So, the suspect in the murder of Charlie Kirk has been captured. He was apparently taken into custody. Yesterday. There was a news conference. We carried it live here on WBT at the time. I've pulled one chunk of audio that we'll listen to. It's from the governor, Spencer Cox, who closed out the comments before they turned it over for Q and A. He closed out the comment portion of the news conference with I thought a very powerful and well said close. So we'll take a listen to that. It runs about nine minutes, but it's well worth your time. And before I get into some of the details that we do know that came out of the press conference, I want to start with what the reaction has been on the left. We heard some of these arguments articulated yesterday from about four or five different callers to this show, and they all followed a sort of similar pattern, which is, I'm not saying he should have been killed, but like, that's the framing that the left has been using when they are not out right celebrating, And there was a lot of it. There has been so much of it that now the right has engaged in a cancelation campaign against every single one of you, sacks of turds, all of you right. If your response to somebody being murdered is to celebrate because you disagreed with their politics, you are broken. You are a broken person. There was a wave of celebration by leftists, I mean boldly, unabashedly, unembarrassingly posting under their own social media profiles, and it was so overwhelming. There were so many of them racing to the keyboards or to their phones to express how happy they were that Charlie Kirk was murdered in front of his three year old daughter, his one year old son, and his wife, as well as thousands of his fans. They loved it, they loved it, and so conservatives, even normies. I mean, that's the thing. Charlie Kirk was like, he was as kind of a normy conservative as you're gonna get in the content creation space. And so conservatives, young people, fans of Charlie Kirk, people who are on the left too, are liberal, but are repulsed by what they are seeing. They've begun identifying people and asking their employers do you want this person working for you, which, of course is now prompted. Oh my gosh. I thought you guys were against cancel culture and against cancelation campaigns. We were, Yeah, we were, And then you guys set a new rule and we all were living under your rule, and we were the ones getting targeted. We were the ones that I have been a target of this. You know, Leftists don't like something that I say, and so they they try to, you know, target advertisers, try to get me fired, send messages to the boss, to the management, to the owners of advertising, the companies that advertise. And that's always been the playbook from the left since I've been in radio. That's that's pretty standard. But then they expanded that with the rise of social media. They expanded that to destroy anybody on social media that did not fall in line. And of course the whole point of that is intimidation, much like swatting, sending swat teams to your house under fake nine one one calls, if it's not an outright attempt to murder you, to have the cops murder you. And that's what I think you should be charged with. And I still don't know why we don't have swatting laws with severe punishments, like I mean, it's an attempted murder. That's in my view. I would love to see legislation. I would like to see that codified in law. But even if you can't, even if they can't get you killed, the idea is to scare you to the point that you will shut up. It's why they post your address, your home address. Had that happened to me. I've had that happen to me so many times, I don't even know how many anymore. And it's intimidation. It's an implied threat. They walk a line. That is what was what one of them said to me after the big blow up with the UH. The the woman that she was it wasn't it was with the ACLU, and she was a formerly incarcerated, or as I call them, fips. She was a FIP and the ACLU, I think it was Yeah, They were like, we need to know her lived experience her truth, and so they put her on their payroll as like a lobbyist or something, and she was just a vile, nasty, destructive, and threatening individual. They eventually cut her loose after she came after me with these types of attacks using homophobic and racial slurs, and then we would get messages like touch one, touch us all, or something like that. In other words, it's a threat. It's if you say anything about her, I'm gonna come kill you. Oh and here's your address and a picture of your house. So we were getting that this is how the left operates. And so now you're getting your rules, you're getting a taste of your own medicine. But here's the difference. Whereas you want to target me because I'm a conservative libertarian, I don't even know anymore, right, but I don't agree with leftists. I'm anti communists, and so you want to come after people like me. You want to attack me, threaten me, intimidate me, try to shut me up. But you celebrate murder, which one creates a more hostile work environment. Seriously, if you have to sit next to somebody at a cubicle, you got to work with somebody at the office or wherever, and you get a choice between somebody who disagrees with your politics and somebody who is happy when people who agree with you are murdered, which is a greater threat to you, which creates more of a risk in your workplace. So you actually have a credible complaint. One are the other things Chris Ruffo noticed this, as did I. The number of people celebrating Charlie Kirk's murder are well, the population, let's say, is it appears to be overrepresented in the categories of certain professions. Number one that I noticed there are an awful lot of educators quote unquote. Why is that? Why would that be? Why would there be so many teachers and professors and people who work for the school systems. Well, why are they like all over the place celebrating this murder? And what are they teaching kids? And what if they know that kids in their classroom liked Charlie Kirk. If you're a kid in a class and your teacher is doing touchdown celebrations on TikTok, that Charlie Kirk was murdered. What kind of an education do you think that teacher is giving you? Is it like the education that the shooter got? Because that's what it looks like. Guy got radicalized while at college. That's what it looks like. I don't know that to be true yet, but that's what it sure looks like at this point. Psychologists, social workers, these what Christopher Ruffo calls helping professions. Why are there so many people from these helping professions, these professions of kindness? I'm not buying that you're kind Actually, game on Week one starts now, and every touchdown brings you closer to a payout. So go to WBT dot com, register your appointment and come on out and say hey, all right, So the cancel campaign that's going on right now going after people who have been celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk. And maybe maybe five years ago, six years ago, seven years ago, I would I would be saying like, no, no, no, we shouldn't be doing this. People like it's wrong when the left does it, and we shouldn't be engaging in the same sort of thing. But see, that's the thing, guys. When you set the new standard and you enforce that standard with ferocity, you cannot be shocked when your opponents adapt and play by that new standard. And that's what we're seeing. And we've got to We've got examples here locally, they're all they're happening. It's happening all over the country, these people who come out and feel comfortable enough to revel in the murder, the assassination of an innocent person. Charlie Kirk was innocent of anything that warrants the death penalty. You may not like what he said, you may not like him, you may think he's a horrible person. And here's the thing, I don't care you don't get to murder people because you disagree with them. That is a complete breakdown of the society. So here is U, Charlotte Mecklenberg's school board member District one. She actually on the Yeah, she is on the she's on the board now, I believe. And she posted up onto the Facebook. Her name is Melissa Easley. She says, here's what I'm going to say today. Just stop, just stop, like you didn't need to do this. It's amazing how many people are lighting their careers on fire over this. Now, maybe she thinks she can say this sort of thing because she's a Democrat, and that's a democrat privilege right there is you get to say crazy things like this and it doesn't affect your electoral prospects. You don't get shunned in polite and civil society. She says, here's what I'm going to say about today. Politically motivated gun violence is not okay, no matter what side you are on. That is the disappointing part. And I am saddened that this was yet another political issue that caused a death. It wasn't a political issue that caused a death. It was the fomenting of hatred for one's political opponents, fellow Americans. There has been a stoking of hatred. It has been going on for years against Republicans, whether it's the depiction of Paul Ryan throwing an elderly woman off of a cliff. What do you do to somebody like that? Think about that? What do you do you see somebody murder an elderly woman? What is the punishment for doing that? Right? You keep on amping up, amping up, and then of course it hits the crescendo, or not even because it still goes. It hasn't stopped. It's like it kept building and building. Donald Trump wins, you get Kathy Griffin with her, you know, severed head of Donald Trump, and you get all of this violence, fetish porn that the left is just stewing in. Then of course you have the rise of the Antifa, with the Black Lives Matter riots, mostly peaceful, sometimes fiery riots, and the looting and some much. So. She goes on to say, but do not expect me to feel sorry, pity or mournful for the man that has gone around saying I or my spouse are abominations. I don't believe he ever said that he was an opponent of gay marriage, though, so I guess too easily. She's now the victim. I'm the victim from him not agreeing with me on gay marriage. You're not the victim. This is the narcissism of the left. I'm so freaking sick of it, this tendency for interpersonal victimhood. That you are constantly viewing yourself as the victim of violence because somebody disagrees with what you think. You have a different opinion. It's not violence, you deranged person on the school board who, by the way, he is a former teacher and cannot spell the word pity. What the hell? You are a member of the school board. You are a teacher and you spell pity p T t y. You know that Facebook gave you an autocorrect suggestion on that What the hell? Sorry? A little fired up, she says that he's gone around saying I are my spouse or abominations, that we are mentally ill, that we don't deserve the same rights as everybody else, that Charlie Kirk has never said there are different rights for different people. He has never said that. In fact, he's argued that we all enjoy equal protection under the law, and he says, Remember, according to Charlie Kirk, it's okay to sacrifice a few for your Second Amendment rights, which is of course the clip that's been taken out of context by people that never listened to anything Charlie Kirk ever said in their lives. But somebody on a lefty TikTok channel whent and found a clip, dare i say, selectively edited it to make him sound like he's saying something that he's not. They did the same thing with the the he Semitism charged that. Oh, by the way, the New York Times promulgated and then of course had to issue a correction because that wasn't true. He was restating a position in order to dismantle it. But they took his restatement as if it was his statement, which it wasn't. All right, you hear me talk a lot about incentives, right, Well, let's talk about incentive trips, the kind that companies offer employees to fire them up and reward their teams. If you own a business or you work somewhere that offers these incentive trips, first off, good for you, but also there is a custom app that's a game changer for these trips. It's called incentive trip Kit. Private group messaging, shared photos, your itinerary, travel details, all built into a single, easy to use app. There's even a traveler locator, so Carl from accounting doesn't get left behind. The best part about incentive trip Kit it's totally private. No email captures, no sign ups, no cringe ads. It's simple, clean and secure. And when the trip is over, incentive trip Kit turns those highlights into a professional storytelling video. So think about it. When you launched next year's incentive trip campaign, that video becomes your greatest motivator. Talk about a return on investment. Right, You got to check out incentive trip Kit for your business. Visit incentive tripkit dot com because great trips deserve even better returns. All right, let me go over and I'm gonna play some soundbites here, but i'll get on Mike here first. Hello, Mike, Welcome to the show. Hey Pete, how are you? Hey? I'm all right, what's up? Good? The comments that were made by the school board member, one I don't agree with them, and two I think it some people might focus just on per comments and that's not what I think is the gentleman that was assassinated was talking about. I don't think he was trying to pick one sin and just focus on that, because sin is sin no matter what it is. He was just trying to get people like that that school board member to be able to sit down and talk intelligently and calmly well. And also he was also proselytizing because this issue came up. There's a pretty famous exchange that he had with a college kid, and he talked about the stoning of the woman the prostitute, right, and he told the story you know that Jesus said he without sin cast the first stone and that so that was mercy, but it wasn't just mercy people like to drop off. The second part of that was that Jesus, yes, said but you know, he without sin cast the first stone. So he steps in to provide the mercy. But then he also tells her truth, which is what now go and sin no more? Right, Like That's so it's not just a simple thing like oh, just you know, don't cast stones, right, but also then don't go sin anymore. And for a Christian, that's what he's all. That's also part of his message. Yes, exactly. I used to have discussions with people that I disagreed, that disagreed with me, and I would just say that, hey, your argument is not with me, your argument is with God, right, because it wasn't Charlie's idea, it wasn't our ideas. It's in the infallible word of God. So I hope that her comments don't try to rob people of thinking that that was the only thing that he was focusing. Well, that is her attempt. Obviously, that is her attempt. And there are people on the left that have never heard Charlie Kirk's comments or seen his videos and listen to full debates. What they're going off of our little clips that leftists are circulating in order to try to build a case as to why this guy deserved to be murdered in cold blood. That's what they're doing. It's the same thing they did with Luigi Mangioni in trying to justify his actions in the cold blooded murder of the United Healthcare CEO as well. So, Mike, I appreciate the call, buddy, thank you, good to hear from you. Have a good weekend. Yeah, take care. Feat Here is a clip from a guy named Zach Hoyt. He goes by the online name of Asman Gold. He's a YouTuber, content creator, online streamer, now more recently a political commentator. He used to primarily focus on video games, World of Warcraft and such, but now he covers politics as well as video games and topics related to gaming culture. And there is a story in the from the gaming world. Here it is there is a developer called Sucker Punch Productions, and they are getting ready to release a video game. It's a sequel, it's called Ghost of Yotai. And apparently one of the developers of this game went online and was celebrating the murder of Charlie Kirk. And here's what Zach Hoyt said on his YouTube channel. This is again another person who is celebrating this type of violent behavior. And I think that again people need to make their voices known and make them heard that this is just simply not acceptable. This is not normal. This is not what average people want. We don't want to have people that are openly making statements and calls to violence like this, or celebrating calls to violence or actual violence like this, making our products. It's disgusting. And I know that some people would maybe consider and say, well, this is something that could be a little bit like cancel culture, and I want to say that it absolutely is one hundred percent. Is the fact is that these are the same types of people who would lie about you and make up things about you and try to destroy your career and destroy your reputation for disagreeing with them on something political. But now whenever it's happening to them, they're the victims. Well, if you want to be the victim, it's time to earn it. I think. Also, here's another thing is that if you work at one of these companies and you have one of these individuals that works at your company, you do have a recourse to this, and that's calling and talking to HR. Because the fact is that HR does not operate in your best interest, and it doesn't operate in their best interest either. It operates in the best interest of the company. And when you have people that are making public statements and calls to violence and celebrating violence like that, they're creating a hostile and an unsafe work environment. And anybody who works in HR, or anybody who works inside of any sort of corporate environment will tell you that that's something that just can't exist in the corporate environment. There's a reason why we have levels of decorum, and there are some levels of HR that makes sense. And so if you work at one of these companies and you have a person like this doing it, make sure to talk to HR and let them know how uncomfortable you feel that there's a person who's working at your company who might want to advocate to have you killed because you disagree with them. Tell them that it makes you afraid to come into work. Tell you that, tell them that you know, you don't know, maybe you're going to file a lawsuit. You feel unsafe at your workplace. And honestly, here's the important thing. You should feel unsafe because these people would justify violence against anybody who disagrees with them. And just because you think you know them doesn't mean they wouldn't do the exact same thing to you. And this is them. This is the game that they're making right here, and you can see that they've made no statement about this. Now, let me ask you a very simple question. If these people made a degrading comment towards the trans community, for example, or towards the black community, for example, do you think Sucker Punch would have immediately fired them and made a statement I think so absolutely. But for some reason, these people are protected. And the reason why they're protected is because there's a lot of other ones at the company that feel the exact same way that they do. That's the only logical reason that I have, And I think that at a certain points, Sony or somebody needs to step in. Whoever owns this company needs to step in and root out this disease before it kills the entire company, because I do think that it will have a tremendously negative effect on the game. Yeah, it already is. People are demanding refunds for their pre order sales or yeah, they're pre launch sales. So it is already affecting the game. So when I was a kid, my grandpa died with Alzheimer's, and before he died, my mom and my dad took care of him as he got worse. Forty years ago, there were no treatments and not much support for caregivers and family. Things are different today because of the work of so many people, including the Alzheimer's Association of Western Carolina. It's a great organization with awesome people with huge hearts. I've been a supporter for twenty five years. This cause means a lot to me. I participate in the annual Walk to end Alzheimer's and I'm leading a Charlotte team again this year and it's called once again Pete's Pack. You can sign up and you can join the team and walk with us. It's on October eighteenth, that truest field. Sign up at alz dot org slash Walk and then you can search for my team name Pete's Pack. There's also a link at thepetepod dot com. There's also a link in the description of this podcast. Also, I'll be am seeing the Gastonia Walk on October eleventh, and so you can make a team and join that one too, or make a donation and help me hit my goal of five thousand dollars. If you do, I really appreciate it. There are a bunch of other walks all over the Carolinas. You can go to alz dot org slash Walk for all the dates and locations. We're closer than ever to stopping Alzheimer's. Can you help us get there? Will you walk with me? For a different future, for families, for more time for treatments. This is why we walk. A tweet from Fisher King, who says destroying the lives and careers of people celebrating this political murder is essential. The people doing this have participated in canceled culture but never felt it. They need to feel it. They need to know what it's like to have a mob ruin your life. Lake Norman Charter School fired or sorry, put on administrative leave an employee for their postings on social media about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. They said that a member of their staff shared a hateful and highly offensive sentiment. They did not say what position was held by the employee. According to the story a WBTV, they're doing a complete investigation, which should really only take you as much time as it takes to read the tweet or the post. Really. Meanwhile, over at the Carolina Panthers once again made some national news Job Carolina Panthers because they fired one of their employees for a social media post following Charlie Kirk's death. Then there was a high school teacher in Greenville County, South Carolina, also reportedly without a job. The school district said they were aware of the message and confirmed that it was written by a social studies teacher who was working at Southside High School. What else? Oh, I just saw this, Thank you for sending it over. This is a post by parn Baxter, who is the hang on a second, the always got he him in his of course he is the sits on the North Carolina Democrat Party Executive Committee. He's in Union County, works for C one in Charlotte as a recruiter. And he posted there is absolutely a price for being a fascist. There is a price for evil. All this he had a family or he was only thirty one, It's all pure nonsense. It's actually true. He was only thirty one and he did have a family. Y'all. Doing this dance puts his life over the countless lives of people that he danced in the blood of this Democrat Party official from Union County. Justifying the cold blooded murder of a political opponent, y'all are literally doing the work of white supremacy by posting or expressing more sadness when Charlie Bleeping Kirk, a hate mongerer, dies than you did. When black people are killed, or brown people are harassed, or Palestinians are smashed into gooey red paste with our tax dollars that's proof of how much internalized and embraced white supremacy is within so many in America, left or rightmocrat or Republican. He says, we are in fascism now. So this is the ideology that motivated the shooter. That's why the carvings on the AMMO are so important, because they speak to his radicalized vision. He had on one of the casings bella Chow Chow Chow Chow had it several times because that is the refrain of an Italian folk song which translates to goodbye beautiful, and according to the AI Wizard, it is suing sorry. It is sung in both the original mundane version, which dates back to the late nineteenth century and was sung by female rice field workers in northern Italy protesting harsh working conditions, and the later partisan version, which became associated with the Italian resistance movement during World War II. What is the Italian resistance movement in World War two? The anti fascists, the Antifa. That's why he carved it on the bullets. This is antifha related. And for people on the left who are saying, oh, but look, he was raised by like some you know, gun Lovin Republicans and yeah, and then he went to college. I don't think this is making the case that you think it's making that he came from a Republican household, spent one year at the college, and turned into an Antifa talk about indoctrination. All right, that'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening.
