Congressman Brendan Gill and I'm going to play the whole segment here. The whole exchange, I should say, runs like five minutes. And he is Pepper Ring, the director of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History. Her name is Anthea Hartig. He's peppering her with questions about the materials that the Smithsonian has been promoting at the at the museum, in their their trainings and in their teachings and their courses and all of the stuff that the Smithsonian does and the NMAMAH or as I call it, the en Mah National Museum of American History. And the stuff that is in here is the stuff from six seven years ago during peak woke critical race theory crap, right, and this is a masterclass. Okay, see you if you simply ask these Marxists to explain what it is they're getting at, what is the purpose of this, like, treat what they are asserting as if it's not the laughable farce that it is, and just okay, well tell me then explain this to me. I do this all the time. You may have heard it in the last hour with caller Marine. I ask you, tell me more, tell me more about this. And that's what Gil does. He hoists them by their own pitards. So here is the exchange. You say that the goal of history is to be objective. Thank you, sir for the question. You know, I think that there are many goals of history, and certainly as you collect, as we do, examine evidence create. Schiss objectivity one of the goals of history. We strive to be objective and nonpartisan and not based on any ideas. It's one of the goals that seem a little bit concerning. It certainly does to me because as part of this white supremacy document that your organization has promoted, objectivity is a core in defining aspect of white supremacy culture. Do you think that it's the goal of the Smithsonian Institution to promote white supremacy culture? Sir? Do you mind sharing with me which. Document white supremacy culture? Right here? This is part of the mass Action toolkit that your organization is promoted for several years now under your leadership. Are you promoting a white supremacy culture at the Smithsonian's. Promoting this a difficult question, No, sir, I'm just thinking about the mass Action Toolkit. We didn't develop it. But back to your question, no, we're not promoting any ideology. Does it concern you that your goal is objectivity? One of your goals is object activity, and your mass Action toolkit references objectivity is a defining characteristic of white supremacy culture. It's not our toolkit, it is your toolkit. You've been promoting it for quite some time. We did not come up with the toolkit, sir. But you've been promoting it it. Is used as a reference. I believe probably in twenty nineteen, twenty twenty. Yes, under your leadership, it has been used as a reference. Is Mickey Mouse racist? Mickey Mouse is not racist. It's not racist. According to the Smithsonian Institution, one of your exhibits referenced to Mickey Mouse is representing quote, vestiges of long standing traditions of blackface minstrelsy. Would you describe that as racist? No, The historical trajectory of the origins of Mickey Mouse tied. Directly Mickey Mouse is rooted in racism. Is that your testimony? Or it's rooted in menstrualy minstrelsying? You don't think the blackface instruct. Is racist, and it's certain on obvious racial overtones that have been well documented. Is think that that's problematic that Mickey Mouse also has those racial overtones. It's not for me to determine what's problematic. It's determined to me what's accurate. Is that right? Is it important to be polite? Excuse me, sir? Is it important to be polite? Yes, sir. It's also interesting because the same mass action toolkit that your organization has been promoting references politeness as a defining characteristic of white supremacy culture. Ma'am, are you a white supremacist? No, sure you're not. Can you help me square why your organization says that being polite is part of being a white supremacist. I'm not exactly familiar with that passage of the mass action Toolkit, which is not I. Can show you the pass. I don't, I said, I just write you the passage from it. And then your question was, sir, we're. Gonna move on. What is what is Latina power? What is latinal power? Latina power? Latina power would be the forces derived from being a Latina. Do you think that it's appropriate for the Smithsonian Institution to sell Latina power paraphernalia? Hats, mugs, other things that say Latina power. I believe that the merchandise our stores sells. I'm asking you if. It's appropriate tries to reflect the richness of the. Communities to your testimony? Is that it is appropriate? Those are your words, sir. I'm asking you, is it appropriate to sell Latina power paraphernalia? It's a yes or no question. I don't have control over what is. I'm asking you if it's appropriate. I didn't ask you if you have control over it. Is it appropriate, sir? Yes or no? Again, we strive to represent all Americans and inclusions appropriate, yes or no. We strive to represent all Americans in our museums, including in our merchandise. Right times out you, sir. So I'm guessing she's okay with white power paraphernalia to then. No, right? Isn't that how that works? Or is it no? Oh it doesn't work. That's bad. Oh man? So then would okay? So Latina power? How about Latino power? Is that okay? Maybe okay? Black power? Is that okay? Black power mugs and T shirts? Is that all right? Yes? Okay? But white power no? Latina? Yes, Latino. Maybe they would get at they would get extra merch because Latina and Latino is also confusing. One of the most significant findings in the report done by the Domestic Policy Council into the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History. One of the most significant findings is what is Missing. It notes that a visitor to the museum today will find no major exhibit dedicated to America's founding era George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, other founding fathers. The Continental Congress, the Pilgrims, the Puritans, or major moments of the American Revolution, the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution are quoted selectively and in ways that mute their claims about equality, ordered liberty, natural rights, and the divine source of those inalienable rights as well. There's a word for this whitewashing, right, They're just washing out all of the stuff that they don't want you to look at. I've been I'll listen to you every day pretty much, but you've been going right down the line on something I heard years ago and went back and listened to. There was a guy named Yuri Besmanoff, affected from the KGV to Canada back in the eighties, and they did an interview with him. You can find it on YouTube, just Juri besman Off. It's not hard to find where he goes right down the line of what the actual function of the KGB was in this country. Starts out with you know, yeah, they do some spying and turning on getting information that way, but he said the main goal was to ensure that people that they could groom or the already thought like they did, became teachers and small town public officials, and to indoctrinate these ideas and to lesson plans a little bit at a time where demoralization. He talked to Lakes about that guilt, and then he goes through and he starts talking about how many generations each one of those phases took and he hit it dead on the I mean dead on the nail head. I heard this thing back in the early two thousands the first time, and the more and more I'm seeing this I went back and I found it, and I encourage their listeners to go and listen to this thing. It's pretty prescient. Yeah, I've watched it several times over the years myself. I played some of the clips from it. Yeah, he does, he spells out. That's why I keep using the term demoralization. It comes right from the Soviet Union. This was part of their decades long effort to have us kill ourselves. That's because they could not They could not beat us militarily. They didn't even want to fight us militarily because it would be too costly. So how do you defeat an enemy if not militarily, Well you get them to kill themselves. And that's what they've been that's the project they've been engaged in now for decades. Yeah. Yeah, and it's gonna take it's gonna take generations to get it undone. I mean, it's not gonna happen overnight. I have so many friends that I have friends across both sides of the political spectrum, and there is so much misinformation among people that I mean, they take for just dead facts, just incorrect information, missing information you and it comes from Unfortunately, I got out, got out of high school in the late seventies and they were still sort of teaching this tride in the country thing. I was not born in this country. I was naturalized here. My father was in the service, and I was born in Germany. And as a told for that, during the Cold War, I grew up all over the world. My father got transferred everywhere. It's gonna take a lot of work in a long time to get this undone. Yeah. I talked a little bit about this yesterday, that the Boomer generation and the gen X generation. When the Soviet Union collapsed, we all kind of thought, as a gen xer like, we all thought, okay, good, we won. It's over. And that was a mistake because the evil ideology, it just mutates and there are other there I mean. And yesterday I went over the nexus of Cuba, right. The State Department just put out its big report on that's like a sixty page report on Cuba and how they have been promoting and spreading this Third Worldism form of Marxism. And they've been doing that for decades as well, and they operated in many of the same ways. And the KGB learned from the Cubans, and the Cubans learned from the KGB various tactics, and that's part of their operation as well, is to insert people, you know, find people that are already on the path, that are already simpatico, and then bring them in, train them up, and then put them into positions throughout the institutions where they can implement the demoralization campaign. And they've been successful at doing it. So yes, I agree, it's going to take it's going to take multiple generations to write the ship and people ask, well, what can we do, And what we do is we identify it, we call it out. We don't be afraid when they say, oh, you're just you know, Joe McCarthy, Well, here's the thing. Joe McCarthy was correct, all right, Like for all of the excesses and his you know, drunkenness and whatever, but the State Department, like there were in fact communists in the government in these agencies that were working to undermine America, and they were in Hollywood, they were in various instiutions and industries. He was correct. So, you know, I don't want to say Joe McCarthy gets a bad rap, but he kind of does in some respects. But yeah, all right, Keith, Yeah, I appreciate the call, buddy, good to hear from you. Thank you all right? So yah, commies don't like Mayo. Enough said, Oh another reason to hate commis. I don't know if that's true, but I will believe it. Joe, thank you on the text line. So get this the National Museum of American History. You know what they did not do. They did not mark Independence Day with any kind of special programming, either last year or this year. For the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. They did not market with any kind of special programming. The report also placed a special emphasis on the museum's chain Jenet's mission statement under current Leadership, which replaced the phrases infinite richness and American history with language about empowering people to create a quote more just and compassionate future. Once again, like this is what this is. What communists do is they take the nice language for themselves and then cast you as the opposite. Right by exploring the complexity of our past and the words of the director heartache. This was done in order to get out of the America first mentality. See, when you view everything through the prism of Trump, all your thinking gets corrupted. All right, I want to go over some of these examples, because we get a mention in this report. Yeah, we get to mention North Carolina Charlotte Mecklenberg. Hm hmm. Okay. So the report says, at the museum and its exhibits and it's course offerings for students and all that stuff, it should tell the whole story of a nation, including the good and the bad. And see, here's the thing that the defenders of critical race theory, and you know this Marxist depress or oppressed narrative stuff. They'll always say, oh, so you just want to whitewash all of American history. No, no, no, you can tell the bad stuff too, but you can't only tell the bad stuff, right. They give you this false choice that you either tell only the good or only the bad. And you just want to tell the good. No, we're saying, tell it all, and you can't sacrifice all the good stuff and only be critical of the bad stuff. But that's what critical theory is all about criticizing. Right. So from the report, mm hmmmm, they had a they did highlight Alexander Hamilton that he owned slaves, and this was done in an exhibit about the Broadway musical Hamilton. It simply called him an influential and flawed founding father. That's it. It did not mention that he was a vocal critic of slavery and actually had helped to found the anti slavery New York Manumission Society in seventeen eighty five, which worked to end the slave trade. Not mentioned. They failed to They quit holding patriotic star spangled banner flag folding ceremonies. They created an exhibit called a Bending sixteen twenty that explicitly reframes the Pilgrims as colonizers. They claimed that America is not an enormous force for good, but is rather an oppressive, imperialist nation that was quote founded on the backs of African and Indian slavery and genocide, built on stolen land, and is irredeemably. Infected with systemic racism. Their leadership at the Museum has made it a stated goal to make history quote a prime tool of social justice, and to be an agent of social change and connect research and scholarship to activism and advocacy. That's like, that is all the Marxists are doing. They're training up activists that's it. That's the mission. They launched a Center for Restorative History to encourage systemic change within the Smithsonian for the purpose of transforming the national historical narrative. You want to transform it. There it is again, fundamental transformation. They commissioned the drafting of a museum wide d coolinization restorative history plan. They utilized their national youth summits on issues ranging from teen resistance to racism and gender equity, to elections and politics, and then they invited Democrat Party operatives to speak about how young people can engage in political action and influence the elections. No Republicans were invited, apparently to that. They created exhibits and educational materials asserting that there are more than two genders, that biological males can become girls and women, and men should be allowed to compete in women's sports. Yeah, they put inappropriate material in their Girlhood exhibit that was designed for young kids. I will not give you the examples, but you can imagine. They put sexually suggestive materials inappropriate for young kids in its exhibits, including drag Queen's magazine covers featuring photos of nude young women, and a two piece chrome and rubber crotch harness designed for sado masochism. That was in the Smithsonian. I mean, that's part of our national heritage. Of course, they did an exhibit called All Work, No Pay, portraying homemaking as oppressive. They took a firm stance in favor of abortion. They publicly criticized the Supreme Court's Dobbs decision and encouraged all the visitors to the museum to join them in their opposition. They incorporated anti gun activism into youth oriented exhibits, because of course they would. And then my favorite, they created the Undocumented Organizing Collecting Initiative, where the Center for Restorative History staff traveled across the country and even down to Mexico to celebrate, interview, and partner up with deported illegal aliens and other illegal alien activists who worked to swing an election to oust a North Carolina sheriff because he helped Immigration and Customs enforcement to port nearly three hundred criminal illegal aliens. And so I was curious about that one. So I went to the support materials to find out who are they highlighting? Who did they go and do this big exhibit, this big initiative, Who were they celebrating. Who were all these illegal aliens that were part of this operation? And you know what was the point of all this? And it was, in fact the ousting the electoral defeat of Mecklenberg County Sheriff Irwin Carmichael by Gary not my fault, McFadden. We made the Smithsonian, the Smithsonian Institute's National Museum of American History, organized and initiative to tout and celebrate the electoral defeat of Irwin Carmichael over the two eighty seven g program. We have arrived, people. We are on the map, all right, Alex, welcome to the show. Hello Alex, Hey, Pete, how are you doing? All right? What's up? Yeah? I just want to say, if you took the word racist to have the dictionary, it would cut the vocabulary of leftist in half. I think they know more than two words. I doubt it. I mean, what, look I can rattle off. They know Nazi, they know Hitler, right, they they know they know transphobic, white supremacy. I mean, granted, all of these are in the same vein microaggression, microaggression right, right, So I'm not sure. I mean that's yeah, So maybe instead of fifty percent. You got to lower the like, say nineteen percent. Yeah, it would eliminate nineteen percent of their vocabulary. Nineteen percent is a funnier stat you know. It's like yes, Like every day you wake up something else that's racist. If heard a story, a few looks back and they're claiming the milk. Is racist, Well it's white. Oh, because I assume this because so many non whites have a problem with lactose in tolerance. Oh, I wouldn't even think about. I was just informed in a message that that Mayo. Also, if I start talking about why Mayo is superior, that's racist too. So yeah, I don't know. Maybe I'm not sure. I appreciate the call, Alex, thank you for it. Let's just say they have a They have a a progressive relative who has degrees in history and librarianism. We were discussing the irredeemable history of the country a while back, and when I brought up the fact that the abolitionist movement, the Civil War, emancipation in the Civil Rights Act were all led by white, mostly Christian people, She explained that that's whitewashing the real history, and then could not give any examples of how, yeah, no, you get no credit. I award you no credit at all, because that's what irredeemable means. See, that's the whole point, and why they use the word irredeemable is because you can never atone for it, and so therefore the only response is complete destruction, because that's always the goal, right. The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution, and so it's just swap one thing out for the next. We've got to tear down the system, becosts fill in the blank. It's just mad libs Stanley Kurtz over at National Review talking about the Smithsonian leadership. It needs to be They need to be removed. First, the academy was seized, he says, from their cultural radicalism was injected into the wider social bloodstream. You could say the economy and foreign policy are more important than these cultural battles, but over the long haul, that's simply not true. He says. The public is being treated to chapter and verse accounts of modern cultural madness. From this report, we learn how ideologically partisan activism metastasizes under a veneer of bipartisanship. We see how slick and condescending elites selectively disclose and disguise their true intentions, and we discover just how crazy radical these educated elites truly are. This is a fight whose importance goes well beyond the case in question. The battle over the Smithsonian is a prototype of the wider cultural clash we're facing and will continue to face into the indefinite future. I agree with them on this, as I've said this a few times now over the last day or so, right, that. This is this is not. Well, I'll say what I said yesterday, which is that this is just a permutation of the ancient evil. It's just a mutation, and once this is defeated, it will then morph into something else. It'll mutate into something else, and it will emerge in that new form. Have you seen the movie ghost Ship. That's what this is. That's what we're living through, or the Matrix, Right, It's a constant reset of this same eternal struggle. So, the two big complaints from this report that the Museum of American History refuses to tell America's core story and that it substitutes political activism on behalf of contemporary leftist causes for America's well established core historical narrative. The history of America's incomplete but courageous struggles to form a more perfect union around its founding principles is either omitted, downplayed, or reduced to a focus on slavery and little else. To Patriotic, to anglocentric, to white are the museum's evident complaints about the standard account. This claim that the museum short changes America's central story is what has received the most pushback from historians. They argue focus sing on America's flaws leads to a deeper and truer patriotism, but what's largely ignored is the evidence of radical political activism that actually makes up the bulk of the report. It's the museums supposed to be nonpartisan. The woman that we played the clip from she was a proud protege of UCLA historian Gary Nash, who was the author of the infamous National History Standards, which was condemned in nineteen nineteen ninety five by a ninety nine to one vote of the US Senate. Okay, she was one of his protegees. She is now in charge of communicating our history to future generations. She needs to go. All right, that'll do it for this episode.
