Replacing Ginsburg is consistent with the Constitution & the “norms”

The same people (and their allies in the media) who have been systematically dismantling the “norms” on appointing judicial nominees now say the precedents they set should be ignored. Charges of hypocrisy no longer carry and purchase in politics. Still, filling the Supreme Court vacancy before the election would be consistent with the Constitution and the historical process.

The mistakes Democratic candidate Cal Cunningham made were so obvious that he had to immediately “clarify” that he, essentially, is not an anti-vaxxer. He flopped on defending his position on eliminating qualified immunity, laughed when Tillis mentioned the attempted assassination of two police officers in California, and stumbled during his clumsy pivots.

Pete talks Asheville Police protester abuse report on WWNC

Wednesday morning, Pete joined Mark Starling from First News on 570 (WWNC-AM) to discuss how Asheville City Council received a report this week clearing themselves of any responsibility in the way police dispersed demonstrators over a four-day period. Police used tear gas, sting balls, and pepper spray to move protesters off an interstate. The report is the first step in the elected officials’ goal to defund the police.

You can hear a full analysis of the report on Friday’s podcast.
