[00:00:28] Pete Kaliner here. And if you've ever heard me make reference to the fact that you knew who I was, like, oh, Pete Kaliner, but you knew that it's because I completely stole it from this next guest, Nick Searcy, whose groundbreaking acting school comedy series on YouTube really changed my life, made me a better host. And so I welcome him back to the program. Nick, how are you, sir?
[00:00:51] Pete, good to talk to you. Yes, acting school. Acting school is a public service. It was meant to educate people on how they should behave when they run into an international film and television star like Nick.
[00:01:04] Right. Exactly. And not only are you an international film and television star, you are a Peabody Award winner. You have, you've also, you guest hosted for Rush Limbaugh.
[00:01:16] I did. I remember that. And also, you've been in a couple of movies. Let me run through a couple of them in case people are unaware.
[00:01:25] The Prince of Tides, The Fugitive, Moneyball, The Shape of Water, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
[00:01:31] The Shape of Water, Best Picture winner. Also, Nell, Castaway, Head of State, Runaway Jury.
[00:01:37] But your big break, I guess, goes to the Fried Green Tomatoes role of Frank Bennett.
[00:01:44] Do people recognize you from that role, even though it was so long ago? 91?
[00:01:50] Well, it takes a very perceptive person to recognize me from that role.
[00:01:56] But more these days, it's justified. That's what they recognize me from,
[00:02:01] because I was already an old man when I did Justified. So, that's mostly what I'm known for these days.
[00:02:08] And he played Art Mullen in Justified, the TV series. And so, I guess that's where the title of your upcoming book,
[00:02:17] or are you done with the book now? Justify This?
[00:02:19] No, it's out. It's available on Amazon, and you can also get an autographed copy if you get in touch with me
[00:02:25] and bring some money over to my house.
[00:02:28] Well, where is your house now? Did you flee California finally?
[00:02:32] Yes, we are. We're sort of splitting our time between Tennessee and Kentucky these days.
[00:02:38] Okay.
[00:02:38] A little bit in Franklin, Tennessee, and a little bit in a little town in Kentucky that I won't say on the air
[00:02:45] because I don't want the FBI to come and get me.
[00:02:48] No, that's a fair point.
[00:02:51] Right. So, also, you are originally from Western North Carolina. People may not know that.
[00:02:57] Kulawi, right, I believe?
[00:02:59] Absolutely, yes.
[00:03:00] So, how are your people doing out there?
[00:03:03] You know, my Kulawi and Silva kind of missed all the really bad parts of the hurricane.
[00:03:10] And just strangely, it was like 20 miles just to the east of it was devastation.
[00:03:17] So, I'm not sure exactly why geographically it missed us, but it did.
[00:03:23] But, yeah, what's happened in North Carolina is just a terrible, horrible shame.
[00:03:28] And I can't believe that the government has done so little to help those people.
[00:03:35] It really is sort of a clarifying moment for, you know, what government does and what it doesn't do,
[00:03:44] what it chooses to do and what it chooses not to do.
[00:03:47] Yeah.
[00:03:48] Like, this is a perfect juxtaposition, right, between government and, in this case,
[00:03:54] I reached out to you because I saw you talking on Twitter.
[00:03:57] You can follow him, by the way, at YesNickSearcy on Twitter.
[00:04:01] Although, be warned, that's where he does a lot of the wet work against leftists.
[00:04:07] That's right.
[00:04:08] It's a nice fight over there.
[00:04:10] Indeed it is. Indeed it is.
[00:04:11] So, the issue of the pardons and the focus on, you know, going after certain people
[00:04:19] versus, you know, helping others in disasters.
[00:04:24] You know, government does what it chooses to do.
[00:04:27] People in charge of these programs choose where to devote resources.
[00:04:31] And, which is why I kind of find it funny now that I'm seeing a lot of concerns
[00:04:35] about who Trump might install in charge of these various agencies.
[00:04:42] So, I guess, well, do you know Kash Patel?
[00:04:44] Have you heard anything about this guy?
[00:04:46] And do you think that he'd be a good fit as head of the FBI?
[00:04:51] Yes.
[00:04:51] I've met Kash a couple of times.
[00:04:53] I put a picture of Kash and I up on Twitter the other day.
[00:04:57] I think Kash is a wonderful pick.
[00:04:59] And I think the reason that everybody so, all the establishment people are so afraid of him
[00:05:04] is that he will reform the agency.
[00:05:06] I mean, you've had four years of this government targeting innocent people
[00:05:13] who happen to be in Washington on January 6th just like I was.
[00:05:17] And I made two movies about it just showing you who these people that this government are,
[00:05:22] they've been calling them domestic terrorists and treating them like drug dealers
[00:05:26] and armed raids on their house at 6 in the morning.
[00:05:29] I mean, they have targeted citizens that disagree with the state.
[00:05:36] And it's just shocking to believe that this is going on in America.
[00:05:42] And these agencies like the FBI and the Department of Justice, they need complete reform.
[00:05:48] They need to be emptied out and rebuilt.
[00:05:51] And I think Kash Patel is just the man to do it.
[00:05:54] You mentioned the movies that you made, the first called Capital Punishment,
[00:05:58] the second is called The War on Truth.
[00:06:00] And people can actually watch both of them, I believe, on rumble.com.
[00:06:04] Are those free for people to go watch now on Rumble?
[00:06:07] Do you know?
[00:06:08] Capital Punishment is free on Rumble right now.
[00:06:12] War on Truth will be free very shortly, but it's still for sale right now at salemnow.com.
[00:06:18] You can access it there.
[00:06:20] Okay.
[00:06:20] But we're going to release War on Truth for free before January 6th.
[00:06:25] So, and the second one, The War on Truth, is that essentially like a sequel to Capital Punishment?
[00:06:32] It is.
[00:06:33] Capital Punishment was made in 21 when we were just trying to piece together why the government
[00:06:39] was lying so much about January 6th.
[00:06:42] And The War on Truth is really a sequel to that.
[00:06:45] And it mostly shows the oppression that this government has administered to people that
[00:06:51] they consider their enemies.
[00:06:53] And what I really wanted to do with The War on Truth is show these people, humanize these
[00:06:59] people that the Biden administration and people like Merrick Garland have demonized and have
[00:07:06] called names Nazis, white supremacists, all this nonsense that they have done simply to advance
[00:07:12] their political agenda.
[00:07:14] And when you see The War on Truth, it's heartbreaking.
[00:07:17] It's heartbreaking what they've done to these people.
[00:07:19] They've ruined their lives.
[00:07:21] They've bankrupted them.
[00:07:22] Many of them have been forced into plea deals just to stop the government from completely destroying
[00:07:28] their families and their lives.
[00:07:30] And it has to be rectified.
[00:07:34] These people need to be pardoned, every single one of them.
[00:07:37] And after that, they need to be made whole.
[00:07:39] I hope that they will sue this government and that the government will repay them for what
[00:07:44] the Democrats and the weak Republicans have done to them.
[00:07:47] Well, so I guess in that regard, you've got to take some comfort and some encouragement from
[00:07:54] Joe Biden's pardon of Hunter Biden, because in that statement, he acknowledged that the DOJ
[00:07:59] engages in political prosecutions.
[00:08:02] Absolutely.
[00:08:03] And he's right.
[00:08:04] They do.
[00:08:05] And they engaged in political prosecution with Hunter Biden because they only charged him
[00:08:11] with a fraction of what he should be charged with.
[00:08:15] And the reason that Biden pardoned him was not because he cared so much about Hunter.
[00:08:20] I'm hearing all these people talk about, oh, he just pardoned his son.
[00:08:24] Wouldn't you do the same thing?
[00:08:25] He doesn't care about Hunter Biden.
[00:08:27] He pardoned him all the way back to 2014 to cover up all the money that Hunter Biden gave
[00:08:33] the Biden family.
[00:08:35] Joe is just covering his own butt like he always does.
[00:08:38] Yeah, I tend to agree with you.
[00:08:40] I don't think it's coincidental that the pardon covers precisely the start date when Hunter
[00:08:45] went to Burisma.
[00:08:47] I don't think that's a coincidence.
[00:08:50] Yeah, that's not an accident.
[00:08:51] Right.
[00:08:52] All right.
[00:08:52] So we've got you for another segment.
[00:08:54] Nick Searcy, he is the international film and television star.
[00:08:57] And he's also the you are the producer, right, for for the war on truth and capital punishment
[00:09:06] as well.
[00:09:06] You worked with this director, Chris Burgard.
[00:09:10] Yeah.
[00:09:10] And so I did not realize that Matthew Broderick had a dance double in Ferris Bueller's Day
[00:09:17] Off.
[00:09:17] But that's who Chris was.
[00:09:20] And Chris Burgard did acting school with me.
[00:09:24] So Chris and I have done it.
[00:09:25] Oh, that's right.
[00:09:26] OK.
[00:09:26] I knew we looked familiar.
[00:09:27] OK.
[00:09:28] So, yeah, I did not know dance doubling was a thing in Hollywood.
[00:09:31] But there you go.
[00:09:32] For over a month now, I have been reminding you to preserve your precious photos and slides,

[00:10:31] That's createavideo.com.
[00:10:34] One of the things that the Hunter Biden pardon may have done is to help clear the way for Donald
[00:10:41] Trump to issue a whole bunch of pardons of his own.
[00:10:45] I see this as a potential silver lining.
[00:10:47] Joining me is Nick Searcy.
[00:10:49] He's an actor, producer and director.
[00:10:51] And he did two movies, Capital Punishment in 2021, The War on Truth.
[00:10:56] This year, it's still available to watch.
[00:10:59] You can go to thewarontruthmovie.com for details on that.
[00:11:03] So, Nick, I have heard this idea that maybe we do pardons for, you know, you go case by
[00:11:10] case for the J6ers.
[00:11:13] And Trump can go through all of the cases and pardon the individuals.
[00:11:17] Do you think that's a good approach or no?
[00:11:21] I think that every single one of them should be pardoned.
[00:11:24] I think it should be a blanket pardon for everyone that was charged or could be charged for that
[00:11:29] day because I think the entire day needs to be discredited.
[00:11:34] The government has lied about what happened that day.
[00:11:36] They were part of the setup.
[00:11:38] They refused the National Guard.
[00:11:39] They wanted it to happen.
[00:11:41] They set these people up.
[00:11:43] And then after that, they denied them their constitutional rights to a fair trial, to
[00:11:48] a jury of their peers.
[00:11:49] All of these people have been tried in Washington, D.C., where there was no chance for them to
[00:11:54] get a fair trial.
[00:11:55] There is no way to assemble an impartial jury in Washington, D.C., because it's 97 percent
[00:12:01] Democrat.
[00:12:02] And there was no change of venue granted to any of these defendants.
[00:12:06] If they had been tried in their home state, most of them would have been exonerated.
[00:12:11] So my position on this, kind of if he wants to go case by case as long as he goes quickly.
[00:12:17] But my personal belief is that every single person, no matter what they did that day, should
[00:12:24] be pre-cardoned and completely exonerated.
[00:12:28] You spoke with a lot of these people.
[00:12:30] I watched one particular story where you were with a guy who turned himself in for imprisonment.
[00:12:39] And you were there when he did with this, when he walked into the prison and you were there
[00:12:45] with his wife and the day he left his kids behind.
[00:12:48] And you said, you know, it's one of the saddest days of your life and you're sad and you're
[00:12:53] angry.
[00:12:54] How many of these people did you talk with?
[00:12:57] And how does that kind of those kinds of interactions?
[00:13:00] How does that affect you?
[00:13:02] How does it change you?
[00:13:04] I've probably talked with at least 50 and maybe 60 of the defendants over the years.
[00:13:10] And I mean, seeing that and most of them, Pete, most of them are the most decent people you
[00:13:17] can imagine.
[00:13:18] Most of them have never been arrested for anything before in their lives.
[00:13:21] They're predominantly Christian.
[00:13:23] A lot of them are veterans.
[00:13:24] They're the type of people that you would trust your children with or your pets if you
[00:13:29] were going on vacation.
[00:13:30] These are really lovely, responsible, wonderful people.
[00:13:34] And to see them treated this way, to see them have to say goodbye to their children.
[00:13:39] The man that you're referencing in that video was a man named J.D. Rivera.
[00:13:43] Yeah.
[00:13:43] A man with four children and never arrested for anything before in his life.
[00:13:48] A Marine veteran who was there part of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
[00:13:53] And to send him to jail because he walked into the Capitol after the police told him he could
[00:13:59] come in.
[00:14:00] And to see him say goodbye to his children like that.
[00:14:04] I mean, it changed me in a way that I just I can't even express it.
[00:14:09] These people inspired me because their faith is what got them through.
[00:14:16] And to see them treated this way by our government, it's infuriating.
[00:14:21] Well, yeah, there's this double standard as well, because he was the one, if I recall
[00:14:25] correctly, that he was the one that was shooting video for journalistic purposes, trying to sell
[00:14:32] it and did.
[00:14:33] I think he got under contract, right, with a TV station or something for the video.
[00:14:37] But then there were some other like, you know, legacy media journalist who was standing
[00:14:42] right next to him shooting the very same footage.
[00:14:44] That guy didn't get arrested.
[00:14:46] No, that guy won a Pulitzer Prize.
[00:14:49] And that's the thing.
[00:14:50] It's like, yes, J.D. got a job offer off of the footage that he shot.
[00:14:55] But then 10 days later, when he was arrested and it was on the news, all of this went away.
[00:15:01] And J.D. went through a period where he couldn't even get a job at Burger King.
[00:15:06] Because what happens to these people is once they're charged, anytime you search their name,
[00:15:11] the first thing that comes up is felony assault at the Capitol or whatever the ramped up charges
[00:15:18] are.
[00:15:18] And so people won't even hire them.
[00:15:21] They they they intentionally do this to destroy these people.
[00:15:24] It's meant to intimidate, meant to send a message.
[00:15:27] It's not only to punish them, but it's meant to tell the rest of the community and the rest of the
[00:15:32] nation, don't ever cross us because this is going to happen to you.
[00:15:37] So there's been a lot of focus on rounding up every one of the people that were at the Capitol
[00:15:43] that day.
[00:15:43] I've seen stories about the amount of resources that have been devoted to this kind of thing,
[00:15:48] to this investigation.
[00:15:50] And and, you know, the you mentioned the raids, the serving of the warrants, taking people into
[00:15:56] custody and stuff just completely out of proportion to what some of these people did, which was,
[00:16:01] as you said, literally just walk through open doors and just kind of walked around the Capitol.
[00:16:06] And some of them were invited in by Capitol police themselves.
[00:16:09] We have it on video.
[00:16:10] We've seen it.
[00:16:11] Your movie documents this stuff.
[00:16:13] So what are we?
[00:16:15] And I guess this brings us all the way back to the initial comments about government choosing
[00:16:19] what it wants to focus on.
[00:16:20] So what does this tell you about the focus of the district attorney and prosecutors inside D.C.?
[00:16:28] Well, the ramifications of what those prosecutors in D.C. have done are all around them in Washington,
[00:16:35] D.C.
[00:16:36] It's a crime ridden hellhole.
[00:16:38] The violent crimes there are not being prosecuted because they they've devoted so many resources
[00:16:44] to prosecuting these 68 year old female domestic terrorists, these grandmothers who walked into
[00:16:51] the Capitol building and took a selfie.
[00:16:54] I mean, just by prioritizing, you can see by the way they prioritize the January 6th defendants
[00:17:01] that they're not really interested in solving crime.
[00:17:05] They're not really interested in protecting their community.
[00:17:08] They're interested in advancing a political agenda.
[00:17:12] And I'm convinced that that's why Donald Trump, that's part of the reason why Donald Trump won
[00:17:17] this election.
[00:17:18] And people can see this, see how unfair this is and see what this what this government has
[00:17:24] been doing.
[00:17:25] Well, to enter your point about all of the the people from across the country that have
[00:17:30] have been targeted now with these investigations, their communities know who they are.
[00:17:36] And I wonder if that there's a ripple effect, you know, going on from that.
[00:17:40] It's like, hey, I know that guy.
[00:17:41] He's not that he didn't do that.
[00:17:44] And then it's like, wow, now I'm sort of getting red pilled here about what else are they doing?
[00:17:50] I think that process has been slow.
[00:17:52] I think at first a lot of a lot of the stories that these people have told me is that they
[00:17:56] were completely shunned by their community.
[00:17:59] Yeah.
[00:17:59] I mean, when you're when you're in a little neighborhood and suddenly 40 vehicles pull up
[00:18:04] and a SWAT team comes out and starts throwing flashbangs at somebody's house.
[00:18:08] If you're a neighbor of that, you go, who the heck is that guy?
[00:18:12] He must be terrible.
[00:18:14] And that's what was happening to these people.
[00:18:16] They treated them like drug dealers and serial killers and and and horrible human beings.
[00:18:22] And so the neighborhood just goes, that guy must be really bad.
[00:18:26] Yeah.
[00:18:26] I think the more the truth has come out, it's been a gradual thing of everybody.
[00:18:31] I wish there had been more people standing up at the beginning for these people, but they
[00:18:36] were scared.
[00:18:36] They were intimidated because when the full force of the government comes crashing down
[00:18:40] on somebody, everybody around them goes, oh, I'm glad that's not me.
[00:18:45] So they try to do everything they can to avoid it.
[00:18:48] No, you're exactly right.
[00:18:49] And so, hey, I appreciate the work that you have done.
[00:18:52] Capital Punishment, the original movie, 2021, the now sequel, The War on Truth.
[00:18:57] You can see that the war on truth movie dot com.

[00:19:07] Both movies are actually available there.

[00:19:14] Thanks, Pete.

[00:19:45] And I can show you how it works.
[00:19:46] Run the numbers with you again.
[00:19:48] That's Pete at the Pete calendar show dot com.
[00:19:51] So thanks again to Nick Searcy for joining me again.
[00:19:56] And I only gave you sort of like a couple of the things when I was putting together his
[00:20:01] bio.
[00:20:02] It's like there's so much stuff that he's been in and he has done.
[00:20:06] And like it's like drinking from a fire hose.
[00:20:10] But, you know, I try to, you know, give credit for the big things that he's done.
[00:20:14] He's done a lot of it.
[00:20:15] So let me add a couple more here.
[00:20:18] I did mention his book.
[00:20:21] Justify this a career without compromise.
[00:20:23] He is he's one of the few conservatives in Hollywood and has managed to make a career
[00:20:33] in Hollywood as a conservative.
[00:20:36] Not that he was, you know, running around like saying, hire me, I'm a conservative.
[00:20:40] But he, you know, he landed roles.
[00:20:44] What was the last one?
[00:20:45] I always the shape of water like.
[00:20:48] Nick has been on Twitter and that's where I first encountered him was on Twitter.
[00:20:56] Engaging in fights with leftists.
[00:21:00] And that's how we first crossed paths.
[00:21:03] And then I found out at some point that his because he he's from Western North Carolina,
[00:21:10] he's from Culloway.
[00:21:10] And so he went to school with one of the old sales reps at the radio station I worked at
[00:21:16] up in Asheville.
[00:21:18] And.
[00:21:19] And so, yeah, so like they're like, wow, small world.
[00:21:23] And and so I, you know, talked with him.
[00:21:25] He I mean, he did he did a song.
[00:21:28] So like there was a while where he was, you know, in on Twitter telling people, calling people
[00:21:34] fat that were leftists.
[00:21:37] And it didn't matter if they were or not.
[00:21:39] And that was the whole point.
[00:21:41] They were calling him all of these terrible names.
[00:21:44] And so he started just saying, well, you're fat.
[00:21:46] And they're like, no, I'm not.
[00:21:47] He's like, well, I'm not what you called me either.
[00:21:50] But here we are, you know, and then he wrote a song.
[00:21:55] He did a YouTube song of him playing piano.
[00:21:59] It's like something like you got fat fingers, you got fat toes.
[00:22:04] It's just ridiculous.
[00:22:05] He's hilarious.
[00:22:06] I mentioned his Nick Cersei's acting school still available.
[00:22:11] I think he did that thing like 12 years ago.
[00:22:13] It's a series that like a fully produced series on YouTube.
[00:22:17] And the whole thing is like, you know, how elite we actors are.
[00:22:23] And he's just so he he enjoys playing the heel.
[00:22:27] He was actually, I think at one point, maybe still is manager for the Hardy Boys, the wrestlers.
[00:22:34] He at one point came through the Southeast acting as a manager for wrestlers at wrestling events, WWE events or something.
[00:22:47] Or I don't know.
[00:22:48] I don't know all of the intro.
[00:22:49] John Moore might.
[00:22:50] I don't know all of the the different leagues and all of that stuff.
[00:22:54] But yeah, he loves playing the heel, you know, the the bad guy, the villain.
[00:23:00] He loves that character.
[00:23:02] He also does the character of Art Mullen, the, you know, the chief law enforcement that the, you know, the main like Timothy Oliphant.
[00:23:12] Injustified.
[00:23:13] Who plays the, you know, the guy who breaks the rules, but he does it for the right reasons like that character.
[00:23:19] And then there's always the boss that's like, oh, you're driving me crazy.
[00:23:22] Got you.
[00:23:23] That's Nick Cersei as well.
[00:23:25] He was the one who cracked the case in Runaway Jury.
[00:23:29] He was the one that he figured it out before Gene Hackman did.
[00:23:35] He figured out, spoiler alert, John Cusick had a personal connection to turn the jury against Gene Hackman's client.
[00:23:46] And Cersei was the one that got to the, I mean, well, the writers did, but he still acted the part.
[00:23:51] Okay.
[00:23:52] He's also doing a movie about the Battle of King's Mountain.
[00:23:57] He's developing a movie about the Battle of King's Mountain.
[00:24:02] Right, right down the road from us here in Charlotte.
[00:24:04] So I'm looking forward to that.
[00:24:08] Let's see here.
[00:24:09] He was on Thunder Alley, American Gothic, Rodney, Boston Legal, CSI, The West Wing, Stolen Innocence.
[00:24:20] That's a movie of the week.
[00:24:21] From Earth to the Moon.
[00:24:23] He was a series regular on the HBO series.
[00:24:26] Did Broadway, off-Broadway stuff.
[00:24:28] Oh, sorry.
[00:24:29] Off-Broadway performances.
[00:24:31] He's just, he's done a lot.
[00:24:33] And has been around for a long time.
[00:24:37] And these two movies, Capital Punishment and the War on Truth movie.
[00:24:41] Because he was there on January 6th.
[00:24:43] And I remember interviewing him right afterwards.
[00:24:46] And he was like, dude, I was on the other side of the Capitol.
[00:24:49] Like, there wasn't anything like that happening where we were.
[00:24:53] And so he was mad at, like, the way everybody was being smeared with this, you know, oh, you guys, you know, insurrectionists and all this.
[00:25:05] And still are.
[00:25:07] And he was like, dude, it was a rally.
[00:25:10] Everybody had a great time.
[00:25:11] Like, we were nowhere near any of that stuff.
[00:25:14] And then you start hearing about people getting, you know, raided and arrested and the full weight of the federal government dropped on them.
[00:25:22] And so they have to take the plea agreement.
[00:25:24] Essentially the very thing that Hunter Biden's team and family said, right?
[00:25:30] I mean, minus the whole, you know, no jail time and forgiveness for any potential crime you may have ever committed or will commit.
[00:25:38] Aside from that part of the plea agreement, it's kind of the same thing.
[00:25:43] And he would always, yeah, Nick would always start the episodes of his acting school YouTube series.
[00:25:48] And there's like, I don't know, a dozen episodes.
[00:25:50] He'd always start, hi, I'm Nick Searcy.
[00:25:53] But you knew that.
[00:25:54] And that's why I will say that every now and again.
[00:25:57] It's like it's a reference to that.
[00:25:59] So now you know the inside joke.
[00:26:01] Okay, so if you hear me say, hey, I'm Pete Callender, but you knew that.
[00:26:04] That's an homage to Nick's acting class series, which was highly recommended, hilarious.
[00:26:13] He's got a, there are people in there, because he was doing Justified at the time.
[00:26:18] And that he made this YouTube series.
[00:26:20] So like Natalie Z did a cameo spot in it where he's like, he gets all drunk, suppose, like he's acting.
[00:26:29] But he gets drunk behind the scenes at some award show.
[00:26:33] They start arguing.
[00:26:35] Because it's just, anyway, you got to see it.
[00:26:36] It's a very, it's a humorous, satirical look at the privileged, pampered lives of actors.
[00:26:45] But he walks around as if he deserves all of it, you know, because he's the heel.
[00:26:50] So anyway.
[00:26:52] Anyway, he did do these two documentaries.
[00:26:56] And I saw there was a, there was a Newsweek article about him.
[00:27:02] Where is it here?
[00:27:04] He said that he is done now making political documentaries, instead focusing on his book, Justify This, A Career Without Compromise.
[00:27:14] He also plays a role in the Netflix miniseries starring Nicole Kidman called The Perfect Couple.
[00:27:23] So that was another one of his credits.
[00:27:25] His IMDb is just packed.
[00:27:29] But so he's moving away from that stuff.
[00:27:31] But the material, and this is one of the things about when you do this kind of reporting or, you know, if you're doing documentaries about people who have had their lives upended or ruined.
[00:27:45] I mean, these are, these are heartbreaking stories, as he described it.
[00:27:51] And, and I can attest, like, these stories, as a reporter, the stories stick with you.
[00:27:57] And the people stick with you.
[00:27:58] And they become a part of how you look at the world.
[00:28:05] They become part of your life.
[00:28:07] And there are some people that they've got a very deep well that they can keep, you know, filling with stories like this.
[00:28:18] But at some point, the well gets full, you know.
[00:28:23] And it's just, you, you can't bear any more of it.
[00:28:28] And I don't know if that's where he got to, but, like, it, it takes a lot.
[00:28:34] It weighs a lot.
[00:28:36] So I get it.
[00:28:39] But the topic here of a government, a federal government that is completely out of control and has been weaponized against its own citizens.
[00:28:51] This is not a new story.
[00:28:53] In fact, in looking up Kash Patel, the FBI nominee, the director of the FBI nominee that Trump has floated.
[00:29:02] And they're, the knives are out for this guy.
[00:29:04] They do not want him in charge.
[00:29:06] The Justice Department, this is from 2021, April 2021.
[00:29:11] The Justice Department is investigating whether Kash Patel, a former high-ranking Trump administration official who was instrumental in revealing secrets behind the Russiagate controversy, improperly disclosed classified information, according to a new report.
[00:29:27] The alleged inquiry was revealed in a column Friday by the Washington Post columnist David Ignatius.
[00:29:33] Anytime you hear that guy's name, just think, intelligence community cutout.
[00:29:38] Because that's what he is.
[00:29:39] When the intel community, when the blob, the deep state, when they want to plant smear stories or leak information, they hand it off to David Ignatius.
[00:29:50] He cited two knowledgeable sources, anonymous, of course.
[00:29:54] And by the way, this was over the Nunes memo.
[00:29:58] Devin Nunes, congressman, who took the memo, went to Trump and was like, yo, like, they're trying to take you out.
[00:30:08] Like, here's the information.
[00:30:10] Kash Patel was the one who wrote that.
[00:30:14] Patel last worked as chief of staff to acting defense secretary Christopher Miller, served as a national security staff, security council staffer,
[00:30:22] and a top aide to the acting director of national intelligence, Richard Grinnell, as well.
[00:30:28] He has the qualifications.
[00:30:30] He is qualified to do this job.
[00:30:33] And he is probably uniquely qualified because of the way the DOJ went after him personally for trying to expose what they were doing against Trump.
[00:30:42] All right, that'll do it for this episode.
[00:30:45] Thank you so much for listening.
[00:30:46] I could not do the show without your support and the support of the businesses that advertise on the podcast.
[00:30:51] So if you'd like, please support them, too, and tell them you heard it here.
