Debunking David from California | Hour 2

This episode is presented by Create A Video – In the first hour of the show today, caller David from California made a slew of accusations without any supporting evidence. So, I fact-checked two of them. And it turns out David didn't know what he was talking about. Plus, more on the Michigan meltdown.

All right, so to reset, I took a call. uh, from David, uh, and call screener Lonnie informed me that David self reported that he was from California, which that explains a lot. Uh, David, please entertain the thought of moving back to California where you can be surrounded by more people that think like you do, but in all seriousness, um, If you're listening, David, you have been the victim of what we call a psy-op, a psychological operation, okay? You've been propagandized to. And I can tell you this because two of the things that you mentioned in our conversation, I went, during the break, I went and found them. So the first thing that you brought up was Trump and the way David told it, and I'm sure this is what he thinks in his mind, right? That Donald Trump had all of the people at this convention, swear an oath to cheat in the election, right? David believes that that's what it sounded like, that David believes Donald Trump had everybody take an oath to cheat. So I went and found the audio clip and, I have it here. We'll take a listen because I feel like much like the quote, good people on both sides thing. I feel like maybe David, if he hasn't actually heard the clip or seen it, um, if maybe he's just reading it or he's just watching a little snippet of it from the late night talk show circuit where they, you know, edit things to make them sound like what David heard. That's intentional. That's why I call it a SIA. They're propagandizing to you, David. They want you to believe that Donald Trump literally had people take an oath to cheat in the election. Okay. Now, I'm going to play for you the clip, and I would submit to you that this may be a joke, which is what I thought it sounded like when David first said it. Because after watching Donald Trump for a decade, I got a pretty good read on when he's being funny, when he's joking. People on the left, they don't have a sense of humor any longer, and so they have a hard time detecting humor. That is what Donald Trump, I believe, is quite clearly doing, which is what I assumed he was doing when David told me about this. So here's the clip. We want honesty in our elections. We want honesty in our country. Hang on a second. You want honesty in the elections and in the country? Well, then why are you telling people to cheat? Why are you making them swear a blood oath to cheat if you want honesty? It's weird. It's almost like that's the setup for what comes next, almost. So please raise your right hand. I pledge. To the greatest president in the history of the United States that loves us so much he can't even breathe. This sounds like a legit oath, right? That I will go out with my family, my friends. I'll do it anyway. I don't care if I'm registered or not. I'm going to try and cheat like hell like they do. I'm going to try to cheat like hell like they do. Does any of it... Do you think this is a legitimate oath? Do you think that's what he's doing here? Or. Do you kind of feel like what I feel like, which is I kind of feel like this is a joke. Kind of feel like that. Again, I've only been watching him in the public sphere for about a decade. I kind of feel like we should all understand what he's doing when he does this stuff, but apparently not. There's never been bigger cheaters. I don't care. I am going to go out and I'm going to get my friends, my family, and we are going to vote on November 3rd, or we are going to vote before that. Right? Okay, ready? Ready? Here's the way you're, okay, are you ready? Look, front row Joes, are you ready? The great, oh, look at them. The great ladies of North Carolina. It's about number 300 rally. I don't know how the hell they do it. They are beautiful. Okay, are you ready? Ready to finish the pledge. So we swear that on November 3rd, we are going to go out and vote. And you know what? If you want, you can vote Democrat, but I don't think there's one person in this room that's going to vote Democrat. I don't think so. So I don't have to preface. I don't want to waste the words. Vote Republican. Just go out. If you vote, you're voting Republican. Okay. So help me God. Yeah, that sounded like a legitimate thing, right? Yeah, that's... Gosh, I can't imagine. I can't imagine why people didn't take that seriously. Very bad. Next. Next. The blackmailing of a Supreme Court justice. I kept asking him for evidence. What is the evidence? And he mentioned something about Neil Gorsuch with a cabin that isn't worth any money, but some people bought it from him, right? Okay. Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch had a 40-acre tract of property that he co-owned in Granby, Colorado. Nine days after he was confirmed to the Supreme Court, They got an offer on the property. The chief executive of Greenberg Trowrig, one of the nation's biggest law firms with a robust practice before the high court, Gorsuch owned the property with two other individuals. Greenberg's Brian Duffy put under contract the 3,000 square foot log home, a 3,000 square foot log home, which remember David said, it was like some little shack, 3,000 square foot log home. on the Colorado River, nestled in the mountains northwest of Denver. He and his wife closed on the house a month later. They paid $ 1. 8 million for it. Gorsuch, who held a 20% stake, so he wasn't even the full owner, he owned a 20% stake, and he reported it. He disclosed it on the federal disclosure forms that he made between $ 250, 000 and $ 500, 000. It's a range, okay? but he did not disclose the identity of the purchaser. Since then, Greenberg Trowrig has been involved in at least 22 cases before or presented to the court. They include cases in which Greenberg either filed amicus briefs or presented parties or represented parties. In the 12 cases where Gorsuch's opinion is recorded, he sided with the law firm clients eight times and against them four times. not, that is not a great blackmail operation just for the record. Okay. In addition, um, oh, then there was another multi-state, uh, thing over the clean air act, blah, blah, blah. Um, there's another party. Oh, here it is. Duffy who bought the house, who in addition to serving as CEO of the 600 lawyer litigation department said he has never personally argued cases before Gorsuch or met him socially. He says, I've never spoken to him. I've never met him. Once he learned Gorsuch was among the owners, Duffy said he cleared the sale with his firm's ethics department. There you go, David. There's your story. There's your... What the.... That was weird. I don't know what happened there. Like, that's... That's the blackmailing of the U.S. Supreme Court, which, by the by, has not ruled in Donald Trump's favor on some key cases, angering the president. Again, worst blackmailer ever. But see, in David's mind, this is true. If he can imagine it to be, then it is. This is fable-ism. You're just... You're just constructing fake stories, fables. in your mind. I'm not saying everything Trump does is above board by any stretch. I'm not saying that. However, why not focus on the things that you can actually prove, you know, especially if you're going to call a radio show. Pete, please play Trump's speech on the air. If that guy thinks this was serious, he should be committed. Right, we did play the audio. Where is David going with this? Nobody knows. Nobody knew. 803 number says, holy cow, this guy votes too. Unfortunately, that's why it's important. Gotta go cancel his vote out. Mike in Monroe, now Mint Hill, says, what on earth is this guy talking about? I'm not sure. Rodney says he is laughing his butt off at David. Blue Anon has gotten wild, says Jason. Gary says, OMG, this guy makes Alex Jones look normal. Where does he get his fan fiction from? Well, he gets the... like PBS, NPR, the late night talk shows, right? These longtime institutions that boomers grew up with that they trust and they just keep shoveling the same crap to them. So this is what he believes is true. Uh, that guy that's asking all these questions. He sounds drunk, says Michelle. Um, Alan suggests maybe early stages of dementia. Um, I wonder if he's– okay. I'm not reading that, Kirk. Somebody give David directions to the No Kings group over on Hawthorne Lane and 7th. I'm sure he's well aware of where all the No Kings rallies are. Kevin says David's exactly what is wrong with the Democrat Party. Complain. Um, but never no answers or examples. Yeah. Just proof, just evidence. What is your proof of that claim? That's all I was asking him. Um, Jimma says, David has the playbook right in front of him. Sad. David, you poor old fool. Get back to the home before they lock the doors. Okay. Uh, free wheel says David's tinfoil hat is a bit too tight. Um, Dave says, I just checked in his convention speech. He urged folks to grab their families and friends and get out and vote. You're right. We played the clip. It's amazing what can be done with this statement out of context. 704 says, thanks for taking us into the abyss that is the mind of that poor man. The Democrats and the media, but I repeat myself, can marvel at how successful their brainwashing efforts have been. Beth's favorite Russ says, God bless you, Pete. Caller David is a heck of a way to kick off a Monday. It is indeed. 828 number says, wow, this David guy is an idiot. He seems to just be spewing Trump hate rhetoric. Yes, this is when I say that Donald Trump has broken people's brains. This is what I mean. David is an example of that. Everything is viewed through this prism, you know. Epic dumbassery. He needs to install another layer on his tinfoil hat, says Scotty. And then he makes a prediction that the polls are BS. GOP is not going to lose anywhere near the seats we've been told to expect, although I do think our good friend Ray is going to win here. And so the Democrats' liberal meltdown will be of gargantuan proportions. I'm almost willing to put money on it. Ralph says from the people of common sense, David is banned until 2027 banned from the show. No, I'm not going to ban. No, I like, I, I want to hear like, what are your arguments? What is your proof of your claim? This is basic logic, basic rhetorical debate. You know, like I want to hear the argument and then I want to hear the evidence that supports your claim. And of all the things to attack Trump over, those were the weakest things. Steve says, I'm going to go out on a limb and say I think Dave believes in conspiracy theories all day long and you actually enjoyed that call. That is true. I did enjoy the call. Again, people ask me this. Do people think that the cat is annoyed with the ball of yarn? No, the cat's having fun. Dan says, Pete, Ronald Reagan was right. They know so much that isn't so. Yes, that was the famous Reagan line. Jeff says, I have to say, I don't think I have ever heard you get that frustrated with a caller before. You were pretty fired up. I'll have this day forever marked on my calendar. Oops, I mean calendar. You're no longer called the good Jeff. Jeff, I'm changing your profile name. Um, we all know David's not the only one. Uh, that's true. Elise says, Pete, I was the one that just sent the video of president Trump asking for the pledge. I forgot. You don't click on links. Uh, yes, you can see that he's kidding, right? It is quite clear that yes, Trump is riffing. He's joking. He fancies himself a standup comedian, the funniest guy in the room. And truth be told, he is pretty funny. He's just very deadpan in his delivery like that. But he is a pretty funny guy. And I know that that just angers people on the left. He can't be funny. He's Hitler. I don't know if Hitler was funny or not. Well, I don't think Hitler really had a sense of humor. But I don't know. I've not reached the age when I just automatically start becoming very interested in all the World War II history stuff. I think it happens around age 55 or something. And it's just like your biology kicks in and then it's like as a dude, 55, you have to now like learn everything about World War II. I think it's science. All right, real quick. All right, one last text here from Russ who says, to be fair, Pete, I think we get to choose between World War II and ancient Rome, but you must pick one and go super deep into the topic. I think I would choose ancient Rome because I feel like I can probably read the language better. I just add like thus to the end of every word or EOS or something like I U S I feel like the Germans too long. Like they got, like they just keep adding different components onto every word. It's just silliness. And they always sound angry whenever they're speaking, but I digress. So let's get back to what we were talking about in the first hour before David so rudely interrupted, um, about the Michigan meltdown, because the Democratic Congresswoman Haley Stevens, who barely lost to Abdul El-Sayed in the Democrat primary, she came out and endorsed Mike Rogers. According to Politico, she was told to stay away by the Abdul El-Sayed campaign. She was told she's not invited to this church event that they were doing over the weekend. Like we don't want you around. That's what they told her. We don't want you. And so she said, fair enough. Okay. I'm endorsing Mike Rogers. Like to me, It's pretty clear what happened, right? When you're cozying up to these Muslim Brotherhood types and your pals are all saying really anti-Semitic things and you've got, I think her fiance is Jewish, I believe. But Abdul El-Sayed's got problems in the electorate in Michigan. She is not the only Democrat that has broken ranks. There's an entire group called Democrats for Rogers, for crying out loud. Right. The brush off capped a day. This is on Saturday, I believe, capped a day of the two lobbying increasingly pointed statements back and forth at each other, frustrating Democrats who say the infighting risks imperiling a state the party can hardly afford to lose as they try to flip control of the Senate. but she said she expected the Democratic nominee to apologize for some of his past comments and condemn an advertisement that was run by an outside group supporting him that she described as anti-Semitic, because it was. The ad featured a conversation in a grocery store where a woman told a man that they couldn't buy eggs because they had to set money aside for killing Palestinians. Like, I have the ad here. Hang on. Like, it's this... ostensibly husband and wife you know wearing flannel shirts you know true working class types that are just trying to get by and let's see here i have the end here. It is. We get all the sandwich stuff for the kids lunch i don't like turkey anymore yeah. I know what about the bananas yeah i got them too but honey what you're gonna have to put those eggs back. I don't like eggs anymore No, they like eggs, but we have to set that $ 7 aside for killing Palestinians. What? I mean, don't we give Israel $ 4 billion a year anyways? Yeah, and now we're giving them another $ 26 billion. Do you know how much that is per American taxpayer? No. It's like $ 161 per person. Apparently it's costing us a lot of money to drop bombs on Gaza. That's terrible. Yeah. Don't they get universal health care too? Yeah, they do. We're paying for that too, probably. Might as well put the bananas back. Why the f * * * do we have to pay for all this? Don't cuss at me. Why does Mike Rogers care so much about what Israelis want and so little about what you want? Mike Rogers is for they-them. Abdul and Syed is for you. By the way, the they-them thing they showed pictures of Benjamin Netanyahu and some other Jewish leaders. Get it? Your, your, your eggs cost $ 7 because of the Jews. Like this is what Cenk Uygur, that sweaty, uh, anti-Semite, that's, that's the ad that he put out for Abdul El-Sayed. By the way, eggs don't cost $ 7 anymore, guys. I don't know what kind of eggs you're buying or how many you're buying. Like that, I buy the eggs in our household. I can tell you they don't cost $ 7, okay? And we get like the humane certified ones. So she, Haley Stevens, wanted Syed to condemn this ad. Spoiler, he would not. Now, the campaign put out a statement that was like, no one speaks for Abdul except Abdul, which isn't really a condemnation. So Stevens responded by saying, OK, you don't want me around your campaign. You don't want my help. OK, I am endorsing Mike Rogers. And outrage ensues. The Michigan Democratic Party chairman, Curtis Hertel, said Congresswoman Stevens is not a current member of the Michigan Democratic Party, nor will she be in the future. A contributing writer over at The Atlantic, of all places, James Kirchick, said, oh, so the Democratic Party can expel anybody it wants to, huh? Well, what have they been waiting for with the DSA? It's a very good question. So the thing that you said you can't do, you know what I wonder when I was reading this story this weekend? You know what I was wondering? I wonder what my good friend Ray thinks about all of this, because you remember Roy cut him loose. Cooper was asked about a month ago about the rise of the DSA inside the party on an undercover video at one of his gatherings. I don't call them rallies because there's like 40 people there. That's not a rally. Okay. And he was asked by an undercover reporter what he thought about the DSA's influence inside the Democrat party. And he said, we're a big tent. He wants to hear all the ideas, right? Okay. Well, big tent, Ray, where do you stand on Haley Stevens here? Because, like, she's now being savaged. Her fellow Democrats are out there like, oh, you know, I think she's gone a little crazy. That's what they're saying. It's been very tough for her. And so, yeah, she's, she may need to like go seek some help. Like people are saying you need to go check into some mental health clinic and whatever, like go the Tallarico route. I'm sorry. That was okay. Several house Democrats say they support removing her from the democratic caucus after she endorsed Republican Mike Rogers in the Michigan Senate race, eight house Democrats have privately real, real, uh, Real courageous activity here. Privately, they've told Politico they want Stevens out for her to be punished by leadership somehow. She also was removed from a series of House Democratic member group text chats. So they kicked her out of the group chat. Representative Mark Vesey, Democrat from Texas, who's retiring, said that Stevens' actions were beyond the pale for a Democrat. Now, mind you, all of these people were telling Republicans that they need to put country over party when it came to Donald Trump. But when it comes to a woman simply saying, you know what? The Muslim Brotherhood guy, he's like, that's probably a bit too far. I can't endorse him. And he doesn't want me to have help with the campaign. He's shunning me, whatever. So you know what? I'm going to endorse this other guy. That's too much. There is another option. the civil war, right? So it's world war two, ancient Rome or the civil war. And I got a message like, yeah, you don't see, um, you don't see anybody, you know, doing reenactments of Rome. Well, I mean, outside of like the Toga parties. So that's true. Um, Paul says, could you remind us of the evidence to claim that Abdul is in the Muslim Brotherhood? I can't seem to find any proof of that. He says he's not in the Muslim Brotherhood. He just is supportive of it. And if you go back, go to thepeatpod.com. I believe it would have been not this past, not a week ago Monday, but the prior Monday, I did two hours going through all the evidence. Brad says I was a little shocked by Roy Cooper's latest ad when did he start impersonating the smoking man from the X-Files oh that's so true he does look like the smoking man from George dear Miss Stevens vote for who we say or you are a threat to the democracy that is that's the message From the defenders of democracy, you have to vote for the Islamist adjacent guy. Isaac Shore, New York Post columnist, He said what makes this so powerful is that she didn't want to do this. Her career in democratic politics is now over. She previously backed Abdul El-Sayed, but he couldn't meet her minimum standard, which was relatively flexible. Abdul and his enablers, looking at you pod bros and bulwark grifters, Abdul and his enablers did this to themselves. And Isaac Shore is exactly right. This was not Haley Stevens doing this. This was a response to the way that these people have been behaving and the things that they have been saying. Pradeep Shankar, who is a contributor to National Review, he says, just so you understand liberals, this is a message to the left. MAGA looked at Mitt Romney, John McCain, and Liz Cheney exactly the way you are looking at Haley Stevens tonight it's exactly the same and all the spin in the world won't change that Stephen L Miller from the spectator not the guy from the administration says the discrepancy today has been extremely revealing. It went from country over party to she should be committed. She's only doing the bidding of her Jewish husband. Oh, and I think she's having an emotional mental breakdown. Longtime leftist writer for various blogs and publications named Wajahat Ali. He says, if, God forbid, Abdul loses, this will be a watershed moment in democratic politics. The fire will rise. It's over. People will be radicalized against corporate pro-Israel Democrats. I kind of feel like you already did that, but okay. There will be a reckoning. If, when he wins, it will be a watershed moment. Wait, so they're both watershed moments? Wait, so whether he wins or loses, it's both? Like, either way, it's a watershed moment? And that reckoning will still come. Huh. So kind of like a jihad? Is that what you're saying? Like no matter what, you're still going to do the reckoning in a watershed moment and it doesn't really matter what the person does? Mark Hemingway says, nothing forms an electoral coalition quite like Islamist threats. And then there was Neera Tanden, Hillary operative for many, many years. Was she with MoveOn? I think she was with MoveOn.org. She said, standing with Mike Rogers is a betrayal of everything Haley Stevens has fought for her entire career. It's also a betrayal of all her supporters that believed in her. I hope Abdul El-Sayed has a strong victory and that all Democrats and like-minded independents support to vote for him, which is a bit of a different tune for Neera. Way back in October of 2024, not sure who was alive back then, but she said at that time, this is a good time to reach out to Republicans in your circle of friends and family. Share what Liz Cheney said. Country over party. Converts welcomed, not shunned. This is a big tent trying to bring us together, not drive us apart. Oh, what a difference it makes when it's a member of your party. that can't get on board with somebody because they don't believe they are espousing the values of the party. Then, no. But if it's a Republican, Liz Cheney, saying the same thing, she can't go along with her party nominee, then it's country over party. Welcome them in. Oh my gosh, this is fantastic. It's almost like they didn't really mean it. All right, that'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening.
