADL's list is more accurate. It is worth noting that a gang member with a swastika tattoo might be a right winger and often violent, but he is, despite the contentions of the left, ideologically miles away from popular conservatism. Right white supremacists are not conservatives. They're not the leftist who assassinated Charlie Kirk Harbard ideas that were not alien to the average progressive. No honest person contends that right wing extremists don't exist, or that all progressives are accessories to violence. But it's plainly obvious that groups like the ADL have concocted misleading reports to smear the right and hide their own sides increasing radicalism. Next the federalist Beth Brelgi. She talks a little bit about the prosecution project here. And remember the guy Michael Lodenthal, openly anarchist, anti affiliated researcher at the University of Cincinnati, who, by his own admission, is a far less far left, violent extremist. He admits this, So he's the researcher, He's the one that compiled the study. Do you think he may have a bit of a bias when creating the I idea that there is this massive number of right wing violence versus left wing violence. Let's see here. The Prosecution Project lists January twenty twenty four charges against John Reardan of Massachusetts, who made anti Semitic threats against synagogues and the Israeli Consulate. It notes, influenced by events in Gaza. He also said, you do realize that by supporting genocide, that means it's okay for people to commit genocide against you. That's what the That's what the person said. The DOJ never identified his political affiliation, but the Prosecution Project's own accounts seemed to indicate he was a pro Palestine fanatic, which is not a cause of the right wingers, but they put him in the right wing camp. The group also lists twenty twenty two Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act charges against mean Edmi Schavanis. This was abortion clinic protester, but she was found not guilty on that one charge, but they put her in the list anyway. They included the posting of racist stickers as if that's comparable to terrorism or violence. Comb through the data on their website and you soon conclude it's worthless to everyone except a leftist propagandist. I mentioned the cat excuse me, the Cato Institute. They're study by Alex noratsa debunked last week by Amber Duke at The Daily Caller. He claimed politically motivated violence is rare in the US, but that when it happens, right wingers are more often to blame than the left. If here's a big if. If you exclude nine to eleven, which why would you do that? Oh? Also you exclude injury, property damage, and people who were not killed. So his criteria excludes the two assassination attempts on Donald Trump, for example. He a Duke Also Amber Duke at The Daily Caller also found that some of the crimes that he blamed on the right were at best questionable and at worst just flat out wrong. I am through three. I have two more to go. That tear apart these quote unquote studies stick around. Bain says the skewed counting of right wing violence reminds me of the counting of COVID deaths. If somebody died of cancer but had COVID cause of death listed as COVID. Now that's a fair point, right. It's lies, damn lies and statistics. You always have to look at the methodology on these things. This story from The Washington Examiner by Mia Kathel or Kethel cathl Anyway, Cato Institute. According to the data set, right aligned actors are responsible for six times the total number of deaths compared to the perps on the political left. The figures, however, leave out thousands of fatalities from nine to eleven, treating the mass casualties as an outlier, because otherwise they would quote dominate the data and obscure other trends. There's too many deaths linked to the Islamists, and so when doing this survey or study on ideological inspired violence, we have to take that out because we don't need that obscuring the real picture. But another large scale terrorist attack does get counted by CATO. Do you know which one? It was Oklahoma City bombing nineteen ninety five, one hundred and sixty eight people murdered by a white supremacist. So if you're going to you know, not factor in nine to eleven, if you like, that's going to skew the numbers eighty So if you if you factor it in, eighty seven percent would account that would be eighty seven percent of the politically motivated violence would be Islamist eighty seven percent. But you take it out, and now Islamism's tally goes to just twenty three percent. And here's the other impact is that it then skews the numbers of right and left because you've taken out this large data set, and so that inflates the radical rights murder record from eleven percent when you take into account nine to eleven, and then it zooms up to sixty three percent more than Islamists, which is stupid. The research is ideological definitions of what constitutes right or left wing radicalism place involuntary celibacy in cells. Have you heard this? In cell? It's online subculture primarily sharing misogynistic views. They put that on the right. Problem is that a twenty twenty two University of Texas pull of in cell identifying participants and asked about their political orientation. Forty five percent considered themselves to be on the left, thirty nine percent said right, eighteen percent said centrist, but in cells get all lumped into the right. The studies list of killers categorized the Antioch High School shooter as right wing, but that shooter was a black seventeen year old identified as in cell expressed anti Semitic, nihilistic, and occult beliefs. The guy who shot up the two spas in a massage parlor in Atlanta, which refronts for prostitution. He was ashamed of his sex addiction. He was not of the right and the data timelines also go back to nineteen seventy five and So what happens then is that you cut out all of the far left violence like the Weather Underground and their bombing of the US Capitol and Set seventy one, the bombing of the Pentagon in seventy two, and itt Incorporated in nineteen seventy three. Right, all of that stuff gets chopped out, big old finger on the scale. So when I was a kid, my grandpa died with Alzheimer's, and before he died, my mom and my dad took care of him as he got worse. Final segment of the program for this week, and that means we pregame for the weekend. And here is Brett Winterbal. You can hear them here three to six every day WBT Brett Winterble. How are you sir? I'm doing great? How are you? I am doing great as well? Great? Awesome, great? Hey, so did you know that Jim Comey's son in law was on the prosecution team in the Eastern District of Virginia. Did you know that? I did not until this very moment. Jerry Dunleavy reports that his son in law was on the prosecution team handling the Cambi indictment. He was in the courtroom last night when the indictment was returned, just before he resigned after his father in law was indicted. Well, I mean, look, this is tough, isn't it. His sister that's also Wasn't she a high high profile lawyer? Yes, I mean, look, this is this is a little bit a little too much of the you know, NEPO stuff going on here. I mean, does everybody have to work for the federal government. I don't understand this. I think no. Well, I think it is. Actually it's in the city charter in all of the towns around d C. Yes, I think it. In order to buy a home, that's the pricing structure too, right, they pay everybody in the federal government a huge amount of money, specially only they can afford the exorbitant price tags on the homes. I'd like to bring in Bob Muller to co sign on my mortgage at this stake, no, he. Is no longer. I don't think he is able to sign anything due to his mental incapacitation. Oh, now, so you bring up the auto pen. Yes, I brought up. I brought it up. What did you think? Have you? I'm sure you have. You've seen the wall of presidents, the gallery or whatever that they set up of the photos of all the presidents. They've hung them in the white or it's actually like it's one of the porticos or something maybe yeah, Rose Garden or something. And and the photo that they have of Joe Biden is an auto pen. Yeah. I think I think it's funny. I mean it's it's obvious. It is funny. It's obvious. And if you turn the other side of it, because they have, you know, they have a they have the ability to flip it over. On the backside of the auto pen is Al Gore as the president. Oh interesting, I thought you're gonna I thought you were gonna say doctor Jill. No, no, her and her work husband. I don't like the work husband thing and the work wife thing. I don't. I don't like that culture that exists really in the Yeah, I think it's weird. I really feel like it's a weird thing to talk about, like, hey, that's my work wife, Hey that's my work husband. So I look at it like this. I've talked with my wife about this very thing, and I actually support this notion. So but I mean, obviously it's not an actual marriage. It is a it's an alliance because here, and here's the key is that the women will be able to go into spaces that only women are in and men the same thing. You must be brave and so so if right, so if like your your work wife were to go to the restroom, for example, and all of the ladies are in there and they're talking about stuff that's work related, that is then intel that you would be able to get that you otherwise would not be able to get. These are all okay, fine, I'll accept the objection. That's it, right, But like that's it because yeah, because like you got to have allies, you know, Yeah, particularly if you're working in a you know, politically charged environment, you got to have people that you trust and you can share information with, you know, so. You know, you know what, though technically speaking, because of all the time you and I spend every week, we could technically be each other's, uh, we're husbands. We're husbands. Okay, I'm I'm the Pete Booty gig and you would be you would be. No, but I'm sorry likes no that that that gig has already been booked. So there you go. I mean, that's see what I did, spun it around on you. There we go. All right, that'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening.
