All right, So, Joe Biden is in reputation management mode. According to a piece by a bunch of reporters over at Politico, he has hired a veteran campaign and comm's strategist to help burnish his legacy at a time when many and his party want him to exit the stage in a sign of but which is so weird because he was the most successful president ever, Like, why would you want him off the stage? He was so brilliant and I don't get it. In a sign of Biden's intent to remain engaged publicly, is Inner Circle tapped Chris Meagher? That's a Dickensian name, or well maybe it's well it's me a g H E R. So is that like, is that a like tough the gh like, So it's a mepher either way. They tap this Chris Meager, a former Biden deputy Press secretary and Defense Department spokesperson, to help him transition past the first one hundred days of the Trump administration. In case you are wondering why that's important, it's because they get to keep their pr person. They get to keep their comms guy or gal when they exit the presidency for one hundred days, Like taxpayers pick up the tab for their for their spokesperson for one hundred days. So now he's shifting to his own comms team. And slight problem with this is that, you know, he does still get the Secret Service protection. But the slight problem here is that to have the team around him, they don't work for free. And while he does draw you know, a presidential pension as I understand it, they don't have any more revenue coming in. So yeah, we'll get I'm gonna circle back. We're gonna sacky back on that in in due time. Okay. But Meager has worked for former Transportation Secretary Pete Booty Gig and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. He played an instrumental role in booking Biden's appearance on the View yesterday. That was his first live interview since Trump's inauguration, So I thought, let's hear how he did. How did it go? Right? He's been on the View many times. These are palsy wowsies of his, so they, you know, welcomed him in as a you know, as a victorious conqueror that he is. And first question right out of the gate was why do you think the vice president lost? Why did Harris lose? And were you surprised? I wasn't surprised, Not because I didn't think the vice president most qualified person to be president. She is, She's qualified to be president the United States of America. But I was surprised. I wasn't surprised because they went the route of the sexister a the whole room. I mean, this is a woman, she's this, she's a really I've never seen quite as successful and a consistent campaign, under cutting the notion that a woman couldn't lead the country and a woman of mixed trace. I remember those campaign ads. I do not remember those campaign ads. The most effective campaign ad, reportedly was the Donald Trump is for you, Harris is for they them that was That's the only ad that I can think of that referenced anything gender related. But in Biden's mind, what's left of it. He obviously believes that this the only reason Harris lost was sexism and racism, because of course, right, of course that would be what card he plays, or cards there are two cards, I guess. But if that's actually true, if this is what they believe, that this is what Biden believes, if this is the kopium that the Democrats are huffing, I don't see how they're going to be able to get out of the forest that they're in or the desert either way. Right, they're out in the wilderness and they're trying to find their way back, but they don't even know how they got there. They don't so they can't retrace steps and say, oh, this is how we got here, let's not do that again. They can't find their way through. This is not good for the Democrat party if this is in fact what they believe occurred. But here's the thing, I don't believe that. I don't believe that that's what they believe. I don't think. I mean, yes, I'm sure there are racists out there and sexists out there that did not vote for Harris because they're racist and sexist, no doubt. Was it a critical mass, No, it was not right. These are fringe positions that very few people hold. So what are we left to decipher out of that is that Joe Biden and Democrats they know the reasons why they lost, they just don't want to say for whatever reasons, but they don't want to say, so they're going to smear more than half the country as racists and sexist. That's what he just did. He called Trump voters racist and sexist because that's what the campaign messaging was about. It was so prevalent that we all missed it, but it was so prevalent that it swung the election for Donald Trump over Kamala Harris. Yeah, like I said, I choose to believe that he doesn't actually think this is the reason. But that makes it kind of worse because he's just smearing people with these nasty words, which I mean, look, this is why the words don't carry the same power anymore. Right, you use them against everybody that you disagree with, and then people stop believing you when you use the words. So let's pick it up again here. And they played that to a further on in addition to that, Well, what one of the things happened if you notice, And I'm gonna be shorter, Okay, I promise, she said, don't be Joe Biden him anyway, make a long story short, all kid aside. Think about it. Liberal democracies all across America, all across the world lost. That's time. I think we underestimate the phenomenal negative impact that COVID had and the pandemic had on people on attitude, on optimism, on a whole range of things. So I was very disappointed, but I wasn't surprised. And the only surprised me is the excess to which they've gone in some of the attacks they've made. The access to which that he This is not a good This is not a strong start people. It's kind of like his debate. It's not a strong start. Sexism, racism. Oh and COVID A little bit of COVID sprinkling some COVID there. That's that's why why liberal democracies all across America, I mean the world, that's why populism is on the rise because COVID. Look, I have no doubt COVID is part of it. But see once again, it's like it's your policies, guys, the things that you and COVID was just one of the you know, one of the basket of deplorable policies that you guys were advancing and still advance. See. This is why I don't think he can actually say why he thinks Harris lost. It's because the message. It's not the messaging. It is the message. It is the things that you guys stand for, and people rejected it. All right, if you're listening to this show, you know I try to keep up with all sorts of current events, and I know you do too, And you've probably heard me say get your news from multiple sources. Listening to some of the highlights of the interview that Joe Biden and Joe Biden sorry, doctor Jill Biden gave to the view, it was a fra warm embrace of an interview they did. They did ask a couple of questions to allow the president to say what he wanted about the cognitive decline. Biggest scandal in American political history, at least in my lifetime. But I would submit it's you know, it's up there with the Woodrow Wilson stuff, but it's even worse because you have a we all had a media complex that that lied to us, and we could see that they were lying to us and they didn't care, and it persists to this day. So we've got tru or sorry Biden and Jill on the on the view. And the next question he gets is do you think you would have beaten Trump? Did you have a chance I could have been a contender? Yeah, he still got seven million, A few revolts, yes, okay, boom people didn't show up number one, number one number too. The uh, they're very close in those those toss up states. It was. It wasn't a slam dunk. And so look, I you know, every time I've been on the show, which you've been forced, I've been fortunately beyond more than once. Thanks for having me. Is that we talk You guys don't focus on as much. And I think it's good polling numbers, but uh, nin for this way, he's had the worst hundred days any presents ever had. Yeah, and I would not say, uh honest, he's been a strong point. Yeah, yeah, m compelling and rich. Yes. Wow, that's uh, I mean, this is some awesome content from Joe Biden. Where is this guy during the debate? Oh? Actually, yeah, this was him. He's not doing himself any favors here. By the way, I one of the resources I use online website, it's called it's called memorandom, like memorandum, but meme oh random, and it's an aggregator, so it aggregates headlines and it lumps them all together, so you'll see, you know, in this case, it would be something like, you know, Biden appears on the View, attacks Trump or whatever, and then there would be all of these links to all of the media outlets that are covering it, different angles to it. It's all stacked up there, and it is of the left, as has been for years. But Pete, then why do you go there? Ah? I go there to see which stories are moving and which stories the left is focusing on. Ground news is another way to see this too. But the mem random one today this morning I wake up, So the view was yesterday, So I wake up this morning, five am, fire up the computer and I'm looking at it, looking at me Mirandom. There's nothing on that page about Joe Biden on the View. That's unusual, right, this is the former president and his first live interview since he left office, and there's nothing on the front page of me Mirandom. It's almost as if they don't want people to be completely informed about what transpired. Not on me Mirandom USA today I mean there was reporting on it, outlets reporting reported on it, but on the aggregation site. They don't want to link you to all of those all of those articles. So USA today their headline was Biden rebuffs age criticism, attacks Trump on the view. Again, it's not about his age, it is about his cognitive decline. These are different issues. Yes, cognitive decline often occurs in your elder years, to be sure. But if he was ninety five and sharp as attack, or at least as sharp as they told us, he was behind closed doors where we never could see him, he would not have faced these types of questions. That debate performance was not because he was old. That debate performance was because of his cognitive decline, which you can see simply by pulling up old videos of Joe Biden giving a campaign speech from any time over the last half a century. The guy has been on TV for fifty years. We know who he is. We've seen him speak. Stuttering at all. I'm just kidding. He never really ended. No, he never had a stutter in public life. That was only an excuse they threw at us to gaslight us again. Oh he has a stutter. No, No, he he is mentally declining he can't. I mean, you heard, you heard his answers here, He's he's starting sentences, not finishing them. He trails off. He miss uh, has malapropisms, He misstates words, misstates h sayings like I think he said, you know, to the excess that they did rather than the extent that that that's the word that you should use in that sentence. And he's constantly then covering ford by saying anyway, anyway, you're gonna hear it. Throughout he ends so many of these answers, or he pulls up in the mid sentence with this anyway. He makes constant reference to this. I'm gonna keep it short. You already heard him say that once he did. He does this throughout the whole interview. Yeah, I was told not to go on. I mean I could keep going on all Oh you will hear the the background noise. I think you can hear it over the compression over the AM radio dial. But Joe Biden speaks so softly, which we now have you know, like this is now confirmed. All of this stuff is confirmed. About the very low volume at which he speaks, that they have to crank up the microphone settings so high that you hear essentially what room noise, that's what you're hearing. We started hearing this in the last year of his presidency. There's so much room noise that you can hear when he when he stops speaking for a second, and you'll hear that's because the mics are so high that they're it's like picking up the air conditioning vents, you know, up in the ceiling and stuff. And I heard it again in this interview, which is saying because he's on a sound stage, right, he's miked up with a with a little lapel mic two. Scott Jennings from CNN, Good lord, you would think we do not work in radio anyway, Scott Jennings. Sorry, just inside the building issue. Scott Jennings said, between he said this on Twitter, between what we saw of Biden today on the View and my understanding of what's about to drop in the Alex Thompson Jake Tapper book, I don't think Democrats have fully internalized the nuclear bomb that's about to hit their party, and I am here for it. Scott. Yes, here's a great idea. Going over some of the highlights of the Joe Biden appearance on The View yesterday, and they asked him, first up, you know, were you surprised the Veep lost? And he's like, no, sexism, racism, covid, oh my. And then he was asked, do you think you would have beat Trump? Well, you darn't do and I would have. And then they said, well, some have argued they've eaten I think this was Sonny host and she was like, some have even argued, like, I can't believe they would say such a thing. Some have even argued that the timing of your exit so close to the election hampered Kamala Harris. Please tell us that's that's not what happened. Please please tell us that. Joe, what do you say to those critics? I say, number one, that there was still six full months. She was in every aspect, every decision I made, every decision we made, and I don't think, I hope I don't do sound the wrong way. I don't think anybody thought would be as successful as you were. I don't think anybody thought we'd passed Recovery Act. I don't think anybody thought we'd have we'd deal with a chips and science. I don't think anybody think we'd have all. We got done. Okay, how was that responsive? Do you did your exit six months before the election? That timing instead of allowing a primary? Right, that's what Hoston doesn't ask, right. They the Democrat Party closed ranks, locked down primaries so nobody could challenge Joe Biden in the primary because they didn't want him doing any debates. Right, So the party stiff arms everybody else from running against him and then kicks him out the door six months, you know, throw their coup. They kick him out the door, and they stick Kamala Harris in there, which they were saying, you can't get rid of Joe because oh my gosh, have you seen Harris? And then as soon as they got rid of Joe, it's like Kamala Harris is the best, and he's now answering this question. He's like, no, she still had six months. Oh, and also, nobody thought we could get everything done that we did, and we had so much success, and that's of course why they wanted him to stay is because he was so successful, and she was right there with me on all of this. We worked together on all of these things in. A close wace. Think about it. We got more major legislation paths to fundamentally change the direction of the country than any president had a long, long time. Right, Well, he's so close to getting it, yeah, to transforming the country. And then they voted against you and your veep. He's so close to getting it right. They didn't like what you did. And so we're in a situation where we came to office and we agreed on two things. One. I was tired of just take and tired of trickle down economics. And my dad just said, not a whole lot trickle down in his kitchen table. And so I built this. We built them for the middle out in the bottom up. Oh my gosh, the strongest economy in the world. Just campaign, that's a fact. See for the campaign talking points of the world. We created more jobs than one term any president has in American history. Oh my god, all right, this is the This one drives me nuts. We created more jobs than any president in history. No, the jobs were put on pause during COVID. These weren't new jobs you created, and they tagged Trump all the jobs lost, COVID, a global pandemic and states locking down all over the place. That's what caused the job losses. And then when you open the states back up again, people go back to work because you are allowing them to go back to work. Gov. Co created the job losses and the job gains. Not you, Joe. You had nothing to do with this. So my point is that we had a very successful effort to change the direction of the country and we did, and she was every single part of that. She wasn't and it wasn't like she was a BIA. Look I realized, wait. Oh my god, what he was like gagging on his flim This is not a good performance. You know, I was a vice president once and it's a it's a really you you are an integral part. I was with Barak. He was a great president. But you know, I just think that it Uh, it was a very tough year across the board. But look what's happened in the meantime. Yeah, well, let me just follow up with this because when the vice president was here, I asked her if she would have done something differently than your administration over the past four years, and because of all the successes that your administration had. I think her response was, there is not a thing that comes to mind now. That answer was weaponized against her. Whoaa whoa, whoa whoa. Her answer is weaponized against her. How how was that possible? She No. She got criticized for the answer because her answer was pretty bad. You were running as Joe Biden part two. I guess it would be Obama part four, So like you're running is like I did everything that Joe Biden did. We were together the whole way. And that's what Joe was still trying to claim here, like we were all together on all these issues, and she's gets as much credit as I do for all of this stuff. Yet people weren't happy with him, and they weren't happy with her. They didn't like the things that Joe Biden was doing. They blamed him for a lot of this stuff. They weren't They didn't weaponize her answer. She failed to distinguish herself from Joe. She had to be her own candidate, and she couldn't do it, wouldn't do it, didn't know how to do it. And there has been some reporting that you encouraged her for there to be no daylight between the two of you. First, is that true? And do you think in retrospect that she should have tried to differentiate all the wins that your administration. Well, look, first of all, I the non advisor to say that number one, like I said, I was vice president. I understand the role number one. Number two, I think it was. I think she was talking about she wouldn't have changed the successes we've had. Not opposed to that, we wouldn't change anything at all. She has to be your own person, and she was. She was, And so I think that that was used in a way that is contrary to what she meant by when she said that. Now, and I think that you know, she was part of every success we had. We'd argue like hell, by the way, no, no, no, I'm good, that's good. Yeah we should and say well what about this prevision? Not Joe, I don't like that. Well yeah, anyway, we worked it out. It was a mutual thing. But like I said, Lay eight to five, if that election started, I told you we were going to get any of that done, None of you would have thought happened, not because negative I mean it was it anyway as I say, And something that we'd done pretty good. As we'd done pretty good, we done as they say, What did he say that we say as in the we say in the South. Anyway, as I say, And something that we've done pretty good. As they say in southern Did he try to say Delaware? Did they say that in southern Delaware? Is there a southern Delaware? So my takeaway on that is that we were so awesome that people voted us out like they couldn't handle all of the awesomeness. Megan Kelly from The Megan Kelly Show, she said in her podcast last night that she has been a guest on the View. She says, the producers write all these questions, and the producers give the questions to the guests in advance. They knew all of these questions were coming. And what Joe Biden is essentially saying is what democrats say whenever they lose, which is it was a messaging problem, not the message. We just didn't advertise all of our successes and how well everything was working. People just didn't understand because we didn't do a good job of messaging. It's always the same story with these people. All right? So spring is here a time of renewal and celebrations. You got graduations, weddings, anniversaries and the special days for mom and dad. Let me jump over and chat with Alex real quick. Hey Alex, welcome to the show. Hey, how you doing good? How are you okay good? I just want to say I think Joe Biden is as full of crap as a stink in depends. He's the worst president, says Jimmy Carter. And that's saying something. Often tell people that the main reason that I'm have been a straight ticket voting Republican is have two people to think for that, Rush Limbaugh and Jimmy Carter. You would not be alone in that. Yeah, Carter was before my time, but the scars were deep. So yeah, I know a lot of people who made the same conclusion. Alex, Thanks, man, have a great weekend. I appreciate the call. Michael says sexism and racism are the only excuses Democrats ever have for why they lost, and Russ writes in when he touts his successes, he mentions the Chips Bill and jobs. I never heard an actual person ever mention the Chips bill, and if you control for replacement jobs, government jobs, jobs to foreigners versus citizens, and the percentage of people working multiple jobs, he actually has one of the worst jobs creation records in history. And Joe says or Joseph says, if over half the country is racist and sexist for not voting for Kamala, what does that say about Democrat primary voters where she got a paltry two percent and didn't even make it to her home state's primary in twenty twenty. You're exactly right. Also, she got six million. Oh. I would also bring up that she got six million fewer votes than Biden did, but those were phony COVID chicanery votes. Yeah. Yeah, the turnout during the twenty twenty election was way higher for both Democrat and Republican candidates. So he left that out. Now, so they the Biden's were on the view, but Joe was solo for the first segment. The second segment, then they bring out Jill Biden. Sorry doctor, you call her doctor Jill, so doctor Jill Biden, or as I call her, doctor Jilson. As a as a tip of the hat to Edith Wilson. Edith Wilson was the wife of Woodrow Wilson, who basically acted as our president when Woodrow Wilson had like his fourteen thousand strokes or whatever and he couldn't function, and so they kept him hidden away and she would sign stuff in his hand. They brought out doctor Jilson, and they asked, first question, real hardball stuff, how is she adjusting to private life? And she said, oh, you know, she grocery shops now, and she's she's on a lot of airplanes. She's flying around a lot, she's traveling a lot. And Joe responds, sake a service. That's that's that's the benefit. Yeah, yeah, but it's also manager not anyway. Of course, I don't even know what he said. I cannot decipher what he was saying there, or to quote Donald Trump, I don't even think he knows what he just said. So as I said, he would repeatedly wander off point, he would lose his train of thought. He would say anyway an end the answer, or he says, I'll stop talking so much. There have been a number next question, there have been a number of deeply sourced from Democrats, deeply sourced reports and books about his dramatic decline and cognitive abilities in the final year of office. Is before then too, but whatever, at least they're asking, so she asked, are these sources all wrong? They are wrong. There's nothing to sustain that number one. Number two, you know, think of what. We're left for. We left for the circumstance where we had an insurrection, I started nonsensus civil war. We had a circumstance where we were in a position that we well the pandemic because of the incompetence of the last outfit. I end up over a million people dying, million people dying. And we're also in a situation where we found ourselves unable to deal with a lot of just basic issues. And uh, I won't go into it in interested time. What does that have to do with your declining cognitive abilities? Why with a question about whether sources, democrats, sources are wrong about your decline in cognitive ability, why are you talking about what you were left with when you walked in the door for a job that you asked for. All right, that'll do it for this episode. Thank you so much for listening.
